Places to stay in North Carolina
Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
Corona virus COVID-19 note: rest assured our studio apartment is thoroughly disinfected and all items are re-washed and dried w/ high heat in between each reservation. A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • Jakub & Maria’s place is truly a sanctuary. It is such a cozy comforting space surrounded by nature within a little neighborhood. When you use the 2 screen doors it feels like a porch. It’s a quiet location but you’re just blocks from bustling Haywood. Jakub & Maria respond promptly and provided great recommendations for food and hiking. The bed is comfortable and the outdoor seating options are lovely. It’s a very welcoming environment. Highly recommend!

Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike the easy nearby trail along the creek into Pisgah National Forest or drive 4 miles up to the blue ridge parkway for some of the best hikes in the area! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator to turn on lights and charge cell phones, a water cooler for drinking and washing, and a propane heater if its cold. We provide an outdoor shower with a solar shower camping bag. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly. The outdoor fire pit is a short stroll from the cabin for making s'mores- bring your own firewood. There is a charcoal grill next to the cabin if you like to grill out. Check out our sweet 2 person swing with epic views! The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen we put out only during the warmer months). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. CORONA VIRUS UPDATE-PLEASE NOTE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICED- We are recommending you bring your own bedding including pillows/queen size sheets/blankets or sleeping bags. We are spraying down all surfaces in the cabins with a bleach solution and taking the necessary precautions to disinfect everything. We will have bedding available if you cannot bring your own. Bring a cooler with ice in it for your perishables (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. We provide basic cookware, a tea pot, coffee press and a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved, dogs of any size are welcome! Dogs cannot be left in the cabin unattended. If you can't find the dates you want, check out our other awesome cabins by clicking on our Airbnb profile.
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails nearby make this neighborhood special!
  • Super cool spot!!

    Sophia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views and very quiet! The cabin was very clean and cozy, just make sure to bring an extra blanket if you go during winter months since it gets chilly up on the hill, but otherwise awesome!

    Michael2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Love the off the grid feels of this cabin. Views and all around spot of this place is the kind of quiet I needed. Was lucky enough to have a perfect snowfall while I was there. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect weekend.

    Alexis2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This Off-Grid cabin is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to appreciate the outdoors and relax!

    Jordan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view, very beautiful place to stay and enjoy the serene feel.

    Jason2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Simple, beautiful, and quaint! Bring your own french press or coffee bags, extra blankets came in handy for dogs to lay on, and foldable table/chairs were perfect!

    Danika2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and SUPER cozy cabin! The price for the views cannot be beat!

    Yadira2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I loved our stay at this Pisgah Retreat! We ended up staying a day shorter than planned and were bummed we weren’t going to be there another night! The drive was a little tricky but the directions provided were very clear and we found it with no problem. We’ll definitely be back, but next time we’ll choose a time when it’s a little warmer so we can enjoy the fire pit and outdoor seating.

Our 128 sq ft tiny house is located on Wildwoods Community Farm, a 4-acre nonprofit permaculture farm and dedicated tiny house community. At Wildwoods, our mission is to educate the public on the various facets of sustainable living. We're also only a short 10-minute drive to downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Whether you come for the experience of staying in a tiny house, or just need a cozy place to lay your head, we'll do our best to make sure that your stay is rejuvenating and memorable :)
____________________________________ **COVID-19 Update: As a superhost, the safety and comfort of my guests is my main priority. I have been following the CDC's protocols for disinfecting a space, and want to reassure guests that I will be very thorough in cleaning and preparing the house for you. I also have a flexible cancelation policy to accommodate changing circumstances. ____________________________________ To be able to fit all of the necessities of living into a space that is less than 250 square feet requires careful design and planning. We utilized every square foot in carefully crafting this 128 square foot home that's both functional and beautiful. The home contains a few distinct 'rooms': you first enter into the living room, with an adjustable futon, desk/work space, closet, and a growing book & movie collection. Then you walk back towards the kitchen, with spices, cooking oils, and all the cookware you'd need to make a home-cooked meal for yourselves. The adjacent bathroom contains a toilet and a shower with plenty of hot water on demand. And above you is the wonderfully cozy sleeping loft, with a super comfy queen-sized memory foam bed and window that you can prop open to enjoy the breeze and sounds wafting in from the farm. Undoubtedly, this is a great place to unplug and reconnect with nature: The farm itself is beautiful, and becomes more so every day as we continue to build and cultivate the land. There are also hiking trails just a short walk from the front door. On the other hand, we don't eschew modern conveniences--guests can stay connected on our high-speed fiber wifi :)
There is a lot to explore in this area, but notable attractions in the immediate area are: -Honeysuckle Tea House, serving up teas grown on-site, baked goods, smoothies and occasionally some live music (now open for the season!) -Maple View Farm and Dairy (a local fave for fresh ice cream) -Pickards Mountain Eco-Institute -Keith Arboretum: one of the largest collections of woody plants east of the Mississippi There are also many nice trails and hikes at the nearby Carolina North Forest, and some of the best views in the Piedmont at the Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area in Hillsborough. For a nice day trip, the nearby town of Saxapahaw (20 min away) on the Haw River is a gem, especially on Saturdays with its bustling farmers' market full of food, music, and activities.
  • Brandon’s place is was clean comfortable and super cozy. Brandon was communicative and friendly. I hope to come back and stay a few more days in the summertime!

    Lisa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house we stayed in was stylish. Our first tiny house experience. Beautiful farm. Brandon accommodated our needs, stayed up late until we arrived and let us stay a bit later. Loved the experience! Definitely a must have for your bucket list.

    Lori2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was even better than I could have expected! Extremely well designed and thought out. It was a novelty but was very homey and cozy. We had been on the road for a few weeks and it was the perfect end to our journey. Comfy bed, used the grill, and watched birds! Brandon was a great host and was very helpful and nice to talk to!

    Caroll2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon is a fantastic host. We stayed in the same tiny house a few years ago and it was such a memorable visit, we decided to do it again. It's a great experience if you're looking to do something off the beaten path and enjoy Chapel Hill/Carrboro.

  • Great little place! My daughter and I stayed here for a night and it was very comfortable, convenient, quiet, and clean. Brandon is easy to work with and has a great list of local activities and restaurants. This listing will be on the top of our list when we return to the area. Thank you for sharing your tiny house!

    Catherine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our tiny house stay was a great way to have a relaxing getaway. Brandon was very welcoming and shared his experiences with building tiny homes. Conveniently located not too far from downtown areas but far enough away to find some tranquility. Highly recommend staying here.

  • We had never use Air BNB before and asked questions before booking. We really appreciate the great communication and how nice they were to answer our questions especially given how last minute our trip was. I don't always sleep well on a bed that is not my own, but we both slept great. This was the perfect size for us and was very clean. And the hot tub was the icing on the cake! We are already looking at when we can go back. :) I would be happy to stay there or in another location of theirs. In case it helps anyone else decide, this location feels very comfortable. And it is a very short drive to go to Wrightsville Beach. Certainly recommend !!

