Places to stay in Howth
Beautiful cottage in Howth right beside the scenic cliff path. Ideal for couples or small families. Your own private place in a lovely part of Howth. Enjoy amazing walks, check out our delicious seafood restaurants or grab a pint and listen to some great music in one of our wonderful pubs. Plenty of room in our charming, very comfortable 1 bedroom cottage down a private lane. Living room and private bathroom with fabulous shower. No kitchen but tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge.
One bedroom with a very comfortable double bed. Separate cosy living room with exposed brick over fireplace leads into another room with a TV and a sofabed, suitable for 1 adult or 2 small children. Lovely clean, bright and very large bathroom with a fabulous shower can be accessed from both the bedroom and living room. Extra air mattress available upon request.
Howth is an idyllic fishing village on the northeast of Dublin and has been immortalised in James Joyce’s Ulysses. The grounds of 15th-century Howth Castle have rhododendron gardens and a transport museum with local trams. The 19th-century Martello Tower houses a vintage radio museum. The medieval ruins of St. Mary’s Abbey lie nearby. A clifftop trail has sweeping sea views, indeed H.G. Wells once remarked that Howth had "the finest views west of Naples". Offshore, Ireland’s Eye is an island bird sanctuary with an ancient ruined church. Walk around this working fishing village to explore the range of food on offer. Enjoy the best traditional fish and chips in the city or sample some of the finest seafood cuisine all with the added perk of stunning coastal views.
  • David and Celine were spectacular hosts and made our stay in Ireland. The space is lovely and situated perfectly in Howth for hiking, golf, and restaurants. It is wonderfully quiet yet only a short drive into Dublin or a 20min train. I will stay here each time I return to Ireland. Could not recommend more highly!

    Aaron & Amanda2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Celine's place is very comfortable and cosy, and a good location if you want a mix of city and country/coastal break. (We explored both without hiring a car). Howth is a lovely antidote to a busier time in Dublin. Celine and David are super friendly and helpful - there if we needed anything at all but respectful of giving us our own space. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.

  • I had an amazing stay in celine‘s lovely cottage. it is a great hideaway for a few days, very close to the cliffs.

    Tobias2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful cottage. It was very clean upon arrival and the extra touch of a bottle of wine was a lovely addition. Very close to the cliff walks and a short walk down the hill to the centre and harbour.

    Ferne2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you have the time take an extra day just to walk the paths and take a lunch.

In the beautiful surroundings of Howth, our snug, a studio room in the grounds of our tranquil home, is a bright, private, relaxed, intimate space, perfect for the travelling couple. The room offers homely sleeping, sitting and basic kitchenette facilities, with a shower en-suite.
An extra mattress can be provided on the floor to facilitate a child / or a travel cot for an infant if needed, please let us know in advance. A basic self service continental breakfast of cereal tea and toast is supplied in the kitchenette area in the room.
You will find in the snug a detailed folder on the amenities in Howth including walks, out door activities, golf, restaurants, pubs and historical interests.
  • Couldn't fault the experience. Margot's snug is immaculate, beautiful inside (pictures do not do it justice). It's intimate in size and stocked with the basic amenities. Margot herself was very affable and super responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Location wise we were just over 5 min drive from the centre of Howth. And local shops etc were close by. Thanks again for the great stay. Hope to be back again and would strongly recommend to other BnBers

