Shangrila has gotten even better. My son, Gino, & his sweet little dog, Frida, are cohosting with me. Gino is very knowledgable about the many hiking trails in the area. The delightful Occidental Bohemian Farmers Market runs Fri. evenings from the end of June till the end of Oct. If you long to get your hands dirty, but don't have a garden, we'll share ours. There's always something to do!
Your spacious room overlooks a redwood forest with a meadow & wooded hills beyond. You may think you want to visit Sonoma County vineyards, beaches, or the Russian River, but once you're here, you may not want to leave. The room is quiet. You have your own bathroom called "The Mexi" because of Mexican tiles & mementos of travels in that country. There is safe, off street parking. You are within walking distance of the picturesque village of Occidental where there are good restaurants, gift shops, & tennis courts. People also love to ride bicycles around here even tho the roads are narrow, curvy, & steep. We are early risers & will have coffee ready by 7:00 with a gourmet continental breakfast consisting of home pressed organic apple juice, homegrown organic seasonal fruits, homemade jam & a special sweet. We are well situated as a stopover, but we could also be a destination. We have lawn Bocce ball & horse shoes. For rest after those exertions, there are hammocks in the redwoods. There is such good bird watching here that the local Audubon stops here during their Xmas bird count. When the weather isn't conducive to outside time, there is a fireplace in the living room. We love to share this beautiful place. Come on over!
Shangrila is in a quiet, pretty neighborhood in Occidental.
  • Mary has a lovely place nestled in the redwoods at the end of a quiet road. The host was warm and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Mary's house is in a great location to see the Redwoods & also the coast. The bedroom & bathroom were clean & very comfortable, Mary, Gino & Freida were very welcoming, we also had time to sit out the back amongst the redwoods around their home. The beds were very comfortable, towels left to use & a kettle & mugs for tea...which is a great touch for the British like us that take teabags everywhere we go!! Occidental is a 5 minute drive & a lovely little town with some shops & restaurants for brunch/lunch (we ate in Howards) or dinner (Union Hotel Restaurant & Barley & Hops). The Redwoods in Armstrong Park are amazing & if you are fit enough take a hike on one of the Ridge paths, ensure you have a couple of bottles of water each, good shoes & walking poles if needed as it can get steep...but the views at the top are great.

  • My sister and I had a wonderful stay at Mary's. Mary and her son Gino (and his dog Frida) are wonderful hosts, super accommodating and personable. She made coffee cake for breakfast and there is always fresh fruit available. They told us about the local farmers market in Occidental and the Grove of Old Trees (a must-do easy walk). Her home is lovely -- I'd say a work of art -- in the most gorgeous setting in the redwoods. Every room has skylights to enjoy the towering redwoods. Idyllic. A wedding brought us to the area for the weekend, but if time permitted, I could have spent the days in a hammock under the trees and playing with Frida. I'm sorry we had to bug out so early Sunday morning for our long drive back to LA and miss saying goodbye. I love that Mary calls it "Shangrila," because it is!

  • Mary is an excellent host. Enjoyed our time there.

  • A lovely getaway from the normal hustle and bustle. Love the trees and atmosphere!

    Jen2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was helpful, kind, generous and well connected in her community. Not to mention her home is beautiful, well kept and has an organic, wholesome feel. Mary made us feel welcome in her home and we are so happy we stumbled upon Shangrila! Would stay there again.

  • This is a beautiful little spot in the mountains. Quiet, peaceful with a wonderful deck to enjoy the scenery and relax. Mary is a wonderful hostess.

If you need to isolate come cocoon yourselves at our little farm away from people! Fresh air, plants, stars, silence. Our cottage is fully sterilized. Get a safe change of scenery! Stay in your own private wine country cottage with kitchenette, bathroom and enclosed yard and garden on a small, family farm in a rural neighborhood of Sebastopol. This cottage has been featured in various tv shows including "Tiny House Nation" and "Tiny House Hunters".
Your own wine country cottage with its own bath and kitchen located on a small farm. The cottage is private, but we are available to answer any questions. The cottage has it's own yard and garden. The parking is right outside the cottage with no trails or steps to get to it. The cottage overlooks the farm and a eucalyptus grove. You may see our mini-horse "Comanche", chickens, a sheep or two meander by on the other side of the fence. The cottage is fully insulated for even temperature. It is bright, private, modern rustic with open ceilings and a Vermont Castings vented gas fireplace. A flick of the switch and "voila" a beautiful, warm fire in the hearth. The bathroom has a glass shower, no tub. There is a queen-sized bed with the most comfortable mattress imaginable. There is also full-size organic wool and cotton coil futon sofa that sleeps two. We provide only the highest quality cotton towels and bedding. The guests really appreciate it. And, you can cook there. We have 2 burner stove and small convection oven, lots of pots, pans, etc. We'd be happy to share our farm fresh eggs with you. They're so much better than store bought! The guests have exclusive use of a private yard, with seating. There is a small garden attached where they can help themselves to strawberries, greens for a salad or whatever else may be in season. While we have dogs, cats and farm animals on the property no animals are allowed in the cottage. Guests may not bring pets either. This ensures the cottage stays clean and allergen-free. We interact with guests as much as necessary for the guests. We assume people like their privacy, but we also love to meet people and show them around the farm if interested. We tend to let the guests determine how much interaction they want with us. We know the area well and are available to answer any questions. We also love to share our farm fresh goodies, like fresh eggs, veggies or fruit from our trees. Our farm is located in the Twin Hills area of Sebastopol. This desirable area is known for its rolling hills, apple orchards, Christmas Tree Farms, and vineyards. There are many beautiful walks to take right out the door. While you may feel far away from it all, downtown is less than a ten minute drive, and door to door we are twenty minutes to the beaches of Bodega Bay taking beautiful back roads right from our neighborhood. There are three main wine tasting routes nearby. For chardonnays and pinot noirs you can stay right in our appellation, the Russian River Valley, and Olivet Road to River Rd. Healdsburg is Dry Creek and Alexander Valley for merlots, zinfandels and cabernet sauvignon. All of these and more are nearby. Right in Sebastopol there is Iron Horse Vineyards, Lynmar, Balletto, Russian River Vineyards, Dutton Family Wines and many more. You will need a car to get around as there is no public transportation in our rural neighborhood. There is such a variety of things to do in our area. Sebastopol is famous for its award winning wineries, restaurants and antique shops. It also has an artsy bohemian feel, and many are dedicated to the slow food movement. Neighbors regularly trade their bounties with each other, such as milk, honey, eggs and veggies. There is also the beaches and cliffs of Bodega Bay (we provide beach chairs, towels, cooler, etc. upon request), and great swimming and picnicking at the Russian River. You can hike through beautiful redwoods at Armstrong Woods. And of course visit countless wineries and gourmet restaurants. We can fill you in on our favorite spots.

  • Mary's cottage is idyllic. My partner and I came up for a quiet romantic getaway from our home in the bay. The cottage is perfect sized for 2. We enjoyed lazy afternoons between outings playing board games at the table and watching the stars at night on the swing set. The farm animals nearby were utterly charming and never woke us and check-in and out we're seemless. Mary's recommendations were comprehensive. This is a great little place if you want to explore Sebastopol and the Sonoma coast. Would love to stay again!

  • Mary & Bruce had been wonderful & gracious hosts on their beautiful property. They even provided us with farm fresh eggs that tasted absolutely delicious. Would definitely stay again.

  • Perfect little cottage for our weekend in Sebastopol.

    Emily2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my relaxing stay at Mary’s cottage. The space was quiet and squeaky clean. The bed; sheets, and comforter were so soft and comfortable, it was a chilly day but the gas fireplace kept it plenty warm. The cottage is beautifully decorated throughout. We especially liked the tall peaked ceiling with barn lantern.

  • Perfect in every way! Cozy comfortable cottage in an ideal location. So clean and welcoming. Country living at its finest! We are already planning to return!

  • Mary’s place was amazing!

    Garrett2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely perfect and great for a couple looking to enjoy some peace and quiet. It’s just a short drive to the town for food or shopping, and close to lots of vineyards too. Mary provided tons of recommendations, including hiking Bodega Head and her favorite wineries. Wished we could have stayed longer and we will definitely book again if we travel that way in the future!

A rustic, cozy cottage nestled in the majestic redwoods of Sonoma county makes the perfect weekend getaway or month retreat. Relax in 2 acres of landscaped garden or drive to convenient restaurants, the ocean, or San Francisco.
This is perfect for the person/persons who love nature. It is a cozy converted chicken coop with an added deck and outdoor shower. The fridge, microwave and hot plate make it easy to stay in although the adorable town of Occidental with its delicious restaurants are fun.
This is a no through road so it is very quiet. And even though the houses are far apart, the neighbors are close and watch out for each other. There is a beautiful walking path available to the neighborhood.
  • We had a great time at this beautiful bnb! Pictures dont do it justice. We felt like we had an entire redwood forest to ourselves. Josephine was a wonderful host too! Highly recommended

    Wes2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • There was a fat cat named Carl. He is the bestest boy. We let him in the cabin with us at night and he cuddled and purred with happiness. Best cabin greeter there ever was. Ziggy (the hosts dog) was also a great greeter at the fence gate when we arrived.

    Siarra2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the relaxing and quiet atmosphere at Jo's cabin. The hot tub was a nice touch that we definitely took advantage of. If you are looking for a get away from the busy every day life in the city this is the place to go!

    Kelsey2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stepping onto Josephines property you can immediately feel how special it is. She greeted us with warmth and gave us a tour and history of the property. She has everything you need to be comfortable for your stay. The sauna and hot tub are such a sweet treat, especially in the morning as the sun comes up. The property is large with plenty of well kept trails and places to relax, so be sure to explore. The property is also close to great beaches, highly recommend. Another added bonus is that you are allowed to bring your dog! Our dog loved her property even more than us - she woke up early explored every inch possible & loved Josephine’s pup, Ziggy. Very thankful that Josephine has opened up her space to guests. If you are looking for a relaxing time in the woods, this is it.

    Ryan2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This sweet, cozy place is a gem. Tucked away into the most peaceful property. Josephine is a remarkable host. If you have the chance to stay here, take it!

    Jeremy2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was definitely beautiful. She has so much land to explore and discover. Everything was very clean for mostly being outside, and inside was very homey and warm. The compost toilet was easy to use. The sauna was definitely awesome to use. The hot tub was nice, even being attached to Josephine’s deck instead of the one you’re staying at, but was definitely a treat to be in. Peaceful and very relaxing!

    Sophia2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as described. Nestled in the middle of the tall redwood, you truly could unwind. I'd label this has glamping with more glamour than camping. The sauna/shower/hottub combination was better than any hotel could offer. The location was remote and quiet surrounded by beautiful views, there was a fireplace to keep you warm and it was accompanied by a compost toilet (true camping style ). We weren't too familiar with using the fireplace or the compost toilet but josephine stopped by and gave us all the information we needed! Check in check out was smooth. Highly recommend!

    Ruchira2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had SUCH a wonderful time here. We stayed for 2 nights, mid-Jan. There's an electric heater and wood-burning stove in the room, so we were nice n toasty. Shower, stove, microwave, toilet, dining table are all in a covered deck just outside the room, so plan accordingly -- it's definitely a glamping experience (with a TV and nice selection of DVDs). Everything was super clean. We hiked during the day, soaked in the hot tub after, and then explored the food/bar scene in Occidental at night (cabin is 10 min drive from the downtown). Will help to know that cell service is extremely spotty out there, so print directions to the place before you set out. We hope to come back in the summer!

