Thanks for being such a great host Nicole! Your place was adorable and perfect for couple or family with small children! It was a perfect location for where my husband and I wanted to go! We were able to travel to Gettysburg (25 minutes away), Hershey (1 hour away), and Lancaster - Amish Country (1 hour away). It was a perfect location! Nicole, you were also very helpful and responded to any messages I sent in a timely manner. The neighborhood was very safe and super cute! There are neighbors, but they keep to themselves. Thank you so much for everything! My husband and I will definitely be staying here again if we are ever in the area.

If you are looking for a warm, inviting family friendly house close to Hanover, then this is your house. My husband and I have three young children and really needed a quiet space close to our local family, but not with our family. This house was amazingly close, very clean, VERY family friendly, accommodating with children gear and all the amenities within the house. My kids LOVED the playground out back and my husband and I enjoyed our nights in the sunroom. The bunk beds are very nice, sturdy and definitely turned my 4year old into a bunk bed lover. Overall, my favorite part of the house was all of the windows. I love natural light and there is plenty, but with nice curtains for nighttime privacy. I can't say enough good things about the house and host. We hope to make this our home away from home during our visits up. Wonderful first house experience for AirB&B newby.

Incredible stay. The house was perfect for my fiancee and our kids stay. Quiet neighborhood, play area out back for kids, and also toys. Ideal for travel with young kids. Host was very responsive to all of our questions and made every effort to ensure we had a great stay. Would love to stay again when we come back in town.

Great place to stay off the beaten path but convenient to Hanover and Gettysburg PA and Westminster MD region. Out in the county surrounded by Hanover Shoe Farms, cornfields, and trees, but easy access off main highway 194. Very quiet except a small group of geese occasionally mistaking my car for another animal of maybe food. The owners/full time residents are hospitable and are professional chefs so taste and presentation of dinner and weekend breakfast is excellent. Reasonable options for breakfast on weekdays.

Nice place away from town. Horses everywhere (Hanover Shoe Farms), even horses on property to greet you. You will be staying in a well maintained 1800s farm house, not far from Gettysburg. I enjoyed my time at the farm and will hopefully be coming back sometime!

Our stay at Lou her place was lovely! The house is beautiful and relaxing. I recommand the optionel diner. We loved it. the breakfast ( self service) was lovely too.We felt really welcome And definetly want to stay here again.

Lynette and Bill have a beautiful house and garden that they have given much thought and care. We were welcomed into their home and made to feel almost like family. In the morning we had a great chat over coffee with them. If you are going through the York, PA area, don't miss a night at their house.

WoW!!! This is a hidden treasure in the centrally located town of Spring Grove, PA. Located near Hanover, York and Gettysburg, PA. The backyard garden is a magical oasis. Mary and I spent our entire evening sitting in the garden talking. It was easy to relax and feel like we were the only ones within miles, even though there were neighbors on every side. William and Lynette were very gracious hosts and made us feel (EMAIL HIDDEN)munication between William and I was seamless. I love being able to do business with "real" people. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to south central PA. It's central location makes it easy to take day trips.

The Bakers were fabulous hosts! Their home is beautiful, and I had a very comfortable stay. Would HIGHLY recommend them, and I plan on staying here again!

6 adults decided to stay with Sally and Jack at Solace so we could all be together over the weekend, instead of separate hotel rooms. Located a few miles off the Baltimore Pike it was actually a much easier commute to Gettysburg than anticipated. Approx. 35 minute drive. The Solace is beautiful and comfortable, with four large bedrooms with baths, and a bright sunroom off the kitchen. Sally served two great breakfasts and the hospitality and cleanliness was first rate. We enjoyed our mornings with Willie the dog and all the friendly goats and Eve the cow.

The Solace B&B was a great place to stay! I was visiting McDaniel College with a friend and we had a great nights sleep with a wonderful breakfast! Best french toast I've ever had! The host was lovely to talk to and very accommodating.

Sally is an amazing host. The White Rose Farm is a working 132 acre biodynamic farm in rural Maryland. The house is very spacious, easily accommodating seven of us. Plenty of space, two kitchens, a comfortable sun porch, and a meditation room. Sally set us up with fresh baked bread and her homemade preserves. We also received a tour of the farm. Sally provided us with a great understanding of how a biodynamic farm works. When I come back to Western Maryland I would stay with Sally again.