    Jake2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Margot amply deserves its super-host status. She came to welcome us most warmly with her husband when we arrived. And when we left, the latter came to greet us, just as warmly. The "Snug" is indeed very comfortable and very cozy, immaculate, sufficiently spacious, and very well equipped. Despite the wind and showers at the start of January, we were never cold and lacked nothing. The entrance is truly independent, and our hosts were more than discreet, while remaining easily accessible. The wi-fi is of excellent quality, like the bedding. The breakfast provided is a very pleasant plus, which gives it an unbeatable value for money! The other bonus of this rental is the Howth Peninsula itself. We were delighted to have planned this stopover during our visit to Dublin. Howth is indeed a fishing port located in the suburbs, just 1/2 hour by train ("RER" type) from Dublin city center (runs every 1/4 hour during the week). But it is also a peninsula with beautiful hills, a small satellite island, already imposing cliffs and a very pretty cape surmounted by a lighthouse, offering a sumptuous view of Dublin Bay. All of this offers the opportunity for magical hikes, with viewpoints each more beautiful than the next. If you do not have the opportunity to discover the mythical Ireland of Kerry or Connemara, you have here a small digest already very nice, only 1/2 hour from Dublin! The ideal is therefore to organize your hikes in Howth on sunny days, to enjoy its beautiful landscapes (Allow 4 hours to go around the island if you want to keep some photographic memories), carry out your seal safari (watch the channel at the entrance to the port, this is where these buccaneers stand to escort fishing boats when they return) or your digestive walk on the long pier, watch for voracious gulls (watch out for your fries ) and the many herons posted on the roofs, or simply, stuffing yourself with fish, seafood, stew and Guinness in one of the nice restaurants that line the quays. It is also possible to visit the beautiful little island opposite, it seems that it harbors the ruins of a tower, and that it hosts a colony of seals and many birds. On rainy days, you can retreat to Dublin, and complete your visit to this warm city where partying, laughing and enjoying friendship is erected in the art of living. In short, we loved it, and we will definitely come back, to Margot, for sure.

    Audrey2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the snug was lovely. Howth is a nice place to stay if you don't want to stay in central Dublin. There are plenty things to do and the harbour is very pretty. The snug is close to a bus stop so transportation works great. Margot was a lovely host and everything was provided! Thank you for the great stay. :)

    Lea2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 5 nights with Margot in her wonderful snug. The ideal place to switch off and enjoy nature. We would like to come back. :)

    Paul2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy place, with great views and restaurants nearby as well as a full service laundry service which works by weight, very reasonable. Be sure to bring shampoo and conditioner. Mattress is ok. Small refrigerator gets very cold...

    Roman2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our pleasant stay with Margot began before we even left for our destination. Our flight landed earlier than the standard check in time and she made sure to accommodate us! Once we arrived we found a bottle of wine and a note of congratulations for us (we were on our honeymoon)! The Snug is lovely and cozy, and was a great base of operations for our trip to Dublin. Margot has an excellent guide for Howth (make SURE you spend some time in the village!) And the surrounding areas. I highly recommend The Snug.

    Breana2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice cosy spot.Everything was as stated.Great location for Howth cliff walk and a plesent 15 minute walk to the village Bus to city from end of the road. If you don't know Howth it is a lovely fishing village with great walks, and lots of excellent bars and restaurants, well worth a visit. Margot would be a perfect host for your visit.

    Tony2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures didn't really do the Snug credit. It is a cosy place, comfy bed, quite well equipped kitchen area and small bathroom. There is a small table and a couple of chairs in there as well. There was bread in the bread jar, milk in the fridge, a few other bits and pieces. I was a very late arrival, 25 minutes drive from the Dublin Port on the late ferry from Holyhead Easy to find and the arrival instructions meant I didn't have to disturb Margot on my arrival. Howth is a lovely village, trains and buses into the city throughout the day. Plenty of places to eat and drink within a couple of kilometres.

  • Great apartment, amazing views of the sea! Alan was a great host, self check-in was great, instructions were super clear. Responses to messages were fast and useful. Alan provided us with great tips on where to go to eat and drink.

  • Fantastic front-line location overlooking the marina and harbour with fabulous sea views. Generous space for a couple with separate dining kitchen, living room and en-suite bedroom. Handy for a great selection of shops/bars/restaurants. Alan was a great host and was readily contactable with good tips on where to go in Howth. Lovely walks from the doorstep, and good transport links by bus and DART, no need for a car but there is plenty of parking to hand should you require it.

    Andrew2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start?! Amazing experience from start to finish. The really special touch was the care and attention Alan gave to communication. Always prompt, friendly and helpful. The flat was lovely, perfect for us as two friends on a weekend away! Scrupulously clean and well equipped too. The location is simply gorgeous. Howth really is it’s own little gem within reach of the city. I can’t imagine coming back to Dublin and staying anywhere other than Howth, and if Alan’s flat was free and he’d have us back, I’d stay again in a heartbeat!