Nestled in a redwood forest, a private entrance room with a queen bed, private bath & kitchenette, is the perfect retreat for Sonoma Coast & wine country access, biking & hiking. Limited cell phone service area, only Verizon works here. Very REMOTE. A little rustic, especially the path to the room. TOT#3345N, Permit#:THR18-0032
Nestled in a redwood forest, this private entrance room has a queen bed, full bath and kitchenette. It is the perfect retreat for Sonoma coast and wine country access and Occidental biking and hiking. The room has easy access to outside hot tub, deck, and creek. The private entrance room is accessed via wood path and a few stairs. The room has no access to the main house, and is located on the ground floor, as the house is build into a hill. In the room, there is a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet, and a kitchenette with sink, hot plate, electric kettle, toaster oven and refrigerator. There is also a little seating area with two chairs and a table. Free wi-fi and no television or cell service. Easy access parking. Half city dwellers/half Sonoma County native, we love raising our child here as well as tending to our garden. We live on the property. You have your own separate parking and private entrance access, as well as private outdoor space. Things are pretty quiet here. Birds, foxes, rabbits, our medium-sized dog and large cat and our 11 year old also share the property. We don't have any visible neighbors, and are surrounded by trees. Our driveway is 1/3 of a mile long, and we often take walks up it. We are close to Occidental (10 min), which has a few restaurants, two markets and a couple of shops. We are also close to Sebastopol and Sonoma County wine growers and wineries (18 min). Also nearby are Bodega (8 min) and Bodega Bay (18 min). Bodega is the town where The Birds was filmed, a great coffee shop and the local tavern, The Casino (not really a casino, just a bar that serves good food). And Bodega Bay has great whale watching, beaches, and hiking. Oh yeah, and we are about 25 min from Hog Island Oyster Co in Tomales/Marshall. We love to buy a bag of Oysters and shuck 'em on our deck. On the weekends, the road we live on is filled with road bikers. They've found the little-trafficked roads with hills and beautiful scenery to be an interesting place to ride. We provide bathrobes that guests can use to access the hot tub. The Hot Tub is filled with rich mineral water from our well that has a lot of iron and copper in it, which can sometimes make the water have an orange/yellow tint. We do chlorinate it, but the minerals have dyed the tub so the water does not appear as crystal blue water.
Our neighborhood is quiet and our neighbors remote. We share a driveway with one neighbor but we have seen them like 10 times over the last 7 years.
  • Our stay at the redwood retreat was fantastic. We only stayed for one night but got to enjoy the peaceful quiet of the redwoods while sitting in the hot tub. A bonus, the hot tub is only steps away from the front door of the room. Alissa was so friendly and we even got some homemade granola which was absolutely delicious. Provided was a packet of procedures and local tips. On recommendation from Alissa we ate at a local Bodega spot called The Casino. What an unexpected gem. From the road it looks like a dive bar bar but the food was amazing!!!! GPS can get tricky in the area but Alissa provided really easy directions that got us straight to the property with no issues at all. One hundred percent would stay again!

    Nelson2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Alissa, and Jeff's place is absolutely amazing. It's really cute, simple and has everything you need for a lovely time. I really wish we stayed longer! It's located in the quiet woods so we slept sooo well - didn't wake up until noon! The private hot-tub was just fantastic to watch the stars and the trees in the dark night - it was just magical. Alissa and Jeff had also great local tips like getting oysters at Hog Island on our way there and a great lunch place in Sebastopol on our way out - really appreciated! I hope to go back soon, thank you again!

    Zoe2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect little getaway for me. The space is private, stylish, and has many thoughtful touches that made my stay there comfortable and relaxing. The hot tub was wonderful and is just outside the door of the space. Highly recommended.

    David2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nestled in the woods, off the beaten path, you’ll find a tranquil stay at Alissa and Jeff’s place. The privacy of the deck outside the room door and the few steps down to the hot tub were greatly appreciated. Will come back again and again!

    Michael2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place was simple and sweet. My boyfriend and I went for our one year anniversary and it was so nice and the temperature was perfect! The hot tub was such a nice additive! The hosts were so sweet and nice as well! And their dog was just as nice.

    Sunny2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely getaway in the trees. We absolutely would recommend this stay! We were able to cook dinners and sit outside to enjoy our breakfasts. Their puppy was adorable and added so much fun to our time. Thank you Alissa & Jeff for opening your beautiful home to us!

    Sienna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for letting me stay at your beautiful redwood retreat! It was so serene and shows off the beauty that is West Sonoma County!

    Morgan2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect spot for a sister weekend. We took full advantage of the hot tub and felt like we were in the middle of the wilderness, while having easy access to Occidental and Bodega Bay. The room is clean and well designed and has everything you need to hole up for a weekend if that’s your preference, but Allison’s tips and recommendations made it easy to explore the area. Loved it.

Located in the quiet and safe residential neighborhood of Graton. Graton is a small town filled with artists and environmentally minded people. We have very friendly neighbors. Some of our immediate neighbors are: metal sculpture artist, florist, pottery artist, textile artist and painter, photographer, animal activist, jewelry maker, montessori teacher, butterfly cultivator, art gallery manager, solar power business owner, shaman, backyard farmers and homesteaders, well you get the idea:)  Please note that the town of Graton is located in a rural setting, but the cottage itself is in a residential neighborhood with neighbors close by. Most of the time the neighborhood is very quiet and we live on a dead end street, but occasionally a neighbor may have a gathering during the day (extremely rare), or someone may be doing some construction or repair work on their house, kids may be playing, or someone may be doing landscaping, etc. In other words, there are direct close neighbors so if you are looking for a remote rural property that is silent with no neighbors this is not it.  Please be aware that we live in a rural area. You may hear crickets or even frogs at night. You may see squirrels jumping in trees next to the house. You may see wild turkeys, quail, deer, bats, hawks, or even an owl here and there either down on the nature trail or just walking down the street. You may see a beautiful red dragonfly drinking from the pool, ladybugs or even a spider or hummingbird on occasion in the backyard. In the spring, summer, or fall you may see some paper wasps (not aggressive unless they are attacked) or bees here and there on plants or flying around in the backyard and in the surrounding neighborhood. Leave them alone and they will leave you alone, we have never been stung the whole time we have lived here and a guest has never been stung either. If you are allergic though, you should stay elsewhere to be safe. We regularly check for paper wasp nests in the summer and get rid of them Immediately but if you are in this west county area you may still see some flying around here and there outside in the summer. They are a part of the natural environment here and serve a purpose, everyone we know in the area has some on their property and we have to learn to coexist with them to some extent in this natural environment. We hardly even notice them anymore, although we do go to great lengths to do everything we can to control them on our property but obviously we can never be totally in control of nature. You may see fake paper mache nests as a wasp deterrent or you may smell some slight peppermint or clove oil in an essential oil diffuser outside as a deterrent as well. If you are someone that needs a 100% controlled environment without any of these "nature" elements, then please find a different property that is more suitable to your needs. Also, please remember to look up and enjoy the stars at night, they are bigger and brighter here! The cottage is located in the heart of it all. Countless wineries / vineyards in the area to go wine tasting. Five minute walk to downtown Graton restaurants such as The Underwood, and Willowood. Five minute walk to the fabulous Bowman Cellars Wine Tasting Room which is three blocks away. Red Car and Dutton and many other great wineries are a quick five minute drive from the cottage. Five minute drive to the Barlow and the town of Sebastopol. Five minutes to Forestville. Ten minutes to Occidental.  Fifteen minute drive to Guerneville. Ten minutes to Russian River. 20 minute drive to the beach (Bodega Bay) 25 minutes to Healdsburg (take the back way, very pretty drive).
  • Beautiful home, great communication, thoughtful touches! Loved everything about our stay!

    Jack2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • WOW!! I’m pretty sure no other Airbnb will ever top this one. My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Farmhouse Oasis for four nights and they were 4 of the best with amazing hosts. That attention to detail and all the extra special touches are what makes this B&B the best. It truly felt like we were staying at a luxury resort with the welcome gift, pillow bar, bathrobes, the essential oils and sprays, the tub and soaking salts, the coffee bar, etc etc. it was an experience that we will never forget and I can’t wait to return. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

  • What an amazing space. We wanted a quiet get away and this was just perfect. Close to several restaurants and wineries but not too busy. Just loved all the details and the private backyard and pool was better than I expected. Worth every penny. I would definitely stay here again.

    Lance2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a special special place! From the minute you walk in you immediately feel the clean and relaxing energy. I absolutely loved the furnishing and design. There are so many amenities you can’t find at most Airbnb’s. We had our dog Milo with us and he felt right at home. We are so grateful to Trinette and Chris for all of their recommendations and communicating quickly throughout our stay. We will definitely be back hopefully sooner than later.

    Brandi2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Farmhouse Oasis From the minute you walk in the front door be prepared to be treated to a tranquil and relaxing environment . Trinette & Chris have really put a lot of love into their place and the attention to detail really makes this a special destination. Sparkling clean and full of light with a fully loaded kitchen complete with French press and freshly ground coffee or lovely organic teas to begin your day. The pool area is reminiscent of your own private Palm Springs resort and the master suite upstairs with claw foot tub and extremely comfortable bed rivals the best resort. Graton is so charming you don’t even need to get back in your car till you leave. There are wine tasting rooms, restaurants, cafes and hiking trails just a block or two away. If you do go further afield the house manual has great recommendations.

    Jennifer2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • While the pictures will likely sell you on the property, it actually surpasses them in real life. Trinette and Chris's place is obviously a well designed one, but their attention to the details is what takes it from a great home, to a special one. Our New Year's escape from the city was made memorable thanks to all that this home (and the region) has to offer, and the hospitality provided to us. Both inside and out, this home is a real gem.

    Erik2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Booked this place with a friend and we had an amazing stay. So inspirational! Will be back soon with my husband.

    Sandra2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. Would highly recommend. The interior is among the most beautiful and thoughtfully created airbnbs I have ever stayed in (and I have stayed at about 20). It is spacious, comfortable and has everything you need. When we stayed it was too cold to enjoy the outdoor space but we enjoyed looking out to it from the living room and imagine it would be wonderful at other times of the year. We were underwhelmed by the immediate area around the cottage. There is a walking trail close that was nice but you can't go far without having to walk on streets and you pass by a mixture of things - vineyards, industrial containers, day labor center, farms, etc. All that said, it is driving distance to lots of wonderful places and the cottage itself more than makes up for the area around it.