    Amber2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay with Tim & Carrie. It was the perfect escape, a short drive from both downtown Wilmington & Wrightsville Beach. The hot tub is incredible & was such a great way to be outside on a sunny, but chilly day. It was nice to stay in a quiet neighborhood, away from the hustle & bustle of things. It was also incredible have a closed in yard for the fuzzy child. We left feeling relaxed & recharged!

Come enjoy seclusion and mountain views in this sweet little off grid cabin tucked back in the woods of our 125 acre private gated mountain top escape near Pisgah National Forest. Hike 150 yards down a flat gravel road to get to the cabin for a retreat from your normal day to day life. Disconnect and enjoy the mountain view, nature and solitude. Bring your dogs. Bring a book and lounge in the hammock. Enjoy the simpler things.
This off grid cabin is located on 125 acres of private land that is gated and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. It is 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to the top of Mount Pisgah. It is close to all of our favorite hiking spots and swimming holes on the Blue Ridge Parkway! An easy 25 minute drive to Asheville and all of it's amazing food and breweries. The cabin is 100% off the grid: that means solar panels for limited electricity needs, propane heaters help keep the cabin cozy during the winter, and an outdoor shower area. Bring your own bedding and towels. Enjoy our 3 burner propane cook top for cooking, granite countertops, a sink with a water dispenser for drinking water, board games and a very comfortable queen size bed. Lounge in the giant hammock under the trees. We provide a solar shower (5 gallon camping shower bag) that can be heated in the sun and used year around (mind you the shower is outside so plan accordingly with weather). In the summer months we have a heated rain water collection shower that we try to keep up and running. It is temperamental so we keep the solar shower as our primary shower and consider it a bonus if the rain water shower is functioning! We also provide a list of other places to shower if you are staying for a longer period of time and crave a long shower or it is too cold t shower outdoors. The cabin has mountain views through the trees and is tucked back in the woods on a flat gravel road that you will have to walk on to get to the house. You will stop and park near the out house. We provide a wagon to help get your things to the cabin. The outhouse is about 150 yards from the cabin with floor to ceiling glass windows looking out through the tree tops...definitely the best view you have ever seen from an outhouse! The outhouse is cleaned out weekly on Mondays sometime between 8-11 am by a service truck. Our Goal Zero solar generator provides limited electricity to run the solar lights inside the cabin. If it has been cloudy, then the solar generator may not get charged enough to run the lights. We try to keep lanterns and flashlights around as back ups...but it's best if you bring along your own incase the solar generator runs out of power. We do have a back up solar generator that we keep charged in case it stays cloudy for days so please let us know if you need it. During the winter, the space is heated with a propane heater and can stay pretty warm. If they are calling for below freezing temperatures, I would recommend bringing extra blankets or warm sleeping bags. Bring some wood and make s'mores in our fire pit! Bring a cooler for your perishables since we do not have a fridge. We love all dogs of any size and welcome them to come on vacation with you! They will need to be left in crates if left indoors while you are out adventuring in town. We prefer they don't get on our furniture. Bring dog beds along for them. We are happy to be able to provide a dog friendly space since we too are dog owners and lovers....we just request you clean up after them, relocate their poops to the woods, and be sure to sweep up their extra dog hair before you leave.
Our mountain top escape is at the foot of Mount Pisgah and backs up to Pisgah National Forest. The roads are steep, but amazingly paved and engineered. This property was originally intended to be a housing development, but we have purchased it and put it into a Forestry Management Program with EcoForesters. Future plans include a trail system. We have one other Airbnb on this property but they are very far away from each other.

  • The Hammock House was everything we could have wanted and more! It was super cozy and offered the most beautiful morning views. We appreciated the location and how it felt secluded but was still a quick drive into downtown Asheville. Haley was great to communicate with and provided a great handbook prior to our stay so we were prepared. We will definitely be back in the future! It was awesome!

    Laura2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • My (now) fiancé and I stayed in hammock house and let me tell you it was the perfect place to propose and then spend the next few days off the grid, making fires in the pit, hanging in the suspended hammock, waking up to glorious sunrise and having a coffee on a chilly morning on the front porch. Everything about this place is awesome, from Haley’s communication, to the detailed thoughtful touches put on the cabin, to the suggestions (do yourself a favor and hit up the sauna house...haven’t been that relaxed since visit the secret lagoon in Iceland). Book this place, you’ll be psyched that you did. 10/10

Great little cabin, perfect for quarantine/self isolation.Directly on buck creek. A stocked trout stream. It is set on a 7 acre property, surrounded by 1000s of acres of pisgah National forest. No neighbors , just wildlife. There are no cases of corona virus in the area. The stores are well stocked with everything. I am offering discounted rates. I am also offering a grocery, etc.delivery service. No need for you to leave the property. Why not make a vacation out of your self isolation.
  • Just go ahead and click book, you won’t regret it! The drive up to the cabin is beautiful. There’s a few tight curves, but not bad at all! Follow David’s directions and it’ll lead you straight to the cabin. You will not have cell service. The cabin has WiFi and works perfectly fine. It is also pet friendly which is a HUGE plus! You may think, ugh pet friendly it’s going to smell like a dirty dog...........you would have no idea that it was a pet friendly cabin. It smells really good and it is super clean! The creek is literally 5 steps from the front door. It is the most peaceful sound to fall asleep to at night and wake up to in the morning. David is an awesome host; he messaged us during our stay to make sure everything was going well and if we needed anything and responds back pretty quick. We arrived late and he had the lights on and heat on for us. He has 4 dogs of his own and they are the sweetest babies! Love them if you get the chance! The cabin is perfectly placed between Asheville and Boone; and you get the winding roads in between if you’re into that kind of thing. Book the cabin, enjoy the creek, love the dogs.

  • Very clean cabin. Great area. Secluded but very close to Asheville, wine vineyards, cute little towns, and beautiful hiking. David was an awesome host and very helpful and super hospitable. It was a perfect “tiny home” for my husband and I to stay in. Thank you so much for this peaceful and relaxing vacation!

  • clean quiet place in the woods, sounds of the creek while you sit on the deck, everything you need to overnight while you enjoy the surrounding area

  • David’s cabin made our trip to North Carolina memorable- it’s nestled peacefully in the mountains adjacent to a stream. Definitely a great place to escape and spend some time in nature. Would recommend to anyone looking for a calm and beautiful place to stay! Would love to come back.

  • This was a great find!!! David’s place was perfect for a quiet getaway! He was a friendly and accommodating host and greeted me when I arrived! He provided great suggestions on where to go. The house is super cozy and I love that it was right on the creek. The house is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Mitchell and so many hiking spots. This might become my future weekend getaway ;) I can’t wait to go back!