    Kate2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect apartment to be in the heart of Howth. It was nice to have a kitchen for coffee and scones in the morning and a nice living room to sit back and watch a little TV for some break time. Shops and pubs right outside the door and the cliff walk is right around the corner. We loved Howth.

    Victoria2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing, very clean, nice kitchen, great living room,... Howth is a great little city and is a great place near Dublin. Alan is very nice and is always reachable. Thank you Alan! See you

    Sébastien2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy place with everything you can possibly need (we even used the dryer after we got soaked through) combined with great views of the harbour and lots of sky! As we had some cool nights in October we were grateful for heating (timed radiators, mobile electric heater and electric underblankets! Yay!) Only piece of advice: move the armchair away from the radiator wall while it is on, makes a lot of difference to the room temperature! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own food and save on restaurant bills. This is a great place, shops, cafes, pubs and busstop very close. The Dart Station a short walk away or 2 stops on the bus. The 31 takes you right into Dublin or up to the Summit, from where you can take the coastal walk down to the apartement again. There are seals at the harbour and you can watch them feed on fish or just frollick. So many herons, huge variety of birds , sometimes harbour porpoises or birds of prey, we even observed a fox and pheasant just a rock apart. The coastal path is worth walking a few times, keep your eyes open for the wildlife at different times of the day. This was our 2nd stay and we loved it again.

  • We didn't actually stay at his place because of a mix up but through the communication we had, I feel that Garrett is an excellent host

    Peter2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Garrett's apartment is located in the perfect spot to explore Dublin. The train station is a 2 minute walk away and there are numerous shops and pubs in the area. Underground car parking is typically tight but works if you have a medium size car but there is plenty of public park parking within walking distance. Recommended.

    Andrew2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We - my wife, my daughter, and my daughter's fiance, had only a single late afternoon and evening to spend in Howth, before going to the airport the next morning to fly back to the U.S. Which is too bad, as the town, and its enivirons, are so nice and more time there would have been great. So we spent only a single night at Garrett's place, but it was an excellent choice for us in every respect. Very comfortable, and stylish, and with a terrific location right by Howth harbor. We would happily stay there again, or have made a longer stay of it. Garrett met us on arrival, and was a perfect, helpful, host in every way.

Great cosy apartment, super restaurants, bars, cafes. Public transport at the door. Upstairs from the truly wonderful ' The House'. Breakfast can be ordered in bed! Wifi & movies. Explore the village, meet the locals, walk the cliffs, swim in the sea, golf, mountain bike, hike, walk, sail. CHILL OUT(note: we have installed a flying black hawk and the seagulls are no longer near the apartment) see photo!
This is believed to be the house where Captain Bligh (of Mutiny on The Bounty fame) lived while he surveyed Dublin Bay in the year 1800.
It's a hugely historical village by the sea. Amazing scenery with great outdoor activities on your doorstep. A quality food offering and a lively pub scene too.
  • Karl was a friendly and helpful host. We really enjoyed our stay in his very well appointed apartment and loved discovering the local area. It’s location is great and we would love to return one day .

  • Karl's place is a gem. The location is excellent, the place is clean and Karl is a friendly and prompt communicator. The House restaurant just down below is delicious and the food is sourced with local ingredients. You can enjoy the area without the hustle and bustle of Dublin, though the DART is close by if you wish to jump into the city. We will be back!

  • We were delighted with our stay in the cabin. It was immaculately clean with everything you could need and loads of thoughtful touches too. The location was great, with stunning views of the sea and Howth just a 20 minute walk along the beach (at low tide!). Toni was so welcoming and provided loads of helpful tips - and her homemade bread was delicious!

    Nina2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Toni, you have made our trip to Ireland one of the most memorable. Thank you so much for you hospitality, friendliness, and kindness. Not many hosts will offer suggestions of what can be done in town, nor will any other host actually offer to drive you to her/his favorite spots. THE BEST EXPERIENCE. The Cabin is by far our favorite Airbnb. It is definitely a gem and the view was amazing. We really appreciate the breakfast fixings and the delicious brown bread! Definitely recommending The Cabin to anyone taking a trip to Howth/Dublin.

