Gemma's eclectic retreat is in a fantastic location! Shops, restaurants and night life are well within walking distance. Make sure you stop by the KY Fudge Co, Lemon's Mill Brewery and reserve breakfast at the Beaumont Inn.

Wonderful host; easy to get in touch with and very helpful. Gemma was great at answering any questions we had, and even recommended a quaint place to eat called The Fudge Company that was right down the road from us. Parking was fine, and the location was excellent for walking to dining/sightseeing nearby. Very pleased with our stay.

I absolutely enjoyed staying here! Lots of room and it felt like staying at grandmas house. I was able to park right at the front door and the street was very quiet, except for a passing train every once in awhile. I actually enjoyed the sound of the train, the whole atmosphere set me back in time. I love the eclectic/ antique decorating style, many fun prints and bright colors made me feel happy. The bathroom was roomy with a tub/shower combo, with some cool pictures hanging on the walls. There is a full kitchen with a stove, microwave and refrigerator. Off the kitchen is the back door where you will find a small patio, if you like to sit outside. Plenty of room for your luggage and bags. There are many old homes within walking distance and I was hoping to take a walk and explore and I ran out of time. The bed and pillow was just right, I slept very well while I was there. I wanted to explore more of this quaint little town but ran out of time. I was able to venture over to Danville and found this awesome BBQ restaurant called Brothers BBQ, omg, it was the best BBQ I have ever Had!!! It is a must on your trip!! There is also a Store that sells fudge in Harrodsburg that I hear is really tasty but I didn't have time to stop in. I am definitely stay again the next time I'm in town! Love this little place and I hope it never changes.

The location and decor are fantastic. If you are a light sleeper, the trains may keep you awake (bring earplugs). Very roomy space and comfortable bed. Bath was stocked with plenty of fresh towels and even a hairdryer. Harrodsburg is a wonderful historic town and we had a very nice evening walk, looking at the beautiful houses and churches. Beaumont Inn is a short drive away and we'll worth a trip for a drink or dinner.

Although I only stayed one night, Gemma's place was a perfect retreat for the evening as I passed through town. This was my first time in Harrodsburg and was thoroughly surprised at how charming the town was. Gemma's is located just off of Main St. where there are a number of locally owned businesses and shops. When I woke up in the morning I walked to the local coffee shop for a nice breakfast and to get some work done using their wifi. I look forward to returning to Harrodsburg soon!

We stayed at the cottage with our daughter who is a junior at Asbury and had a wonderful time. It was very quiet and comfortable with plenty of room for a great value. Anyone who wants to explore Harrodsburg, the Shaker Village, etc. can't go wrong with this cottage.

Glen River Farm is a lovely spot in Harrodsburg, KY, about 45 minutes from Lexington. We were two couples traveling for an event at the KY Horse Park, which was about 1 hour away. We enjoyed sitting out on the picnic table and looking out over the farm in the evening, and had a great time at Brothers BBQ in Danville. The Shaker Village nearby is worth a visit as well.

This place was excellent. Beautiful countryside cottage with lots of room to run around. If we visit this area again, we know where we will be staying.

This is a fairly spacious 2 bedroom farmhouse style place with attention taken to all the details! Ceiling fans and a well stocked kitchen, and just far enough from town to be quiet at night.

This was an amazingly cute he in the country, while we were exploring the central Kentucky Bourbon trail. It was exactly what my girlfriend and I were looking for and was exactly how it appeared. It was 5 minutes from Beaumont Inn and 15 from Shaker Village. We Loved it!!

Two adults and two infants were very comfortable in this cozy cottage! Coleen and Albert were very helpful if we needed anything, even over a holiday. Would love an excuse to come again!

This was a perfect and tranquil spot in the country! Colleen and Albert (and the cats, Bonnie and Clyde) made us very welcome during our 4 night stay. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and the small cottage had everything we needed.

