  • This cottage is a great place, with lots of amenities and right by the lake. The host is great at communication and the place was very clean.

  • This cottage was perfect for our snowmobile trip. The OFSC is right across the road from the cottage and they have a large driveway for trucks with trailers. It is a spacious clean cottage and the hot tub is a great! We would stay here again!

  • Woke up to some beautiful sunrises with a magnificent lake view in the mornings with a coffee in hand. The hot tub was super relaxing after a long day. We checked out Recollet Falls which was beautiful but a little bit of a hike, it’s about a 10 min drive. Overall great experience !

Re: COVID-19. I am disinfecting all touchable surfaces before guests arrive. There are no reported cases in this area presently. Studio cottage adjacent to the West arm of Lake Nipissing. Open year-round. Very quiet area. Walking/snowshoe trails, ice fishing, snowmobile trails close by (District 11). Located on the edge of hundreds of acres of Crown land, yet close to provincial highway. Beautiful country drives, visit quaint French-Canadian villages. You might see a moose! Wifi $25 extra.
This cottage is part cottage-country, and mostly wilderness. There aren’t many places that are unspoiled and this close to a provincial highway, within an hour drive of two major Northern Ontario cities, and a morning or afternoon drive from Toronto. Lake Nipissing enjoys a unique advantage in that there are very few cottages on the lake, compared to hundreds of acres of Crown Land, which, after all, belongs to us all. So come and be reminded of what it is to live with nature.
Experience Northern Ontario! In all seasons, this cottage offers a true Northern experience with the comforts of home. In Summer, get on or in the lake. In Winter, ice-fish or snowshoe, snowmobile, sit by the fire. In Fall, hike and sit by the fire. In Spring, bird-watch, hike, sit by the fire.
  • Joan‘s cottage is a perfect place to enjoy a quiet stay close to nature. Waking up with a beautiful view across the water (or snow) can give you a special piece of mind. Make sure you welcome the dogs - they‘re cute and always looking for a playmate :-) The cabin is perfectly equipped even for longer stays. Highly recommended!

    Klaus2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival Joan showed us to the cabin, she had already started a fire in the wood fireplace making it toasty in the cabin. The cabin was cuter in person than the photos showed. For our winter weekend get away the cabin was the perfect place to stay. We were close to snowshoeing and cross country ski trails. For a night out we went to Lavigne Tavern, 15 minutes away, a great little jazz/blues bar. Joan was a great host, answering all of our questions almost immediately. Her dog W.P and the neighbours dogs came around often and were super friendly. We are excited to go back again in the summer and plan to make it an annual get away in the winter. Bring warm socks!

    Krysta2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with everything you need.

    Tim2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Joan had a fire started for us when we arrived. The cottage was sparkling clean and equipped with all we would need during our stay (pots, pans, etc). We got to pet adorable dogs... and saw a flying squirrel on our nights there! It truly was lovely. Will stay again.

    Shawna2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent a lovely weekend as a winter getaway. The place and area looks even better in person. Exceeded what we we're looking for :)

    Steven2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Joan's place is the perfect place for a quiet and relaxing retreat in nature. It is located on a peaceful stretch of river, surrounded by nature; lots of birds to watch! Very comfortable space, roomy, plenty of amenities. Joan is an excellent host, and provided some very good recommendations for local outdoor activities. Altogether, an excellent stay!

    Geneviève2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • PHENOMENAL view right from the high bed overlooking the water, in a gorgeously rustic cottage with friendly local dogs to keep you company and hours of gazing out the windows at the feeding squirrels, woodpeckers and blue jays. Can't wait to stay again! Perfect for daydreaming with a peaceful vista

    Ajay2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Joan met us outside upon our arrival. The place was so warm and cozy as soon as we walked in. Loved the decor and the cleanliness. The cabin is basically a little bunky, and was plenty of space for the two of us. Fireplace heated the place wonderfully. Only one tv station that was not the clearest, and Netflix. There was a DVD player, wish we had brought some movies. And I might suggest to perhaps bring a Bluetooth speaker or radio if you would like to listen to music. Great view, spent the mornings watching the red squirrels and birds feeding outside the window. Perfect place to unwind and relax!! Will definitely be back!!