Three bedrooms plus a music room that can have a queen air bed should you need it in the countryside among organic apple orchards and vineyards in beautiful Sebastopol. Wrap around deck, stunning views. Soak in the hot tub, cook in our fully equipped kitchen and enjoy the splendours of Sonoma County.
We live in the countryside in and around organic apple orchards and vineyards in beautiful Sonoma County. Our home has a wrap around deck with gorgeous views. The ocean is a 17 minute drive and a trip from here to San Francisco will take one hour. Santa Rosa airport is a 30 minutes drive away. Soak in the hot tub, visit our daughter's hens, and enjoy the eggs if you wish (we'll leave some in the fridge), and help yourselves to what is growing in our garden and then cook up a feast in our open style kitchen while enjoying the views. We have pear, peach, apple, persimmon and apricot trees, to name a few, with a Meyer lemon tree to greet you at the front door. BBQ on the deck while sipping wine or enjoy a walk down our country lane. Know that our land is very private, but we do live in a neighborhood and have a 9pm-9am quiet policy to insure the tranquility of all the folks that live around us, so we ask for folks to respect this policy. Our home has three bedrooms ( 2 queen beds and one double bed) with 2 full bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own access onto the deck. We also offer two queen sized airbeds if needed which will be set up in the music room if needed. And we have a portable infant co-sleeper crib and a pack-and-play which can be set up anywhere. It's only a 10 minute drive to downtown Sebastopol where you'll find many shops, live theater and a multi-plex cinema. Sonoma County is famous for its vineyards, wineries and gourmet restaurants, all of which are close by. We're happy to recommend our favorites... The Armstrong Woods Redwood Forest is just 30 minutes away or just stay put for a perfectly peaceful getaway and a great place to meet Northern California at its finest. This is a family friendly home filled with many books, netflix and DVD's for both children and adults. We have two kitties, Oberon and Jezamo, who remain outside during your stay, but you're welcome to invite them in if you wish. We'd love to hear from you if you have any questions. Cheers, Karen and Eddie Make yourselves at home. We have teas and coffee for you, a piano and numerous stringed instruments, DVDs galore and enough music for endless inspiration. Of course sheets, towels, soaps etc. are all included. It is your home after all. We're close enough that we'll be here if you need us and far enough away that you'll have privacy as if it were your own home. The town of Sebastopol is quaint, yet it has all the amenities you could ask for. Movie theatre, wineries, beer and cider brewing pubs, ice cream shops, hiking, shopping, spas, music venues, Armstrong woods, Russian River, the beach… The list is endless, but you'll find details at our home of our top picks. The hard part will be leaving the house, because once you get here you've got views, hot tub, relaxing, cooking, talking, walks…. Remember, It's No Place Like Home, It's a Holiday! Easy parking right next to our home. Car rentals available in town and at Santa Rosa Airport which is only 30 minutes away. The house is all on one level and wheelchair accessible (no bars in the shower though). We have a TV for our many DVD's and Netflix, and basic cable.
We love Sebastopol. Sunday Farmer's Market, Thursday seasonal Barlow Market, brew pubs, wine tasting, cinemas, theater, hiking, biking, shopping. And, it's Sonoma County!
  • What an incredible home, opened to us by warm and friendly hosts Karen and Eddie. Spacious, quiet, comfortable home with beautiful amenities and gorgeous views. The night my friends and I spent visiting here was unforgettable, and we enjoyed every moment.

  • Karen and Eddie are wonderful hosts and were so kind to let us into their home. They greeted us kindly and were very attentive. They were clear with the house rules and they had several special touches for us that made the stay unique including fresh eggs from their chickens and lemons from their tree. We wish we could have stayed longer but are grateful for the experience we had!

    Sophia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house looks exactly the same as in the pictures. It’s very well laid out, with plenty of dishes and cookware. Karen is extremely responsive and the hosts have put together a great guide accessible after you book. Thoughtful touches everywhere. This makes a wonderful weekend escape.

    Wendy2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Karen and Eddie’s home. It is a great house- very relaxing and big enough for our group of 6.Karen was very responsive and even let our kids visit the chicken coop. We’d definitely be back and for a longer visit next time!

    Shweta2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a true California gem! The interior decor is so warm and inviting, we felt like we were at a family member's house! There were six of us total and the house was extremely spacious. The kitchen is a dream to cook in, so plan on having a meal or two there! I highly suggest breakfast on the deck, so you can watch the fog subside over the foothills. The view at night is even better, as you can really see stars! Karen and Eddie provided clear check-in instructions and also offered tips of what to do in the area. We had the chance to meet them and they were so welcoming. We hope to make a trip back!

  • Lovely space in Sonoma county! Perfectly located to visit all that the area has to offer. Bodega Bay, Russian River, wine country, cheese and food! The space is perfect for a couple. It was lovely to have coffee in the morning and look out to a spectacular view. The space has everything you need and Zan is wonderfully warm. We loved meeting her and her two pups! Thanks, Zan! We definitely would love to return!

  • This place is a total gem and the perfect home-base for anyone who wants to explore the West County of Sonoma. I highly recommend it! Zan is a marvelous host and was responsive to anything I needed while also giving me plenty of privacy. It was great to feel part of the Occidental community. The place had everything I needed—the mini kitchen was perfectly efficient and the fireplace made the nighttimes cozy—plus many luxury touches, like an incredibly comfortable bed and huge modern bathroom. I enjoyed the stunning hillside views, morning sunshine, and peaceful vibes. Thank you, Zan!

  • Beautiful and serene location. The home decor provided me with peace of mind when i was there. I would definitely stay again!

    Flora2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Zan's delightful studio is a quaint peaceful spot to land when you're exploring the coastal area. The tub in the bathroom is delicious and so relaxing. All was as described in the listing. Everything was clean and in fine working order. We brought our pekingese dog who got along fine with Zan's 2 pups. Lilah, the chihuahua mix, was very friendly and curious. Sochi, the other pup, greeted us upon our arrival but was less than interested in hanging around. If your pup is aggressive, be careful. This is essentially Lilah's house. The room overlooks Sebastopol to the east (you gotta check out Sebastopol, especially for Sunday market). Be sure to head to Freestone and bring cash to the Wildflour bakery there. DO NOT SKIP IT.

In the heart of Sonoma's wine and redwood country, we offer a beautiful setting to relax and restore. We are a short walk from the Wildflour Bakery, Osmosis Enzyme Spa, [featured in Sunset magazine], the Artesian Cheese shop and a vegetable farm. Please note, contrary to the listed amenities, we do NOT have a kitchen. We Do have hot water, hangers, and a blow dryer, which are listed as not available. Having technical problems with the amenity site.
On 44 acres of pasture and redwoods, we offer a lovely, private bedroom, [in its own building], up a short flight of stairs. It has it's own deck overlooking a view of redwoods and fruit trees. The private bathroom and shower are downstairs. It comfortably fits two people. Ten minutes from Bodega Bay, we are located in the heart of the redwoods and wine country! Nearby hiking, biking, water sports, wineries, and fabulous restaurants are a short drive in any direction. Freestone Paradise has just been renovated with "green", in mind. The bed is handmade organic cotton and the building materials are non voc. At this time we are not set up for pets.
Freestone is a quaint, historical, charming spot. Too small to be called a town, it boasts a fabulous bakery, cheese shop, winery, an enzyme spa, and Busy Bee's vegetable farm! We are ten minutes from the ocean, just as close to Occidental and Sebastopol, and twenty minutes from the Russian River. The climate is moderate, but bring layers as the temperature can vary, even in the course of a day! There are art studios, farmers markets, outdoor concerts, and, of course, the diverse countryside. Each nearby town boasts it's own unique flavor. It is a slice of paradise.
  • This is a separate stand alone two story unit behind the main house. It’s quiet, isolated (that’s what I like), and offers beautiful vistas of the countryside at every turn. Everything was clean and convenient. By the way, there’s a bakery called Wild Flour only a stone’s throw from here. It’s a real artisanal bakery....I got a sticky bun....it was good, but as heavy as a brick. I finished it off pretty quick but was so full I couldn’t focus on the day’s activity until the afternoon, and certainly couldn’t eat again that day. It’s enough for 4 people, although I’m not sure what all this says about my impulse control.

My home is in the country on 6 redwood acres with a private guest bedroom and an adjoining large private bathroom with a tub and shower. The queen size bed is comfortable. The living room and deck areas are available to relax in with a great view of the redwoods. All my neighbors are out of sight and quiet.
You can't miss the entry because there are stacks of milled lumber drying alongside the driveway. You will be staying in the redwoods among ancient trees in a craftsman designed home. Enjoy your cozy bedroom and a spacious bathroom with a claw foot tub and separate shower. In my country house it takes some time for the hot water to reach the faucet so please be patient.
Near my home you will find excellent early morning coffee shops in Bodega, Bodega Bay, and Occidental. Bodega is about 3 miles from my house and Bodega Bay and the Pacific coast is about 9 miles. Occidental, with its many restaurants and gift shops, is 4 miles away. Our west Sonoma county region is renowned for its ancient redwoods, beautiful coast and beaches, picturesque wine country, art galleries, antique stores, and gift shops, as well as delicious restaurants. You can hike, bike, fish, surf, kayak, bird or whale watch, or relax on the beach. Or go wine tasting! If youre looking for a zip line adventure, Sonoma Canopy Tours is just down the road from Occidental. Or continue north on Bohemian Highway to reach Monte Rio and the Russian River. Depending on your interests I'll do my best to point you in the appropriate direction.
  • This is a stunning facility, in the middle of a Redwood forest off the beaten track. A great base for the coast and for wonderful places like Armstrong Woods.

    Andy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice private room hiding inside woods. The only advice I would give is that you have to shower REAAALLY quickly. Other than that, everything’s wonderful. Ralph is super nice and even brought us take-out for dinner.

    Haruka2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet setting nestled in the forest. Ralph is a very interesting host. He provided us with lots of local knowledge. It was a great place for us to spend two nights while exploring the area.

    Nancy2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Imagine waking up to insanely tall redwood trees around you, in a home built by an architect. That’s exactly what Ralph’s place is. My husband and I had a lovely time exploring his forest property in the morning after arriving late the previous night, which is quite daunting in the dark if you’re not a good driver by the way - his place is deep in. But because of that, we enjoyed one of the most peaceful evenings we’ve had on our West Coast road trip. The room: The water takes a little while to heat up and the electricity went out in some plugs in the morning. This is to be expected in country houses. The space itself was beautifully furnished, and Ralph provided a space heater and extra blanket to ward off the cold. The bed was really comfortable. We had no complaints!

    Louisa2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location - A+ views from the bedroom window. It was so quite and peaceful in the morning. Do download local google map area for directions - cell service is spotty.

    Oleg2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful wooded setting.

    Mary2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph’s home was comfortable and stylish. We enjoyed the artwork all throughout the house and his extensive backyard of redwoods. It was so quiet but only 20 minutes to Bodega Bay. Plus, it was near to the town of Occidental which we explored and throughly enjoyed. We would definitely stay with Ralph again. The room was comfy with plenty of space for luggage. The bathroom was large and had a claw foot tub in addition to the shower. Ralph was nice enough to provide coffee and a French press and electric kettle too. There was enough blankets and heavy curtains. The shower had great water pressure but you had to be quick or the heat would run out lol. We would definitely stay with Ralph again!

    Heather2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our 2 night stay at Ralph’s place! It’s location in amongst the redwoods is just stunning and makes for a quiet, relaxing stay. Ralph is a very friendly, welcoming host with loads of local knowledge. The bedroom and bathroom are a good size and very comfortable. Happy to recommend Ralph’s Airbnb to other travellers. We drove into Occidental for breakfast at Howard’s cafe and didn’t need to eat again till the evening!

  • Leah's place is relaxing, peaceful, naturally beautiful- exactly what we were looking for. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful home, with it's beautiful interior design and awesome kitchen, and the outdoor spaces- the orchards, the garden, the redwoods, the hot tub. Leah was very communicative and Olivia was also very helpful when needed. It is conveniently located up from "downtown" Freestone, which is relatively close to Sebastopol and Bodega Bay. We hope to return someday soon! Highly recommended.

