Lovely large double room, with lovely views over the rolling Dorset countryside. Perfect location for coastal walks and exploring this quiet rural area. Julie and Mark were perfect hosts, helping us to make reservations at the best local pubs, and recommending various walks. We were welcome to do whatever we wanted for breakfast, bacon eggs cereal toast etc. Fabulous shared lounge with open log fire, and a pool table for a rainy day. A very dog friendly place, the dog mat and a bowl of treats were a lovely touch. Strongly recommended!

Just returned from a 48hr fishing adventure on the South Coast. Julie and Mark's place is lovely and exceptional value. They are so helpful, tolerant and welcoming hosts who bent over backwards to ensure my short stay was relaxing. The room is spacious, clean and tidy( exceptional comfortable and the power shower is heaven after a hard day on the beach. They have great plans for the future. I can not wait to go back (I will definitely stay again on my next South Coast fishing adventure)

A really lovely old house in a beautiful setting. My room was very spacious with a big, comfortable double bed and stunning views from the window. Excellent bathroom and shower room, all spotlessly clean as was the well equipped, modern kitchen. Mark and Julie are great hosts and my stay was very relaxed. I shall be staying again if I have work in the area again, and I thoroughly recommend this lovely place.

A fantastic unique house in an outstanding location.

Had a wonderful stay here. Magnificent house in glorious location...complete peace! Such a pretty room and beautiful bed linen and immaculately clean. Although the bedroom is quite small, there's a private living area with sofas and tv if you need it. (We didn't) Loved the location. Perfect for exploring the Dorchester area - Lyme Regis, Chesil beach and the Jurassic coast all very close by. Ashley a great host. We had a key (which takes you directly to the wing with your room) so we could come and go as we wanted. But Ashley happy to offer day trip and restaurant suggestions if you need them. He also does THE most amazing breakfasts -homemade granola, wonderful local sausages and bacon and eggs from his own chickens. Highly recommended and we'll definitely return!

We were looking for an interesting place to stay in south Dorset and Ashley's listing looked intriguing so we booked. And boy were we rewarded! A stunning Manor House with fabulous grounds in gorgeous location well off the beaten track. Ashley is a great character with a real 'glint in his eye' - he was a generous and utterly engaging host throughout. He cooked us a great breakfast whilst telling stories of restoring cars and mechanic-ing on the 'Mille Miglia'. His obvious love for his home, dogs and the countryside; and the hard work he puts in to keep it all so glorious made us feel very privileged to be allowed to stay! It would be very easy to think this review is so much hyperbole but I can genuinely say that 'privileged to have stayed there' was how we felt on leaving. How rare is that?

We enjoyed our stay at Ashley’s place very much. Especially the breakfasts were freshly made for us, with fresh figs from the garden and other local products. Hope we can make it another time again.

We had a great family winter holiday in the cottage. There are some nice walking courses around. We loved the view from the top of the valley which is only a few minutes walk from the cottage. We also had a lovely walk down to the beach and it took only 40 minutes. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed.

This place was ideal for a summer trip and the cottage had everything we needed e.g. very well equipped kitchen. Cosy, rural and great views over the countryside with the sea in the distance. Unfortunately had to miss out on Charlie's invitation to a scrumpy & music evening. We would like to come back one day.

Andrew's house is a hidden treasure on the beach of Chesil Beach. The cottage is very pleasant, perfect for a family or two couples. Hosting Andrew is very warm. It is available and gives excellent advice. As for the region, it is just beautiful. A great experience, renew soon

A pint of milk in the fridge would have been appreciated after a long journey with little ones! The cupboards were bare! In 4 days we never saw Andrew though he wife came over when we arrived. But the house was lovely

The house is in a gorgeous, secluded location, a few minutes walk from the beach. The rooms themselves are quirkily and tastefully decorated, with a well-stocked kitchen (all local produce) and a large DVD library for a few days' stay. The area nearby has plenty of great restaurants, most only a ten minute drive away. Andrew was the perfect host, always friendly, never intrusive, but always there to offer help if needed. A lovely couple of days!

Beautiful views and a beautiful cottage. We had the most amazing weekend. Andrew was a lovely host and we would definitely stay here again. The walk down the beach really is only 2 minutes and our dog also loved the place.

