The place is nice, but the house was really really hot and smelled a bit. The food is ok but expensive and small portions. But what is really bad is the fact that they know that at the end of the beach (west) on the way to the wizard beach people are robbed quite often. And that they do not warn you! So we were robbed from a man with a mask and a machete. He "just" took all our cash and not our Camera... But still that was a really bad feeling.

This is a sweet spot for staying next to the tent lodge and use of their facilities and beach.....but not having to sleep in a TENT! Considering you can sleep 4 people this is a deal. Would be nice if they offered a single price and installed a door so they could then lock off the other room. But very happy with my stay ease of communication and all the staff at the tent lodge were awesome.

Excellent experience. Although we never met Lisa, she was quick to answer all of our questions and she was very helpful. With this rental, you are basically a guest at the Palmar tent lodge, and you are a few minutes walk to their beachfront bar/restaurant. The Palmar staff was very helpful to help us, always friendly and most of the staff spoke English. Very accommodating with check in and check out times for us. I suggest you bring cash as there is a 5% charge for using credit. Also, we found it to be very hot in the room at night even with the fans (which is to be expected but just a heads up). It is solar powered so be warned that you have to limit electric use. I would recommend this listing to anyone that like unique Eco-friendly experiences with the added bonus of 24 hour wifi.

Great accommodation option for Red Frog beach! The apartment was bright and spotlessly clean - complete with free drinking water. Excellent communication with Lisa and an amazing experience with Red Frog Bungalows, who are managing the property and were extremely welcoming and hospitable. You have the option to have meals there (which were fantastic) and use their common area (and wifi). They even walked us to the boat dock when we left to make sure we got on a boat ok. You also have the flexibility to check out other options in the Red Frog area. Highly recommended!

Beautiful enviroment. close to the beach. right in the jungle. very clean, no moscitos. Wonderful nature. the restaurant near by, very good. not so cheap but delicious. nice view. the two rooms are tiny and there is no space to storage your luggage. there was nearly no service, no informations. hard to get even towels. We have been one of the first visitors, so I think this will change soon and getting better.

Värden tog emot oss på bästa sätt och boendet motsvarade presentationen. De 2 rummen är avsedda för 4 personer. Luftkonditionering saknas men huset ligger infällt ibland höga träd så vi led inte av värme. Renligheten var perfekt och läget med 100 m till sandstranden och till restaurangen. Vi är mycket nöjda.

This was place is beautiful :) Maritza and Gareth are great hosts ! I found the layout of Bastimentos to be crowded, houses almost in the yards of their neighbors, so don't expect to be secluded. Aside from my opinions of Panama as a woman traveling alone - this apartment was great , it was clean and peaceful with a great natural surrounding Maritza was very good with communication and with arriving to the house - it was a pleasure to meet you guys - take care !

We enjoyed Maritza's place for one brief, but nice night. The apartment is a little tricky to find, but her husband Gareth met us close to the public dock and led us there. It is a steep hike up to the place, and can be a bit slippery after rain, so wear good shoes. The apartment was clean and comfortable and close to some excellent restaurants.

This home was just so lovely! Maritza and Gareth were so accommodating and giving and were very flexible with our check in time. This home is located in the middle of a jungle forest like area in the Old Bank. Beautiful sceneries and we liked that it was low key and peaceful. Great for the price too! You must stay here!! We had a really great time staying in the jungle apartement at Maritzas and Garreths place! The apartement had all we needed for a couple of days in beautiful Isla Bastimentos. Maritza and Garreth were so nice, always making sure we were fine in the apartement and giving us good info about things to do and beaches to explore. If we go back this is the place we would stay in. Thank you so much Maritza and Garreth!

Maritza and her husband were lovely hosts! We had excellent communication from the moment I booked the reservation. They were always making sure that we felt comfortable during our stay. We enjoyed chatting with them, and also got various recommendations for things to do during our trip. The place was a little bit tricky to find at first, but you can always ask a local to find the place in case you need to. The cabin has an authentic Caribbean vibe which is what we were looking for. I would definitely come back next time.

La casa muy bien y las atenciones recibidas por Maritza excepcional. Pero la isla de Bastimento ,pese a ser un parque Nacional Marino ,la gente local es poco amigable y la basura está por todos lados, una pena y una gran (URL HIDDEN) todas las islas Bastimento no es la más segura ni limpia ni preparada para el turismo.

Didn't really use the place as I had plans in the evening and left early in the morning but it was clean comfortable and very well equipped - location was great too

The host didn't even show up to check us in or give us any information about the house. So we ended up discovering that the toilet was broke, we had to use a bucket to flush it and it stinked. There was barely any water, we were 5 people in the house, only 2 people were able to shower. We booked a pricier house like this one due to have a kitchen to cook, but it's hard to cook or wash dishes without water. The deck is nice, but there's no bar as described, it's all rotten and in no condition to use as for the outdoor bathroom.