The house is pretty original built in the 60's. It is a lovely spacious layout with loads of natural light. Heating works well making it cozy in the evenings. The silence is wonderful. Star gazing at night was awesome. The house would easily fit two families looking for a farm retreat style stay. No tv, radio or wifi. Come prepared with books, games & puzzles. It was a nice easy drive to local grocery store & only 15-20 mins into Gettysburg. Sally was a great host meeting us and giving us tips on the area and going over house rules. Certainly beats faceless hotel rooms.

Sally is a wonderful hostess. Her farm is located 15 minutes south of Gettysburg, just across the Maryland border. The house we stayed in was rustic and charming. It consists of two floors, with the fireplace and a couple of bedrooms occupying the bottom floor. The refrigerator housed fresh baked bread and preserves that Sally baked herself. Sally was a true delight and the home is honest to the surroundings.

Sally's place was everything I had hoped for in terms of a private, secluded retreat to welcome in the New Year with a few friends. She met me for check in and did a brief orientation to the property. I really appreciated the many personal touches at the house such as homebaked bread (delicious!) and a fully prepared fire in the fireplace (just add a match!). The house is comfortable and welcoming, and we really enjoyed cooking dinner together in the old-fashioned but fully serviceable kitchen (lots of pots, pans, silverware, played, mugs, cups, and linens provided). The property is really beautiful, with rolling hills, a lake, and a small fire pit outside. I would love to return in warmer weather so I could really enjoy all the natural offerings. Such a great stay!

Sally's place is enchanting. Secluded, spacious farmhouse on Sally's working farm. Peaceful. The only sounds are those of farm animals and nature. Not another structure is visible, not even the house Sally lives in (about a country mike away). The house is comfortably furnished, spotlessly clean, and if you don't need a TV or Wi-fi (we didn't), it has everything one would need for a few nights away from it all. Beautiful outdoor stone-ringed fire pit. Working indoor fireplace. Stars at night. If you're into the Civil War, it's a quick, scenic 15-minute drive from Gettysburg. Sally is a warm, delightful person, very friendly, helpful, easy to communicate with, and non-intrusive. I was traveling with my son and his girlfriend. If Sally will have us, we'll each be back.

Lovely getaway for family and friends and good distance for exploring Gettysburg. Quiet getaway from the city. Rustic experience insofaras no dishwasher, microwave, TV or wifi.

John & Jen are lovely and very quick to respond to any communications. The beautifully decorated high standard guest house is better than most hotels. The place is very well equipped with all modern convenience. There are ample crockery and cutlery for proper self-catering holiday (all goes in the dishwasher!). After a day out, sitting on the verandah/ porch watching the birds was peaceful and relaxing. We were very comfortable here in this serene location yet minutes away from shops and restaurants. Just over half an hour away from the famous Gettysburg battlefields and Eisenhower’s house. We enjoyed exploring the Dutch county and Amish area. We did a small part of the Appalachian Trail. There is even a short woodland trail next to the house! This is a rare gem, as AirBnB quite often says!

Fantastic communication and such a wonderful getaway retreat. Lots of space and the tire swing was so much fun! Definitely recommend checking it out.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here. The house is very nice and has a great view of surrounding farm land. It was very clean, and John and Jen put a lot of thought into making sure anything we could want/need we had (like extra blankets, space heater, etc). They were great hosts and offered us privacy while giving us the chance to reach out if we had any questions. We definitely would like to stay here in the future if we are ever back in York.

Another fantastic stay at the "retreat". We were lucky enough to observe a fox family (mom, dad, three young kits) from the bedroom window. The binoculars helped see them close-up. Wonderful setting, relaxing, and very easy w/Jon & Jen. Can't wait for our return trip!

The gentleman's house was fantastic. The house is much larger than we expected. There's four bunk beds, the master bed and a small bed downstairs as well. Everything in the house was immaculate. John and Jen greeted us when we arrived and were very hospitable. They provided suggestions and had plenty of resources within the home. Check in and out was a breeze. The property was beautiful and quiet. It was very close to York and approximately 70 minutes to Baltimore. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area. I also liked that part of the money spent on the house was donated to charity.

The place is even better than the pictures! It's so spacious and the views from the room are breathtaking. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to meet John and Jen but they made checking in and out very simple. We are looking forward to our next stay!

The accommodations were just as described, and yet even better than that in person. The Guest House felt like an oasis, and this was felt even with an evening, after dark arrival. Leaving in the morning, I could see how wonderful it would be to be able to spend time here to enjoy the peacefulness and scenery. Definitely a return trip if the opportunity arises. Wonderful home with historic value in the heart of Gettysburg. We liked it very much and our hosts Eileen and Jay were the best. Breakfast was first class and better then a restaurant. The property sits on acres of land with delightful trails to take a shirt morning stroll before hitting the battle fields. Highly recommend this stay. We felt lucky to be there.