Welcome! Our modern suite offers a cozy bed-n-bath combo with private entry from the deck. Watch Netflix on TV from the bed, breathe easy with a diffuser, store leftovers in the mini fridge, and wake up to Keurig coffee in the morning! The memory foam mattress is also new. We are located in a quiet, wooded neighborhood near the “Crossroads” of US-1 and I-40, just a short drive to anywhere in the Triangle. We can give plenty of local recommendations, too. We look forward to hosting you!
We love our house and do our best to make it nice. Everything is newly remodeled. We are happy to provide essentials for your stay - towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. Note: the TV has Netflix and YouTube but not cable or other services. The Modern suite also has an electric air unit mounted for both hot and cold air. The remote is in the desk drawer. Please turn the unit off when not in use (like when you go out). The house also has central air, but the electric unit provides extra comfort and control.
Our neighborhood is wooded and peaceful. There is no traffic or roadway noise. Most of the houses were built in the 1970s. Please park in the driveway if it doesn't have other cars or on the street directly in front of the house.
  • Beautiful and quiet! Everything was perfectly decorated! Very close to town. We loved our stay!

  • If I could give this place 7 stars- I would. Set in the perfection location with multiple eateries in close proximity. This place is clean and has a quaint vibe. In the event I return for an overnight stay in Raleigh, I will check here first.

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) rustic 'stuga'. We live 20 minutes from Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. Folks love our place for the homemade character of the cabin, mountain views and interesting farm setting. It is perfect for couples or a single traveler seeking minimalist simplicity. Doggies welcome too! Un-plug in style while enjoying proximity to major sights, with starry night skies and a sunrise over our orchards and gardens.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our 'home hill' of 2.5 acres covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby. The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater and a Turkish wood cookstove, the cabin is tight and heats up easily in winter. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. We are slowly building an outhouse & seasonal bathhouse close to the cabin. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing and music retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many folks come to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for it's interesting array of plants.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 40+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • A quaint and peaceful cabin tucked in the North Carolina mountains makes for a true unplug and relax experience. There’s lots to do locally and the wood burning stove was a true treat to use on the snowy, cold night we stayed. It was perfect for keeping the cabin warm and cooking on- we didn’t need the space heater that was provided. It was a nice treat and getaway.

    Megan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cute little cabin was an amazing getaway! It was so cozy and even though it was tiny, it felt so spacious! It was so peaceful and beautiful, especially in the morning when the hills were covered in fog and the birds were singing.

    Denise2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The hilltop cabin is adorable and the views are wonderful. Not only can you see the mountains from the kitchen table, but if you walk just a bit up the hill to the left of the cabin you'll have an even better view. The cabin was clean, easy to find, and stayed warm all through the night.

  • A wonderful experience!

    Sarah2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our brief stay was comfortable and cozy, despite the cooler temps and rain outside, thanks to a space heater and the fluffiest comforter ever. The space is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and has tons of books for your longer stay. We really appreciated the local magazines and the map of the property for planning our time there. Thank you guys!

The "Miss Molly" treehouse has been the subject of many discussions as possibly the best treehouse in the Carolina's. Its a roomy 220 sq. ft and features Heat/Ac, Shower, Toilet, TV and DVD player. It has a very comfortable nook where you can enjoy the TV, a good book, or even take a short nap. The large deck offers a great view over the property and has two rocking chairs as well as a bistro table for eating at.

  • This is a nice quiet place to stay for a weekend if you're wanting to visit Wilmington and relax.

    Kyle2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • It is hard to find a nice hot tub, comfy bed, and fenced in backyard for our pup for such a value. There's no real kitchen, no washer/dryer, no extra throws, and the bathroom is pretty small, but if you focus on the awesome nights in the hot tub and plan accordingly, this is a great option in Wilmington.

    Rhonda2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Carrie and Tim's place was perfect! Neither my girlfriend nor I had ever been to Wilmington and just wanted a nice place for a weekend recharge and the cottage was the perfect space - clean, nicely decorated with the perfect amenities, and just a short drive to the river or beach. It was great to be able to come back and swing in the hammocks or relax in the hot tub. The check-in and check-out processes were easy and Tim and Carrie were quick to respond when I needed anything - even when I needed the temperature adjusted in the middle of the night. Would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely book here again.

    Rykia2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Place was clean and perfect for our stay! Hot tub was especially nice after a marathon.

    Briahna2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little space. The only complaint I have is that I booked this space for two nights for a business trip, and on the second night it was supposed to snow across NC. I had to drive back to Raleigh the morning of my checkout and knew the roads would likely be bad and icy in the early morning, so I asked if I could cancel the second night and have it refunded to safely drive home before the bad weather got here. Hosts would not accommodate, claiming “I can’t control the weather.” neither can I, which is why I am asking :) Had to leave one night early and lose money on the second night in order to get home safely. I understand disallowing refunds for frivolous reasons, but there are certain things that people can’t control that deserve some leniency. Otherwise, the space itself is very nice.

The artist/owner built cottage is a quiet sanctuary located to downtown, the Biltmore Estate, West Asheville shops, an incredible bakery and restaurants. Enjoy handmade pottery, local art, all cotton bedding and fresh eggs within this adorable Moroccan-influenced getaway. The River Arts District, French Broad River and shops are within walking distance. The Admiral and The Bull and a Beggar are fantastic. Owl Bakery, Hole donuts, Whist, Flora and Villagers are superb. The Walk and Taco Billy - casual dining. Enjoy! This is a legal permitted homestay through the city of Asheville. #16-05429
*Permitted homestay*16-05428 Your own cottage ( no shared space other than patio- with me) in the heart of East West Asheville. River Arts district is 5 minutes away by car. Unique two-story cottage built by owner. It looks and feels like a house you may find in Morocco or Majorca . It's only four years old , but built to look like an old villa. Heating and air conditioning on both levels, ceiling fan above bed. 100 % cotton bedding and throws are throughout the house. All natural cleaning products, shampoo, and soaps.Previously named The Mermaid Cottage. 5 minutes from Biltmore Estate. Walking distance to Haywood Rd. Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Short Street Cakes, The Apple Orchard Cider house, Walk and my favorite for dinner, 5 star restaurant The Admiral or delicious gluten free eclectic- Bim Beri Bon are walking distance or a 3 minute drive. Whist is a very cool paper goods and many cute things store on Haywood a few blocks from the house. Two cats, Rue (gray) and Gingko (black) live on the property and sometimes wander around the cottage door looking for an ear scratch. Chickens also live on the south side of the property. Cats and dogs live in my house- the blue one.
This neighborhood of mostly bungalows is friendly, low key, just within walking distance to Haywood Road's restaurants and Carrier Park. Places like The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Taco Billy and Bim Beri Bon are all above average.
  • This place is just so cute and comfortable! It was awesome walking in, and the rooming is very cozy. I’d definitely come again!

  • Camille was so hospitable and lovely, as was her beautiful cottage. She made sure to check on us during our stay and left delicious snacks. We highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away and relax, while still being located close to exceptional restaurants and bakeries.

  • I could not recommend a more perfect home to stay at in the Asheville area. It is close to anything you could want to do in the Asheville area and is in a lovely neighborhood. The house itself had so much charm and so many thoughtful touches. The decor was unique and really made the stay feel like an experience. There was an abundance of amenities (snacks, toiletries, etc.) and Camille made us feel so welcome. Everything was seamless and staying at this home was the perfect end to our Asheville vacation. I would recommend this AirBnB to anyone and everyone visiting Asheville!