1 bedroom loft, sleeps 4. View of the lake from dining area. Come discover lake nipissing. Great fishing, ATV'ing, hunting and more. Non smoking. Pet friendly. 3 nights minimum.
  • We enjoyed our stay. The water is very nice and the views are spectacular. Enjoyed looking at the stars. Also appreciate that the cottage is dog friendly. Our little dog loved being teased by the chipmunks

    Elise2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in the loft! Very comfortable bed, great lounging space with comfy sofa and TV. Beautiful view from the dining table right out to the lake and dock. Bathroom was great - super clean shower, toilet, sink. Towels, toilet paper, linen - we basically just brought our food and clothes. It was hot one night and the hosts kindly brought up a portable air conditioner for our comfort. Kitchen was equipped with toaster and microwave in addition to stove and fridge. Loved the deck off the loft, which had a bbq that we used. The dock is a fab place to lounge and hang out during the day, and the firepit at night was a treat too. We appreciated how secluded the place was, but with all the comforts we needed. The lake is just steps from the property, great swimming and fishing. Would recommend and return!

  • My family and I had a great stay at Mona's cottage. She was very quick with responding and making us feel right at home. Before we arrived she upgraded us to the cottage and it was just what we were looking for. The cottage was very comfortable to stay in, it was very clean and very cozy. The property itself is very nice with a fire pit and a great dock to hang out by the water. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a nice cottage weekend. Thanks Rick and Mona!

    Brianna2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a wonderful experience at Mona and Rick's place. The hospitality was amazing, and they were so generous. We have made new friends.

    Sue2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed my stay. Loved the scenery and the road going to the cottage. We will go back to hunt this area again.

    Brian2018-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank You for an amazing staycation! Cannot ask for better hosts! Place was very clean, quite and relaxing. When we got there we were greeted by Mona. We rented the loft but got upgraded to the cottage instead. Very sweet of them to do that. Fridge had complementary beers! Thank you again for that! =) Hosts offered a pontoon ride however we were too tired. We will definitely take up the offer next time around though! Will definitely come back here again. Cheers!

    Pamela2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Mona are the best hosts anyone could ask for. My cousin and I were hunting in the area. The property is beautiful and their extra knowledge of the area helped us have a succesful hunt. Will definitely be returning.

    Scott2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Mona's cottage is definitely an amazing place to spend a week, a week-end and to relax in a beautiful site. The place is spacious and fully equipped, perfect for swimming (even in late October!), cook on a bonfire and look at the stars on the docks at night! Peaceful and gorgeous! I strongly recommend!

  • Danielle's place was just as described and was great value. It is a nice little cottage on a beautiful little part of the French River. We did a great short hike to Recollet Falls nearby which I highly recommend. Danielle provided quick and detailed responses to my questions which was really helpful for planning. A great stay.

  • We had a great time at Mona's cottage over Labour Day weekend! The cottage was spacious, clean and had everything we needed -- we only had to bring clothes and food. We arrive late because of some serious traffic but Mona and her husband Ricky had the cottage ready and waiting fir us -- they even left treats for our dog and a couple of drinks for us, which were much appreciated after being on the road. There are two great patios to sit on as well as a large dock down by the lake, which is great for sitting in the sun and reading a book while watching the boats go by. Overall, we loved our stay and hope to come back!

    Christina2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hospitality, and the cottage was very clean and comfortable. Mona and her husband ensured we arrived safely, and were always available to answer any questions we had. My friends and I recently spent a weekend ice fishing in the area, and Mona's husband was very helpful in pointing us to the fishing hot spots.

There was lots of toys for the kids to play with. It was very close to Sudbury (Only about 40 min) which we visited Science North on a. rainy day. Would recommend this cottage.

    Rebecca2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Harold and Lise are wonderful hosts on a wonderful property! We were kept busy with bocce ball, horseshoes, kayaks, canoes, campfires and lots of swimming. The cottage was very neat and clean and had every amenity we needed for our week stay. They were close by to answer any questions while respecting our privacy, we enjoyed the quite on the river. We had an amazing time and look forward to returning!

    Jenn2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Harold and Lise were great hosts . They received us when we arrived at the crows nest and did a good walk around with us and showed us all the amenities available. The place was nice , clean and spacious. We were a group of 6 plus our 2 dogs. There was lots of space outside for our dogs to run free and enjoy themselves . The place has scenic views which is absolutely gorgeous. They even let us use their Canoe and Kayaks. My kids loved it . Great place for a swim with clean water. They even went out of their way to take us for a boat ride and a swim on their private boat . Really appreciate their hospitality . Not many hosts would do that . We were there to unwind and thats exactly what we were able to do. We will certainly recommend the crows nest as a go to place on the french river . I wish them all the best in their future endeavours. You guys are the best . We will be back. Thank you very much.