    Victoria2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was amazing. It is literally right by the water. It is very cosy. Toni even provided homemade bread and jam for breakfast as well as water orange juice and some beers. It was very thoughtful. She checked in with us frequently over airbnb and even gave us tips about traffic getting there from dublin. Overall highly recommend this place!!

    Peter2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this place. Fantastic accommodation and great hosts. If you’ve never been to Howth, go. Brilliant harbour town and only a 10 minute walk down the beach from the cabin. The compact cabin has all you need and with the host leaving us bread, drinks and cereal for breakfast it’s more like bed and breakfast! Fish lovers paradise in Howth. Excellent restaurants and great bars to suit all tastes. Easy to get around , everything accessible by foot and transport nice and easy. Will definitely return. If returning to Dublin airport I would advise booking taxi well in advance. Uber poor around Howth. Buses all good to airport also cheap but will take longer. €35 euro paid on metered cab on way there from airport. Make sure you take a walk up the hill towards the old Abbey. Some great bars/restaurants up there off the main track. Lots of traditional live music. Go and enjoy.

    Ursula2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great trip to Howth. The cabin is a beautiful and peaceful place. We loved hiking the cliffs and exploring for the day and being able to return to enjoy fresh seafood at the restaurants on the pier. Toni is so responsive and kind!

  • Conor and his wife are very friendly and welcoming. The room was neatly decorated, everything you need is there for you. Conor made me breakfast every morning, which is a huge plus! During our chats in the morning he gave me a few tips on where to go, which I absolutely appreciated! And also the excited cuddles with Nina, his dog, contributed to the warm and welcoming charme of my stay in Sutton. Anytime again, I can highly recommend it!

  • Very clean, welcoming hosts

    Ciara2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Conor is a friendly welcoming host, nothing is to much trouble. The location is away from traffic and easy for parking.

    Paul2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Conor's home is in a quiet estate at the edge of Sutton, but access to the city centre is very easy, either using DART (railway) or by bus. Coming from and going to the airport is also very quick, which is convenient if you have an early flight out. Conor is the warmest and most welcoming host. I felt the truly at home staying at his house. He gave me excellent advice on things to see and do. The morning chats during breakfast were quite enjoyable and very informative. He helped me with anything I needed. If you don't need to be in the centre this is more than an excellent option. The room is very cozy and ideal for the solo traveler. Howth, which has some rather nice pubs, can be reached relatively quick on foot too.

    Lewbaca2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely and quiet room with a great view, delicious breakfasts and informative conversations. Conor is extremely knowledgeable about the entire region - he answered every question with enthusiasm and ease! Sutton/Howth has excellent daily walking tracks all around the peninsula, amazing food (catch of the day in Howth and a wonderful Thai takeaway in Sutton) and nearby public transit (Dart) takes you right into the city and beyond! In a word- outstanding! Thank you, Conor!

    Cheryl2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Conor’s home is a peaceful oasis about 30 minutes from Dublin’s city centre hubbub. He offers comfortable quiet accommodation as well as a nice continental breakfast and a chat to start your day. Conor also has a wealth of knowledge about Dublin and Ireland. Highly recommended.

    Brendan2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, hospitable and always easily reachable. I had a brilliant stay in a cozy room and enjoyed Conor's local expertise to help exploring Howth and Dublin. Would definitely recommend!

Howth is a quaint fishing village on the northern fringes of Dublin Bay. There is a large marina with lighthouses, a castle, an old abbey, and some great hiking trails. The town is nestled around the harbor with two long piers. Howth offers natural beauty along with Irish history, some excellent restaurant and good food cafes, and a plethora of pubs. Howth is the last stop on the DART line (Dublin Area Rapid Transit system) linking the city center with the coastline. It's a favourite spot for Dubliners who need to get out of "the big smoke," as Dublin is called, and breathe some fresh sea air.