  • The Moroccan cottage was amazing. It felt like vacation from the minute I walked in! I will stay there again.

    Tammy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I'm still glowing after my stay at Camille's gorgeous cottage. I needed a restful and inspiring vacation, and this certainly gave me all that and more. The space is both calming and uplifting, cozy and beautiful. Camille has added all sorts of thoughtful details (the heated blanket was beyond!) that make this by far my favorite Airbnb I've stayed at. The pictures don't do it justice (and they're gorgeous pictures), so if you're looking at this listing do yourself a favor and book a stay right now.

    Gina2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Mermaid Cottage was my favorite Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. Two of us went for a weekend getaway and loved every minute there. The decor was exceptional with every little detail there to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. Camille left us a sweet note with snacks and was so friendly when we ran into each other on the way to the car for dinner. We said within a few hours of being there that we would tell all of our friends to stay there when they come to Asheville. I read many reviews before staying there and can tell anyone that this is a must-stay spot! It’s in an excellent location with tons of great restaurants, it feels very safe, amenities are perfect and aplenty (soap, snacks, blankets, towels etc.), and the hostess is excellent. We knew we could get in touch with Camille for anything we needed, but she was not at all in our way. This was the most wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to book the Mermaid Cottage again. Thanks so much!

    Lily2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little cozy Moroccan cocoon! From the moment we walked in everything about this cottage relaxed us and warmed our hearts. The bedding is very comfortable and being able to close the shutters for darkness gave me the best sleep I’ve had since childhood. We loved the essential oils aroma everywhere ( not too much just enough) and the little personal cups and dishes was a treat. My husband immediately made his way to the nook up the ladder every time we came back, we were both able to be kids and adults at the same time. Love love love , we will return and suggest to all our friends!

Our yurt (30ft. dia.) is rustic, beautiful, quiet, in deep woods with deck overlooking pond. Great for couples, small families (not childproof). Includes hot tub & Woodland Banners Poetry Walk. Beds are futons. It's warm June-Aug. (no A/C, plenty fans), but way cooler than the city. It's cold Nov.-March (wood stove heat). Mini-fridge & microwave (no kitchen/plumbing). Bath-house is 2-min. walk (toilet, sink, shower). Two minutes to Saxapahaw. Read description for more info. SERIOUSLY NO PARTIES.
This yurt offers an adventure in glamping. The large round canvas structure is sited in the woods, with its own big deck (with fire-pit) overlooking Frog Pond. Inside are electricity, bottled water, 2 beds, wood stove, recliner and plenty of places to sit & chill. The big table is right for dining or doing projects. We offer coffee + coffeemaker (you make) but no breakfast. There's also a mini-fridge, microwave, plates, cups and utensils, fireplace wood. There is wi-fi & plenty books, games & DVDs (no TV; bring your laptop). The yurt is especially enjoyable in the spring and fall, and magically great in the rain. It can get cold in late fall/winter, esp. early morning. If you have a sleeping bag you love, bring it. It will be hot June-August. The space is not childproof, so best not to bring toddlers.
Frog Pond Farm is located about two-and-a-half miles from Saxapahaw, a 200-year-old mill village on the Haw River. Saxapahaw is a thriving tourist destination, offering Saxapahaw General Store, The Eddy Pub, Cup 22 Coffeehouse, Haw River Ballroom, The Bridge Center for Healing Arts, Left Bank Butchery, Saxapahaw Museum, and Haw River Farmhouse Ales brewery. Look them up on the web for current events. Haw River Canoe & Kayak Co. can take you boating on the river, and you can hike the Haw River Trail. For supermarkets or liquor stores, you can drive to Graham (take Hwy 87 north) or to Carrboro/Chapel Hill (take Hwy 54 east); they are both 15 miles from Saxapahaw.
  • Love it every time!

    Paige2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Unique place to stay nestled in a private wooded property. Great place to get away and relax from the rush of life. I am cold natured and stayed plenty warm with the wood fire and it got down to the 20s at night.

    Michelle2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! If you have the opportunity to visit, even just for a night, it’s wonderful. Don’t let the cold weather stop you...the wood burning fire place keeps you toasty warm and the hot tub in the freezing cold weather is awesome! I would say we picked the perfect time to stay-no bugs and cold weather for a fire! We had so much fun getting away for a few days here. Steven and Linda are great and we loved the dogs visiting and listening to the sounds of the rooster and geese! We had an unexpected treat of rain on the first night. The sound of the rain on the yurt roof along with the cozy fire and hot tub was so relaxing. We will definitely be returning!

    Candy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! 3 Minutes from Saxapahaw general store, brewery and ballroom. Every thing we needed was provided. This includes firewood which made our stay surprisingly warm despite temperatures just below freezing. The hot tub was great for a morning soak. Linda has great communication and check in was a breeze. We enjoyed our conversation with the host and look forward to staying at Frog Pond again.

    Derek2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Magical little place. Loved our short stay.

    Maria2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience! There is such history to the yurt and it really makes the space feel special. The hot tub and the view of the woods were such a relaxing touch. Highly recommend if your into nature and want a little escape from the woods

    Jose2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, peaceful and cozy!

    Jessie2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The second we drive onto the property we knew it would be great, we were greeted by sweet Irene the pit bull and she was the sweetest thing in the world, of course Gerret, Maggie, and Alan took our hearts as well. The view from the deck was astonishing and the entire property is beautiful! Couldn’t say how many times I caught myself saying “wow this is beautiful!” The artwork and poetry especially. Waking up early by the chickens and geese was a thing we weren’t used to but the view of the sunrise from the hot tub makes up for the early wake up! We hope to come back soon.. it felt almost as if we were home. ❤️🐾😊

  • Great space! Peace, quiet, and land to explore in abundance. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

    Jamal2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I rented out the tiny for a weekend getaway. The hospitality was great, and when it snowed, Rock and Kristallyn even shoveled the steps for us. Very close to an awesome animal sanctuary called farmony, also just a short drive to downtown Marshall and only about a half hour to Asheville. Very easy to find, everything was clean and comfortable and we will definitely be back again. There is an amazing tree fort and several awesome views to see on the property.

    Ethan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great people and great location, the animals & land are stunning. Will definitely be back! Would recommend to anyone, the small life is my favorite.

  • Rock and Krystalyn offer a wonderful experience for the weary traveler....with animals and country that rejuvenates the soul

  • awesome space & great hosts ! 10/10 would recommend & can’t wait to go back !

    Aidan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Paul’s place was warm and inviting. He has established a comfortable stay outside of Asheville in the quaint town of Marshall. If you’re looking for a relaxed accommodation in the mountainous countryside of North Carolina then this is a cabin worth visiting.

    Russell2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with "tiny living". If you have ever used a trailer camper before, it's kind of like that! Expect the decor to be on point, the amenities to be excellent (stove, fridge, oven, wifi, space heater/AC). Rock was very gracious, answering all of my questions. The alpacas and goats on site were super cute and friendly. Rock even came over and personally said hey and informed us of the gorgeous full moon outside. I would highly recommend this stay for someone who enjoys the minimal life! I am claustrophobic and could not sleep on the loft bed. But there is a full size mattress on the bottom floor to accommodate people like me! It isn't as close to Asheville as I thought, but honestly that is something that I preferred and I loved the drive in through historic Marshall next to the railroad tracks. This was a nice getaway for my best friend and I.