The first three words you will say on arrival here are "wow, wow, wow!" Short House is situated in the most spectacular setting. We were lucky enough to arrive late afternoon on a beautifully sunny September day to see it at its best. If you like a sea view and a rural setting you will not be disappointed. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you could need. It was clean and comfortable. Andrew was a perfect host and gave us some excellent recommendations of places to visit etc, he made us feel very welcome and arrived with wine and Dorset apple cake amongst other things! There are some great sights within easy reach of short house and the beach is a two minute walk across the field. We felt very lucky to have found such a great spot. Thank you Andrew!

Excellent place for a long weekend. We all had a great time in Short House. The place is very well decorated, and the bedrooms both very comfortable. Great to have the tennis court on site too! Andrew was around if we ever needed his advice on things to do.

We had a fantastic stay at the Short House. Our hosts went out of their way to improve our holiday with wine, fresh milk, eggs, bread, jam and even freshly baked cookies in the house, waiting for us. The kitchen is also well stocked cooking supplies and implements and of course the DVD and book collection in the pictures. The views are stunning, the beach is a short walk down the hill and all in all, it's a perfect getaway in picturesque Dorset. We will definitely be recommending the place to friends and would stay here again if we're in Dorset.

This place is an absolute hidden gem....perfect for a quiet getaway, with no neighbours and the beach just a 2 minute walk through a small flock of sheep :) Our host, Andrew, was very welcoming, and left us with a few essential supplies, including a much needed bottle of wine and some local produce from the farm shop. The Short House is well equipped in the kitchen, lovely and clean, and finished to a high standard. The view is stunning, and I look forward to enjoying it again for a longer visit. There is plenty to do around here, but the best part really was getting back from a day out and relaxing in a really beautiful surrounding with the sound of the sea. I highly recommend this place, and we will be definitely be back.... Many thanks to Andrew for having us!

The old apple store is a real home from home. Beautifully set out, cosy and comfy. The welcome hamper was a winner and as cheese lovers the complimentary cheeses from across the road where great. There's lots of information in the cottage prepared by our hosts and the walks were lovely. The guest journal was a nice touch. We just wished we'd booked a longer stay.

The 'Old Apple Store' is even nicer than the pics. It is in a beautifully peaceful spot and the basket of goodies left by Judy is the best we've yet had with airbnb. Big, comfortable bed and clean, modern shower room on the ground floor made it cooler for a quiet, good nights sleep. Watching the swifts and swallows from the first floor over dinner and breakfast was a real bonus. Lovely walks on the doorstep.

Good position with transport for visiting all the local places of interest both inland and coast. very comfortable and well appointed shower room. Lovely to have the animals in the orchard and the hens lay amazingly good eggs. Good farm shop at Modbury. Lots of information in the welcome folder. Judy and Martin very friendly and helpful. The cheese made in the dairy across the path is wonderful.

A real find! The Apple Store is in a unique location on the site of a working dairy. Its quite tucked away down narrow country roads but the good directions meant we found it fine, even in the dark! Judy's hospitality was exemplary with a stash of lovely Dorset produce on arrival. Spotlessly clean and well equipped it was a home away from home, except this temporary home had a pair of friendly donkeys and a bunch of chickens outside the window!! Judy was flexible with our arrival and made us very welcome. Brilliant value for money.

This is a beautiful and original place to stay. There is a balcony with views over the farm, fields and hills which provides a lovely place to sit and relax or bring the table out for meals. It's fun to watch the chickens and ducks scurrying about and the donkeys are quiet and friendly. There are walks straight out from the house so no need to get in the car to have a stroll or hike. Everywhere is spotless, the facilities are very well-appointed and comfortable. We slept extremely well on the supportive mattress. It was great to have lots of novels to read and a folder of ideas for days out - we didn't find time to turn on the TV nor miss having wifi. We needed an ironing board and iron to get ready for a wedding and lending us that wasn't a problem. It was also nice to meet our hosts and learn a bit more about their lovely home and the restoration work they have done there.. We'd love to go back.

This cottage was so lovely - perfect for a countryside escape and so easy to reach beautiful beaches! The cottage itself is homely, cosy and clean with everything we could have wanted. James had even left some biscuits, jam and milk for us on our arrival, making us feel welcome and at home straight away. I can't recommend this cottage enough!

A lovely place in a great location. James was very helpful and facilities like the fire helped make the break. The village is very picturesque but comes with a lack of mobile phone signal, which can be positive or negative depending on your view point! Checking in was easy and James helped with local information and with a top up of wood. We had a good night's sleep there and would definitely go again

Lovely cottage in a peaceful and secluded area . The cottage is well equipped and we had no problems finding anything we might have needed . The owner was very helpful and provided some tips on what to see in the local area .