My wife, daughters, and I were in town to visit our son, who's attending college nearby. Colleen & Albert were great! Their cottage was exactly what we needed and their hospitality was amazing. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing environment, then this is the place! All of our needs were met and all of our questions were answered. The kindness shown to my family warms my heart. Colleen and Albert are great people and wonderful hosts!

Laura and David made us feel very welcome. We made friends with her cute cats, Jake the dog and Rosemary the raccoon, too! We were definitely given our space and David made us coffee in the morning. It was different than a B and B, for sure, but an experience nonetheless.

This was our second stay with Laura at this house and it was amazing! Neat historic property with lots of land and Laura is very nice and accommodating. Great place for a peaceful weekend getaway or if you are just passing through for the night.

Laura and David were wonderful hosts and made me feel at-home from the moment I arrived. I really enjoyed meeting them and talking to them. Even the pets made me feel welcome. I was very comfortable in the Purple Room and would have no problem choosing it again. Though all of the other rooms looked just as nice. I only wish I had spent more time at the house so I could have enjoyed the hot tub or a game of billiards. There is so much to enjoy in Harrodsburg and the surrounding area. I couldn't pass up a tour of the Four Roses Distillery. I also enjoyed the Kentucky State Barbecue Festival in nearby Danville.

It was great fun staying in Laura's Purple Room surrounded by art. We took her restauarant suggestion and had a delicious meal and enjoyed exploring the town.

Awesome experience! Anyone staying near Lexington should pick this place for sure, host is great and the house is unlike anything you will ever see as far as beauty and character!

I stayed in the Purple Room and my aunt & uncle stayed in the Wonderland Music room last weekend. We absolutely loved our stay. The bed was so comfy! I loved the shower. The art was absolutely wonderful. The kitchen was stocked with what we needed to cook. The horses absolutely were fabulous. My aunt spent a few hours with her dog on the front porch swing :) Laura is a great host. She was quick to respond to any questions I had. Highly recommended

The Burford Hill house is unique. Each room has a name and a theme. There are guitars, tom-toms, a pool table, pool, hot tub, horses, chickens (fresh eggs) and fresh flowers. We loved it! Laura is a gracious host. We would go back in a heartbeat! Plus there is much to sightsee in this area.

Our stay was so lovely! When we arrived, our host was readily available to help us get in the house and, again available when we had a question later in the evening. They had every amenity we could want, including a pumpkin, bourbon pie waiting for us and a fully stocked kitchen which was so helpful on Thanksgiving weekend. The space was great for our crowd and the bedrooms were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at Laura's historic home was very comfortable and calming. The house was quiet and the views overlooking the barn in the back and land in the front was beautiful. The room was HUGE and had tons of space. The bed was very warm and comfortable (and there were extra blankets readily available in the room). We didn't get the chance to meet Laura, but her son Brian was really kind. Waking up and having farm fresh eggs was also another major bonus! I also brought my dog with me and she was super calm in the house. They were kind enough to keep the other two dogs in another room while we were there as my dog isn't super friendly with other pets. Thank you for that! Laura also gave us a heads up the bathroom across the hall had some issues, but we were readily accommodated with another beautifully restored bathroom.

Ifyou are in the area, do not hesitate stayng here. When you arrive you will understand. A a history buff and lover of nature it just get any better!

The location was perfect; very convenient. The animals were great. Having the pool was a nice addition. Plenty of space for groups of people to talk and hang out in.

The house was amazing. From the moment I walked in, I was amazed and happy I chose that house. You will be too. So well decorated, I couldn't decorate a house that well in a million years. Laura's art is amazing and I'm told that world-famous musicians and artists stay there. My best experience as a guest on AirBnB yet.

A place so nice we had to stay twice! Laura and her place were above and beyond what we imagined! The house is a huge, 200 year old farm house with tall ceilings and is just bursting with gorgeous artwork and decoration! Laura met us at the house to show us around and told us we would be the only people staying in there that night so we could pick from any of the beautiful rooms we wanted! After being in the house for an hour we immediately decided we had to stay another night! We played pool and darts, paid visit to the horse and pony in the barn on the property, picked fresh strawberries from the garden, had a bonfire and were visited by the friendliest cat and enjoyed some country cooking from a restaurant in town that Laura recommended. We felt like we were staying in our own home, only much more beautiful! Wanderland is magical, absolutely stay here if you have the chance!