  • Location, location, location! I love Howth and I love it even a bit more now. Perfectly appointed room in a perfectly appointed house. Not many places available like this in Howth - well overdue. Steps from Abbey Tavern, King Sitric and Harbor Bar. Just need to fall out of bed for super yummy breakfast at The Grind. Walked it all off on pier and cliff walk. Fantastic place to come back to over and over and enjoy Ireland’s Eye and all Howth offers.

  • Such a beautiful place! Melanie and Patrick were perfect hosts who were incredibly patient and kind even though we interrupted their dinner on our first night. Thanks also for the many good tips on where to go (Melanie's lovely mom was very helpful, too).

    Kathrin 2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fabulous stay at a lovely home, near the cliff walks of Howth-- absolutely gorgeous and relaxing!

    Lindsay2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie and Pat are wonderful hosts with an absolutely gorgeous home! I was admittedly very much out the door for most of my trip, exploring Howth and Dublin, so we didn't get to chat too much, but they are both absolutely lovely people and great conversationalists. Their home is stunning, right on the water—couldn't be more picturesque. Easy to get into Dublin, but Howth itself is full of fun things to do as well. I sincerely appreciated breakfast being left out each morning (even though I slept pretty late each day I was there). Plenty of privacy in the house, and the heated blanket on the bed is life-changing. Hope to be able to visit again in the future!

    Katie2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about Melanie and Pat's amazing hospitality and all the great tips they gave in order to make it a quite fantastic time in Howth. I quite enjoyed the accommodations (the house was fabulously charming and peaceful!) the conversation, the gorgeous cliff walks (practically right at the trailhead), and all the food recommendations that they gave as well! A very walkable distance into town with wonderfully scenic views along the way. The DART was also very accessible to take a trip into Dublin for the day. So very worth it!

    Helen2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for some beautiful hikes along the ocean and a clean home with a nice area to eat wonderful breakfasts, this is the place. Located 30 minutes from Dublin and a fair walk from the Dart. This is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days out of the hustles day bustle of every day Dublin. Lived our visit to Howth.

    Annette2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Howth and really enjoyed the hospitality. Room and bathroom were very tidy, breakfast was good and Melanie+Patrick provided us with maps and good information about Howth+Dublin. We felt very comfortable during our stay.

    Alex2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and cosy room with a big bathroom near. 2 cute small dogs. Breakfast in their own kitchen, with a very nice view. Close to the harbour front - and uphill, so good exercise.. Can highly recommend this place - good value for the money.

We really enjoyed walking the cliff paths in Howth (stunning views & wildlife), exploring the village (The Abby tavern opposite the house does great food and music, there’s a supermarket and good deli 5 minutes up the hill) and getting the DART train into Dublin (takes about 25 minutes)

  • We booked the studio apartment (room #8) last minute because my husband and I needed a place to stay near the airport. This place was amazing! The hosts were so quick to respond to our booking and provide all necessary information for check in. We arrived shortly after and check in was very easy. The room was very nice, stylish and cozy! It had all the amenities we needed and more. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Oh, and the town of Howth is wonderful and we met some very nice locals that evening. Thanks again!

  • Very clean, stylish and lovely place. The front rooms have views over Howth harbour and the sea which is beautiful. Ideal check-in process with key box and very clear communications on how to use it all. Everything was provided for in the room, we had the one with a kitchen, oven, sink, pots and pans, stove etc.. Very smart use of a relatively small space, but lovely decorated and modern and has everything you may wish for during a stay in Howth. Walking distance to everything and also great value compared to other places in Howth. Would highly recommend!

  • Book this spectacular Martello Tower immediately! As long as you don't mind the narrow, winding, stone staircases, and low doorways, you will have an amazing time! (My husband is 6'6" and managed just fine.) The Tower is spotless, with views and an atmosphere that are spectacular! Mary and Bill, thank you so much for the hospitality, quick responses to questions, the food items you provided, and an unforgettable adventure in Ireland.