Take in the rustic, fairy tale vibe of this custom-made treehouse in the midst of towering white oaks. Recline in a rocking chair and watch the sunset over the mountains, or try your hand at some stargazing from the comfort of the deluxe double bed. If your travel dates are not available on this calendar, visit on of our sister properties! See all of our listings at airbnb.com/p/treehousesofserenity
You have seen us on TV!! This treehouse was built via an episode of The Treehouse Guys, on the DIY network which aired August of 2017! Just as exciting as an hour TV show, we were also featured in an HGTV & Travel Channel Facebook video which has been viewed more than 10 million times! Not to mention, local TV and print news. Treehouses of Serenity is located in north Asheville, just 10 short minutes from downtown. The treehouse offers 2 decks, one off of the main level facing west for the ultimate sunset viewing, and one off the bedroom to enjoy the sun rising with a warm cup of coffee. The main level consists of a cozy living area, kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, two burner hot plate), and bathroom with conventional toilet, stoned floored shower with rain head. Upstairs you will fall asleep while gazing at the stars through 2 triangle windows high in the treehouse peak. There is a double bed made up with high quality sheets and pillows for your comfort. Two adults can comfortably sleep in the double bed. The fold-out style couch on the main level would ideally sleep one adult or 2 small children. Other features that you will find when visiting the treehouse; antique furnishings, red oak floors, 2 wall mounted mini split units for heat and air, TV with Netflix and an Amazon Fire stick (no cable), WIFI, coffee, tea and electric outdoor grill.
The treehouse is built on an 8-acre parcel, 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. The property is within easy driving distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and the local visitor center. The area is wooded, but you will hear some road noise in the distance. We are excited to be expanding! In addition to this treehouse, we are currently building 4 additional treehouses, as well as an underground hobbit-like home. All of these new units will be available in early 2020, if not before.
  • Definitely staying again!!!

    Em2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay! The treehouse exceeded our expectations and Caroline couldn’t have been sweeter when we reached out for some helpful suggestions. It was equal parts relaxing and romantic. My husbands favorite part was feeling the treehouse sway (just a little) in the wind! Such a unique experience and so close to all that Asheville has to offer. Can’t wait to return!

    Kelly2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning property. The perfect place to clear your mind and disconnect. The property does not disappoint. Everything you need and want while being able to experience an environment like no other.

  • Carolina & Mike, Heather and I, feel like words can’t describe the fabulous experience we had for our “2020” Valentine’s getaway. This is a unique one of a kind Tree House design, its sensual home away from home effect was captivating. We thank you for creating a space that provides a relaxed, cozy atmosphere that allowed us to completely unwind in serenity. The Flowers! Specifically the bottle of Rosé were a special touch we definitely enjoyed. Can’t wait for the new treehouse projects to be completed and what they have to offer, we’ll make plans for lodging in those as well. Carolina & Mike’s hospitality and attention made us feel like family! Thank you guys! The Garcia’s.

    Jim2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This treehouse was amazing! Caroline and Mike did an amazing job thinking of every detail! It’s so unique and so cozy! We will most definitely be back!

  • What an absolutely incredible place to stay. Mike and Caroline have created such a beautiful mountain retreat that makes leaving quite the challenge! If you’re trying to decide to stay or not DO IT!!! The views are breath taking and Asheville is only minutes away.

Welcome! Our modern "boho" suite is spacious, cozy, and private. In the living room, you can watch Netflix on TV or get some work done at the desk. Then when it's time for sleep, you can move to the bedroom, shut the barn door, and curl up in bed by the fireplace. Wake up refreshed in the morning with our coffee station (Keurig, fridge, microwave, & table). We're located in a quiet neighborhood that's a short drive to anywhere in the Triangle. We can give plenty of local recommendations, too!
We love our house and do our best to make it nice. The whole guest suite is private for you. Everything is newly remodeled. We are happy to provide essentials for your stay - towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. Note: the TV has Netflix and YouTube but not cable or other services.
Our neighborhood is wooded and peaceful. There is no traffic or roadway noise. Most of the houses were built in the 1970s. Please park in the driveway if it doesn't have other cars or on the street directly in front of the house.
  • Great place

Experience the best that Black Mountain has to offer from this unique one of a kind experience! This quaint living space is directly above a little food market and cafe and overlooks a beautiful garden and greenhouse. Only steps away from the heart of Black Mountain and a fifteen-minute drive to downtown Asheville, you will have all of your travel needs met. Wake up every morning to be greeted by the beauty of the garden
This is truly a one of a kind AirBnB experience in the area. Come stay with us and explore the beauty of our studio, market, cafe, and garden in the heart of Black Mountain! What really makes this place unique is the location and the business, the Roots and Fruits Market. Being above a market and the outside cafe overlooking a garden, It's a magic place to be! Lots of great things happen here such as the food and juice truck that's outside, seasonal Sunday brunch with live music, watching the garden grow and be harvested, enjoy watching the chickens, interacting with people, or just walk around the garden (of course, seasonally that is). The market is open 7 days a week so you will see people around the market area if you choose to. We want people to feel relaxed and comfortable with everything you may need to start the day off right! . The studio is unique based on the colors of the rooms and cozy layout of the floor plan! This space includes a living room, kitchenette, bathroom, bath tub, and bedroom. We like to think this place is perfect for a couple, a solo traveler, and a group of friends who don't mind sharing space. The bedroom is a short walk away from the kitchenette and does not have a closable door for full privacy from guests who are interested in sharing the studio with two or more.
We are located right in the heart of downtown Black Moutain. Easy walk to great restaurants, bars, music, and gift shops.
  • Quaint, cozy, best fit for fall/ spring as it is an old building and a bit drafty. It is an attic apartment with very low ceilings in many places, so if you’re over 6ft tall you wouldn’t be too cozy. It has a rustic humble mountain vibe. No TV which was a bummer at first but we managed just fine! Clean, quiet and just as described. Loved it!

Best for strong sleepers perhaps. Besides that the space is really special. It's a great location and makes for a very cozy stay.

  • Great price for a weekend getaway! We only stayed for one night, and didn’t have time to explore like we wanted, so we’ll be back! The space is tight, namely the bed area, but for a cozy couple it was perfect. The house got cold at night, but the loft stayed warm and the space heater helped. We arrived after dark and the extra directions from Rock were extremely helpful. We will definitely come back and stay longer!

    Cynthia2020-02-01T00:00:00Z

  • The 1953 bus camper is a great experience if you like camping, but also like a comfy bed. The bus gives good shelter, offers plenty of room, and is set amidst the woods close to her house. We found plenty to do in nearby Pittsboro. Julie is an excellent host and we had a wonderful time. A great place to stay if you are adventurous.