Our peaceful hilltop cottage is located in the lovely Sonoma County Wine Country. The 24 acre estate was originally owned by a London Times heiress who turned it into a beautiful garden oasis. She planted rare flowers throughout the property and also collected exotic pheasants. The cottage was originally home to her French 'sweetheart', while she had the larger home next door. We have kept the charming, quaint character of the cottage and added many modernizing updates.
Our spacious 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage has a well-stocked kitchen and a new gas grill on the deck. We offer coffee and tea for our guests. In the living room there is a gas fireplace and sofa bed. The two large decks get plenty of morning sun. There is a private, enclosed outside area (that is pet-friendly). In the bedroom, there is a new pillow-top, queen size bed and a TV. We supply family-friendly movies and boardgames for our guests. The large TV in the family room has plenty of available cable channels.
We are 10 minutes outside the quaint towns of Sebastopol and Occidental and about an hour and a half north of San Francisco. The California coast is only 15 minutes away. There are world-class restaurants and gorgeous wineries all within a half hour from here.
  • Had a great stay at the cottage celebrating my mother’s retirement with a trip from Ohio. Everything was advertised in the listing, and Patti, Kristie and Randy even added thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and local recs. It was so cozy and quiet in the evenings, and it felt like we had the entire farm all to ourselves. Cannot wait to come back for another visit! I only wish we would’ve had nicer weather to enjoy the outdoor space since it was a little rainy during our stay.

  • Great getaway in scenic location. Home larger than we anticipated. Hummingbirds greeted us every morning

    Ellen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay at Hummingbird Hill Cottage was just as delightful as the first time. We especially enjoyed the quietness in the beautiful redwoods setting. Many amenities included coffee, tea, fresh eggs and fruit, and flowers. Due to sleep challenges, I used the air bed some of the time. It was very comfortable, was easy to plug in and blow up and easy to deflate too. If you get to stay here plan to spend some time just at the cottage. The hosts provide games, books, and movies; plus there are two patios to enjoy. It was too cold for us to do so this time, being January. Inside was cozy and warm. We hope to stay again sometime soon.

    Debbie2020-01-22T00:00:00Z

  • Surrounded by redwood trees, listen to hawks; watch hummingbirds flit and fight right outside your windows. Greet turkeys and tree squirrels & if you're lucky, foxes wandering through the property. There's a lot more to discover at this truly relaxing respite. Our hosts provided fresh eggs from their own chickens, & apples, and decorated our rooms with fresh flowers. The bath towels are the softest we have ever used, the bed is very comfortable with plenty of extra bedding in case you need it. Books, games, cards, TV are all included in this cozy cottage located on a beautiful farm only a few minutes away from fabulous restaurants, shops, world renowned bakery; wineries; parks and outdoor pursuits. We highly recommend this property

  • Adorable cozy cottage with friendly hosts in a beautiful woody area. We loved our stay!

    Kelly2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Hummingbird Hill Cottage. It was a comfy, cozy, peaceful place in a beautiful area of redwoods and gardens. Although it is next to another residence it feels very private and is very quiet. We used the well equipped kitchen which includes a full size microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker and a k-cup coffee maker. Extra touches included fresh flowers in every room, treats for the dog, a couch cover in case the dog got on the couch, a gas barbecue, two decks with chairs and even a small enclosed space off one deck that allows your dog to be off leash. Check in was easy and there was a generous check out time of 1pm. It is easier to follow the hosts directions rather than google maps. The cottage is not far from Wild Flour Bakery in Freestone or Howard's Station Cafe in Occidental. Both are cash only businesses and serve excellent food. Be sure to allow a half-day or more just to relax and enjoy the cottage, watch the hummers or sit outdoors on the deck. We have stayed at five other Airbnb rentals in the area over the past two years and this is our favorite.

  • This is a peaceful, quiet country location, which is what we wanted. There are french doors off the bedroom and the kitchen with nice garden areas. This is a great value for the area, close to the ocean, the redwoods, or local wineries.

This rustic cabin is nestled in the woods - serene, private, and immersed in nature. Unplug and relax in the sunny hillside garden known as Foxhole Farm.
The cabin is tucked away in the woods on the furthest corner of the farm where you'll have complete privacy. The space has large sliding doors that open to a wrap-around deck where you can relax in a hammock to the sounds of nature. The kitchenette is stocked with pots, pans, dishware, utensils, a toaster oven, table-top electric stove, and electric kettle. Brew a pot of complimentary coffee in the Chemex pour-over coffee maker, or make a hot cup of tea to sip on the balcony. Shower under the sunlight or moonlight in the outdoor shower (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided). Dry off with a Turkish peshtemal towel for a spa-like experience. And speaking of experience...when nature calls...you'll get a kick out of the outhouse compost toilet! It can get chilly at night in this little micro-climate. Build a cozy fire in the wood burning stove (kindling and wood provided), or feel free to warm up with the electric heater. People and pets on the property: Safia and Luke (your hosts) live in the main house, and Taya is an herbalist and midwife who lives in the yurt with her 2 friendly dogs - Yarra and Maggie.
Ten minutes outside of downtown Sebastopol and close to many funky little towns, this gem is located in the midst of dozens of spectacular restaurants and shops. Less than a five minute drive to the Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary, Wild Flour bakery, and an artisanal cheese shop.

Nestled in between the towns of Occidental and Sebastopol, we live at the end of a vineyard that produces some of the best Pinot Noir in the world. Our Redwood room faces both a wonderful grove of redwoods and our vineyard. A private deck awaits for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Our outdoor bathtub on the deck allows for a nice warm bath facing the vineyards and redwoods.
West Sonoma County is home to some of the finest wineries, restaurants, vineyards, cafe's and more. Stunning vistas, and towering redwoods create a wonderful place to get away from it all. Vineyard's End is located on a country road.
  • A quiet and beautiful place

    Winnie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Carl and Leo were fantastic hosts. They were very responsive, respectful, and gave excellent recommendations for local eateries. The room was just how we envisioned. We had the top floor all to ourselves, including a private bathroom. The private redwood patio was a nice spot to drink morning coffee and appreciate the serenity of the redwoods. Parking was very spacious and easy. We highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nice stay in the wine country.

  • Gorgeous view on a beautiful piece of property

    Briana2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Carl and Leo were amazing hosts. Their communication was very prompt and always helpful. The checkin was very easy. Their beautiful house is in the redwoods and my room was so quiet and cozy. I met Carl in the morning before my long bike ride. He gave me more helpful tips and was very welcoming. Their house is perfectly located for touring all Sonoma county has to offer. I can’t wait to go back again to stay with Carl and Leo!

    Andrew2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Carl's place is truly a gem. It is close to many wineries and restaurants. Carl and Leo's hospitality is unbeatable. I felt at home since I stepped into their house. The communication has been prompt and easy. Their house is stylish with some nice touches. You can see the vineyard and big red trees from the balcony. A truly amazing place to spend a quiet weekend.

    Lisa2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carl and Leo are exceptionally kind and welcoming. Their place is very open, with good natural light, comfortable and welcoming, not fussy and perfect so that you cannot relax, afraid you might do something wrong. They have a friendly cat with a beautiful calico coat who mostly stayed on their side of the house, but wanted to be friends. My dog is not so used to cats and moslty wants to chase them until they remind her that they are bigger than she is. Carl let my little dog be in the other half of the house. The redwood room where i stayed is situated so that it is wonderfully private, quiet and so dark at night for sleeping. It has a beautiful view of large redwood trees and faces west so that you can even enjoy beautiful sunsets. The Redwood room is on the second floor with a full bathroom with a bathtub, Dr. Bonner’s best classic standby peppermint soap, just outside the bedroom door. There is a small refrigerator in the room to keep provisions (this little fridge was a little noisy periodically, but i’m particularly sensitive to noise and light when i want to be sleeping and most would probably not notice). I loved the total darkness and privacy of the room among the redwoods for sleeping, no curtains necessary! Carl is extremely thoughtful and organized and has thought of everything including a small flashlight next to the bed and a small dog or cat bed with blankets. The room has a rustic a-frame ceiling but is a true second story room, not at all claustrophobic like a converted attic space can sometimes be. There is a spacious dresser, a small rack for coats and a desk. Carl stocked the refrigerator with yogurts and there was oatmeal, granola and kind bars, all mich appreciated. I don’t drink coffee but Carl was up early each morning brewing fresh coffee. Most importantly, Carl and Leo were just soooo nice and welcoming i didn’t want to leave. There was another return guest who was also incredibly kind. What a great weekend, a truly beautiful location on a twisty rural road in the wooded hills between Sebastopol and Occidental. There is a beautiful view of the valley from the front of the house. A short drive to small towns of Occidental and Freestone. I was very busy with a workshop all weekend, leaving me little free time to explore, but next time i will come to hike the many trails nearby that Carl was telling me about. Look forward to coming back. My little dog was very happy there too! I did enjoy delicious lunches at Landline and highly recommend the Westside Iyengar yoga studio. The town is very sweet and the people are friendly. Thank you Carl & Leo!

    jennifer2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Courteous, kind, generous, and hospitable. Felt very much at home. Such a sweet escape from the city & suburbs to be nestled amongst the redwoods and vineyards. Great food recommendations and such a warm and homey vibe.. Looking forward to coming back one day.

    Leilani2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Carl and Leo have a beautiful home with wonderful amenities. My room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was very comfortable and the house was quiet. I can't say enough about how gracious and hospitable the hosts are. I am disabled and they helped me bring in my bags. I have special dietary needs and brought my dog and they went out of their way to call places that could accommodate me. They went above and beyond. I would gladly stay here again. Beautiful setting facing vineyards.

Now you find yourself in an eyrie above the tops of some of the biggest trees. This is a romantic log cabin perched on a ridge and within walking distance of the Old Grove and close to the Coleman Valley scenic route to Bodega Bay. And yet, it is just a short ride down to the attractions of Occidental, Freestone, and just a bit further on, to the Russian River.
The cabin has a dining room with morning sun, a standard kitchen 1970's style, no dishwasher. There is a bedroom/sun room with afternoon sun, which may be closed off from the main room. The bathroom has a shower, but no tub. You can eat alfresco on the terrace or read and rest in the quiet warmth of the greenhouse. The papasan chair is ideal for a snooze in the garden.
  • What a gem! I really enjoyed my time at Marcia’s place. The cabin is in the woods and the town of Occidental is very small but so cute. There is an organic grocery store and with all the cooking supplies in the cabin, my partner and I were able to whip up a wonderful meal. The stars are very visible and it is so incredibly quiet. Wonderful stay, would stay again without a doubt.

    Mariam2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax and get away from everything. Super cozy and wonderful to wake up near the redwoods.

    Lindsay2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Marcia’s place has a lot of character and is in a beautiful secluded location, but isn’t far from a lot of attractions like Bodega Bay or Guerneville. Her succulent garden was a nice touch with a patio I would wake up and have coffee on.

    Kyle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, peaceful oasis! What a lovely haven Marcia has created here. Great, cozy vibe- just the right place for decompressing and relaxing. Loved the atrium and all the succulents and other plants- great spot for meditation/reading etc! Loved the wooden cabin and the fireplace. So comfortable and retro; love the style. Would definitely recommend this spot!

We provide plates, bowls, glasses and silverware. Coffee/Tea. We live on the property, and enjoy working in the garden, cooking, or sharing a glass of wine on the deck.

