Places to stay in Oregon

Places to stay in Oregon
A quiet, cozy bedroom & a bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. There is an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedrooms, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific ramen shop, a pizza joint, two coffee shops, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Lovely environment with amazing decor!

  • We enjoyed our stay with Brad and Becca. It was good value in a well appointed and located home.

    Liza2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Brad & Becca’s place is incredibly stylish and has a lot of beautiful artistic touches. Brad is an amazing host from sharing local tips to making sure you feel welcome in his home and Portland. Location is very good and public transportation/car gets you to downtown in 15 mins or less. Highly recommend staying here!

  • Amazing place to stay, Brad & Becca are absolutely amazing and very understanding. I would definitely recommend anyone who need somewhere to stay in Portland to book with brad & Becca, you will not regret it!!!

  • Great space. Comfortable and clean. Sweet pets :)

  • Super affectionate cat and a pretty aesthetic place, super comfy beds and lots of plants made it perfect!

    Bobby2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brad & Becca’s place was amazing. Along with being perpendicular to a busy spot in the city filled with great food, the highlight of my trip was the addition of the three furry little friends; Zuzu, Carlos, and Diego. Brad and Becca were very accommodating to our ever changing schedule and made sure we had the best experience they could offer. Would definitely stay again.

If you are looking for a comfortable, simple, smoke-free and toxic-free environment then our rustic cottage is for you. Our 7 acre organic homestead is located off a quiet road just two miles from downtown Cottage Grove and 22 miles from Eugene.
Currently, we have a king-size organic cotton bed and a single organic cotton mattress in the loft and a full-size futon downstairs for sleeping. Or, if you would prefer, you are also welcome to set up a tent outside the cottage if extra space is needed. There is a kitchen, with a stove, oven, fridge and basic cooking utensils. We have wifi internet available. The bathroom has hot water, a shower, and a composting toilet. You can find more information on our composting toilet in the Humanure Handbook. We are excited to make our cottage available to folks on route or looking for a short visit in need of a simple, affordable and healthy space.
There are beautiful, scenic rides on the bike path along Row River that pass many swimming holes. In the summer, abundant blackberries are available for picking all along the bike path and there are plenty of apples in the fall. We have a couple of bikes available for guests to use.
  • This is the sweetest farm cottage. If you are looking for quiet and unpretentious simplicity, this is it! It was perfect in every way for my solo creative retreat.

  • A rustic experience that helps you appreciate sustainable practices and the simple life. The guesthouse is clean and functional and has a nice ambiance.

    Anne-Lise2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The most rustic, private, serene, quiet place to unwind and spend some relaxing time alone to rest from the hustle of life as a busy mom of a large family. WIFI was strong but a few times my cell tower bars disappeared and I didn’t have connection but overall it was perfect. The heater is warm & cozy upstairs, so I hung out there most of the time. Compost toilet is actually a pretty incredible idea and I enjoyed the overall rustic feel of the cabin. I didn’t realize there was no freezer or microwave but the host offered a cooler which was perfect to leave outside at night. I will be back!

    Sherah2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot surrounded by trees, on a small sustainable farm. My partner and I felt very welcome and enjoyed exploring the downtown. A great place for a short getaway!

    Nicole2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and great hosts! Very cozy cottage.

    Andrea2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Katja was a singular hostess. The accommodations were perfect for us. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and has everything we needed to cook for ourselves during our stay. We so enjoyed a few days of peace and quiet! The farm is wonderful, especially if you have an interest or appreciation for organic and sustainable farming. The creek right outside adds serenity. The location was easy to find, secluded, but near town. We enjoyed several of the books and puzzles on hand. Look forward to staying again.

    Kate2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a cozy and nourishing place to stay :-) my husband and I stayed here for a few days during the rainy months of the year. It was quiet, only one night did we hear traffic on the road. It was lovely to stay in a place that has been created with a lot of conscious intention for natural, organic and sustainably minded people. The compost toilet was very easy to use and a lovely addition. We got to see the animals on the land, and feed the adorable rabbits. Katja is a very generous and hospitable host, she responds quickly to any questions, and has lots of local tips.

    Jenn2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute and airy cottage with a cozy loft. Hosts are interesting, conscientious and generous people. Only stayed for a night on the way south but it was perfect for that. Cottage Grove seems like a sweet town.

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, upcycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to SE Hawthorne and Division. 15 minutes the the airport, downtown and convention center. 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, ample free street parking. Book The Magic House in conjunction for 10 people.
Built with Love! We are permitted by the city of Portland to host 10 guests at the Magic Barn and The Magic House, which are adjacent. Please feel free with questions to see if we can accommodate the needs of your large or small group: The Magic House Link: https://airbnb.com/h/themagichouse Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. The Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio for fifteen years. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were sculpted right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was a crooked old shed with broken windows, no electricity, water or heat and was filled with trash. Todji turned it into his sculpture studio, and then purchased the house in 2004 when banks were giving loans to anyone, including self-employed artists! Todji rented rooms to other artists while restoring the old house and building his career as a fine art sculptor. Todji and Gisele painted the outside of The Magic House and Magic Barn with seven colors over three summers. During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. Look at the outside walls to see the twist in the structure, and Gisele's beautiful painting! TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from areas around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day. Hobie is your onsite host and he He is a novelist and professional writer. He is available to both respect privacy and also assist during your stay. We support the local art community by giving cleaning and maintenance work at the Magic House to community artists. Thank you for reading our story, we hope to host you at the Magic Barn!
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. Multnomah Falls /Franklin Ridge Loop Eagle Creek Angels Rest Bridal Veil Falls Triple Falls Wahkeena Falls Groceries, Pharmacy and Shopping: New Seasons- Local Health Food Store (40th and Hawthorne) Fred Meyers- Local Department/Grocery store (Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne) Rite Aid Pharmacy- Drugstore/pharmacy (Cesar Chavez and Division) Powell’s Books- A smaller version of Portland’s famous Bookstore (37th and Hawthorne) Gold Door- Wonderful Imports from around the world (37th and Hawthorne) Enjoy!