Wir fühlten uns mehr oder weniger willkommen...etwas mehr Interesse oder Fragen von seiten des Mitarbeiters vor Ort , ob wir was brauchen wäre allerdings nett gewesen. Die Unterkunft war gemütlich und bot unserer Familie genügend Platz. Leider waren Küche und Bad nicht sehr sauber und wurden während unseres Aufenthalts auch nie richtig geputzt. Schade! Super war, dass die Unterkunft nahe beim Bootssteg war und dennoch ruhig nachts.

We are a family of 4 from the UK the kids are 12 and 15. Dan is a very easy guy to communicate with, no hassles and comes back quick. The place is as describe, but does need some more kitchen stuff (plates, glasses etc.). The location is great, just far enough out for the weekend music not to disturb your sleep, but only a 30 second walk to get into the main street. Bastimentos is a great place.. forget Boca.. that's just a load of concrete. For a great time book this place experience real life, with real people. You can grab a boat to travel around with, we used a guy called Roberto... speaks gr8 English and goes out of his way... organise a daily rate. We spent 3 nights at Dan's place which gave us a couple of days to see the area.. Bat Cave.. dont miss it... and of course snorkeling(Roberto provided the equipment). We also went to Bocas for a quick look around and to buy some fishing bait.... I did try to fish but didnt catch anything (had my own rod and tackle). Best place we found to eat was the Hostel Bastimentos.. down the main street and a right .. its a yellow place.. serves great food at bargin prices with local staff. You can try the Fire Fly next door but the prices are high with American staff... I came away to meet locals so it wasn't for me.. food was ok but service was slow. We spent a couple of weeks driving all over Panama... and I can say that you should not miss out Bastimentos and Dans place great people and great value.

It was great staying at Dan and Lily's. The place is super quiet, the hosts are really nice and welcoming. The house is clean and spacius. Its just the perfect place to relax and enjoy the nature. I would definitely recommend it!!!!

We had two lovely days at Lily and Dan's beach cabin. Communication was easy and Lily was there to meet us on arrival to show us around and had good tips on what to do and where to eat. Our two girls enjoyed running around the terrace and the whole cabin is much bigger than we expected, although the kitchen facilities were fairly basic. It was also close to the sea and had a lovely sea breeze. The Firefly bar and hotel is close by and there are other nice options to eat plus three shops to buy anything we needed. The Island was very different to Bocas Town and it was great to see a different perspective. We would come back if we are ever in this part of the world again. Thanks Lily.

Dan and Lily's place was the perfect spot to stay on Bastimentos! Aside from being wonderful hosts the house is in a fantastic location. Just outside the main hub - so nice and quiet - yet only a few minutes walk to restaurants, water taxi, etc. The sound of the waves at night was magical and the hammocks on the porch lured us in. We stayed here with our daughters who are 6 and 8 and it was perfect. Would highly recommend this place!

The apartment provides amenities to cook meals. The bedrooms have fans to keep you cool. The loft allows you to relax outside and see the ocean. The sound of the ocean is very comforting. The apartment is in a great location.

Dan & Lily were great hosts and welcomed us very friendly! Dan was very fast in answering my questions before booking, which was very convenient. Compared to the other locations on bastimentos or the area of Bocas del torro in general I would go to Dan & Lily's apartment for a 100%. The most negative thing was that the place could have been a bit better maintained (the roof was leaking at some minor places, but Dan promised he will get it fixed asap), but everything was working and compared to other guests, we didn't really have problems with water shortage! (it rained more I guess). Minor negative points and only mentioned by a part of our group, is that there is no place on the veranda for sunbathing (everything is covered by the roof) and that it is not nice to swim in the sea close to the apartment. But still the Diamond of the apartment is for sure the huge veranda where we hung up up to four hammocks (1 was there but we had 3 of our own) and we had still space to eat. The beds were also quite comfortable and the huge fridge and the kitchen were very useful to us as well, as we cooked a lot. The location is also really nice, it's close to the "center" of the town, but far enough that you don't have any noises (except the ocean and some dogs ;) ) So all together we can really recommend staying here. Other important points for tourists on bastimentos: It's prohibited to walk around without t-shirt (could be that they put you in a cell for a day, from what we have heard). There are a lot of robberies when you walk to the wizards beach (don't take anything costly to the beach and don't wear backpacks, as they just take the whole backpack). Sometimes there are dangerous currents at beaches facing the open sea (be careful while swimming). It would have been nice if Dan told us about it, but nothing happened so it was nothing bad either.