  • We love this small cabin! This is our third time here. It is remote and quiet, and the outdoor bath tub is amazing. Alissa is very responsive, and their dog Canela is super sweet. The cabin was not vacuumed before we arrived this time, which was a surprise since it's been super clean in the past. The bed, kitchenette and bathroom were all very clean however, and we will continue to visit The Perch when we want a weekend in the woods.

  • This place is beyond amazing. Location location location. It is literally a complete immersion into nature. I loved the outside bathtub, it was perfect. I think I was in it for four hours and watched the stars come out! The room is cozy and the little kitchenette is perfect for making your coffee and having a small bowl of granola for breakfast. Very rustic and simple. The overall vibe and energy of the place is really what makes it. I don’t understand how a place could be so magical ....but it is. Do yourself a favor and get out of the city and stay here! Quick responders and extremely friendly! I will be back!!!

  • This is our happy place. Just perfect.

    Gail2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and quiet, the view is amazing, I was hesitant for the outside bath, it was really warm tho, & I enjoyed it! if you are cold blooded or a colder type person, I recommend you bring your own Electric blankey, there was plenty of blankets avail, however it was pretty cool at nites, and I am so glad I brought my electric blankey! There is a small coil style heater in the room, it doesn't blow any heat and takes a long time to get any results from it, but other than that it was a nice quiet place, we really enjoyed our time there!

    Julie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful property and quiet location in the forest. We had a quick but heart felt stay at the Perch. The hosts are wonderful and extremely helpful! Don’t miss a shower or bath in the outdoor tub ❤️

    Russell2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara’s little spot in the woods was perfect for a quick overnight. The landscape driving over from Sebastopol was stunning. Check-in was easy and no hassle, which I love. The bed was comfy, it was very clean and tidy, and I had everything I needed and more. The backyard looked peaceful and I would have loved to linger if I’d had the tine. The only caution I’d make is if you’re a worker bee: there’s no desk or table suitable for a laptop. For that reason I would have to look elsewhere if I were to come back to the area for a longer stay. But if that’s not an issue for you, I think you’ll love this little place! Thanks Barbara!

Our camper is new, we bought it just a couple of years ago. It has a nice dining area with windows that look out to beautiful oak trees. There is a microwave, stove, and refrigerator. There are two sinks, and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The back bedroom is cozy. There are different lighting options and heat and a/c. We are near the end of a dirt road that is off a main city street making the property feel very rural, but is only a 15 minute walk from the center of town.
The camper is totally self sufficient and located next to our house on our 1.5 acre property.
The location of our property is ideal. It is tucked away at the end of a typical residential street in Sebastopol, making it a short walk to parks and town, yet surrounded by properties with large acreage. This gives our area a more rural feel with lots of trees. The neighborhood is well connected and friendly. And many people are out and about taking walks.
  • Susan’s place is adorable and cozy. Loved that it was a short and gorgeous walk into town. Susan took us in last minute and left us a bottle of wine and chocolate. ❤️It made our weekend in Sonoma county happily memorable.

    Vincent2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Willard rag team to make sure your reasonable needs are met. Location a bit tricky to find even with good GPS navigation as there is no street sign to know where to turn onto Robinson Rd. from the West end of that road. It is a dirt/gravel road on that end. The RV was clean and all necessary items and a surprise bottle of wine and chocolate was waiting in the kitchen. Bed mattress, I forgot to mention, could use more support near the night stand. The extra pillows provided sufficed the second night I was there. The wonderful comforter made the cold nights excellent as well as the ceramic heater!

    Carol2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's RV was everything we expected and more. The place was incredibly clean and spacious, me and my girlfriend fit very comfortably. The location is perfect, only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Sebastopol! Perfect for a weekend getaway!

    Trevor2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s trailer is quite the stay. We stayed for over a month as temporary housing. The trailer is cozy but very functional. Having Apple TV there is a nice addition. It was cold/rainy much of the time we were there so didn’t get to enjoy the outside much, but nearby Ragle park is a great place to get a nice walk in. Susan is very friendly and caring, a super host who easily handled our odd requests. If you are a cook, just note that the exhaust fan doesn’t quite pull enough air out so you’ll want to open windows. No biggie. The portable heater is super handy. Also note the shower is small and the hot water is limited. So again cozy but very functional.

    Robert2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Spot was quiet and peaceful, and the RV was cozy, with generous-sized beds. Everything was clean and communication was excellent. Downtown Sebastopol was a short walk away - recommended!

  • The camper was a perfect place for me to rest and recharge this past weekend. Susan was extremely thoughtful and even checked on me the day after check-in to make sure I had everything I needed. The place was clean. I was quite impressed with this tiny little studio on wheels. I'm a chef and I have found no problem making dinner for myself in the kitchen!

Enjoy a quaint relaxing stay at Sonoma Coast Villa! In a rural setting, you can enjoy the coast being 7 minutes from the beach and close to all the wineries in the area! Room #4 is great for two people and is very spacious with a back patio with seating area.
When you come to Sonoma Coast Villa you will be greeted and given two keys, one to get you in the front door and one to get you into your private room!
Bodega, Bodega Bay, Valley Ford, and even Sebastapol and Petaluma all have things for you to do! I would be more than happy to help you figure out what you would like to do here on the coast or even inland!
  • We loved #4 at Sonoma Coast Villas! Alex was so accommodating and made communication easy. The room is quite spacious (we had stayed at a tiny house the night before, so welcomed this!), has a fireplace (I know, right?! so fabulous!), and the property is just beautiful. It's about an eight minute drive into Bodega Bay to grocery and restaurants, and a five minute drive to see Potter School House from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds." Tip: Grab to go from Spud Point Crab Co., then check out the sunset at Bodega Bay Trailhead.

  • Alexander was a terrific host/innkeeper - making sure that we had great local recs, check-in was a breeze and we had all we needed for a great stay at Sonoma Coast Villas. The property is lovely, the rooms were large, stylish and very comfortable. We loved cuddling up with our dogs, starting a fire and watching dvds from the property's collection. Terrific stay all around and excited to revisit the property again

  • Lovely space, environment, hosts, location - everything above and beyond lovely!! I’d be back in a heartbeat!

    Jennifer2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical. Ene is the most amazing and thoughtful host. Everything from the ease of the check in, suggestions of things to do with our dogs, curated amenities it was amazing. The place is exactly as described and pictured, even better in person. Plenty of space to relax, enchanting views from the windows, and knowing that if you need anything, literally anything, Ene is just a phone call or text away. The location is central to all things western sonoma coast, which was perfect. We came back each day exhausted, and slept like rocks. We cannot wait to come back and enjoy a little more of what this magical place has to offer. pro tip: read all the suggestions from other guests in the books, its full of valuable information (especially if you're traveling with dogs) and so much love.

  • We stayed here visiting friends for the Russian River Pliny the Younger release. It was perfectly located with Santa Rosa a quick jaunt to the east. We wanted something quiet and this place really delivered. Like the description says, you are on 3.5 acres, nestled in redwoods. The property is truly impressive. The owners are artists and their studios are located throughout the property. We look forward to a return visit.

    Jim2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ene and Scott’s cottage under the redwoods is exactly where everyone should visit in West County. It’s the perfect location to explore Sebastopol, Occidental, Freestone, Forestville, Graton, Bodega Bay and beyond! Inside there’s a cozy fire and quaint kitchen to enjoy your time inside before wandering the property to feed the chickens or listen to the hawks above. The hosts are above and beyond lovely, helpful and warm. Highly recommend!!!

    Ashley2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ene is a delight and her home is a beautiful respite. Comfortable, cozy (but very spacious!), tasteful and peaceful — I couldn’t have asked for more in a home base. All her suggestions were wonderful as well, the nearby towns are charming, and the nature can’t be beat. I hope to be back.

    Katie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful retreat in the redwoods close to many wonderful places. Ene even picked some fresh rosemary from the garden so we could add it to the dinner we were cooking -- it was amazing!

  • Great place to stay and conveniently located to pretty trees and pretty shores. Cozy wood stove and comfortable bed.

If you love the modern, clean style of boutique hotels, but crave privacy, serenity and glorious natural beauty, this is the place for you. We're that way, too. So we designed and built our modern hilltop hideaway to create a best-of-both-worlds experience for our guests. Call it Zen luxury with a view... and every amenity, including breakfast! From the moment you set foot in VILLA CIEL to the moment you leave, you’ll experience a heightened feeling of inspiration, relaxation and reconnection.
The French word "CIEL" has two meanings: "SKY" and "HEAVEN." When you visit, you'll know why this was the obvious name for our very special vacation retreat. Located in the most scenic part of Western Sonoma County, with long views over the Mayacama mountains (which straddle Sonoma and Napa counties) and rolling hills studded with vineyards, orchards, and farms, VILLA CIEL was designed from the ground up for guests who seek a stylish, serene haven with virtually every amenity they could desire. That means modern architecture, design and furniture... a private hot tub... fresh flowers, delicious breakfast, French press, and chilled drinks... up-to-the-minute technology (ultra-fast internet, private EV charger, bluetooth speaker, 4K Smart TV)... private parking and entrance... your own washer and dryer, towel warmers, heated floors and air conditioning — all in a stunning rural setting, with MAJESTIC, amphitheater-like vistas. VILLA CIEL takes advantage of Sonoma County’s famously fabulous weather, with a classic, airy, indoor-outdoor design. Drift in and outside of your scenic wraparound deck. Stargaze. Watch the sun (or moon) rise from your private hot tub, suspended high above the rolling fields on our 8-acre property. Or gaze in awe as the fog rolls in, a glass of local Pinot in your hand. Our Mediterranean climate offers generous, dry, sunny days for much of the year, and always-cool nights... perfect for all-day fun adventures like sightseeing, hiking, wine-tasting, brewery-hopping, cycling, shopping, laughing, and dining... and deep, restful sleep at the end of the day. Speaking of sleep, you'll fall into a super-comfortable bed with new Leesa mattress and ultra-soft sheets and down comforter. You'll also relish a spa-like bathroom with oversized shower drenched in morning sunlight, heated floors, fluffy towels with towel warmer, robes and slippers, fully stocked with toiletries and bathroom necessities. You'll even find a few extras... like your own sparkling-clean washer and dryer, ironing board, and (yes!) even a clean yoga mat — everything you need to get comfortable and stay awhile. Enter your suite from a private redwood door onto a generous, sleek deck with a jaw-dropping view. The deck features a brand-new spa, all-weather seating, outdoor grill, outdoor heater, and large, modern Italian dining room table — the perfect setup for cocktails, wine-tasting and al-fresco dining. The deck also frames a lovely kitchenette and indoor bar with wraparound windows (it doubles as a laptop station should you be so inclined). You’ll find your kitchenette stocked with delicious, local, organic breakfast fare, as well as fresh fruit — and perhaps a few other seasonal goodies as well, courtesy of your chef-hostess. If you need to go online, you’ll definitely appreciate our hyper-fast internet service. VILLA CIEL also has a brand-new Ultra HD-4K Smart Roku TV with active Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Now, Sling and Acorn accounts — and many dozens of other services available — if you feel like nesting and binge-watching. We've tried to think of every luxurious amenity you could desire... but the truth is, the ultimate "amenity" is the stunning, year-round beauty of Sonoma County and our magic hilltop hideaway. At VILLA CIEL, you will feel the intensity of nature’s ever-changing beauty and the special bounty that is the gift of this gorgeous region, barely an hour from the Golden Gate Bridge, and 20 minutes from the stunning Pacific Ocean. So come join us. Rest. Recharge. Reconnect with what inspires you. Celebrate a special occasion. Enjoy a truly romantic sojourn. Stay for a long weekend or a blissful vacation. VILLA CIEL offers all that a boutique hotel offers... and plenty of what it can’t— privacy, peace, serenity and... most of all... glorious natural beauty.
Only an hour from the Golden Gate Bridge and 20 minutes from the ocean, you'll be forgiven if you think you might’ve taken a wrong turn and landed in Tuscany (or Scotland, if you're at the coast!). Such is the power, beauty and diversity of the weather and landscape that surrounds us here. VILLA CIEL is perfectly situated to take advantage of all that this special region offers. Located at the top of a quiet hill, we are secluded and serene, with breathtaking views all around. Yet we are only 10-15 minutes from some of the most incredible food — casual to elevated — available anywhere. And no more than 45 minutes away from numberless scenic towns, villages and hamlets... iconic tasting rooms... redwood groves and parks... pastures and prairies... and stunning Pacific Coast beaches. The vibrant small town of Sebastopol, with its world-class eateries, wineries, breweries, distillers, its bookstores, antiques, theater company and art-cinema cineplex — and the amazing Barlow artisanal complex — is a mere 12 minutes down the road. Healdsburg — world-famous for its plaza, restaurants and unique shops — is a gorgeous 30-minute drive away across the Russian River and along the vineyard-studded Dry Creek Valley. Enjoy an unforgettable massage, facial or Japanese cedar bath at the award-winning Osmosis (5 minutes away). Go on a wine trail, an art trail, a cheese trail, forage for mushrooms, visit the old-grove redwoods at the astonishing Armstrong Woods. If cycling’s your thing, you’ll soon see why Western Sonoma County is mecca for scenic biking — and a frequent stage of the Tour de California. You could come here a dozen times, and never run out of inspiring, exciting things to do. (In fact, that’s why we ended up moving here...) We are here to help you make the most of your time with us.
  • A charming, quiet and clean respite from the every day hustle and bustle of the world. Viviane and Marc are terrific hosts that genuinely care about the quality of their guest's stay. The view is spectacular and the peace that comes along with it...priceless.