An airy and inspiring space with a simplistic vibe. Located just outside of the Old Farm District on the quieter side of Bend. A quaint, scenic trail is walking-distance from the house. Downtown Bend and the Old Mill shops are minutes away. Entrance is private with convenient key-code access.
Our space is ideal for adventurers, business travelers, couples and small families. A full-size living room with plenty of seating options, finished concrete floors for maximum cleanliness, and a kitchenette stocked with the essentials. Retreat through a sliding barn door to a private bedroom with a queen-size bed. The couch pulls out to a comfortable queen-size bed for additional sleeping. There is a work desk and free wifi, as well as access to an amazon fire stick for TV. Enjoy the best of what Bend has to offer, local-style. There is something to do for everyone here, all year around! Hikers and runners can access the Deschutes River Trail just 2.5 miles away from the house. If you’re feeling adventurous, enjoy views of the deep river canyons just thirty minutes north, to Smith Rock State Park. Mountain bikers can access the popular Phil’s Trail, 12 miles westward. When visiting during the winter, grab your skiis/snowboard and head thirty minutes west to Mount Bachelor. If you’re jonesing for a beer afterward, head to one of the many local breweries that Bend has to offer. Our favorites include Crux Fermentation Project, Deschutes Brewery, Worthy Brewing and 10 Barrel Brewing Co. Coffee connoisseurs can rest assured, knowing there are plenty of local coffee shops including Backporch Coffee Roasters, Lone Pine Coffee and Spoken Moto. If you’re lucky, you might find yourself visiting when your favorite band is playing at the Les Schwab Amphitheater! Just a mile away from the house is a cinder butte with sage and juniper trails leading to Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint. Downtown Bend and the Old Mill District are popular locations to get your shopping fix in, as well. If you’re feeling like a homebody, curl up on the couch and watch a movie with a fresh cup of French Press coffee. Again, there is something to do for everyone, all year around.
We are nestled in a residential neighborhood on the Southeast side of Bend, surrounded by many of central Oregon's native pine and juniper trees. The house is walking distance to several nearby trails and parks. Our neighbors are quiet and respectful, and the popular Pilot Butte is viewable from the front window!
  • This was hands down my FAVORITE Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in!! From cute decor to thoughtful local touches, everything is just perfect. We’ll definitely be back!

  • Wonderful place and 6 minute drive to the action in bend and 25 minute drive to the ski resort. Even though there's a lot to do in bend the apartment is very comfortable to kick back and relax. For those not afraid to cook while on vacation the apartment has a small but capable set of utensils to make just about anything.

    Javier2020-02-21T00:00:00Z

This quaint little log cabin sits in the Deschutes River Woods. Filled with the comforts of a country home w/ hot-tub. 35-40 minutes to Mt. Bachelor. 10 minutes from downtown Bend and Old Mill shops and restaurants. 15 minutes from Sunriver Resort. 10 minutes to The High Desert Museum. Come Play! The cabin is comfortably suited for 2-4 people with bed space for as many people. We do allow up to 6 people if you wish to do so and want to bring an air mattress or something for extra sleeping space.
Very quaint and homey log cabin in the woods. Come and enjoy the fluffy piles of snow in the winter and warm sun and water in the summer! Fun all year round! Filled with a full kitchenette and laundry services this space is a home away from home for up to 4 guests. Full wifi, HD cable services, and Netflix on site. Ductless Heating and Air Conditioning. Outdoor Fire-Pit and patio/picnic area Close to many of Central Oregon's attractions and beautiful landscapes. Convenient and easy drive to Bend, Sunriver, and Mt. Bachelor. We allow you to bring your furry dogs with you on your journey though with a few stipulations. First is that you either bring a crate or take them with you and not be left free to wander while you are gone. Second that our cleaner charges an additional cleaning fee of $25 for the added time and tools/products to clean couches, carpets, floors, and blankets (this will be collected after or during your stay) :) other than that just get ready to have fun in Bend! Please note for your convenience the second bed available to our guest is a pullout from one of the leather sofas with a very comfortable brand new memory foam mattress:)
Quaint and friendly neighbor hood in Deschutes River Woods conveniently located for all of Central Oregon's activities :) PLEASE NOTE*** there is a short section of gravel road that can get potholes in the summer on the way to the property so please ask for alternate routes if you have a vehicle with low ground clearance. In addition, it can get very snowy in the winter out in Bend and traction tires or chains are strongly recommended. We do keep the driveway and road usually well cut down of deep powder as much as we can but it can still get built up overnight. If you are concerned about getting into our location feel free to inquire about the current road conditions :)
  • Clean, cozy, and spacious with a washer and dryer, a great fire pit and private hot tub. There were issues with the hot tub needing maintenance but Austin was great about communicating and fixing it ASAP, and luckily we stayed long enough to enjoy it after it was fixed. There's a small TV in the living room, and the Blu-ray player has Netflix, YouTube and Prime video if you go to "Network Services" in the menu. The kitchen is fully stocked with any cooking tools you might need. The shower was our only issue. It's very small with no shelving to put your soap on and the way it's built makes it so the shower head is pointing horizontally rather than down over your body, even in it's lowest angle. At best it was kind of just spraying the upper part of the door and directly at my face, so it takes forever to rinse off your body. It's a quick, cheap fix to just get a different shower head attachment, plus a cheap little caddy with suction cups to hold your soaps. This would actually be a big improvement for having comfortable, relaxing showers, so hopefully we get to come back in the future and see that improved! I would still recommend this stay, as long as your expectations are managed. It's not really in the woods; it's in a residential neighborhood with houses all around, so it's not very secluded or private, but the front yard is nicely wooded and a great space to hang out.

