Petra was an amazing host - she waited for us at the office to meet us and take us to the apartment, and was very sweet and welcoming. We were so happy to be upgraded to the unit with the ocean view and 2 bedrooms instead of 1, and also were allowed to store our luggage in the office and use the beautiful deck on the property facing the beach even after we checked out!!! The apartment is gorgeous - clean and modern with everything you could possibly need. Petra's staff was also very sweet and helpful, doing everything they could and more to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. I will absolutely recommend this property to anyone, and cant wait to go back there next summer.

My fiancée and I really enjoyed staying at Dune Point. Petra was very responsive prior to check in, and the Dune Point staff were very helpful and accommodating. The apartment is beautiful and clean and worth every penny! We would definitely stay here again.

This place was exactly what the doctor ordered. Very clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils so we could easily prepare meals. I forgot to pack some coffee for the coffeemaker and Petra arranged to have some sent over. What a life saver! The beach towels, umbrellas and beach chairs made it possible to comfortably spend all day at the beach without having to bring all that equipment from home. I would definitely stay here again!

This was a great house in Cherry Grove. It was spacious and comfortable... especially the bed. Nice private outdoor deck and convenient to everything... including the Pines. Sofina was easy to work with and made everything very simple for us. We would stay here again.

Sofina was wonderful. She gave clear directors for our arrival and sent us right to the home. She came to check up on us one time (on arrival day) and other than that left us on our own but was available via text. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay in Cherry Grove was fantastic largely due to our stay at this listing. Sofina was great with exchanging the keys and getting us oriented and the space was open, airy, and bright -- perfect for grilling and enjoying company. Having the beach a quick walk away made it that much better. Would absolutely stay again.

We had a wonderful week in fire island! Rod was a perfect host, very responsive, friendly and accommodating. The studio apartment was just right for our needs. Though it is an old beach house, they have it very nicely decorated and clean. A gas grill and porch made for lovely meals outside. And the outdoor shower was divine. In short, we had a great time and would be happy to stay again. Thanks rod!

Great little studio on the quieter end of the main drag. Wonderful porch with a table, chairs, and grill. Perfect amount of space for two people, and we had everything we needed (including olive oil and spices for cooking!:) One small tip... bring ear plugs if you like to go to bed on the earlier side. The house has windows facing the boardwalk and shares a wall with another rental. Nothing earplugs and some white noise from the fan couldn't remedy though! Wonderful stay, would very much love to come back. Thanks Rod!

We had another great week on fire island. The Paps is a cute studio- somewhat dark for a beach house and very rustic.... but the dutch door lets a great breeze and some light in. The kitchen is equipped with all of your cooking needs, a thorough spice rack and basics like salt and olive oil, gas stove/ oven, full fridge. Strong WiFi connection. The outdoor shower is absolutely fantastic. There were a few kinks in our stay but Rod was extremely responsive and accommodating. Thank you Rod!

Rod was very good at communicating with me, especially since there was a small misunderstanding on the cleaning person's end when I arrived. I didn't meet him personally, but he was very nice and available on the phone, and quickly offered to make it up for the issue. Overall my stay was very nice, and I would stay there again!

This is the beach cottage you always dreamed of! Its got everything you need for an amazing time in paradise! The deck provides the best view of the sunset, which is perfect for sitting and enjoying a glass of something and cooking on the grill. The peace and quiet yet the proximity to all the cool stuff is also better than any other place I have seen in the grove. Inside, it's very clean and tidy, and it really had everything we needed and more. Including a blender for frozen margaritas (yesss). My other favorite feature is the outdoor shower. It's heaven in there looking up at the stars or the clouds. I never wanted to leave! Finally, while we only communicated online and didn't meet in person, Rod's thoughtfulness and generosity was incredible. I have stayed in many airbnbs and Rod's easygoing hosting style and classiness makes him the probably best host I have ever had. That's it. I love it and can't wait to return!

We could not have wished for a better spot to spend our Fire Island weekend! The location was ideal, the accommodations were relaxed bungalow style amazing and we were so happy to be able to bring along our pup! Alexandre was a very welcoming and charming host. The studio itself is relatively small but also cozy. There is no kitchen in the studio, only a small fridge including some utensils. This place is delightful! We had a great time and we would definitely stay here again. The ad is completely accurate- the studio is a very short walk to the beach, is private, and has a very lovely deck. Drinking coffee and reading the paper on the deck was completely dreamy. Alexandre also let us stay way past the check out time which allowed us to have extra time at the beach- very accommodating host!