  • An absolute gem of a cottage with an amazing view. Would be ideal for fisherman and anyone into watersports. So many extras in the cottage in case you've forgotten anything. The hosts reside next door and are very prompt. It was a lovely stay and we will plan on coming back

    Kenndra2018-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay so much that we’d love to make a yearly visit with our family! We spent our days swimming, enjoying the view of the lake and access with our boat as well as lots of fun fishing. The rain kept us in one day but we had board games to play as well as movies to watch! We watched the 1992 Blue Jays World Series game on VHS. A little nostalgia and so many memories were made. Highly recommended!

    Chantal2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous time. The property had everything you could hope for. First and foremost a beautiful dock that had sun from morning until evening, a shaded cottage that stayed cool and comfortable (with plenty of fans), every convenience that we could hope for - clean washrooms, washer/dryer, 2 fridge/freezers, Weber bbq, muskoka chairs and both indoor/outdoor dining furniture. Just to make it perfect, all the extras were included- towels, face clothes, bedding (extra sets), shampoo, soap, dish towels, dishwasher soap.....everything!! As the owners said bring your clothes, food and drinks! Lovely owners, lovely property. We will definitely return.

  • Sherry's place is 5 star hotel clean, while still being very homey. We treated our small company to a relaxing weekend out of the city. Check-in was dead simple and Sherry went out of her way to accommodate a last minute booking. Communication was easy and response times were excellent. We appreciated the property's amenities very much and hope to return one day very soon :)

  • Excellent, highly recommend and would stay again. A group of 8 friends stayed for a few nights winter break. Sherry's home is beautiful, every piece of furniture is of great quality and thoughtfully chosen, waterfront location highly desirable and plenty to do. Despite there not being enough snow to go sled or snowshoe, we enjoyed all of the other amenities and games provided next to the warm fireplace.

  • It is very hard to start at a specific reason as to why this place is so amazing, because there is literally too many to pick from. I guess first experience would be a fair start. When we got to the cottage, and stepped out of the car, we could tell that this is everything that we wanted for our weekend getaway and more. Beautiful water, kayak, canoe, and a paddle boat just waiting to be taking out for enjoyment. You walk inside and get the smell of the wood that was used to build the cabin and immediately fall in love with the place. Everything we needed for a weekend stay was there, and it was spotless. Beds are comfy, music is good, deck is an absolute pleasure to spend and lose track of time on. The dock is clean, safe and a wonderful place to fish. We caught a 5 pound bass about 2 feet long and a pike along with tons of perch, and sunfish. The neighbouring people are all friendly; don't forget to give them a wave as they pass by on their boats. Would definitely come back, and recommend this to anyone looking for time out of the city to relax and unwind. Thank you JO-CA Ke Ka :)

  • You will not be disappointed that is for certain. Great view, cottage has all you need and more. Fire pit is perfect, the bottom line is that we were all very sad to leave. John, Carol, Kent and Katie were extremely accommodating and have done an amazing job with their cottage. Beds are very comfortable. Again Thank you!

  • AMAZING! From the initial contact with the hosts to their beautiful cottage! The hosts are super helpful and so easy to talk to and communicate with which really helped us on a rainy day of out trip! The cottage it self is breathtaking but the location is just superb. There are many things to see and do around the French river! And the cabin is fully equipped to explore the lake or have a nice fire at night! I would highly recommend visiting this cottage, and we will surely be back in the future.

  • My family and I stayed here for 3 days while I had meetings in Sudbury. If your looking to stay outside the city, this only took me 40 minutes to drive in. The cabin is a lovely 2 bedroom with 1 room in the loft holding 4 beds, more than enough for my family of 6. We spent every night by fire watching the moon rise over the water. If your looking to relax by the water, it doesn't get any better that this. Our only disappointment was that we didn't booking longer, no one was ready leave. We are already taking about returning next summer but for a longer time. Every thing about this stay was better than expected and can not say enough nice things about our hosts. Thank you for and few days my family will never forget, and we look forward to returning.