  • This place is perfect

    Ryan2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This little haven was an absolute dream with so many thoughtful touches. Every detail thought of and provided, from the towel warmer to the French press with coffee and half and half. Lovely space and gorgeous views.

    Erin2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place!!! The view! The hot tub! The bed that feels like a cloud! The space is very nicely decorated with many thoughtful touches (robes, heated towel rack, bottle of champagne waiting on ice at arrival) made our stay very special.

    Eyana2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I just spent 2 glorious nights at Villa Ciel. The setting is spectacular and Viviane’s attention to detail is pretty amazing. From breakfast including home made granola to luxurious robes for the delightful hot tub to so much more made it a perfect stay. However, what really impressed us both was the kindness and hospitality of Viviane and Marc. They both want out of their way to assure our stay was special and it most definitely was. We are already planning our return!

    Debra2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing space. I wish I could live there. Literally did not want to leave. Everything is high quality, and well though out.

    Jesse2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming and relaxing place to stay. We especially enjoyed the views of the valley from the patio and Jacuzzi as well as the thoughtful touches left by the hosts, including local bread, eggs, and granola! We wished we could have stayed longer and would love to stay here again!

    Aja2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Viviane and Marc are incredible as is their Villa! Do not hesitate to stay here! This was my most favorite part of my trip. The Villa was clean with amazing views. The personal touches and goodies Viviane left made the trip so memorable. I cannot wait to stay here again!

The Weber BBQ is located just outside the room. Additional equipment may be available at the main house. The Blue Moon Suite is located on a 7-acre country estate and vintage apple orchard surrounded by a forest of redwoods, pines and firs. Stroll or bicycle on the surrounding quiet country roads and hiking paths. Relax in the stillness of nature with a glass of wine, local brew, picnic or book. In the evenings, toast marshmallows on your own outdoor fire. On a clear evening, the stargazing is incredible! Just a 5-minute drive west of downtown Sebastopol the suite provides comfort and privacy with country views undisturbed by traffic, city noise and lights. The location is just outside of the Sebastopol city limit and a few minutes drive from Occidental and Bodega Bay. Solitude means that everything is a short drive away. Wine lovers have more than 50 wineries within a 5-mile radius of Sebastopol, and more than 200 wineries within Sonoma County's twelve wine appellations. There's even heirloom apple-made hard cider nearby at the Tilted Shed Ciderworks. Foodies will delight in the Zagat-rated local restaurants within an easy drive including Farmhouse Inn, K & L Bistro, Gravenstein Grill, Corks, Backyard Restaurant, Fork Roadhouse, Pack Jack Bar-B-Que, Handline and Revibe; to name a few. Local nearby nightlife, live music and dancing can be found at Hopmonk Tavern, Lucky Star and the new Barlow shopping/dining complex (5 to 10 minute drive). Bob is a retired and an avid motorcyclist, actively involved in the community (through Rotary, community activism, etc), who has lived in Sebastopol for over 30 years. Bob is a live music fan who appreciates the bounty that our local area provides, and looks forward to sharing it with you. Moka is our Canine greeter. She is a Black Lab mix, that was rescued. She is a little afraid of people she doesn't know, and may initially bark, but is great with adults, kids, and other dogs once she is introduced. Moka’s sidekick GusGus, is usually around on weekends so be sure to say hi. Motorcycle riders, the area is perfect for scenic rides. Ask about favorite rides through redwoods, along the coast, or along river, vineyards and dairies. I may be able to act as personal guide, schedule permitting. Please contact for more information. IMPORTANT: NO SMOKING INSIDE. No housekeeping is available. Laundry facilities may be arranged for stays of a week or longer. Please let us know in advance if your four-legged friends are traveling with you. PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have a photo on your Airbnb profile or do not have a government ID on file with Airbnb, please be prepared to text or email us a copy of your drivers license or another photo ID showing your address/ picture prior to check in. Once every two or three years, two full moons will occur in a month. This phenomenon is known as a blue moon. Used colloquially it means - a rare event, as in the phrase "once in a blue moon". We've created the Blue Moon Suite to be a place of rare beauty and peace surrounded by the incredible nature of Western Sonoma County. We look forward to meeting you. Bob (& Moka)
This is a gated private country estate. There is a 5 acre minimum in the area, so neighbors are basically not visible due to forest and foliage, but the hillside location provides scenic views and beautiful night skies that are unobstructed by city light The terrain is hilly, property is 3.8 miles from thr center of Sebastopol, .8 mile of that down an old paved but bumpy road. It is normally a 7 minute drive to downtown.
  • Quiet, comfortable and clean cottage. Hosts are great communicators. Though we only spent one night, this place would work well for a longer stay too.

    Lisa2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Most excellent place to stay! Nice area and excellent hosts!

    Laurie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank for for giving us a place to stay! The place is as described. Clean and tidy. Everything you need for a comfortable stay and more. Location is close to many things but far enough away to escape the city. Check-in was simple and we were even able to arrive a little early. No issues with communication and thorough instructions were given prior to arrival. Would stay here again.

    Tim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Joelle are great hosts! The Bluemoon suite is perfect for two people and close to so many wineries, hiking trails, and food. Joelle was extremely communicative with us leading up to the trip and during our stay. She even offered several recommendations on wineries to visit, restaurants, and hiking trails. We will definitely stay again.

    Damian2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and relaxing! Great central location for wine tasting at pet friendly tasting rooms!

    Samina2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Bob's place is truly tranquil. There is a wonderful stillness that comes from being surrounded by nature. Clearly, someone thought about what would make the studio a cozy, very functional and attractive place to live in. The little kitchenette works very well and the stainless steel pots and pan are in excellent condition unlike many other places I've stayed where the only cookware is scratched up teflon. Someone thought of all the things a guest would need to actually be able to cook a meal which is very important to me because my diet is so restricted. And the many little touches, like wonderfully thick bath towels and the sense of there being enough of everything, made my stay relaxed and comfortable. I can't say enough good things about the Blue Moon.

  • We enjoyed this beautiful retreat nestled off the beaten path, but, close to the darling town of Occidental. Highly recommend staying here. John and Dawn have thought of everything: very comfortable bed with controls for mattress and bath with a huge tub/shower. Nice coffee bar with lots of teas/coffees and fridge full of goodies. We hope to return again soon.

I loved the special touches - fireplace, big bathtub, kitchen area with wonderful breakfast and snack options, comfortable bed and extra blanket, a beautiful yard and cute outdoor cats to watch! My husband and I both agreed that this was by far the best air bnb stay we've had and we've stayed at a lot of places! We really appreciated the hospitality and thoughtful space! Hope to see them when we're in the area next time! Namaste!

  • We paid for an Airbnb but ended up getting more than the place. Miss Daisy is a kind-hearted, groovy, spirited human who is warm, friendly, and has a way of speaking that made us want to learn. It was a real treat to listen and learn from her worldview. The place was tidy, clean, and comfortable. Thank you!

    Evan2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Daisy was an amazing host, so sweet and kind! She is available as much or as little as you want, you can chat by the fire or you can have complete privacy. The big room is clean and beautifully decorated and has a private bathroom. There are gardens and plenty of outdoor space to wander or just sit and read. Her home feels like it's out in the country but it's only a few blocks from restaurants and markets. Do yourself a favor and stay with Miss Daisy!

    Tiffany2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We so loved our evening at Daisy’s Wonderland! Daisy is a wonderful spirit and that spirit is captured in all of the amazing details of her house. Everything was clean and ready for us. No issues at all. Extremely comfortable bed! Waking up and having coffee while exploring the garden and backyard was a super bonus! Daisy has beautiful energy and we felt very cared for. We will visit again:)

  • Kay’s place was lovely. The room was comfortable with many amenities. I had a pleasant and peaceful stay. I highly recommend Kay’s place.

    Wilma2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kay's place is in a good location - a few miles away from downtown Sebastopol and about 25 min from Bodega Bay. Kay's an excellent host.

  • Great room and bathroom, well decorated and cared for. Kay is a terrific host and very responsive to questions and concerns. I could not have asked for a better experience with Kay! The suite, Kay's hospitality and dedication to ensuring a fabulous stay made this feel like home from the moment I arrived. I highly recommend Kay's place.

    Surya2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Kay's was wonderful in every way. A quiet spot just outside of Sebastopol proper, it is very clean and comfortable. Check in was super easy. I slept soundly! And Kay is a most welcoming host. The Sweet Spot is now on my short list of favorites for the Sebastopol area!

    Kimberlie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I were visiting our daughter and family in Sebastopol for about 10 days. We were helping them move across town, and it was wonderful to lay our weary bodies down on a comfy bed in the quiet of the country. The space was very comfortable and full of amenities -- coffee maker (and Peets French Roast - yumm!), electric kettle, fridge, microwave, assortment of teas and oatmeal. Kay was terrific: good communication (she even notified us about our car's dome light being on despite her being out of town (!)), helped us resolve a Netflix issue also while being out of town, and afterward helped us retrieve some possessions we left behind. We'd definitely stay here again.

    Wes2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second stay at this darling studio Airbnb. It will not disappoint. Reasonable, cleanliness of 5+ and a very very sweet host!

  • Cozy place with a private entrance facing the pond and it's in a great location with a few wineries within 1 mile. The room was well stocked with a fridge, chic water jug, coffee maker and more. I'd stay here again if I'm in the area!