    Diana2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome! 360 degree view of Dublin bay, in the heart of great walking/hiking trails, convenient to the dining pleasures of Howth. Excellent bed, bath, kitchen, and laundry facilities. We didn't watch the TV as the view of the bay and grounds topped anything on television. The hosts were very responsive to our needs and requests. BUT not handicapped accessible. Multi-level, with typical narrow stone spiral staircase found in many historical structures, OK for able bodied. We're 60ish and had no problem. If you are looking for a special experience, this is the place!

  • Gorgeous location in Howth- the church across the street is absolutely breathtaking from the outside. Pubs and shops conveniently located right down the road, and both the cliff walk and the ocean front walk were a must see. At least 45 minutes outside of Dublin city center, but a nice respite after a busy day. House is well maintained and clean, beds were comfortable, and everything seems new and recently updated. Parking was on the street only, and finding the house was difficult when we first arrived (tucked away and very private!) We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

  • Thank you Emer for being such a great host.  Our stay with you was the perfect way to kick off an unforgettable week in your amazing country.  The #1 reason that we loved the Emerald Isle so much was the hospitality and friendliness from the people that we encountered along the way, starting with that lovely homemade breakfast that you served us - a wonderful treat!  The room and amenities were exceptionally clean and perfect for our overnight stay in Howth!

    Ben2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Not only was the place beautiful, clean and comfortable, Emer was a magnificent host. I had NO idea that my stay would be so perfect when I booked. I’m not sure the pictures do justice, because this little piece of heaven had wonderful and warm touches that were so peaceful and serene. I was very pleasantly surprised with the wonderful breakfasts she made! Fresh figs right from her tree, and MANY homemade treats! I completely enjoyed getting to know Emer. She’s a beautiful person inside and out, and I felt like I was staying with a friend. I was tired and weary at the end of a long trip and this setting was just what I needed. It’s perfectly located - and I do mean PERFECTLY - to many beautiful hikes/walks, sites and the town itself. Emer is a great resource and knows everything there is to know about Howth. For the reasonable price I paid, my stay went well beyond my expectations. Stay here!! Get to know Howth and Emer!! Just loved it. Oh - and the take away breakfast she packed for the airport was incredible!! What a great start to my long journey home! I appreciated this beautiful home.

    Kelly Erica2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night at Emer’s home to complete our Ireland adventure. She was directly off the cliff path that we wanted to hike and had a cute pub only a 5 min walk away. And the breakfast was outstanding. We left early and she packed us the best doggy bag with sandwiches and museli that we devoured in the airport!

  • Big win over a hotel for business trip. Stayed here for four nights while attending an event in the north of Dublin. Beautiful home. Thoroughly welcoming. Truly amazing location for a city business trip: literally sixty seconds on foot to gorgeous coastal walk along south of Howth peninsula. +/- 30 minute drive to airport. Room smaller than hotel room but so many pluses over a hotel.

The DART is a 7-8 minute walk and the bus stop is just across the road. The bedroom is at the back of the house and very quiet. Howth is a bustling sea side village with an abundance of top restaurants, bars and the most breath taking walks.
  • Alan’s place is really well located. It is right beside the harbour and right by the start of Howth’s famous cliff walk. There are some lovely pubs and restaurants close by. You couldn’t get a better spot to visit and experience Howth. It’s also close to the train if you want to travel further afield. The room and bathrooms were spotless and comfortable, they reflect the pictures provided on the website. Overall it was a great choice!

    Eimear2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ground floor period suite, classy and very clean. Great space with large lounge adjoining bedroom with huge comfortable cosy bed. Private bathroom up the stairs recently refurbished, modern and clean. Added bonus was the private ground floor utility room with small fridge, kettle, toaster and crockery, also with downstairs toilet attached which was appreciated! Fantastic location overlooking the harbour within short walk of pubs, restaurants and shops and about 5-10 minutes walk to the DART from there 25 mins to Dublin city centre. Great stay.

    Christine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Host is very timely and kind with responses. Bedroom has super size king bed. Living room with Netflix is a nice option for rainy days or just a quiet evening. My fault, because it states in description, but I missed that the bathroom is about 12 steps up outside of room. Lovely, large bathroom, but if you have any trouble with steps (handicapped) ‘‘tis could be an issue. Wasn’t a problem for us. Very close to Harbour street which also great. Walked to lighthouse and back daily!! We’d return Here.