  • Oh, what can I say about this cottage. It is THE cottage of my dreams. I can guarantee any guest that they will feel like kids again living here even for a weekend. My friends and I rented this cottage to hang out and get away from the city life and it was just so perfect. I love the architecture and layout. There were plenty of space for everyone. The beds were comfy, simple and cozy rooms, amenities, beautiful wooden logs...you can stare at the grains and rings of the wood for hours in silent contemplation. There were already chopped wood for a fire, the outside view is simply breathtaking. The boys had only hoped the lake was deeper. The girls went out for a canoe. We were respectful and the neighbours didn't mind us at all. I have been a guest and super host for 7 years with Airbnb and this place is one of the most memorable. We are happy to have been their first guest. We traded lovely gifts of wine, coincidentally. Great minds think alike :)

You'll fall in love with our cottage, as you drive onto the 1 acre property surrounded by tall pine trees the feeling of serenity, relaxation and nature will wash over the hustle and bustle of the city. Located on Murdock River that feeds into the French River you will be practically shut off from the main boat traffic to peacefully enjoy a private waterfront cottage retreat. Our fully equipped year round luxury cottage will greet you with all of the comforts of home. wkly only during July-Aug.
Our beautiful 3 bedroom waterfront four season cottage comes complete with everything you need for a wonderful family week away from the city to fish, swim, kayak or just relax. The cottage is located on the sought after Murdock River that attaches to the French River. If you are a paddler, fisher-person, or just love the out of doors, you will value the amazing scenery and sporting opportunities the area has to offer. You will find shallow and deep water for swimmers of all ages and over an acre of land to enjoy. The covered deck area is our favourite place to enjoy a morning coffee or afternoon beverages, while you overlook the water as it ripples and shimmers in the sun. This four season cottage is perfect all year round.
Be sure to bring your groceries with you. Alban is a small village just off Hwy 69 on Hwy 64 and approx. 50 minutes south of Sudbury and one hour north of Parry Sound. The village is less than 10 minutes from the cottage with limited amenities, however, if you have forgotten something (or need an amazing sub sandwich or pizza), you will typically find what you need at Lemieux Meat and Grocery in Alban. There’s also an LCBO in the village for those deck side treats. Voyageurs Golf Course (a 9 hole public course) is minutes away from the cottage. There are approximately 10 cottages on our road – small family owned camps. Crown land runs for miles behind our property and on the other side of the river.
  • A very quiet spot with little boat traffic. Beautiful, clean well-provisioned cottage. We absolutely loved the large covered deck area that overlooks the river!

The location is beautiful, a sleepy meandering river that connects to the French River in a nature's paradise. It's was so peaceful, yet we had all the amenities to have an exceptional and fun stay. • Great hospitality. Very clean and spacious cabin. Great place to relax. Very efficient hosts. We had an absolutely devine time. We will definitely return to this enchanting place.

  • My favourite spot to date ! Caitland and Mike were outstanding hosts and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and felt at home (they went as far as to clean and cut the fish we caught so we could cook it that evening). They gave us tips on where to eat & best places to go for outdoor activities. We ended up ditching most of our plans and staying on the property as it really had everything we needed for a fun outdoor weekend. The cabin was extremely clean and was equipped with all your essentials + more. The property has a beautiful view of the river & canoes on site that you can rent. It was nice having our own BBQ at the cabin and their communal fire pit is a great spot to gather at night. We are already planning our second trip up and look forward to spending another weekend at their accomodations. Its a perfect spot for a family or group of friends, I would highly recommend staying here!

  • The Caitland’s cabin was amazing. A great place for families or a group of friends to stay. The cabins are so clean and well maintain, private and cosy with a beautiful river view.

Property has a deck overlooking the river, and a dock for easy boat access (if you have your own boat). • A simple, clean, comfortable space right on the river. Good value, and Rosa is very kind and helpful with any questions or issues. Highly recommended!

    Darcy2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • At first glance the trailer looks a little rough, but upon entering and settling in the outer appearance is forgotten!! VERY clean, incredibly comfortable beds, nice hot water, great selection of dishes and pots and pans. The front yard is spacious with great breezes and shade, the dock right on the river was great for paddling. If you are looking for a comfortable, affordable, clean place to stay, this is a good one!!

  • I would highly recommend Rob's place to anyone looking for a very secluded, getaway. The property was very well maintained (Was in winter, could be different in the summer) with a well-plowed driveway and parking areas. The actual building was very nice, clean and spacious. Had a great view overlooking the water and the enclosed sunroom offered a great place to hang out. Our stay was booked with less then 48 hours of notice and Rob had no problem accommodating a last-minute booking. Our only problem was during check-in when we discovered the lock-box was frozen due to a recent storm but Rob picked up his phone right away when called and had a back-up option available and the rest was smooth sailing. Note, the place is off the beaten path and has no wifi and VERY limited phone service but the Karaoke machine and movie selection make up for it! Thanks Rob!