  • This was a gorgeous and cozy little bus with lots of little personal touches. It was my first experience staying in something like this and it was even better than I expected. Clear down to Julie bringing you fresh eggs from the chickens outside in the morning. I will definitely be recommending this to friends and family.

Inspired by the Iroquoi longhouse and Ryan’s off-the-grid childhood, The Roost is an arched tiny home, framed with birch saplings. High atop a ridge, enjoy year-round views of the mountains from the porch. Hike up the ridge or cozy up by the wood stove with a book. Grill out, start a campfire or listen to the sounds of Bee Tree Creek in the hammock. Nightlife, food, coffee and breweries in Asheville and Black mountain are 15 minutes away. It's an hour to Great Smokey Mountains National Park!
THE ROOST A 12’ x 12’ tiny house with a back porch on a ridge. Looking for an alternative place to stay near Asheville? In the winter months light floods the The Roost through three large windows by day, and by night you can enjoy the warmth of candles and twinkle lights. In the summer, leaves cover the canopy, and with screens on all of the windows and a fan you’ll keep cool. The floors are reclaimed mixed wood and decorated with woven rugs. Because of the slope of the ridge the back porch is suspend about six feet off the ground giving visitors the feeling that they’re in a tree house. If The Roost is not available the days your looking for please check out our other Air BnB on the property, The Starling. Sleeping: Inside the longhouse you’ll find a comfortable full mattress that sleeps 2. The Roost can easily sleep a third using our tri-folding memory foam floor mattress. If you want the extra mattress you will need to let us know so we can be sure to bring it up for you. Cooking: We provide an electric hot plate for cooking, electric kettle, a wood stove, a dining table and clean water for drinking and washing up. The kitchen is stocked with plates, bowls, cups, silverware, wine tool, french press, a frying pan and a cooler for your perishables. Outside you’ll find a gas grill and fire pit for outdoor cooking. Showering: The roost has enough water inside for drinking and cleaning up. We do provide a Pocket Shower and a showering platform just outside. Heat water on the stove or fill the shower up with hot water from the spigot on the outside of our main house and then hang it on the designated line and there ya go. You are outside... so you might want to bring a bathing suit but it's not necessary. Below is a link showing the proper use of the Pocket Shower. We’ll also have instructions at the longhouse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B33xj0tBNxc Bathroom: The board and baton outhouse is just down the trail about 75 feet. We have a great flashlight for you to get around in the dark and the outhouse is fully equipped with toilet paper and hand sanitizer for you. Cell phone and internet: There is minimal to zero cell phone service. If you have a smart phone or computer, WiFi is available by walking about 200 feet over to our main house (hopefully soon we’ll have wifi in the longhouse itself) You can connect to it to make phone calls and send texts through the internet. There is a bench in our clearing you can sit on while using the internet. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY Enjoy twilight from the hammock hanging just outside or light the fire pit and have a drink while you relax. My wife and I are working on a network of hiking trails up "Rhododendron Ridge” where you can walk through forests of hemlock, maple, poplar, chestnut, oak, and of course, the aforementioned rhododendron. SURROUNDING AREAS 15 Minutes to the west in Asheville, and the same to the east in Black Mountain, you’ll find top-notch dining, coffee, music, and nightlife. Plus, Pisgah Brewing Company is less than 7 miles away with live musical performances and incredible brews. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forrest, packed with hiking trails, is 10 minutes away, and Great Smokey Mountains National Park is just over an hour away. Charles Owen Park is less than 2 miles away with a playground, baseball field, fishing pond, and hiking trails leading through Warren Wilson College. We’ll provide you with a list of our favorite places to eat, drink and hike. Note: The parking space is about 150 feet from The Roost. A path leads you up a 30 foot elevation gain from parking to The Roost. If you arrive after dark you’ll need a flashlight (or cell phone) to get up the trail.
The neighborhood is a quiet country community in the mountains of NC. Bee Tree Road is mostly locals. In the summer you can only catch distant glimpses of other houses through the woods.
  • Absolutely beautiful! Can’t wait to return!

  • If you are looking at this review trying to decide whether to book The Roost or not- book it now! The attention to detail inside the cabin, the hospitality from Ryan and Alyson, and the location makes this place such a great place to get away and relax. My dog and I had a wonderful time here and I hope to be back in the future!

    Manuel2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The coziest little nook in the woods with a great hiking trail! We cooked meals on the wood burning stove and woke up to a few inches of snow when we were there - it was so beautiful. Our dog really enjoyed the stay as well. Even though it feels very isolated, Ryan is only a small walk away and is so accommodating for everything you need.

    Kennedy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a gorgeous area and a really fun stay. Be forwarned, the stove gets that place very, very warm.

    Harold2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • It is such a pretty place, very clean, they also give very easy instructions how to use the stove. Had the room completely prepared in case we needed something else and seemed very open to us contacting them if we needed extra miscellaneous items.

    Kelly2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the Roost was such an amazing experience! It was so easy to say "heck yeah!" because the Roost is so charming & unique but also the reviews were amazing. Our stay was way better than we expected. Waking up to the views were fantastic. It was super clean and cozy. Alyson and Ryan made a great binder full of instructions and suggestions (like explaining how to use the wood burning stove and telling us about a hiking trail that was insanely awesome). I got the chance to meet and talk with Ryan and he was extremely nice. Everyone must take on this adventure!!

    Daniel2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible stay. Simply can’t wait to come back!

    Will2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan and Alyson's tiny home in the mountains was probably the best air bnb we've ever stayed in. The tiny cabin is beautifully decorated for such a small space, and even though it was chilly outside, the place was warm all night. The location is beautiful and full of thoughtful touches, just a 20 minute drive from Asheville. I can't wait to stay here again!

The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright; each of its 4 rooms offers various views of mountains, forest, and the Swannanoa River. Glass doors in your living room and kitchen open to decks and the hot tub - for your use alone. The hosts live upstairs and are available if requested, but otherwise honor your privacy. Enter via the kitchen door with a keypad lock. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, and dinnerware and glasses/stemware (both indoor & outdoor). A dining table for two offers a great place for breakfast or a spot to plan your day. The view from the decks is of mountains (Lane Pinnacle figures prominently), the Swannanoa River below, and wooded slopes.
We live in a beautifully wooded and quiet family neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 20 mph or slower in our neighborhood. There are lots of blind curves and often pedestrians in the road, as there are no sidewalks.
  • The place is stunning and breath taking. I could hear the river from the hot tub above while taking in the mountain view. Bed was so comfortable. All the fine touches I could tell went into the place was so grateful to be able to stay in this amazing location close to all the hiking, downtown Asheville, and Biltmore. Amazing host supper friendly could so come back to stay again.

  • Wonderful place to stay! Amazing hospitality with personal touches that make you feel welcome.