    Karen2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Howth is a lovely location only 20 minutes from the airport. It is perfect if you want to be away from the Dublin crowds, but still access the city. And only 20 minutes from the airport. The space is a luxurious...probably the nicest bedding we have come across in our travels. One should be aware that due to the age and repurposing of the building, the main floor unit is disjointed, that you need to go through a public area to access your (beautiful) private bathroom and kitchen.

    Shane2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Alan’s place is ideally located. The suite has 2 very large, comfortable rooms. The very large and very nice bathroom is located upstairs. The entry to the house is shared by others guests and your private bathroom is at the top of the stairs of the entry. Alan also provided a private powder room outside our bedroom door which is very convenient but also accessible via the common entrance. Alan also provided coffee, tea and milk in the utility room that housed the powder room. A sink, small refrigerator, dishes and utensils were also provided which were most appreciated. We loved the location, the amenities and our very accommodating host. Thank You Alan.

  • Really nice House with view to the habour and a giant bed.

    Katja2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Alan’s place for the final two days of our tour of Island. The location is absolutely perfect- overlooking the charming harbour and right on the doorstep of everything Howth has to offer. The bed was gigantic and comfortable, and the place had a very historic- old-timely feel. Alan’s doing a wonderful job renovating the place. I'm sure it will be even nicer very soon! Would recommend!

  • The Irish are know for their welcoming nature. I can assure you that none of them compare to the warm welcome my team and I received from Breda. After a short walk through we felt right at home. I'm looking for any excuse to visit Howth again. When I do I know exactly where I'm staying. Thanks again Breda

My place is close to restaurants, enjoys great views. The place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. While the apartment is in the scenic and tranquil village of Howth you can reach the city center in 25 minutes by bus or DART (train), it is also good for people who want to attend sporting events at the AVIVA or RDS. With the rich supply of public transport, there is no need for a car but if you choose to have one there is secure underground parking available.
The building is superbly situated in the centre of the village close to all amenities including great places to walk, a thriving fishing harbour, yacht club, Deer Park public golf club, restaurants, bars and public transport including the DART train service taking you directly into Dublin city, so no need for a car. However, if you decide to have a car there are two underground parking spaces available which at peak season is a great advantage as there are a lot of tourists and limited parking. The apartment is the front ground floor left section of the building overlooking the harbor. While the building is situated centrally it is a quiet, secure & tranquil place where you can enjoy life passing by without any noise or fuss. In the summer & spring time you can enjoy your morning coffee on the back patio which is south facing .The furnishings and decor are a quality that you would not typically find in a holiday rental with artworks and antiques akin to a 5 star hotel. The main living room is a very generous sized room with feature high ceilings and oversized windows and has a separate dinning area. The main bedroom has a queen size bed & an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is a generous sized with a double bed and is next to the main bathroom. There is a separate kitchen that is well equipped with high spec fittings. All bed linens and towels are supplied and are of 5 star quality. The apartment exudes warmth and hospitality of the owners who are on hand in Howth to ensure you have a very enjoyable stay.
Explore the beaches and cliff walks of Howth Peninsula. Although home to many great eateries and pubs of its own, Howth Village is still only 25 minutes from the city centre by bus or train.
  • This is a great apartment in a perfect location! Lots of little things made this an even better stay than I expected. I would definitely stay here again.

    Michael2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hello Ana and Pat...we loved your place. It was clean, spacious, elegant and well located. Also after a long inter continental flight the cozy beds were very appreciated! We would return in a heartbeat. Our only snag was the coffee press and coffee machine. One was broken, the other was complicated. A minor problem compared to the overall excellence of the apartment. Thank you! The Canadians. Lynn, Bob, Bill sand Marcia.

  • Very lovely apartment in Howth. It was so spacious and had everything we needed as a group of 4. It was our last stop on a 2 week vacation and it was so nice to be somewhere so serene and peaceful, yet still very close to the Dublin City Center.

    Tom2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Best location for Howth, especially for those, like us, who don’t have a car. The living room is really elegant and is even better in person, than in the pics.