The cottage is beautifully set up and was spotless. We were able to enjoy sitting in the garden amongst the beautiful plants and the comfort levels of the sofas and beds were very high.

Brilliant little cottage in a small village. If your looking to get away from it all this is perfect as you are only 10-15 min drive to all the Jurassic Coast has to offer. The cottage is great, very clean and obviously has had some recent rennovations as the bathrooms are quite modern for an older cottage. James was very helpful generally and made sure high chair and cot were available to us when we arrived for our little one. Also some doggy biscuits left out for our Labrador. Would definitely recommend.

The Snug was lovely. A perfect little hideaway on the Dorset coast. We stayed for two nights and it had everything we needed for a short visit. The accommodation is clean, tidy and neat with a bedroom and bathroom. There was a kettle, toaster and fridge with tea/coffee and even a couple of beers left for us :-). We had a bbq outside in the fire pit to cook in the evenings. Location was great for us as we could get a bus along the coast and hike back to where we were staying. But also lots to do within driving distance. Really recommend a stay here.

We had a lovely, relaxing few days in The Snug. The cabin is clean and comfortable with excellent facilities in an idyllic setting. Becky and the family were very warm and welcoming and did everything to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The location was ideal for walks to the beach, long rides and strolls through picturesque villages. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

We had a lovely stay this weekend at The Snug. Becky & family were very welcoming - Becky's Dad & brother-in-law were even kind enough to fix my car! The quiet village location was really nice, the local pubs, particularly the Crown Inn were great. Very nice walk through grazing fields to the coast and not too far to drive to Bridport/ Dorchester/ Weymouth. Thoroughly recommended.

The cabin and location are great. Kitty and Magnus are lovely and great hosts. The cabin is attached to their house, so it isn't quite as private as you may think. They have two little children who are very polite but like to be involved, so if you are looking for a complete getaway, this may not be the place to stay. If you like kids, then it is perfect.

The long cabin has everything you need, especially if you need a relaxing break. We were blown away by how well the space was used and really appreciated the welcome basket with fresh eggs and muffins to make breakfast. Just what we need after glastonbury festival!! Kitty and Magnus are two very welcoming and accommodating hosts with two cute children. The Long Cabin is literally perfect: a massive comfy bed, amazing decor, cosy log burner, speedy wifi, kitchenette (sink, kettle, fridge), rain shower and huge windows with countryside views. They even left us some fresh strawberries, milk, crisps etc. It's one of the best airbnb's I've ever stayed in. Close to all the Jurassic Coast attractions yet in a cute remote village. Kitty and Magnus are easily at hand for any queries yet the cabin is peaceful and secluded. Couldn't name one fault with the place. Seriously, if you're staying along the Jurassic Coast and you have a car, you need to stay at this place!

Brilliant place and very nice host

We visited with my 83 year old mum, our 4 children and their husbands/partners etc. We had an amazing time. The welcome basket and milk in fridge was a lovely touch. The location in perfect. The cottage is perfect. Amazingly well equipped, cleaned to a very high standard and basically just perfect. We hope as a family to visit again. James went to the trouble of coming to tell us where to take Mum to see the sea and enjoy a coffee without having to walk miles. Which we really appreciated. We can't recommend the house, James or the area highly enough. Miss this, you miss out

We had a delightful time at Jason's wonderful old farm house on the Jurassic coast. The home is superb, with plenty of indoor space. The gardens are also wonderful and the location just a couple of miles from the picturesque jurassic coast and plenty of good restaurants is ideal. I couldn't recommend the home more highly. We were greeted on our arrival and the departure was seemless. Jason was available for any assistance during the stay and ensured we knew how everything operated. We will definitely be going back when we are next in the UK.

Perry was very welcoming. The house was clean and comfortable. The accommodation is a bit quirky and unusual with a quaint double attic room and another double room on the 1st floor along with a bathroom. There are two cats roaming around and a lovely outside sitting area with a beautiful rural view. The house is on the A35 just before Winterbourne Abbas. Easy to miss as hidden behind the trees.

We had such an amazing stay at the round house, it's actually a dream house! It was the perfect place for our friends' hen weekend and we couldn't have had a better time. The house is beautiful, calm and luxurious and the location is stunning. Thank you Lisa for having us to stay!

Nutmeg House is an absolute one-off, the architecture, location and sea views are stunning and the house is laid-back luxurious, with a cool vibe. It has all the amenities the grown-ups want without feeling like you need to worry about your toddler leaving sticky marks anywhere. We loved the fire circle for toasting marshmallows, bouncing on the trampoline and searching for frogs in the garden. Lisa is a fab host, helpful but hands off and it is a real treat to be able to share this amazing home.