    Julia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Possibly the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. We love Asheville but wanted some quiet time for our anniversary. This airbnb is perfect for going downtown but not staying downtown. You can hear the river from Miriam's place and there is a beautiful view. We felt so very welcome in this spot with all the extra touches. There was tons of literature on local places to go and see. We were able to go on a nice hike from the recommendations in the apartment. The hot tub is such and amazing extra! The instructions provided helped us to use it properly and not have to ask for help. Our privacy was really respected. The space is cozy but large enough to hang out in for a few days. Miriam had a fresh water filter and a couple of bagels. This was such a delightful find because we arrived later than anticipated and didn't have time for groceries. I even left a blanket behind and they shipped to me after my visit with no trouble! I can't recommend this stay enough. Great location, comfortable accommodations, and wonderful hosts. We intend to return the next time we visit!

    Georgia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay. Private, quiet, clean, and close to everything

    Brenda2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam and Patrick are wonderful host. The location is the perfect balance of far enough out to be secluded but close enough in to town for amazing food and great beer! My favorite part was definitely the sound of the river in the background of the amazing scenery. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet or romantic stay in Asheville!

    Preston2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing!! This home is seriously wonderful. Far enough away to have some peace and quiet (and pretty views) but also close enough to easily drive into downtown Asheville. The bed was super comfy, and the hot tub was perfect for the cold winter nights. Amazing stay and will definitely be checking this place out in the future to see it in all the different seasons. Highly recommended!

    Lindsey2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved Miriam and Patrick’s place! It was the perfect, peaceful getaway with a gorgeous view and only 15 minutes from our favorite restaurants. Would highly recommend! Hope to rent again in the future!

    Jessica2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam’s basement apartment will make you feel right at home! Very spacious, all the amenities you need, and a great location with river and mountain views. Just a 10-15 minute drive from all the main attractions downtown. I only wish the rain held out during our visit to take advantage of the hot tub!

Every corner of this home is individually adorned with an eclectic bouquet of antique furnishings and inspiring artwork. Gather around a fire pit in a yard offering mountain views. Recline on a warm sofa in a living room with a charming stone wall.
“Dorothy's place is an absolute gem! It's up in the hills in a quiet neighborhood, but only a quick 5-7 minute drive from downtown and a 2 minute drive from a grocery store. The unit is spacious was incredibly comfortable for us (two plus our pup). The care and effort put into the space is super impressive. There is a queen sized bed, full size fridge and sink, a coffee maker with coffee/cream/sugar, tea, a microwave, and toaster oven. There's also a cute little sitting room with a tv and sofa. Further, the bathroom is a comfortable size with plenty of space for two. Dorothy has a board of recommendations for travelers, along with a map with pins to keep track of where her guests are from. Such sweet details! We were so sad to leave her lovely space. Hope to stay again in the future!” ...previous guest review Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants. Very open layout with beautiful archways and a unique rock wall add both charm and class. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and great big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home. It is equipped with a full size refrigerator, single burner hot plate, a large toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker. Netflix and Hulu streaming available via Roku on flat screen TV in living room . What else could you need?! :) This is a very spacious 500 square foot tastefully decorated and well equipped lower level space. Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance and a screen door allows guests to enjoy the fresh air and natural light. Outside space with porch swing and lounge seating for guests to lounge the day away. Beautiful fire pit area also available for guest use. Suitable for two adults with a couch available for a child; although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements other than the couch :) This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :) https://abnb.me/EVmg/4pISBm8rsK The apartments share a laundry room space making a perfect opportunity to book both for larger families or couples traveling together. Also, I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation. Please read them carefully to be sure you choose the correct apartment upon arrival.
The house is set on a wooded mountainside with great scenic views. Downtown Asheville's restaurants, cafes, breweries, and shops are a short drive away. Go for a hike in a nearby park or take a short drive to the Biltmore Mansion and Gardens.
  • I have stayed at a lot of AirBnBs and Dorothy’s was my all time favorite! The location couldn’t be beat and the place itself was gorgeous! We even discussed the bed and how comfortable it was. She had extra items as well that made the stay just perfect. We were sad that we had to leave! Excellent place and location!

    Molly2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a short, comfortable stay with Dorothy for a weekend. She was very accommodating of us, including our dog. Check in and check out were super easy. The parking was convenient as well. The elevated view from the property was beautiful and we found the interior to be thoughtfully decorated with helpful recommendations for food, breweries, and hikes. Having laundry available on-site turned out to be a big plus as well. The neighborhood was very quiet despite being such a short drive to downtown. I would highly recommend a stay with Dorothy if you’re making a visit to Asheville.

  • The Airbnb from top to bottom was perfect for our weekend getaway in a new city! The place was thoughtfully decorated and really reflected the city as a whole. Getting to and from downtown was very easy and we were perfectly located for all of our activities we had planned. Dorothy herself was very pleasant to interact with as well. We look forward to returning in the future!

Come stay at our modern vintage guesthouse in Historic Trinity Park. Our cottage has all modern appliances with vintage fixtures. This 380 square foot cottage is located in a very lively and safe neighborhood just minutes from downtown Durham. Walk one mile on the Ellerbe creek trail to downtown and enjoy all the great entertainment Durham has to offer. Walk 1.5 mile to 9th street restaurants and shops 1 mile to Central Park and farmers market <1 mile to bars and restaurants on geer street
Our cottage has all the modern amenities provided to make your stay comfortable. We have carefully selected vintage fixtures to make the cottage stand out from the pack! The 380 square foot feels much bigger than its size would suggest. The fully equipped kitchen has a brand new stove and euro fridge.. sorry no dishwasher. The bedroom has a queen size bed and an armoire for your clothes. The living room/dinning room are open to the kitchen and provide ample space for relaxing and dining. We also provide complementary coffee/tea and wifi.
The cottage is located on a quite cul-de-sac in historic Trinity Park. The Ellerbe Creek Trail is a greenway located at the end of the street that provides a great way to walk downtown, about 1 mile. The street consists of 1940's single family bungalows all with beautiful trees and gardens.
  • This place was perfect for our little over night adventure to Durham. There place was very clean! Comfortable bed. I am sensitive to fragrances and was very pleased to enter a place without all the strong air fresheners that a lot of places have. I also noticed that the cleaning supplies was all organic! Highly recommend! If we ever visit Durham again, I hope to stay here.

Come get away from it all—while conveniently located close to everything—at Laurel Branch Gardens, a 12-acre family farm that uses organic growing practices. About 100 yards from the farm house, the cabin is a old tobacco barn fully renovated to include a sleeping loft, full kitchen, bathroom, and living area. Meet the pigs, chickens and goats. Lay in the hammock. Warm up next to the wood stove. Listen to bird calls outside your windows. Or use this as a unique base to explore the Triangle.
While you’re here, we hope that you'll explore the farm—including a visit to the pigs, goats, and chickens and the trails around the property that lead to Laurel Creek. Or, just come for the great location. Everything is accessible from here: we’re 12 minutes from the airport, 10 from Falls Lake, 20 from downtown Durham and Research Triangle Park, and 25 from downtown Raleigh. For whatever reason you find yourself here, we’ll welcome you with a basket of seasonal produce from our farm (all pesticide-free) and any information you need about the area. All guests welcome! Two medium-sized dogs also call the farm home; both are very loving and likely to come say hi at some point. Please note that, as pictured, a bed and couch are always available. We also have an air mattress and high quality camping pads that can be used when more sleeping spaces are needed; just let us know! We also have spaces for tent-camping if your group wants to spread out. We are happy to host small dogs at the cabin (we are unable to host guests with cats). If you would like to bring a dog, please indicate this in your initial message. There is a $50 non-refundable fee for dogs.
We are in a rural area right on the edge of Durham County. Surrounded on three sides by forests, our farm feels secluded but is also convenient to restaurants, a movie theater, and shopping-the closest of which are less than 10 minutes away. Peaceful is one of the characteristics our guests use most often to describe our farm.
  • Incredibly cozy and homey nestled in an exemplary farm when considering sustainability. Really impressed with how private the space felt even though the cabin was on a working farm’s property. Amenities were more than adequate, bed was very comfortable, and the amount of natural light that came into the cabin really took the cake for us.