I had a fabulous stay on Cherry Grove . The location is perfect to enjoy the beach, the fun -relaxed -buzz if you decide to walk to the shops and restaurants animated area .But you can also peacefully enjoy the quiteness, the sounds of nature and relax at Alexandre's place. John's place is fantastic and just steps from the beach. He and his wife are very welcoming and accommodating. It's the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with your significant other or a friend.

John's place is perfect for a stay in Fire Island. Close to the beach, with a lovely patio in the garden. Watch the birds and butterflies while listening to the sound of the surf. The apartment itself is cozy and clean, and feels nestled in, tucked into a natural setting. John was a perfect host, friendly and welcoming.

Enjoyed this place even more the second time, especially outside. The front deck table area under the umbrella stayed dry even during a rain. The outdoor shower came in handy too. The area is quiet enough to leave the windows and doors open to continually let the outside air inside. John once again was a friendly and accommodating host. I hope for the chance to return.

John's guest house is the perfect escape for a weekend on Fire Island. It is very private and while it is a bit cozy, it has all you need and is the right size for up to two guests. We loved the fact that there was a grill on the patio and John let us use it! The chaise lounge chairs on the deck were also great. We also loved the little encapsulated outdoor space behind the bedroom, it is very private and makes you feel very much like being a part of nature. The house is a mere one minute walk to the beach, and plenty of long towels are provided in the apartment that you can use. Overall, it was exactly what I was hoping to find and I would love to stay with John again some time in the future.

Made to feel very welcome by lovely host/couple. Idyllic quiet spot with secluded shady garden and deck. Still very close to night life if you want it and the beach. Easy to get to from ferry 5-10 mins walk Host provided usual amenities and filter coffee as a bonus. Good advice on local bars/eateries shops etc. All of fire island expensive so this flat reasonable value

John was a great host. His apartment was just as depicted in the photos: very charming and enjoyable. The neighborhood was clean, quiet, and a great oasis from NYC. He responded very quickly to messages and was very kind by allowing us to check out later than the listed time because there were no new guests expected that day. The studio is a perfectly comfy and cozy place to stay in Fire Island. Small private listings like these are hard to come by and so it fills a nice niche for a solo traveler or a duo. I would say the location is absolutely perfect. Just far away from town to feel privacy, but close enough to walk in and make the Pantry before closing or grab a beverage at Low Tea. Proximity to ocean is great. I would walk out to the beach on Nautilus with my coffee and breakfast since it really is so close. There is a simplicity to the studio, don't expect any frills or luxuries, but it is soulful and unique, this modest perch in a beautiful garden. The outdoor shower is basic, but it is there and certainly welcome, the two burner stove is sufficient for low-maintenance cooking, fans keep the space cool, there are enough kitchen tools to make small meals work, the fridge is a great size and a freezer for making ice and keeping ice cream. The bed is comfy. There's a grill and having use of the washer-dryer lifesaving as nothing fully dries in the humidity and it's great to be able to dry towels for multiple days of beaching. This humble spot is a beach shack in the most honorable and affectionate senses of the term, a great value for the high-priced Pines set on a quiet and peaceful walk near the ocean and close enough to town for creature comforts. Recommended.

Johns studio was exactly as I expected. It had an extra lovely patio plus had great access to the beach.

Linda's place on Fire Island was a perfect little escape for my solo vacation. The room is small but very clean. It's ideal for 1 person or a couple. There's an AC unit that's controlled in the room which was perfect when it got too hot at night. It was a 2 minute walk from the ferry and right by Flynn's. I loved the common area deck outside and had my coffee and read the newspaper undisturbed in the morning. The apartment is on the bay side of the island so the walk to the beach took about 5 minutes (which is nothing in beach time!) I had a wonderful time and hope to stay again next season.

Had a wonderful time here! Linda answered all our questions promptly, and the space was perfect for myself and my partner. Everything was clean and cozy when we arrived even though we were a little early for check-in - there were towels, beach chairs, and an umbrella for our visit to the beach. The little kitchen was great for heating up our food and making breakfast - we had silverware, plates, even a water filter. The outdoor shower was lovely as well. Beautiful area, right next to the ferry and minutes from the beach! It was a wonderful little space to call home for a few nights. Overall we had a great time and would be very happy to come back.

Terrific space. Perfectly equipped. Brilliantly located close to the beach and to restaurants. Lovely people (both owners and guests). Has a Beautiful little deck, Comfy bed and Great heating (which we needed one day because of the chilly weather). I would LOVE to come back. Cherry Grove is a very special place and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of where to stay. One tip to light sleepers, cherry grove buildings are all light wood construction and close together so you will hear some noise from the boardwalks and neighboring apartments. Bring earplugs and you'll sleep like a baby.