Such a beautiful setting with a wonderful history. All of the Hoovers were warm and welcoming, treating us as if we were long-long friends. The breakfasts were perfect: not huge, as in some places we've stayed, but just the right, delicious amount to start our day. We would definitely come back!

Sundeep was an amazing host. The place was just as described. He event left us some snacks and water in the room for us. There is a designated parking spot for us to use anytime through out the day. The apartment was very welcoming and clean. Would love to use the space again when I'm in the area.

This was our second Airbnb rental, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The room and furnishings were immaculate. The house is only 10 min from Gettysburg College. Our host Karen was fabulous, and went out of her way to ensure we had a memorable stay. The breakfast was phenomenal, fresh fruit, quiche, juice, coffee, the works, served at precisely the time in the morning that we requested. And I don't want to forget to mention the delicious brownies and lemonade. I can highly recommend Karens home whenever you need to visit Gettysburg.

Our stay here was clean, cool, and quiet. Anything we could possibly need was available. Our host Karen was efficient, kind, caring, and an excellent breakfast chef as well (ask for her quiche!). The house was close enough to the historical battlefields so that it didn't feel like a long commute, but far enough away that you don't have to deal with all the tourist traffic. The grounds were stunning, and as an ex-country boy myself, it felt good to breathe fresh air, and to be able to take a walk around the fields. We'll certainly try and stay here again whenever we visit Gettysburg.

Our stay at Charming Country Porch was excellent. The location is absolutely beautiful with views of the green hillsides and many quaint areas On the property to sit and enjoy the views. Our host enhanced our visit by providing comfortable sleeping arrangements, delicious breakfasts, and fun suggestions on places to see. My husband and I enjoyed a well appointed room with a queen size bed and plenty of storage space for our short trip to Gettysburg. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the views from our window were welcoming . The outdoors blossomed with color from the well maintained flowerbeds. Cold bottled water was available to us 24 hrs a day and was replenished as needed. It was wonderful to grab a couple of bottles on our way out the door to tour the battlefields in the hot sun! Our host was very pleasant with much attention to detail during our stay. She always made sure our surroundings were comfortable and that we did not lack anything we needed. The dog on the property was so sweet and very well behaved. A trip to Houser Winery, at the suggestion of our host, allowed us to relax with locals, listen to good music, and enjoy the vistas from this hilltop establishment. My husband and I felt at home at The Country Porch. Our host made us feel very welcome and we will be happy to stay here again in the future.

This is a wonderful, scenic country home only 5 minutes from downtown Gettysburg. The hosts are very welcoming, and every detail is attended to. There is a queen bedroom and a bedroom with a twin/trundle, so it would be a perfect place for a small family to stay if you need two rooms. Breakfast was amazing as well! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will visit again when in the area!!

Our stay in the charming country room was extremely comfortable! Karen was an excellent host from the time arrived through the time we left. We arrived to a very clean and spacious room that was perfect for two. Plenty of room for our belongings and to relax. Karen did and excellent job providing a binder with local information, plenty of water/pop if we needed and bathroom essentials. We felt right at home and she made it clear that we could ask her for something if we forgot it. Karen did a great job of helping us plan some extra adventures into our trip to Gettysburg and that helped make the trip even more special! Breakfast both days was AMAZING! The location was perfect as well. Short drive to the center of town and battlefields. I would definitely recommend my friends/family to stay with Karen and her family during their trip to Gettysburg!

My boyfriend and I live in DC and wanted to get away from the tourists for 4th of July weekend. We decided to try Airbnb since hotels were fairly expensive by the time we decided to visit the area. We chose Karin's home originally for the price and proximity to the city center. Although a car is definitely required to get to the main downtown area, it is probably less than 2 miles away from the town center/battlefield which made it easy to visit the area. The house itself had a lot of the Gettysburg charm that you would expect in a historical area. The bedroom was located on the second floor and we were allowed to use either the upstairs or downstairs bathroom. Karin was great as well and had the room ready for our arrival with fresh cookies and flowers in our room. She was interesting to speak with and was knowledgeable of both Gettysburg history and the area in general. Breakfast consisted of a typical continental style breakfast with coffee, toast, yogurt and fruit. Be aware that she does not have Wi-Fi in her home, but does have Netflix on her TV if you want to watch a movie in the evening. Overall an enjoyable experience that I would recommend for others looking for a nice, quiet weekend getaway.

