Park
“Churchill Downs is a must for travelers visiting Lousiville. Most go to watch the races for Derby, but those who live in the city know that there is a much better way to see this iconic place without so many tourists. Thurby, which is an event only locals know about, is a less crowded and less expensive way to watch the horse race. It is only 10 dollars for admission and the best way to dress is business casual! There is Oaks day as well which is more crowded than Thurby but it is a fun place to go if you are looking to dress up and drink a bit.”

“A nice park to visit, especially when it’s been very dry. You can walk out onto the fossil beds when the water is very low. (Take the Second Street bridge to avoid the I-65 toll bridge.) Park is free but there is an admission fee to walk through the Discovery Center. ”