    Aaron2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great quick stay at Austin’s cabin. The place is bigger than what I expected and I really appreciated how well equipped the kitchen is! Also, I really enjoyed how comfortable the bed was- neighborhood is very quite too, mostly residential, and we saw beautiful stars and a huge family of dear. We didn’t get to use the hut tub outside- hope to be back one day for that and more explorations of the area. Austin was super quick to respond and extremely kind, check-in and check-out went very smoothly. Had a little trouble with cellphone coverage so I took the opportunity to unplug:) I certainly recommend Austin’s cabin!

    Irene2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin was cute, cozy, just outside of town but still close. I loved the skylights in the bedroom to see the stars at night

    Olivia2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot to get away and still be only a quick drive from downtown Bend and Mt. Bachelor. Austin was very easy to communicate with and everything was as we expected or even better. Would definitely stay here again when coming to that area.

    Austin2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin in a good location fairly close to downtown Bend. The home we really clean, everything was just what we had hoped for. There was a hot tub. Kitchen had everything for preparing a meal with the food items we brought or picked up at the local store. Bed was comfy. Washer and dryer available in the unit. Austin we super responsive at all times, before, during and after.

Portland's Historic Mississippi District is definitely where you want to stay when visiting the city. SUPER easy to get to other parts of the city from here too!
  • Adam and Arthur's place was fantastic. Ideally situated near downtown. They were gracious hosts and had all amenities that you would expect from an expensive hotel room. All in all I had a restful and comfortable stay and would highly recommend their place to anyone coming to visit Portland.

  • This is a block away from one of the coolest and most delicious neighborhoods in Portland. Seriously, the three blocks south of this house are absolutely crammed with amazing places to eat and drink, and they are all operated by kind people who care about genuine hospitality. There's even a cool little music venue! The room itself was sparkling clean and entry/exit was easy and straightforward. I had a great experience.

  • Awesome spot! Overall I recommend it. If you are an uber sensitive sleeper, note the floor boards creek a bit. Personally, I didn’t find this a big deal. Staying here was so nice, convenient and adam/arthur were awesome about letting me keep their bags all day after check put.

  • Excellent room in a very nice house. Description fits it perfectly. Adam & Arthur are very attentive.

★Feel at ease in our super clean, disinfected & sanitized space. Extra measures-ensuring everything’s disinfected & sanitized with medical grade solutions.★All is provided in this remodeled 1910 Loft; Adorned in local art! A luxurious Queen bed in a lofted bedroom overflowing with 30 ft windows of natural light! New kitchen, SS appliances, & comfy queen sleeper couch w/memory foam topper. 2 blocks from bustling Alberta walking street & still getting a quiet nights rest! Across from Alberta Park.
The house is located in our backyard in the heart of the Alberta Arts District. Rob, the host, is an award winning photographer and his art of local attractions surround the home. A packet of self-made recommendations awaits you that hosts Sylvia and Rob have put together so you can make sure to hit all the hot spots! Maps, attraction brochures, and local magazines will also help educate you on local Oregon secrets while you sip complimentary local coffee or tea or unwind from your travels in the large hot tub! This home was just finished and newly reconstructed from 1910. The beams of the structure are made out of rail road car bottoms from the early 1900's, they measure an amazing 22 feet long! The main floor is original from 1910, you will notice the unique cracking and lines that have formed throughout the generations. The railing on the loft is made out of mild steel, custom welded in place. The height of the ceiling is a whopping 30 feet tall! The park across the street includes a basketball court, dog off-leash area, two playgrounds, soccer field, softball field and tennis court, as well as paved and unpaved paths and picnic tables.
It's nestled in a quiet neighborhood just 2 short blocks away from bustling Alberta walking street, Killingsworth, and near by Mississippi Street! All these streets have the best culinary restaurants, coffee shops, tea houses, and boutiques that Portland has to offer. Highlights include Concordia University, Salt and Straw Famous Ice Cream, Great Notion Brewery, Blue Star Donuts, DOZENS of coffee shops and breweries, McMenamins Kennedy School, and the house is located directly across the street from Alberta Park, a 17 acre Park. You will find hand painted murals all over the neighborhood. The area has very cool history engraved into the old streets of this very renovated hip area. Very open and friendly neighborhood to walk around for a stroll in the park or hit the surrounding action.
  • This is a stylish place within walking distance to the Alberta Arts district. We loved it.

    Roger2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great space

    Patrick2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Artist’s Loft is adorable and exactly what we needed, in a great location to boot! The kitchen area was very well appointed, but we were only in town for a single night so we didn’t utilise it as we would have liked. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was bigger than expected. Overall, the space is understated and minimal in its decor - a good thing for us since we’re definitely not “a thousand pillows on the bed and nicknacks everywhere” people. The vaulted ceiling in the living area made the whole space feel light and roomy. Being walking distance from Alberta Street was a blessing we didn’t know to expect - it’s a great stretch of shops, restaurants, and pubs. Think the Portland version of Magazine Street in New Orleans (not touristy, amazing food, and so much fun!). We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Portland. Thanks!!!

  • Would absolutely recommend staying here. Stylish space, incredible location and clean home.

    David2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful. It's a small fully equipped house with a modern style and a hot tub I didn't have a chance to enjoy.

    Thierry2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rob & Sylvia were prompt and professional in their communication. The place was clean and newly built - we particularly liked the hot tub

    Erik Brakstad2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very neat and clean space. Loved seeing the artwork on the walls. Host responded quickly when we requested to use the hot tub and made sure everything was ready for us (even though I chickened out because it was freezing outside). Close ride to downtown and would definitely stay again. Parking spot requires talented parallel parker, or you could just park on the street.

With just the right amount of space for two, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv with HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • This is a nice clean studio apartment on a quiet street in Northeast Portland. Downtown is easily accessible by public transport. Uber was only 11 dollars. Whole Foods is a 10 minute walk from here. The amenities in the home were stocked so that cooking a hot breakfast was easy. Again everything was clean and we definitely would stay again.