    Cody2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rob's cottage is beautiful, very private, clean and has all of the basic necessities. The views from the cottage are spectacular, and there are many great places to hike nearby. Communication with Rob was excellent and quick. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and we would return!

My place has its own beautiful beach and great views as the sun goes down. The cottage sits on the North shore of the French River with a Southern view. Inquire about renting a 14 foot aluminum boat with a 20 HP Mercury (4 stroke)
**Note** Due to the French River flooding issues this spring, the beach is currently unavailable as the water is too high. There is still plenty of sitting area by the water and lots of room to swim. Let me know if you have any questions regarding this.Hi Vikki,
Very private area - a few surrounding homes and cottages. Please be respectful to neighbours.
  • We came with a group of guys with the purpose to fish. The place totally met our expectations.

  • We had a fantastic family experience. Kevin's cottage offers tons of activities for all ages. Lots of room, and tons of FUN!! We loved the beach, fire pit, and the sun room. The photo's don't do this cottage any justice. We will be back, and I'd highly recommend kevins cottage.

  • Great cottage in a beautiful location. Lots of great sitting areas. Lots of rainy day options. Perfect sandy beach for the little ones. Everything you need is available. During our stay the water pump broke down on after dinner on a Saturday evening of a long weekend. I let Kevin know and he somehow managed to arrange a plumber for first thing the next morning who upsized and replaced the entire system. Great response and I don't think the pump will be a problem again anytime soon! Very happy with our choice.

  • Kevin's cottage was cozy and secluded. A great place to stay for a getaway from the city to get back in touch with nature. We made a lot of use of the paddleboard and kayak, and the lake was great for fishing. Definitely made for a wonderful weekend, and I'd return again!

  • Kevin's Airbnb reminds me of my childhood - growing up and staying at my grandparent's cottage, eating barbecue, canoeing, swimming, fishing and creating new memories. The cottage is nestled in the trees on the French River. It is a great destination for families who are avid about fishing, canoeing, and the outdoors. Kevin's communication is second to none. He answers questions in a very timely manner. He addresses concerns truthfully and accurately. He is even available if needed during your stay via text. I would recommend Kevin's cottage and would even book it in the future if the opportunity presents itself. Thank you, Kevin, for sharing your cottage with me, my family and friends, for our end of summer vacation.

  • Kevin’s place is incredible and has everything you need to enjoy a great cottage weekend. Amenities are better than many other places I have stayed. I have never cottaged on a river, but I can say that this was truly impressive and no different than attenting a cottage on a lake. Location is a little bit far (if coming from GTA), but WELL worth it. Communication with Kevin was always great, always reaponded prompty to issues / inquiries. Even when there was a noise complaint from the neighbours, Kevin reached out to me in a professional/ respectful manner, despite the nature of the situation he was put in. Thank you Kevin, and I would definitely recommend this place to people reading this review.

  • Kevin's cottage on the French River is a wonderful spot for a getaway. The setting is idyllic, with an amazing waterfront area, with something for everyone: gorgeous view, dock with deep water at the end, sandy beach, and seating areas in the shade and sun. The cottage has lots of room. It's way bigger than the photos make it look. The cottage is in a great location. It's very private and peaceful if you want to feel secluded, but Noelville is a short drive away for all your needs, the French River visitor centre is maybe 20 minutes away, and Killarney is just over an hour away for a day trip. It is beyond well-equipped with everything you need for your stay, from the indoors to the outdoors. And just for good measure, I'll say it again: it is just so beautiful at this spot on the French River. Thanks, Kevin!

Enjoy a Northern cottage experience at this private cottage. This cottage has all the ammenities you are looking for. Please view the pictures with descriptions to find out more!
Located at the end of the road, this cottage is very private on a well maintained year-round road. The cottage has two great sized bedrooms with one queen bed, and a double lower bunk with single upper bunk bed. The livingroom has a queen size pullout couch and finished walkout basement has a queen pullout couch as well.
Neighbours are very friendly and, again, the trees and rock mountains provide privacy. This cottage is also located in a slight bay, which limits boat traffic as well as visibility to other cottagers.