  • A very thoughtfully stocked cabin! They thought of everything here! It was super clean and we wished we could've stayed longer. Comfortable beds too, which is always something that is important to me! The setting is beautiful amongst the redwoods and it is very short drive to Occidental, Sepastopol or even out to the coast. Thanks for making it a great little vacation!

  • This was an amazing, eclectic stay! We left feeling rejuvenated and fresh.

  • All I can say is WOW! This place is amazing. I have been to Airbnb’s in the past, but I would say this one is by far my favorite. Everything is labeled which make things extra helpful. The design in this house is absolutely spectacular! Everything was comfy! The beds and pillows were beyond soft and enough blankets to keep you warm at night. The heater worked so well during the cold season. I love the back patio over looking the creek. I had a wonderful vacation at this secluded cabin! I 100% recommend this Airbnb.

    Heather2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin house with a surprising amount of rooms and beds for its size. The kitchen is well stocked and clearly labeled. It was also easy to keep the various parts of the cabin at a good temperature (we visited in late January). The location is excellent.

    Russell2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Super nice vibe and easy to chat with hosts.

    Eros2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place for a group of 8 adults and we had a great time at this cabin. There’s a creek behind the house. By car it’s really close to Ragle Ranch Park for hiking and a Safeway for groceries. One bed is located in an attic sort of room which was a cool surprise. The home included a Google home mini that we used to play music throughout the day. The place doesn’t list a carbon monoxide detector so we brought one, but turns out this place doesn’t need one because the stove is electric. There’s only one baking pan here so if you plan on baking a lot, you may want to bring another pan like we did. I wish we booked this place during summer and not winter because the nearby park trails were pretty muddy. Also I would recommend first arriving to this location when the sun is still up because it was pretty difficult to find at night. Check-out procedures weren’t too clear but we just did what we thought was customary at other Airbnb’s: putting all linen and towels near the laundry machines, taking out the trash/recycling, dishes in the dishwasher. All in all it was a really fun place for our group. There was ample space for parking three cars in front of the cabin, could possibly fit four. The cabin is nicely decorated, affordable, and contrary to the listing, the heating DOES work! (Thank goodness because it was pretty cold)

  • Annie was an amazing host! The stay was wonderful and completely relaxing. We loved the house with all the attention to detail you felt both luxurious and eco friendly. The location couldn’t have been better, with short drives to several little towns , wineries, hikes and cheese makers. We also loved being greeted by Lorenzo! He’s a perfect puppy! It was an excellent get away!

    Claudine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice, relaxing unique space. Clearly a lot of thought and personal touches have been put into it. It is a great place to get away, while still being close to the coast, parks, and Russian River towns with good food, bakeries, etc

    Dave2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Off the beaten path and so great! The stars are so bright and the ambiance and character of the fairy house is enchanting. The bathhouse is fun too.

  • Serene, incredible quiet spot... We really joyed unwinding at Annie's little spot near Occidental. Thanks for hosting us Annie!

    Tom2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute gem of a place. Located on an apple orchard, this cozy little cabin is really unique and wonderfully thought out. Location is just far enough away from things that you feel like you've gotten away, but a pleasant drive away from beaches, hiking, cute towns, brunch spots, etc. Great home base for a lazy weekend away. The building and space are completely unique, and the peace and quiet are worth the price of admission alone. The host is super attentive when you need it, but also incredibly respectful of your privacy and space. She also had lots of good tips for local places to eat and check out that we acted on and it definitely added to our trip.

    Pedrum2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really excellent place with top notch decoration and amenities. Everything is thought of here!

    Alex2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such a treasure! The little cottage had gems to find in each corner - the attention to detail was well thought out. We were surrounded by apple orchards and greeted by the resident pup, Lorenzo, as we arrived through the gates. The cottage is clean and spacious and the outdoor patio is fantastic to have cocktails and appetizers on. Annie is an engaged host and often asked us if she could do anything special for us - she made great recommendations for places to eat in neighboring Sebastopol and Occidental. We will definitely recommend this to our family and friends to stay in the future.

    Cindy2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spectacular spot! It's so thoughtfully designed, with everything you need for tactical living presented in a whimsical way. The bed was super comfy, we loved climbing up to the loft area and looking at the view of the vineyard and mountains beyond. It's a tranqil, quiet spot that invites you to relax and recharge. Annie was a wonderful host. Super easy to communicate with and had great tips for the area. We were unfortunately evacuated due to a wildfire a day early and she was incredibly gracious and flexible. We appreciated this space and Annie's hospitality immensely and are definitely planning on coming back.

Large, light and with a big deck that is perfect for watching the sunsets and stars we are on 4 acres on a quiet street alongside the Joe Rodota bike trail, an easy walk to the restaurants, tasting rooms, art gallery and antique store that make up our 1 block downtown. We are perfectly situated for visiting the Russian River, redwoods, the coast and all the West Sonoma County wineries - many are within 3 miles.
The apartment is above our garage which is separate from our house. It faces away from us so is fairly private and quiet. We don't have cars in the garage so you will not be disturbed. Parking is close to stairs leading to apartment. We are slightly upscale with bamboo floors and better quality linens and bedding. There is internet TV with the following providers. Netflix, Hulu, Sling, Amazon, HBO, Showtime.
We are on a quiet dead end street alongside the bike trail. Overall our few neighbors are very low key and there have never been any noise problems. In summer there may be some mowing or other garden activity that is generally done in the middle of the day. It is 1/3 mile into Graton for those who enjoy walking to the restaurants.
  • This was the second stay for my wife and me at Bridget's place, and we entirely enjoyed being there as much as we did the first time. Lovely all around!

  • This was my second stay at Bridget’s place in Graton. The space is clean, well appointed and spacious. We walked into town for breakfast and walked the hiking trail in the afternoon. Bridget is very accommodating and responsive to requests and questions. I highly recommend her Airbnb for comfort, cleanliness and location. We loved looking out at the ancient oak tree shrouded in early morning fog while horses and goats grazed nearby. It’s serene.

Robert and Jeanne have attended to every detail to make their guest feel comfortable and at home. The cabin is beyond inviting itself, but the little touches like chocolates and wine and fresh cut flowers left for you, make you feel like you were the only guests they ever had. We arrived to fresh eggs, OJ and cinnamon rolls in the fridge, which we promptly turned into breakfast the next morning. Occidental is a great little town, and we took advantage of it's great proximity to both the Sonoma and Napa wineries. We enjoyed all of Robert and Jeanne's great suggestions for local eateries, as well as hitting some local farmer's markets to do some cooking of our own in the amazing kitchen. After a long day of wine tasting or enjoying the sights, our favorite thing to do, was enjoying the amazingly warm and peaceful pool and spa area. It was like swimming in the trees. We slept with the windows open, just to hear the wind rustling and the sounds of nature...what a way to fall asleep!! We loved every minute of our time at the Love Nest, and will be back to celebrate another anniversary Thank you for an anniversary to truly remember!! A. and B. ******************************************************************************* One of most special features of the cabin and it's surroundings is it's PRIVACY. Another feature is it's security.... there is one driveway to the cabin, and it is monitored 24/7 by our staff. You can unwind in total privacy and serenity at the Wine Country Love Nest, while enjoying....all to yourselves.... a huge selection of amenities! Read on........ We have been hosting guests from all over the world for over 8 years. Celebrities and famous folks-(we won’t tell :-))- have stayed here in complete privacy. The Wine Country Love Nest is a spectacular couples-only retreat. LUXURIOUS, PRIVATE, INTIMATE & BEAUTIFUL. OUR MOTTO: "Always serve up the most luxurious, PRIVATE and relaxing experience possible to our guests. Provide them with a visit that they will never forget!" We give 110% of our attention to every detail of preparation for the Love Nest to always exceed your- (and our)- expectations. The pool, spa, sauna, redwood deck and patio are not shared with anyone. You will have it all to yourselves in complete privacy. The solar heated pool is available for swimming year-round. (During the winter, the pool is quite enjoyable if you like a cold plunge after the sauna or spa- both of which are a few short steps away from the pool). In fact, have quite a few repeat guests that book with us to do just that! Scandinavians have taken post-sauna dips in cold water for more than 1,000 years. We have resurrected a vintage, antique, hand-made log cabin and turned it into a very unique and intriguing home. It is all together beautiful, luxurious and intimate. The Love Nest sleeps 2 Adults in a TEMPUR-PEDIC 'Cashmere' California King bed with UPSCALE linens, and will accommodate 2 more Adult guests- (if approved)- in super-comfy twin beds in the "tree house"- a small, cozy, heated room just 10 steps from the main cabin. Our goal was to retain the charm of the home while COMPLETELY rebuilding every aspect of it's infrastructure. We installed all new windows, glass doors, appliances, electrical system, plumbing system and a radiant-heated Chinese slate floor-(Floors are heated during Winter). Every room in the cabin has this slate floor, which is of many hues and a fascinating pattern. The gourmet kitchen features new upscale stainless appliances, all granite countertops, and gorgeous blue cabinets that were custom fitted by a local craftsman. You'll also have a nice Wolf stove with 4 burners and a big griddle for those mornings when you want to cook your own breakfast. The Bathroom features a huge curved walk-in glass block shower built for two. There's a big skylight above, and a copper shower head from above. The bath also features a beautiful polished concrete vanity that was crafted by a local artist. You'll have a 7.1 Yamaha/Denon/Klipsch/Velodyne sound system in the living room that is a real treat. There are built-in high-end Klipsch speakers all around the room. You will also enjoy an HD 8' diameter screen and a ceiling-mounted Epson HD projector. The combination of the screen and the sound system creates an absolutely terrific movie or sports viewing experience! In the bedroom you'll have a wall-mounted HD 55' LED flat screen and a built-in Bose sound system. There is one more HD flat screen in the living room near the fireplace that's perfect to cuddle up in the afternoon on the cozy love seat to watch the fire and some TV. There's also a gorgeous new Yamaha Disclavier PLAYER piano for you to enjoy. High-speed wireless internet service and complimentary long-distance telephone service within the United States are provided. If you like to be super-cozy, you will love the heated slate floors during the Winter. Fireplaces in both the living room and bedroom top it all off. The living room fireplace will be loaded and ready for you to strike a match and have a romantic fire for your first night's stay! And……..firewood is always provided! You'll have a generous amount of Keurig K Cups and a Keurig coffee maker. When you arrive, you will find some essentials have been supplied- Half and Half in the fridge along with some farm-fresh eggs and some O.J. Or- why not take a walk to nearby Occidental and have breakfast at Howard Station- a historic establishment with great breakfasts. The outside of the Love Nest really fun, too! THE SPA: a brand-new Bullfrog spa built for 4-5 guests, but you'll have it all to yourselves. It's a wonderful experience to gaze at the stars while soaking in this special spa. It's filled with fresh spring water from our own spring. The POOL...… It's GORGEOUS, and solar heated Spring, Summer and Fall.. The adjacent lanai has a bar crafted from an ancient slab of reclaimed redwood that was harvested right off the property. The pool is surrounded by a redwood deck. It's fun to hang out in the expansive open-air 'surf shack' themed lanai by the pool in any kind of weather. There is a stainless gas barbecue that's always ready for grilling the dinner of your choice. On the patio you'll also find a charming fire pit for those starry evenings- making good conversation and s'mores. It is always stocked with firewood for you- just light a match and enjoy! The outdoor sauna- made of all clear cedar wood, and shaped like a wine barrel. It's located just a few steps outside of the Love Nest's door. It's really a treat! Sun? Lots of it! The Love Nest is located in a redwood forest, yet you'll enjoy a VERY sunny spot. You can gaze across the valley and you'll see that the Love Nest is actually located higher than many of the 100' tree tops in the canyon. Occasionally you can spot a Bald Eagle soaring high above, or the Red Tail Hawk mating pair that lives nearby. If you are an outdoor adventurer you are going to love this place. You will be close to exciting open-air activities. Sonoma Canopy Tours will have you zip-lining over the Redwoods and taking in the very best view of the valley. Be sure to investigate the spectacular sky bridges and the 30 foot spiral staircase along the way. It is a riveting, astounding, and awe-inspiring journey that is sure to leave you with lifelong memories. Get Ready To Explore And Restore............ If laid back style is more your thing or if you have had enough of an adrenaline rush for one day then it is a good idea to head into town. There you will find fantastic restaurants like the one at the Union Hotel which has unbeatable food and hospitality. If you like brew pubs, stop in at BARLEY AND HOPS for a great selection of beers on tap, live music and EXCELLENT food. There is also plenty of local artwork to check out and several quaint gift shops to explore before wandering back to the Love Nest for a much deserved respite. • A piece of heaven is the only way to describe our stay. Our stay at the “Love Nest” was absolutely perfect. It is serene, breathtaking and truly a hidden gem in the middle of a forest. There couldn’t be any greater hosts out there than Robert and Jeanne, they make you feel like this is truly your property. The ambiance they have created here is nothing I have ever experienced. It is peaceful, serene and beautiful. There is nothing they have not thought of, every amenity you could ever want. If you truly want to relax and not have a care in the world then this is your place. We are already looking at dates for our next getaway to the “Love Nest.” Thank you Robert and Jeanne!