    Natalie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This stylish, clean space is located in a very walkable and historic neighborhood. It’s close to shops and cafes. Easy parking. I appreciated the easy checkin. The space is very classy with a simple and open design plan. Loved the kitchen and tv space. Only stayed one night but it would be great for a longer stay. I would definitely stay again.

    Heather2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here. It was in a great location in a very desirable neighborhood. I do want want to make a comment that I am sure that the host is already aware of. Just be prepared if you are a taller individual you may have some difficulty using the bathroom since the shower is very tiny along with the bathroom itself. Other than that, this was a very comfortable stay. Thank you again.

    Amy2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible place! Great location, phenomenal value, and whomever designed it has incredible taste. I hope I’ll get the chance to stay here the next time I’m in town and in the meantime, I’ll recommend friends there during their Portland trips. Don’t hesitate on this place, it is pure magic.

  • This place is a must if you are staying in Portland. It is located very close to downtown and quite near public transport. The check in was simple and easy. The studio itself is very cute, large, and has all that you can need. I will be back next time I am in town, and recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Hannah and Jason!

    Mackenzie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a small but squeaky clean apartment conveniently located near multiple transportation options in a quiet neighborhood on Portland's northwest side. The unit is very functional with all the essentials, comfortable bed under a sky light, kitchen, spacious bath and a remotely controlled heating unit. The apartment is in a leafy residential area but close to cafes, bars and restaurants; there's even a walk-in clinic in nearby. Needless to say we enjoyed our stay.

The Nautilus is themed to reminisce a submarine, the Nautilus features an upstairs bedroom and bathroom with boilerplate spiral stairs to the main salon and galley (kitchen) at ground level. The main salon/galley features a cozy electric fireplace, kitchenette and small dining table. FYI, the fire place is currently (as of Mar 15, 2020) down for repairs. We do have a small portable heater for the front room. This condo still a great value for close beach access.
Here's the fine print: The Nautilus has no beach view. It is on the backside of our building, and one cannot see the ocean from our condo. But step outside 20 paces and the whole panorama of the Oregon coast spreads out before you! Realistically speaking, The Nautilus is great for a short-term stay, but probably not 10-14 days...you will want to see the view! Also, the bathroom door is 24 inches wide and the spiral stairs are only 20 inches wide and are steep with 9 inch high steps. These could be physical challenges for some, and we want to fully disclose them. Now, go the the beach and enjoy!
Our property is located between the Pacific Ocean and Hwy 101.
  • It was a great experience . Thx to Dan and Teresa for making our trip easier 😉

  • This was a wonderful get-away for an Oregon winter. It offers easy access to great local restaurants... a short walk to the beach if you want to brave the wet... and a cozy place to get away from the bustle of the world. Check-in and out was easy. We didn't interact directly with hosts while we were there because they'd organized so well that there were no questions or confusion. It was a great time away.

FEATURED IN DWELL and SCHOOLHOUSE ELECTRIC. A gorgeous farm-setting just 15-minutes from downtown Portland; located on stunning Sauvie Island - a large river island and wildlife refuge - we are an organically-minded small farm and creative space. We love all the wild flora and fauna, and take great joy in wild spaces. A biking, birding, and aesthetic retreat from everyday life, we hope that each guest leaves feeling relaxed and inspired. The guest suite is modern, bright, and comfortable.
We have a gorgeous 300 square-foot guest suite (adjacent to our main house where we live) called "Tu Casa". It is located on our 7-acre+ farm on Sauvie Island - 10 miles from Downtown Portland, Oregon. Tu Casa is modern and bright and private, bursting with clean lines, lots of natural light, and a serene setting. You will have your own private bathroom, queen bed, small kitchenette for making cups of tea/coffee and light food prep, and lounge area with table workstation. There is also a covered patio with table and chairs just outside your french doors for your use alone. You can expect gorgeous views from every window and space on the property: an unreal view of St. Helens and the whole Cascade Range on a clear day and the surrounding orchards, vineyards, migrating birds, and farm animals everyday (we operate a sheep and alpaca fiber farm and both herds are right outside your windows). The sheep are known to linger right outside Tu Casa, making for a wonderfully sweet experience. Please do keep in mind that we have a hound dog and two full-of-joy toddlers, so some noise is common off and on between 8am-7pm, especially. There is also a rooster you can hear in the distance in the early mornings. If you are seeking true silence, our space is likely not a great fit.
In July and August, we have our upick blueberry season. You can pick to your heart's delight. We also usually have a load of farm fresh veggies and fruit for sale from our farm stand (onsite) from June 15-October 1. There is also a fabulous (packed on the weekends) sandy river beach about 15 minutes drive on island. So amazing. In Fall, three farms on the island have pumpkins, apple cider, and other Fall related stuff. Winter brings migratory birds, rain, and a real hunkering down feeling. Fog, fog horns, and the farmers sleeping in make it our second favorite season here. Whiskey by the fire and books. Spring is abound with bird watching, planting, and gorgeous sunrises. Biking happens year round.

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere. We are makers, artists and parents, and our land is a lively reflection of our creative life, often with projects brewing and children playing. A humming hive in a hidden wood on a bluff above the river.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • A wonderful stay! There were too many cute touches to count, and it didn’t take long for it to feel like coming home when I opened the door of that cute little hut. Hospitality was phenomenal, ivy is an interesting and very kind person. Very worth the long drive !

  • the mud hut was more than a dream.. it was such an amazing experience and perfect stay for me and my boyfriends first time in oregon!! the views were an extra plus!!! before arriving i was very clueless on how to start a fire so if you’re new to that as well, ivy is more than willing to complete your coziness with a tutorial on how to start and keep a fire going all night. truly, i am sad to leave but i know a piece of me has stayed there forever!! thank you so much for this beautiful stay, and we hope to stay with you in the future!!