First let me say I'm a city girl. My daughter is an equestrian. She wanted to go to the Kentucky horse Park for spring break. It was a dream of hers. A friend of mine suggested Airbnb I was hesitant. But then I found Alona's place. One of my daughters favorite breeds is the Freesian, Alona has six of them. I also wanted to take my daughter for a lesson at a jumping barn, Alona knew where to go. Getting to Alona's place from Lexington takes about an hour. I am not one for driving, but it was worth it. Her property is magical. My daughter woke up and walked right out the back door and walked about ten paces and wrapped her arms around a horse both mornings. She was outside with a friend who came with us the whole day, all day, both days we were there. The view is breathtaking. This city girl has a special place in her heart now for Alona's place. We made some awesome memories, I'm grateful to Alona for providing these unique accomadations. We will visit again!

Incredible place. The dogs and the horses are wonderful. Hope to visit again some day. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

The animals here are a pure delight. The dogs are the most friendly creatures I've ever encountered with the exception of her horses. Also, the place was spotless and roomy. Very fun place to stay if you find yourself south of Louisville

The apartment is attached to a barn where there are horses, so naturally there were a few bugs. I live in the country, so it did not bother me, but we did see a roach, a few moths and flies, and two dead wasps in the bedroom. The barn is set back in about 3/4 of a mile off a gravel driveway. Loved the setting, the beautiful Kentucky rolling hills, and waking up to at least 10 beautiful horses at the fence. We loved meeting Bandit and Oliver, two of the farm dogs. Was only 15 minutes from downtown Harrodsburg. Magazines were available in the living room, coffee, sugar, and half and half in the refrigerator. Very charming place! If you're looking for a place to disconnect from the busy world, this is it! We enjoyed petting the horses and viewing the scenery. We will be back!

The Friesian Horse Farm was everything we hoped it would be and more! The apartment was clean and quiet, just as pictured. We actually ended up changing our plans slightly because it was such a good, relaxing break to wake up in the morning, watch the sunrise and pet the horses. We ended up just being lazy until nearly noon everyday. It was an incredible way to get away from the rest of the world. Alona was easy to communicate with and left us eggs, crossaints and orange juice to enjoy while we sere there. If I had to say something negative, it would be that it was a little hard to find initially. Trust your GPS and read the numbers on the mailboxes carefully. Then trust that your on the right road/driveway as you go back to the apartment. It sits 3/4 mile or a mile off the road. You will question yourself about being in the right place. Have faith and follow the road. You will get there and it will be worth it.

We had a wonderful stay at the farm! Although we missed the turn to the driveway initially, it was well worth turning around for! The accommodations were exactly as described. We awoke to two beautiful sunrises over the horse-filled pasture, enjoyed the orange juice and breakfast treats, played with Alona's dogs. We even got to meet her on Sunday morning as we departed. We will definitely return!

We loved staying at the Bowman Bungalow. We have 4 kids and there was plenty of room. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and beyond comfortable. I love to cook and used the kitchen and all the cookware multiple times a day. It is also in a convenient location by the college and downtown, and not far from a grocery. We bought a dvd player so that we could watch movies together. We can't wait to stay again!

I used the Bowman Bungalow to house a doctor who was working at the local hospital. Cindi was so amazing to work with! I was searching desperately to find a place last minute for this doctor and Cindi totally saved the day. Hugh was a great host and made me feel very confident and comfortable with the whole situation.The location was awesome on the lake- we did not get much time to enjoy it b/c we were there for a wedding, but Hugh had made arrangements for a boat to be delivered to the dock if we so chose. Would love to stay there again if we ever back int he area!