Karin was very kind and willing to be as helpful as possible. I was there for work so I was very low maintenance but she was very communicative, caring and welcoming. Shower upstairs didn't work well but she volunteered the downstairs shower and she had very nice room accommodations and suggested or asked what I would like for breakfast :). Her pup is also super sweet and I was happy to meet her! I can't wait to come back for pleasure and not work and stay with Karin again. You will also love her area and scenery- and can't beat distance to the main streets of Gettysburg!

We enjoyed a great getaway!

My family and I had a wonderful stay the The Chicken Coop! Chicken-themed items were everywhere, from pictures to the breakfast plates. The house had everything we needed for the night: bathrobes, tea and coffee, fresh fruit, plates and wine glasses. There was space in the house for everyone to do something different, like playing tic-tac-toe on the chalkboard table, napping in a hammock, or reading on the porch. The sound of the creek at night was soothing and perfect to fall asleep to. Helen and David were gracious and helpful. The eggs and homemade muffins were delicious. Next time I'll have to bring bikes to take on the rail trail!

What an amazing experience! Helen and David were so welcoming and their property is an amazing retreat away from life in the fast lane. Just a short drivefrom Baltimore, but, a world away! Thank you for the most amazing blueberry muffins ever and we will be back again!

I couldn't have been any happier with our home away from home! Helen and David were the perfect hosts! They were super helpful and accommodating. Half of our party was flying in, and the other driving. They made themselves available for our convienance. Helen also gave us handmade washcloths to take with us! Mine is on my sink at home right now! And she made us delicious homemade, still warm blueberry muffins for breakfast! What a treat! Upon arrival the house was spotless! Carefully decorated not overdone. Just perfect! We have a 14 month old and the house was made for her! There's a door to the upstairs that we kept closed. So she was nice and contained in the living room. They even supplied us with a Pack and Play! It was so nice being able to put her to bed upstairs and enjoy an evening together downstairs. The bathroom upstairs has a claw foot tub that our daughter loved! She wanted a bath every night! There are two porches on the outside of the house. The one is open and the other enclosed. Our daughter loved running around and playing with the chalk table out there. I wish we had more time to relax outside. I'm looking forward to our next stay there. It was wonderful! And I miss seeing Fudge, the free range goat in the mornings!

We were warmly greeted at the door of the house. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us to enjoy the evening and fresh eggs and muffins for us to enjoy the morning. The house was a perfect match for what we were looking for, a quiet, peaceful place surrounded by nature to spend some time.

The Chicken Coop is a warm, inviting farm house secluded on a quiet lane. We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our 3 day visit to southern PA. We were in town for a graduation party nearby. What a gem we found! I can't imagine how different our experience would have been had we stayed in a hotel. You really do feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere but the highway is only 10 min away. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The hosts went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Fresh, warm muffins and fruit in the morning. Comfortable beds, soft robes, and many other nice touches. I can't say enough nice things about the them! The home is exactly as described (better even!). We would recommend this home to anyone who likes a quiet peaceful country setting.

The hosts are wonderful. They were quick to answer us, flexible about our needs, and made us feel right at home. We were treated to fresh baked muffins each morning alongside some fresh eggs from their chicken coop. We particularly enjoyed nighttime sits on the outdoor porch which made us feel as though we were in a tree house. The long soak in the clawfoot tub was also a highlight.

Beautiful retreat loaded with charm and character. Close to Gettysburg yet you feel like you are miles away with the dark starry sky and farmlands to gaze at. Very clean and well-stocked with toiletries and food.

Tracy directed us to the barn and explained the workings of everything. This is an amazing place.We loved our stay. A fully stocked kitchen, an incredible library, beautiful views, a running stream and two adorable miniature donkeys constantly being 'herded' by a very attentive trained dog! The barn is comfortable and well stocked with everything. We plan to go back as soon as we can

The Red Barn is a fantastic place to stay if you want to be a little off the beaten path. My boyfriend and I stayed here during our visit to Gettysburg and loved it. Tracy was very communicative and even provided us with some cycling gear when we decided to take the bike tour of the battlefield (highly recommend). The accommodations are very spacious and comfortable and we had absolutely everything we needed.

We want to thank Tracy & the Lea family for a fantastic experience. The barn was beautiful & well appointed. The location was perfect for us in that it was a short ride to Gettysburg, & away from the tourist busyness. If you are visiting this area, I couldn't recommend a better place to stay for peaceful relaxation.