  • Beautiful apartment on the bustling harbour front street of Howth. The flat was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with all amenities you could think of. Excellent communication from the hosts Anne and Pat.

    Rosie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Anne’s flat in Howth is a spacious and luxurious property with comfortable rooms to relax in. The flat is perfectly situated yet very quiet and private, close to the DART station for exploring Dublin, and the harbor with its piers and restaurants. You can also start the cliff walk from outside the property. Overall, it was an outstanding experience staying at Anne’s place and we would definitely come and stay again. Anne was also very welcoming and provided excellent local insight into restaurants and other attractions.

    Paul2019-06-03T00:00:00Z

  • Alan was a great host and was very accommodating. Great amenities in the apartment, plenty of tea, coffee, milk etc. Packet of biscuits was a lovely surprise :-) Place was stylish, practical and very well equipped. I would certainly recommend it.

  • Alan’s place was a great base for us as we visited Dublin and Howth. Superb location overlooking the harbour.

    Cai2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful apartment building reflecting such a beautiful area. Everything about the place and Alan as a host was just so simple and straightforward. The views from the windows are enough to have you just gazing out for ages. We love cooking in house as well as eating out and this place is just perfect for that. Miele ovens and cooker!! (Oven nerds will know what I'm talking about!!) Just brilliant. What can I say, we'll be back!!

  • The best choice for those who want to stay in Howth. The sea is literally a stone's throw away and going up you go to the top with its breathtaking views. Spotless, quiet and comfortable room. See you soon!

    Francesco2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • STAY STAY STAY! We LOVED our stay at The Georgian Rooms. It was conveniently located next a bus stop and less than a mile from the train stop. We had no issues getting to and from Dublin. The room was amazing, the top floor patio was great, and walking out to see the ocean and hear the seagulls was unbeatable! Staying here gave us a true taste of Ireland and I would recommend it to anyone wanting that experience.

    Mia2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

  • Great experience! The room was cozy and clean, and the location was fantastic.

  • Stay here! The recent renovation mentioned in the website is gorgeous! Stairs, yes, but they are clear about that. What a great location, comfortable bed, and thoughtful amenities there are here. Hilary answered us right away with our questions and the check-in/out instructions were clear. If you are able, do take advantage of the incredible hike on the cliffs. The view will take your breath away. And the food and beer at The Abbey Tavern was delicious! We hope to be back one day and stay at the Georgian Rooms Howth.

  • My best stay while in Ireland! What a beautifully styled boutique hotel. Self check in was a breeze and the contact person/ housekeeper Daniel checked in on me daily to see if I needed anything. They truly thought of everything to make my stay memorable. Location was perfect to explore Howth and I would highly recommend The Georgian Rooms to anyone exploring the area!!

  • Great place. Small but cozy, great for one person.

    Jessica2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Really clean and beautifully appointed. It’s tiny, perfect for one person. Meg was very thorough and clear on the self check in and out instructions. Very quick responses. And it’s in the perfect location, about 5-10m walk from Dart, close to town but far away enough to be nice and quiet. Close to everything, I didn’t have a car but went all over town and the piers and the castle. Close to the cliff walk as well. Can’t tell you thanks enough!

  • Awesome spot!

    Audrey2019-10-04T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed at The Georgian Rooms in Howth during our short visit to Dublin. The room was nice and modern, and had everything that we needed. The check in and out process was also nice and simple, so we didn't have anything extra to worry about. What made our trip even better was the location- with it being right by the sea. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place.

  • Super clean. Brand new remodel. Steps away from the east pier and the harbor area. Self check in with good instruction. Prompt response.

    Robert2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This AirBnB is perfectly located in Howth - an easy walk to all the shops and restaurants, the piers, the trails, and the commuter train into Dublin. It was comfortable, very clean, and well-appointed, and I would happily stay here again. Note that this room is at the front of the house on the ground floor, so there is some street noise, and the front door can be heard opening and closing from inside the room. I didn't have any issues sleeping, but if you're a light sleeper, you might prefer a room towards the back of the house.