  • This place is really what we were looking for. Quiet, beautiful, pieceful, cute, magnificent, splendid, stunning, lovely! Name it all, I got nothing to say negative about this place. We met the whole family including the pigs, goats and dogs. They are all super friendly, the kids are very cute too ☺️. We wish we had stayed longer!! If you are looking for a rustic cabin get away, this is the perfect place 🙏

  • A wonderful getaway in a sweet private cabin on a farm. What a special place. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Austin2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! Was so cute and cozy! Loved the animals as well and the tire swing! Great atmosphere, definitely will be recommending and staying again!

    Cara2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • People always say, "we would stay here again" and we actually did! This was our second stay at Robyn and Evan's lovely cabin escape. We love the cozy cabin feel, the wood-burning stove, cooking eggs in the morning (courtesy of the hosts and chickens), and wandering around the land to see the pigs and goats. In the evenings, we worked on a puzzle while listening to music (speaker provided) and forgot we were just on the outskirts of Durham. We would definitely stay here again ;-)

  • Great stay! Lots of space, comfy bed, quiet and clean.

  • Nice little spot not too far from the airport.

    Richard2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great stay and a wonderful value. There were snacks and it was nice and spacious.

    Jessica2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great stay close enough to Asheville to be convenient but far enough to feel like a quiet secluded getaway. Very quaint feel with the wood furnishings and very open and spacious feeling. Definitely would recommend!

    John Stephen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was excellent for the one night I needed to be there. The snacks were definitely great for my late arrival from the airport as well as not needing to go anywhere in the morning for breakfast and coffee. I had everything I needed for a short, cozy stay. The property is lovely (especially since it snowed)! Kwadwo has great wood work that certainly adds a very personal touch to this location. The shower was nice, extra hot water and nice shower head. The room temperature was appropriate prior to my arrival (thoughtful host). Overall, I was extremely happy with my stay. Would def stay again.

    Jenna2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kwadwo is friendly, helpful and full of great tips and suggestions for activities and unique restaurants. The space is spacious and tastefully decorated.

    David2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kwadwo’s place is the perfect Airbnb! Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, you have the entire basement to yourself, no sounds from up stairs. It’s a huge space, with a great living room, kitchen, and dining area. The bedroom is huge and the bed is rather comfortable. Would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to stay a few nights near Asheville. It’s a quick drive into Asheville and surrounding attractions. Can’t recommend this place enough.

  • Fun location. Really enjoyed the hot tub and just listening to Mother Nature. A great spot for those looking to get away. A quick 25 minute drive into downtown Asheville

  • Beautiful, that one word describes it all!!Very thoughtful touches!

    Payton2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Melissas place was over the top extraordinary. From the beautiful decorating to the calming soothing smell to the outdoor shower and toilet that we were a tad skeptical on, but In turn loved immensely. The outdoor shower was so refreshing. We loved loved this experience

    Cassandra2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I have been wanting to stay in a luxury treehouse for a while and Melissa's was everything we expected and more. The inside was beautiful. Her hospitality was superb. Her and her husband were so accommodating. We really appreciate everything. We will be back.

    Shane2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing experience, can't wait to be back. The outside shower in 30 degree weather was amazing. Little touches from the scent of the room, little chocolate's by the bed, donuts to the robes were amazing. The treehouse is romantic and cozy would def recommend to anyone looking for a getaway. Plus, it is only about a 25 minute ride to Asheville. Melissa was a fabulous host.

    Melissa2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you're considering it, please stay here! The treehouse was even better than the pictures (if you can imagine that). We had such a romantic night here... from the small touches like the chocolate and beer she left for us in the fridge, to the matching robes... we did not want to leave! It could not have been better. Melissa was very quick to respond to all of our questions. We felt right at home. It was secluded enough that it felt very intimate, but close enough to their house on the property that we felt safe. We want to come back every year!

    Grace2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place it absolutely gorgeous!! Great secluded spot that was perfect for my husband and I to disconnect and relax. We will definitely be coming back!!!

Walk back past tall trees, over a small wooden bridge with built-in love seats. Massage tired feet on a polished river-rock shower floor. This rustic 2-story cottage, dating back over 100 years, has whitewashed stone walls and a wood-burning stove.
Gashes Fluss Haus is a 117 year old coach house. The first floor is made of stone.
Surrounded by nature, the home is a short drive to downtown, West Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • This was the absolute perfect stay for my mom and I! It combined my love for a rustic charm and her need for all the comforts of a 5 star hotel. The decor fits the home perfectly and made us feel right at home. Paul was a wonderful host and available for any and all questions!

    Hannah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a charming abode! The white washed walls, super comfy bed, wood stove - tasteful decor made this cottage perfect for our brief stay in Asheville. The location was perfect - 5-10 min drive to downtown AVL and Paul was super accommodating and available. Would love to stay here again!

    Sarah2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredibly cozy cottage with thoughtfully crafted furnishings. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back when we visit Asheville again. The downtown area is just a short drive with many bars/restaurants for whatever you’re looking for.

    David2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was an excellent host and made check in & check out a breeze. The site was beautifully decorated and the woodstove made for a beautiful cozy stay at a majestic home.

    Drake2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was an excellent host, he greeted us when we arrived and showed us how to use the woodstove, which he already started for us before we arrived. This home makes your feel like a family guest vs a renter, the home was very clean with special touches, like fresh flowers in the kitchen and the bed room sheets that smelled so clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable, and the bed covers kept us warm during the night. During out stay we took a short drive to Black Mountain and Hendersonville. As short drive from the home was a great place to have dinner.

    Nicole2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I had a wonderful time! We will be back!

    Debbie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The location was spot on. The cabin was simple, quaint and well kept. Everything there served a purpose and was well thought out. It’s easy to see the care Paul took in creating this incredible place. Any questions we had, Paul was quick to answer and he even helped show us how to use the cast iron stove to keep warm during our stay. My wife and I are so, so thankful for everything Paul did to make our getaway a memorable one.

    Kevin2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We started our N. Carolinian journey in Asheville and this house did all of the magic in setting the tone for the hinterland adventure. The hearth is the hearth of the home again in this rustic farmhouse. Paul was amazing in accommodating our late check-in and showed great care in showing us how to safely and properly use the wood burning stove that adds so much romance to this space. Romance aside, for which this space is full, all the amenities are here in tip top form.