Very good value for Bocas. We actually decided to stay 3 more days due to the comfort. Maurice is a great host and helped us with our bags. It's only less than 10 minutes to walk most places in town, 5 minutes to our regular hangout. The beds were comfortable and combined with the ac make getting a good night's rest easy. Gas stove was a huge plus for us as we like to cook most of our meals. The property is beautiful with a multitude of flowers. Definitely would recommend.

I had a wonderful experience at Sun Havens. It was incredibly convenient to the main street, but far enough away to be quiet at night. Tomas was very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Any time I needed anything he was available. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean. I would recommend this place to others.

Sun Havens is in the town and an easy walk to restaurants, bike rental, groceries, bars etc. So the location is very central. The apartment while not fancy is fully functional with good cable good internet connection and hot water. For the price its an excellent value because Bocas in fact is not as cheap as a lot of Central America. Decent 1 bdrm furnished rentals run $1200 to $1800 per month. The manager Maurizio was very available and helpful. If you're seeking quiet during the day and night you'll want to get out of the main town and look towards Bluff Beach or Y Greiga area. In the town and just outside of it has many discos and bars and just people's homes that blast music. Further out there are more secluded places but they tend to cost more.

My four friends and I had a good stay at Sun Havens! Maurizio was super helpful and gave us some great suggestions on where to eat and go sightseeing!

When we arrived we were given a very warm welcome by Michel, who gave us all the information we needed about the appartment and the town. The appartment was beautiful with a breath taking view, and it had all the amenities we desired. All in all we had a great stay and would love to come back.

Can definitely recommend staying here whilst visiting Bocas del Toro. Michel was very accommodating helping to arrange transfer to/from the short distance to the airport. The flat is well appointed with everything you'd need to "live" for a few days or a few weeks. A/C is helpful if it's hotter at night and the one in the bedroom does it's job! Well located and convenient to explore the town and the others in the archipelago. Go now!

The unit was just as described. Simple, clean, with a beautiful view. We loved being able to swim off the community dock. The office manager was wonderful and responsive, helping us with everything from getting laundry done to making sure we were OK when a particularly rough storm came through. I would definitely stay here again.

We spent two days in Michel's house. The flat was very clean, fully equipped and is very well located, close to the docks and 5min walk from all the restaurants, bars and shops. It was very quiet at night and enjoyed a lot our stay. I would definitely go back to Michel's for a future trip to Bocas. Highly recommended!

Stayed at M&M residence for 6 nights with another couple and it was exactly the place we were looking for. We had a wonderful ocean-view from our balcony and living room window. The A/C units in the home definitely kept the place adequately cool. The beds and pillows were comfortable and overall a very clean establishment. Michel was very personable. He would consistently check-in with the guests to make sure their needs were taken care of. Very friendly and great to communicate with. We loved having the dock right outside our room so we could go for swims in the ocean. After we checked-out (and had to wait quite a while for our flights); Michel offered us fresh towels and directed us to the common-area shower to use before our flights. These details definitely make a difference in my overall experience at Michel's residence. Great location, walking distance to all the amenities in Bocas Town. Would recommend staying here if anyone is traveling to Bocas Town!

The location was perfect for me. Extremely close and walkable to everything of interest, but not in the center of the loud nightlife.

Chris was most accommodating to our travel schedule. We were met at the airport by Dominique which was a great surprising welcome. The apartment is located 5 min walk from the Main Street which is ideal. It is as described / per photo; clean and all that you require in Bocas. We would definitely stay there again!

Good location away from the noise but close enough to walk. A nice crib was provided which is a rare find in any accommodation in Bocas. Fully equipped kitchen and rice cooker was helpful in making meals at home.

Amazing location right on the water (can swim right off the patio) and great view of Bocas Town. Outdoor areas are shared with a couple other apartments, but wasn't really an issue. Bar right next door with boats waiting to take you wherever you want to go. Apartment was OK, was nice to have a/c. Had some issues with the water not working at times, but I was assured that it was a public water problem. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Sandi and her place were amazing ! She and her family are very nice people. The space is big , clean and beautiful ,also very close to the beach and to nature .I definitely recommend it .

Sandi was very responsive when we first arrived, making it easy to meet up with her to get a ride to our location. It was a little farther outside of town then we were originally expecting, but the place was very nice. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Sandi picked us up at the airport, she was a nice person. The house was amazing, very clean and all what you need for stay. Our place was perfect for 2 people. Its kinda far away from town but you can get a taxi it cost around 2$ per person, and it takes 10 min max from the town. I definitely would recommend this place to stay un bocas and get disconnected from the world.

A great little condo in a fantastic location. Only 2 blocks from the main street in Bocas Town, but totally quiet a night. A cheap, but good, little laundry right around the corner along with several grocery stores.