  • This places is wonderful!!! The bathroom is not right in the hut but close. You do have to step outside to get to it but it was totally fine. The hut is so sweet, romantic, intimate and along with the hot tub we had such a relaxing stay here. The candle lights are beautiful and all the personal touches in the hut are just so incredible. 10/10 would stay again.

  • Magical. This is more than a place to stay, it's an experience. Ivy was a great host. The place warmed up very quickly with the little wood stove. The bed is not sprung, which I really like. Good veiw of the bridge from the hot tub. The sound of the trains going by adds a lovely ambience to a special experience.

The place was great for what we needed, which was a safe and cozy place to come back to and that allowed our dog along as well. We brought her own bed and she had no troubles. Would stay again!

A mid-century A-frame cabin with panoramic ocean views, perched on a hillside just 2 blocks above Oceanside Village and the beach. A quintessential Oregon get-away....quasi-rustic with all the right creature comforts.
The A-frame is a duplex, Unit A is the upper of two private 2 bed/1 bath units. It has a large private deck with amazing ocean views unobstructed from Cape Meares to Cape Lookout, and a wood burning stove for chilly nights. Under the rafters of the A-frame, you can enjoy amazing ocean views from most areas of the unit, including the upper loft bedroom. This cozy unit has the feel of a surf shack, or the quirky summer beach cabin from your childhood with all the lovely creature comforts - wifi, your own music streaming, good coffee, fluffy bathrobes and down comforters.
2 blocks from the A-frame, Oceanside Village features 2 good restaurants & a coffee shop, plus post office and fire station, that's about the extents of sleepy Oceanside and why it makes a great getaway! Nearby Cape Meares, Cape Lookout and Cape Kiwanda state parks offer hiking and nature exploration, or try your hand at crabbing or clam digging in nearby Netarts or Tillamook Bay. For the adventurous set, there is decent surfing, or even a parasailing launch site just up the hill. Or just curl and and read (or write) a book while taking in the view.
  • The view from the unit is amazing. Catch the sunset!! And we also grilled some shrimp and fish outside on the deck. Amazing trip!

  • This is a beautiful space with everything needed for an amazing getaway!

  • Emily’s place was the perfect little getaway for the night! The fireplace made it so nice and cozy and we loved the view and the deck it offered so we could sit outside and enjoy the sound of the waves.

  • This was the perfect stay for a quick get away from Portland. The town is quaint but has just what you need for a weekend away. The A frame has unparalleled views from inside the house and the deck. It was extra special to be able to sleep in the loft with the crashing waves and have the first thing you see in the morning be the expanse of the ocean

    Kelsey2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cutest little A frame with amazing views!

  • My wife and I stayed here for only a night, and honestly it was an experience I'll never forget. Maybe I've never been so spoiled by a view before, or maybe the place really is magic. Either way it was breathtaking. We plan to build a whole trip around coming back. I'd you're reading this and considering staying here, just do yourself a favor and do it. You can thank me in the guest book :)

    Beth2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s place is wonderful. Has a view to die for, decor is welcoming and fun. Bed in the loft was quite comfortable, linens very nice. Bathroom is cozy but well supplied. Sun was out while we were there but hanging out space was comfy and there were lots of games if we had needed them. Emily supplied helpful info about the area. Check in and check out were easy. We loved it, recommend it highly.

Relaxed + modern one bed basement space. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Every detail was thought, planned and carefully considered. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood is original to this 100 year old home! It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), and a tiny but efficient footprint were top priorities when we made this place. The space is stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • The stay was just what we needed. Such a cute space. Communication was great. Check in and out were flawless. The place was clean! Would definitely recommend choosing Anna & Jeremys place for your Portland stay!