Amazing place. Better than the description and pictures

It was a superb break, Nutmeg house was a mix of quirky, hip and surf, cosy, safe, quiet, calm, idyllic, we were eight adults and two children (under two). It is perfect for a family gathering, spacious with huge kitchen dining room, yet intimate, a playroom with piano, and snug lounge with big screen television entertainment, DVD's (Freeview, No Sky). It felt Lisa had just popped out to the local village, it is a fully furnished functional lovely new safe home. The grounds are wonderful, we loved the fire circle, our hot drinks at night in the stars around the fire with plentiful supply of logs, and the swing for our young ones, there is room behind and up beyond the house to roam. The views are stunning from all bedrooms, and the kitchen Dining room across the fields to the sea, you can sit on the veranda decking and relax, read, or watch the wild rabbits in the garden, the cows in the distant fields. For the more adventurous, walks along the cliffs around Seatown and explore Lyme Regis as we did in glorious weather. The Anchor Inn Pub is worth a visit at Seatown, rated third best in Dorset. We ventured out each day in our cars (a must), the property sits in a secluded area which was the appeal for us, along a single narrow road (with passing places) and is reached via its drive which is steep at first by the entrance, first gear stuff, and then levels out with plentiful parking around the house. Lisa was a great host, very friendly and responsive, and nearby if the needs arose. We have many lovely memories, hundreds of photos captured in the three nights we were all together, and whilst we may explore new areas in the future, we would highly recommend Lisa's beautiful property and home to our friends. Thank you Lisa for having us to stay, we were sad to leave and the weather turned to heavy rain as we began to pack the car, we had the perfect timed stay.

We have just enjoyed an idyllic few days staying in the glorious Nutmeg house. It is a unique house which boasts breathtaking views and due to its secluded position, a wonderful place for the children to play and explore safely. Lisa made us feel very welcome and relaxed on arrival and the house was equipped with everything you could need for a fantastic family break.

This is a very special house in a secluded location with magnificent views over the Dorset hills and sea beyond. It was perfect for our 2 families (4 children in total) with lots of space and a large convivial kitchen/ dining area where all 8 of us could hang out without feeling cramped. The fire pit in the garden was quite a treat. The grounds and gardens were fabulous for the children who were able to run and play at will in total safety. The sunken trampoline and tree swings were a hit! Lisa was very helpful both before and during our stay. Highly recommended.

We spent an amazing weekend at the Round House. The views of the surrounding countryside are unsurpassable & Lisa's house is a "home away from home". We were a family of 9 (6 adults & 3 kids) and the house suited our needs perfectly. Very spacious and comfy. Perfect location for exploring the Jurassic Coastline. Bridport is just a stone's throw away - make sure you pop by Lisa's cafe for a coffee, cake, breakfast & lots more!

Jasper was exceptionally friendly, outgoing and willing to share his extensive knowledge of the surrounding areas. He gave us several great recommendations for things to see and do while we were we stayed in his newly converted guest accommodations. The buildings are all old, 19th century buildings, but the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen area were newly remodeled. The beds were very comfortable and Jasper's breakfast was amazing. Jasper makes and serves the breakfast and it was nothing short of outstanding. Thanks for the great stay!

This was such a great stay! Jasper was not only very helpful in guiding us to his place in the middle of the night, but also turned out to be a very kind host, a great breakfast chef, and a very interesting and interested personality. It was a fantastic two night stay with jasper, we truly got to relax and enjoy time in the quiet countryside.

Jasper's place was one of the best we have stayed in. Delicious breakfasts, stunning scenery, clean and comfortable rooms, a very starry sky, and above all an entertaining host with some interesting stories . Easy to find and great communication. Wouldn't hesitate to come back!

Jasper was incredible. Very accommodating, incredibly kind and can whip up an incredible breakfast. Fantastic location that you won't forget! Wish to make it back one day.

This was our first time using Air BnB and it did not disappoint. The farmhouse is in a beautiful location, surrounded by countryside. The bnb has two rooms so there was another couple who crossed over with us for one night. Whilst it didn't interfere too much, we'd probably prefer having the whole place to ourselves. Jasper though is such a friendly chap who made (huge) delicious breakfasts at a time convenient for us each morning- he fits completely into your plans and is a great host! Plus the shower and little details around the bnb are brilliant (bottled water, fresh flowers, different types of tea etc) I'd definitely recommend this place and it was the relaxing break both of us needed.