  • Amazing cabin! So cozy and peaceful you won’t want to leave...but you are in a prime location to visit the coast, redwoods and the sweet town of Occidental. We had a wonderful stay exploring during the day and relaxing in the sauna and hot tub at night (with a cold plunge in the pool!). Our little dog throughly enjoyed the fireplace too. Can’t wait to come back - super hosts!

  • Beautiful cabin, absolutely amazing and well worth every single moment of the time you spend here. This is truly a diamond in the woods and a fantastic experience!!! Robert, Jeanne, and Pats attention to detail is a cut above. Thank you very much for the joy of staying at your place!!

  • The most perfect and relaxing honeymoon destination! Exceeded all of our expectations! The hot tub was easily our favorite amenity. And while the heated pool was still quite chilly in the 60 degree weather, I was fun to take a jump in after spending some time sweating in the hot tub. The cabin was quaint and clean and had everything you needed. There was also plenty to do. We went brewery hopping, winery touring, spent a day in San Fran. There's no shortage of fun in this area. I especially loved how quiet and private the property was. 10/10 would stay again. Thanks Robert, Jeanne, and Pat!

    Ashley2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazingly beautiful inside & out. Very unique in design & the amenities cannot be beat! It was so quiet & peaceful there. Robert, Jeanne, & Pat are all amazing & super hospitable! The Kincaid wildfire forced us to evacuate early & not living in California we had no real sense of when to evacuate. Pat has our back the whole time & kept us updated all evening! Our trip @ Love Nest was cut short but we will back soon to spend a full week here!

Too many wineries to name, but one of our favorites is Iron Horse Vineyards (take in the views and sip on some bubbly). - Visit the downtown Barlow, a 12-acre industrial-chic outdoor market district featuring local food, wine, beer, spirits made onsite by Sonoma County artisans (including Golden State Cider, Taylor Lane Organic Coffee, Crooked Goat Brewery, Woodfour Brewery, Guayaki Yerba Mate, and Community Market). - Hiking or visit the annual Gravenstein Apple Fair (in August) at Ragle Ranch Regional Park. - Hang out and enjoy coffee at Hardcore Espresso, just a short drive away. - Attend a show at the downtown HopMonk Tavern music venue. - Hike the miles of freshwater wetlands in the Laguna Wetlands Preserve which offers trails and ample birdwatching. _ For visitors looking to enjoy the wilds of the region, guests can explore all that the Sonoma Coast has to offer... - Oysters at Hog Island Oyster Co. on Tomales Bay. - Seafood and chowder at Bodega Bay eateries. - Fresh bread at Wild Flour Bakery at Freestone. - Take a stroll through the small town of Occidental and enjoy a craft beer at Barley and Hops Tavern. - Don't forget dinner, drinks, and Bocce at the Underwood Bar and Bistro in the nearby town of Graton. _ Spend the day kayaking or tubing the Russian River. Grab a Pliny the Elder at Russian River Brewery. Visit the majestic trees at Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. Or, travel east to the Sonoma and Napa Valley regions, known for hundreds of hillside vineyards. It's all within close proximity! _
  • Among the most impeccable places I've ever stayed. The yurt and it's hosts are thoughtful, warm and inviting. It felt like a gift to be able to hang out in such a special place for a few nights. My wife and I felt renewed.

  • This was by far my best Airbnb stay. The whole yurt and location was amazing and sparkling clean. There were thoughtful touches everywhere. Ashley & Justin literally thought of everything a guest might need while staying there. I was a little nervous about the outdoor bathhouse and shower, but it ended up being one of my favorite things about this stay. It was very hard to leave..I would go back in a heartbeat!

  • Really enjoyed our stay! Ashely and Justin's place is absolutely beautiful (many thoughtful touches, beautiful interior, comfortable space, amazing amenities, and more). They were also super responsive and shared some great recommendations with us! If you're looking for a nice getaway, I highly recommend this unique experience. Would definitely book again!

  • We can not say enough how immaculate, gorgeous, and well organized the property was. It was everything the post said it was, and beyond. The book they created for the yurt was thought through with every detail to make the guest experience a unique and unforgettable. Don't forget to read it for the most outstanding time at, and away from the property. All the recommendations were superb! We will continue to recommend to friends and definitely return!

    Tia2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Seriously the best weekend getaway ever!!! The yurt was everything and more. I will definitely be going back!

  • Thoughtful touches everywhere in the Yurt & adorable bath house. We had the best time relaxing outside on the deck. Beautifully designed! Thank you!

Harmony Cottage is a sweet studio right in the heart of downtown Sebastopol! Walk to great restaurants, coffee, wine bars, local brewery and shopping.
Our cottage is a separate building on our property, with a half bath and kitchenette and private outdoor shower.
  • Very cool space in a great location with thoughtful touches like coffee and wine we greatly appreciated. Outdoor shower was awesome too; highly recommend Colleen’s place

  • Great place. Wonderful location and amenities

    Carter2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Sebastopol! We walked from this cute cottage to Lowell's restaurant, a delicious farm to table restaurant where we enjoyed soup, salad and pizza – all made with the best local ingredients. We ate at the Wildflour Bakery and Sebastopol Farmers' Market too (eating was definitely a theme of our weekend away!) Colleen and Terence were very hospitable, the space was clean and nicely decorated with plenty of natural light, and the location was A+. One thing to note: the bathroom had a curtain rather than a door and that was fine for us but might surprise some guests. Thank you!!

  • Perfect location to walk to restaurants, farmer’s market, The Barlow, the movies. Simple, comfy lovely home base for West County adventures. Outdoor shower! Colleen is a warm and welcoming host, makes sure to orient guests and communicates quickly and well. Highly recommend this getaway gem!

  • Colleen is a sensational hostess who goes above and beyond for her guests. This charming cottage has a lot of space and an incredible outdoor shower - talk about being one with the natural surroundings. Colleen is so wonderfully hospitable and even had wine and coffee waiting for us upon our arrival. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. We had the best time. An added bonus was that we could walk just minutes to get into town and have a wine tasting! So much fun.

  • I had a beautiful stay at Colleen’s place ! Would definitely be back !

    Aisha2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous stay at the cottage, which was clean and tidy, loaded with charm and offered a sense of calm. From Colleen’s warm welcome and local recommendations to thoughtful touches (ex: fresh wildflowers in bud vases throughout the room; a filtered water station) the cottage was so very welcoming. Had a sound sleep on the mattress and the outdoor shower, enclosed by a roof of lush foliage, made you feel as though you were in a little secret garden— it was truly a highlight!

This rustic yet luxurious cabin is the perfect place to unplug. Walk through the woods, relax by a fire, and enjoy the food and wine of the Russian River Valley. 10 minutes from the beach. Minutes from Occidental, Graton, Forestville, and Guerneville. Main House has one bedroom, an upstairs with two twin beds, one bath, and is open loft style. 5 acres, trampoline. High-speed Internet. AT+T doesn't get great cell service. Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile do.
The house and cottage are on 5 acres of redwoods. The house is a one-of-a-kind cabin with an incredible fireplace and great stonework. Our family has made some of our greatest memories sitting by the fire, listening to and playing music, and enjoying each other's company.
The Russian River Valley is a beautiful area with lots of great restaurants, wineries, breweries, farms, cheese shops, oyster farms, beaches (ocean and river), hikes, and even canopy tours. Everything is within 10-30 minutes by car.
  • My friends and I had a great stay at this gorgeous cabin. The house is beautifully decorated, carefully considered and well-equipped for guests. It is a perfect location for exploring the coast, vineyards, and several small towns nearby, but equally perfect for staying put! We enjoyed sitting by the fire, being surrounded by redwoods out every window. Luke offered great tips for exploring the area and very clear instructions regarding the house. 10/10!

  • This cabin and whole property is truly a dream!! Don't hesitate to stay here. Pulling up the driveway to the cabin, I could immediately tell that this was a special place. Walking into the cabin itself - I was blown away by the amazing kitchen, the cozy living room with a fire place and record player (with great vinyl collection), and the comfy bed! Having breakfast on the deck in the morning was the perfect start to the day. The cute town of Occidental is amazing too and Luke provides wonderful recommendations. Bodega Bay, Sebastopol, and lots of other great towns nearby. It was a dreamy stay in your very own redwood forest with access to so many great adventures in the surrounding areas.

  • Sooooooo good! Great stay!

    Jonathan2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this cozy cabin so much, and already want to plan another trip. It truly feels like a home away from home. Spacious, adorable, and serene. The perfect spot to un-plug and relax. Happy to report that we're now competitive experts in both Clue and Mancala, thanks to the cabin's board game collection. The cabin is located in a giant redwood forest in between Bodega and Occidental, so you can experience both towns in a long weekend. We went gourmet mushroom foraging at Camp Meeker, made tons of s'mores at the huge indoor fireplace, and I even took a bubble bath in that Pinterest-worthy tub! So glad that this house is on AirBnb!!

  • Still my favorite cabin of all time

    Kim2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved my time at Luke's place. I booked this house for a personal artistic retreat and it was truly the very best place for this sort of getaway. The location is idyllic; tucked into the trees with gorgeous nature all around. Even with the ocean so close I found it hard to leave the house because I wanted to soak up every moment there. I spent the days making art on the front porch and the evenings either soaking in the magical tub or sitting in front of the fireplace. Luke was quick to respond to any questions that I had. I highly recommend Luke's place for a reset from busy, city life.

  • What a great find! Loved this weekend getaway.

  • We absolutely loved our experience at the cabin. Very special experience for us. This is perfect for a weekend getaway from the city. Luke was very responsive when we had any questions.