Serenity, privacy, and convenience in the exclusive Eugene South Hills. Nestled in the treetops yet minutes to the U of Oregon/downtown/I-5, this 3 level 900+ sq ft dedicated guest suite has a private entrance, walls of windows, a woodburning fireplace, an outdoor hot tub, a king size bed, wi-fi, cable/Netflix, self check-in/check-out, keyless entry, new ductless HVAC, and a masseuse available. This is the #1 Airbnb in Eugene (per Google) used for honeymoons, getaways, and a music video.
The 900+ square foot guest suite is a split level converted library on the bottom floor of the main house with a bedroom/living area below and a dining/bathroom/kitchenette area above. It offers a separate private entrance, amazing views of the valley from tree top views from the deck, a comfortable couch and a king size bed. Deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife wander by in the 1/2 acre wooded backyard which you are welcomed to walk through. Take a nap in the hammock as you listen to the birds chirp around you. Relax in the outdoor hot tub as you gaze at the city lights at night or enjoy the romantic twinkling deck lights (and thanks to a new water resistant cantilever umbrella that covers the hottub, you can sit in it even when it's raining). Chat with Alexa and let her play some tunes, set your alarm, give you the weather forecast or the news, or recommend restaurants in the area. Or get cozy in front of the wood burning fireplace and LED candles as you binge watch HBO on Demand/Netflix on the HD TV. There's even a PS3 with some games and blue ray movies for ya. Some even use the air mattresses to sleep outside on the deck under the stars (and the twinkly balcony lights). Either way, many find themselves staying in simply to relax and enjoy the place. This suite is only used for guests so you won't feel like you are living in someone else's space or intruding on someone else's privacy. Plus with the new ductless HVAC you can set the temperature you want in the place. The house (and suite) is located on a quite cul de sac so parking/traffic is never a problem and the street is large enough for moving trucks. You can also use two comfortable queen size air mattress to add more beds to the place. And while the kitchen does not have a full oven or stove top, it does have a new gas grille, portable gas burner, microwave oven, small electric grill, and keurig coffee/tea maker. Plus the hot tub is on year around with a canopy umbrella that covers if if needed so that you can use it even when it rains. Also, be aware that the place is generally not available for pets as some folks in our family are allergic to pet dander. If you have a pet during your stay, the cleaning fee will be $100 due to the extensive cleaning required. And please keep all pets off furniture as that is hardest to clean. We've had wonderful guests leave us some nice comments. Here are just a few: - "This was my second time staying here and it will continue to be my go-to Airbnb any time I’m in Eugene." - "This place is so much more than any pictures could explain. We felt so safe, secure, and at one with nature. Thank you so much for letting us into your life." - "This place is the best AirBnB I have ever stayed at. Exceeded expectations and the hosts went above and beyond to make this place an amazing experience. I can’t recommend this place enough!" - "We were absolutely blown away by their place! Never have we had an experience like this one, being surrounded by the law books, novels, and not to mention the area itself ..." - "Wow, what a gorgeous spot in Eugene ... This has to be the best Airbnb in Eugene." - "If I could give Joseph and his place 10 stars, I would! This place is AMAZING!!" - "Our family came into Eugene and all had separate Airbnb spaces. We had the best and everyone hung out with us." - "Staying here was the icing on the cake for our Oregon trip! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was definitely a highlight of the trip." - "This was a perfect airbnb, and by far my favorite." - "I was tremendously pleased at how unique and fun this was, especially for the price. Beats the heck out of a hotel." - "All I can say is: do not pass up the chance to stay at this place. Every minute of our stay was just wonderful. " - "Joseph’s place was incredible. Period. If you can stay here, do it." We've been fortunate to host kind and appreciative guests and would be happy to welcome you as well. Pricing is based on Airbnb's automated smartpricing which determines a low price based on demand, etc. for similar rentals in Eugene. So the earlier you book, the better your price (usually). Of course, discounts for longer bookings are available. Plus, as an Airbnb user myself, I don't believe you should pay for extra people when the same space is used and will try to accommodate late check-outs or early check-ins without charge when possible but please let us know in advance so we can coordinate with other guests and housekeeping.
This is one of the most respected and exclusive neighborhoods in Eugene. Everyone is very friendly and you will absolutely get the serenity, privacy, and rest you are looking for so allow you to enjoy and make the most of your time in this wonderful small city.
  • Beautiful place to escape from every day life. Stayed overnight for our first baby free night. Amazing spot, perfectly tucked away on a hill top within the trees - far enough from the city to enjoy the peace and quiet, but close enough to adventure. Great amenities, comfortable bed and couch. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, especially at night in the crisp air, the city lights shining in the distance - the lights wrapping around the porch is a great touch. Intend to return very soon!

Lovely 2 br. cottage nestled beside a pond w water feature. Kitchen, open sleeping loft with skylights, bath w shower and washer/dryer. Lots of natural light. Can accommodate an entire family comfortably. Private entry on lg. lot through gated backyard.
Nestled in the back corner of a large lot under the canopy of a beautiful mimosa tree, this private cottage offers a full kitchen with sit-up bar, a full bath with a washer/dryer, and a sleeping loft with crow's nest. It's perfect for a couple, two couples, or a small family.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store. And all of this just 15 minutes from downtown.
  • Great host and an amazing space that is within a short drive of downtown. Spacious enough for four people with a great kitchen, living room, bathroom, and loft. I would definitely recommend this place.

Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.

  • super comfy and cozy little stay! very convenient location with a quiet park across the street.

    Liberty2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer’s place was clean, quiet (we barely heard anything from upstairs), and close to mass transit and numerous shops and restaurants. Checking in and out was a breeze. The bed was very soft and the convertible sofa was firm, which was a nice contrast. Extra towels, bedding, and supplies were at hand. The only thing to note is the mirror in the bathroom; both my sister and I barely clear 5 feet and so we could not utilize the mirror without a step stool.

There are 2 ways to walk to public transportation/downtown: - A 200-step staircase near our house. This will take you to SW Broadway Street. This puts you on Portland State University's downtown campus and is the fastest way to get to Max (light rail), bus, and the rest of downtown. - A short walk through a gated community to a 50-step staircase. This is the best way if you don't like the stairs so much. This will get you to another part of the PSU campus and the beautiful South Park Blocks. You can continue walking to catch the Street Car (light rail) on SW 10th and Market. 4. The best way to get to my place from airport is to take Taxi, Uber or Lyft, since it is not convenient to walk up the hill with luggage. The cheaper option is to take Max from airport ($2.50 per person) and get off downtown, then Uber or Lyft to my place (about $6). Once you have arrived at the front door, there are no steps. You can roll you luggage right into the room.
Southwest Hills neighborhood is a great mix of suburban and urban living. Many of the homes are built on the side of the hill and are cantilevered over the forest floor below. As many of the streets in this area wind through the tree-lined forest, this makes the Southwest Hills an interesting place to drive, and a serene and beautiful place to live. From my place, you could enjoy a panoramic view of downtown Portland, and on a clear day it is possible to see Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Saint Helens in the distance.
  • I highly recommend it

PLEASE READ "OTHER THINGS TO NOTE" SECTION RE: PETS & NEW PET FEE! We've sound proofed the suite as much as possible so you shouldn't hear much noise from your airbnb neighbor (we have two airbnb suites in this home) or from the main house, but if you have concerns at all, feel free to book another place for everyone's peace of mind. We have reconfigured the bed in this room for more privacy, which removed the bed side lamps. We will update photos soon!
Our neighborhood is located in NE Bend. We are 3 short miles from downtown with Mt Bachelor 12 miles to the SW, Sunriver 20 miles South and Smith Rock 25 miles North. We are dog friendly. You will have a small fenced area for your dog. The fenced side yard does provide access to your unit as well as another airbnb unit so please be aware. We ask both sets of airbnb guest to close gates behind them but you will want to make sure yours are closed as well as be respective of other guests access. There is also a 16 acre dog park (Pine Nursery) about a 1/2 mile from our home. If you like to run, walk or mountain bike, we are about 1/4 mile from the canal trail which can take you a couple of miles towards town, or many many miles towards Smith Rock. During the summer when the canal is full, it's absolutely beautiful! Not only is your fenced in area good for keeping the pup in, feel free to store your mountain bike or skis, etc there. We are are a quiet family but please remember that this room is part of a home so some level of noise is to be expected. We've worked hard to mitigate this to make your stay as comfortable and quiet as possible.
We live in a quiet residential neighborhood. It's very quiet and safe. Everyone keeps to themselves but we do have some friendly neighbors, however they won't bother you a bit!
  • Great space for a weekend visit! Easy to find, safe and quiet neighborhood. Everything you need inside the suite! Perfect for bringing your pup along for the ride.

Barney B's Cornett is a brand new cozy, fully furnished private barn-remodel that has it all! King bed in the lofted sleeping quarters, kitchette, spacious bath and peaceful views. Not to mention the privacy. Very very private. Minutes from the amazing Samuel Boardman State Park, City of Brookings and Gold Beach. Pets ok upon approval*, Refundable cleaning fee*
  • This place is a little gem of a sanctuary. Off the beaten path just outside of Brookings for a more private setting with outstanding views, sunrises, deer, and the occasional barn kitty. The space itself is full of light, ease and comfort. We will definitely be recommending it to friends and family and will ourselves be back to nest and explore more of the huge coast line and beyond. Mary was thoroughly responsive and easily available if we needed. Overall it was a fantastic way to enjoy Southern Oregon and feel right at home in her cozy accommodations.

    Holly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous space! It was clean, really unique and had such a beautiful view of the mountains and stars. This will definitely be my go-to when coming back to Brookings!

    Kayla2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic nook tucked away on the Southern Oregon coast!

    Kellin2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's space was lovely. It was nice and quiet, just perfect for what we wanted. This space was eclectic and we felt right at home. There were touches that made us feel safe and secure in a new environment 😊 I would highly recommend this space, as it was clean, quiet, and easy to navigate.

    Dari2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The space for guests is in a small pole barn type building that has been stylishly converted on the inside to a bright & airy studio with a loft space for sleeping. The space is really great for couples on a getaway. King bed with comfortable linens & pillows. Lots of light, high ceilings & a wall of windows facing East, which allows perfect view of the sunrise from the loft in the AM and a wooded valley below. The pellet stove heats the space via the wall thermostat. It kicked on at night automatically when it got below the 65 degree setting. You’ll hear the pellets trickle into the firebox like little pebbles falling, shortly before it fires up. Cell service there with Verizon was great, Wi-Fi is excellent, & we watched a Netflix on our laptop in bed with no issues. Mary is super friendly and knows tons about the area if you have any questions. We had some fun chatting about plants & the great weather there. Mary has put a lot of work into making the place comfortable. Dutch Bro’s for our lattes as usual when we are away from our home machine. Try them if your from out of state & love your latte, but hate Starbucks. We ate at Black Trumpet Bistro for dinner & Rose Compass Cafe for breakfast, and can endorse both.

    Leah2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a gorgeous space in a beautiful setting

    Carol2020-02-21T00:00:00Z

  • Barbara went above and beyond to help us have a great trip to Eugene. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone traveling to Eugene.

    Summer2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cute little house is fully functional with a great kitchen and bath area. I shopped for food an incredible market just a few blocks away. Cooked and enjoyed a feeling of home while traveling on business. I was unaware that the queen bed was a sofa bed. Barbara made it up for me and it was super comfy with an added soft mattress she had especially for visitors like me who like a soft bed. I slept well and was warm and safe. Parking is just outside and safe as well. I appreciated all the special touches and although I’m not a TV watcher usually I did enjoy the Netflix for guests to enjoy. Thank you Barbara and family. I really enjoyed my stay. Andrea

    Andrea2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t let the exterior fool you, there’s a little cottage in the back that is perfect for a short stay. I’m sure their yard is beautiful in the spring too, as the bulbs are just starting to pop up. we only stayed one night, but we’d stay again!

    Kyla2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I was in town for a conference downtown and needed a simple place to stay for a night. Barbara’s place was perfect! Very clean, in a quiet location that felt safe, and Barbara was helpful and quick with communication. It’s a studio so it’s not very spacious, but there’s a full kitchen if you need and they left a wealth of resources if you have time to explore Eugene. It’s perfect for a safe place to sleep and keep your things if you’re going to be out all day. It’s super close to an amazing bakery called Hideaway Bakery as well.

    Lennie2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place so was quaint and private. I was able to relax and enjoy my time alone working. There was a bathtub and shower which I was not expecting in a little cottage. That was a nice added bonus. Loved that there was silverware and extra items in the cottage. It was a great place to stay with no issues. I would definitely recommend this place.

Relax and revive in this artistic 'cabin' with wonderful views of historic Glenn Creek from every room. An architectural dream, you enter this lodge style home through a pivoting hobbit style front door with hardware from the 1800's.
Highlights of this original home include a gourmet kitchen with labradorite granite counters, 800 year old juniper tree spiral stair case, huge beams and exposed rafters, a sauna, and a romantic wood stove. Also each upstairs bedroom has a hanging bed with three 8 foot skylights above for indoor star gazing. Original artworks from local artists are throughout the home. Many pleasantries await the curious such as embedded fossils in the cracked mud walls. Nestled amongst towering fir and cedar trees, with windows everywhere, you'll feel and see nature's presence. This home site has a remarkably peaceful way about it. Check out more pictures at www.belowthefallslodge.com Recently featured in Southern Oregon Magazine and KCBY 11 TV's ~In Focus~ 'Goin' Green' and Oregon's Solar Home Tour, this is a unique 'green' home. This home was built with environmentally friendly materials. Building with little impact on the surroundings was very important to us during construction. The myrtle hardwood floor in the kitchen and living room was milled on site which came from trees that stood where the house is now. Same story for the beautiful maple flooring in the ½ bath. All of the large beams and fir flooring came from two 4' thick 104 year old douglas fir trees which also stood and were milled where the house is now. The fir trees sprouted after the last forest fire that came through the canyon. One of our neighbors fell a sixty five year old redwood that was over six feet thick! We used some of it as a wonderful wainscot paneling throughout the house. All of the finishes used are no or low VOC. Surrounding the house is native vegetation, huge trees and a few herbs and spices for cooking. You'll enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with labradorite granite counters. The kitchen island has a new five burner gas stove with a convection oven and warming oven. The island has plenty of granite and wood counter space. Hanging from the exhaust hood are stainless, non-stick, and cast iron cookware. Also included are coffee and a grinder, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, utensils, chef knives, glasses and frosty cocktail glasses in the freezer. The dining room table has a river view and can seat eight. There is also seating for three at the island bar. From the kitchen you can visit with the folks in the living room thanks to the open floor plan. Beside the wood stove are two chairs and the futon couch with reading lamp. A CD changer and TV with a DVD player and VHS machine are in the downstairs bedroom. Bring your favorite videos or browse our selection of movies. The property has 150 feet of creek frontage with great views of Glenn creek, the forest and distant cliffs. Enjoy wildlife viewing with River Dippers, Chipmunks, Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, Screech Owls, Pileated Wood Peckers, Elk, an occasional Bald Eagle or River Otter and other wildlife from the house and back deck. Build a fire and have lunch on the nearby picnic table and benches.
The narrow canyon valley below Golden and Silver Falls is wonderful. I grew up here moved away, and came back for the natural beauty and solitude of the Oregon rain forest. This area has been a favorite of mine since I was a youngster. In 2005 when the bare land became available I jumped on it and started a three year art project which became Below the Falls Lodge.
  • This home was absolutely lovely and fully stocked with everything and anything you could imagine needing, we were blown away and so so grateful to have had the pleasure of staying here. From the beautiful scenery, the river, the beautiful rooms and skylights, hanging beds , stocked kitchen, just amazing. We didn’t want to leave.

  • This place is a dream stay! Shane recommended a hike just up the house to see some waterfalls and they were so breathtaking and amazing! The house itself is so cozy and looks like it’s straight off my Pinterest board. We will definitely come back to visit! It was nice to disconnect from devices for a while and my husband said he got the best night sleep he’s had in months on the bed we slept on. Highly highly highly recommend this place

Our relaxing ocean getaway is mere feet from one of the most scenic beaches on the west coast. Many comfortable beds, a large kitchen, living room, and wood burning stove will make your vacation feel like a home away from home!
This excellent beach house is located 100 yards from the beach in stunning Pacific City. Only a block from the Pelican Pub and less than a mile to the tip of Cape Kiwanda, there are no better coastal getaways then you'll find here.
Our house is just a stones throw from one of the most scenic beaches in Oregon. There is an award winning brewery - The Pelican Pub - a taco/burger stand - BJ's - a great surf shop with board and wetsuits rentals and sales, a pizza place - Doryland - and a small market with a gift shop only a block north of the house. On the other side of the river, there is a great Mexican food place called Los Caporales, a dive bar known as The Sportsman, a quaint breakfast place called The Village Coffeeshop, excellent healthy food at Grateful Bread, a gas station and a supermarket down the road. Everything you need is at your fingertips!
  • My second time at Colins place. Location takes the cake but we are so comfortable there and always have a wonderful stay. Will be back again for sure

  • Amazing, beautiful home only steps from the beach and Cape Kiwanda. The house is very clean, homey feeling, with lots of amenities and space to relax. It has a fenced backyard, and is only a block and a half from the beach. Cape Kiwanda is a 5 min walk away, as are several restaurants and the main grocery option in town. We saw several deer wandering the property and rabbits too. I would highly recommend Colin's place for anyone hoping to see this wonderful part of the OR coast.

  • We had a quick, lovely stay at Colin’s place. We didn’t use much because of the length of our stay, but the kitchen was very well stocked. The house was very spacious and as described. The proximity to the beach was fantastic, too! We’ll definitely be back for our next Pacific City trip!

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in trendy Southeast Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf! -- but cozy, bright and a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our newly-renovated, cozy studio includes a new queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with natural light, even on the grayest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. It's best suited for guests seeking space to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot" this may not be the best choice. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of our favorite local restaurants.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland--Division Street and Hawthorne Blvd. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. Our location is best for guests wanting to experience Portland from a local's perspective; If you'd rather be in closer proximity to downtown touristy areas, we may not be the best option. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater, Blue Star Donuts, Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore, as well as a myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is animal- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 5yo daughter and toddler son. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood!
  • Melissa’s space was perfect for our Portland getaway. It’s within walking distance to some local restaurants (we ate at ‘off the waffle’ twice! Dont miss out) , shops, and a quick uber ride from anywhere in Portland. Her space was very clean, thoughtful, and just the right size for two people. She checked in w us to see if we needed anything which I have never had a host do. We didnt get to use the outdoor space much- since It was my first visit we were out exploring but when I come back, I know for sure ill utilize it. It’s just an all around quiet, beautiful, and peaceful vibe. You won’t be disappointed

  • We had a wonderful time! There were so many thoughtful touches that made our experience an amazing one. From the delicious ground coffee to the book full of local restaurant suggestions, Melissa goes above and beyond. The location was perfect. We walked to Division and/or Hawthorne Street daily, admiring the quiet neighbourhood full of unique, colourful homes along the way. If you are looking to stay in Portland, I don’t know why you would stay anywhere else. :)

  • Cozy & Cleeeaaan studio in Portland. Beautiful scenery with windows on the top. Even though Portland was almost all rainy when I was there, I felt so happy and comfy thanks to the studio. I even thought it was much better to be caught in the rain so that I could stay in the studio more with the mood! Thanks for letting me stay for 3 nights. Everything was so lovely.