We had a wonderfull vacation! The room was perfect. Beautiful, clean and so close to the beach. The room was ready for us at 12 even when the check in was at 3. Petra was really welcoming. We didn't realize that the season ended so the grocery shop was closed. Petra was great and brought to our room plenty of food! it was heart warming :)

This place is awesome! An adorable apartment in a great neighborhood and an absolute pleasure to stay in. Also, Rosanna is an amazing host, very reachable and helpful.

First of all, the listing indicated that there was no specific check-in time so we attempted to check in at 930am, and were turned away because the owner of the home was asleep. We were then told to come back in an hour -- not being from the area, this was a major inconvenience. Once we came back, we put our things down and were give the home's instructions which were very odd and included not being able to flush soiled toilet paper, but instead, put it into a waste basket in the bathroom. Also, we felt extremely uncomfortable because the door that connected the home and the apartment remained unlocked for 6 hours after several requests to lock it. While we stepped out, someone came into the apartment to remove their personal belongings. The listing also said that there was to be air conditioning, however, it was not working properly. Before we left for our event that evening, we were told that there was a separate air-conditioning unit in the bedroom, we turned it on and left. When we arrived back to the apartment, the bedroom thermometer read 97 degrees. The air conditioner we were provided was not vented to the outdoors and all the exhausted hot air was in the bedroom, making it unbearable to sleep. We were looking forward to our first Airbnb experience, and were let down. Unfortunately, we would not recommend staying here to others.

I would like to start off by saying Thank You to Alexandra for being an excellent host! I would highly recommend her to anybody travelling to NY. Her apartment is more like a private little house rather than just a room with a private entrance. It has all the amenities, utilities, furnishings and appliances that a person would want or need for any length of stay. The bed is very comfortable and the entire place was extremely clean. The neighborhood was very quiet and convenient, with ISP airport being only a few minutes away, along with multiple train stations that can take you in and out of NYC pretty quickly. I also found a great outlet mall filled with places to eat about 10 minutes or so from her house. I will definitely try to stay at Alexandra's home during any future trips to NY, especially during the summer months as she is located very close to some great long island beaches.

Alexandra's home was beautiful! The bed was comfortable, there was somewhere for us to park and the neighborhood was quiet. If we ever come back to Long Island, we'll definitely be staying here again:)

I had a great stay at this apartment. Due to work, I was at the place for 3 months and had no complaints. Stephanie and Alexandra gave me lots of privacy and was also very attentive when I needed something. We communicated very well by text message. The apartment was comfortable, clean and spacious. They had an AC in the bedroom that worked well but the apartment was fairly cool during the summer. The bedroom also had a ceiling fan. On weekends they cleaned the apartment and changed the bedding. The kitchen had everything I needed which include dishes, pots, utensils, fridge, microwave, etc.. Overall, I felt very welcomed and safe. The family is very nice and will definitely go back again.

We had a wonderful stay at Erin's place. Very clean and comfortable. Steps from the beach and to cherry groves bars and restaurants. We couldn't be happier and recommend it to anyone interested in a long weekend getaway

Nice apartment. Well situated, a quick walk to the beach and next to the bay. Alan is a very nice and responsive host who answered all my questions before I arrived, and also call few time to check everything was good. We had a problem with the pool. The water turned florescent green after a rain storm. Alan sent 3 sets of pool maintenance technicians to fix it. Sadly, was still bright green when we left. The pool technicians said it was an excess of iron in the water from run off from the trees. Weird. But, they were confident that they could fix it and were still their when we left. The kitchen is really really nice. Just like the pictures. Maybe better. We had a great experience and can recommend this place without hesitation. We would definately stay again!

Although I did not actually meet Alan at his house in the Pines, he kept me completely informed by email and text messages. I did meet another housemate of his, Bill out at the beach, a very nice and friendly guy who filled me in on everything else I needed to know. Alan had told me that Bill was one of their favorite quarters. Rentals in the Pines usually are sold by shares, a share of an approximately 24 week summer season. So a full share would be 1-bed for the whole 24 weeks, a half share 12 weeks, a quarter share 6 weeks. The apartment Alan created was spectacular, and looks even better than the photos, and the entire unit, on the pool level, was completely stocked with everything you could possibly need or want, especially the kitchen. I can truly say Alan's rental unit exceeded my biggest expectations, and it was a pleasure to stay in such luxurious comfort.

The poolhouse is a great way to stay in the Pines without committing to a share house. The apartment is comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. There's a dishwasher and washer/dryer in the unit. Fresh herbs grow by the pool, including oregano and rosemary. And the pool is heated. The two upper floors are rented by the share so there could be as many as 8 additional people at the house (or more with guests), but everyone was friendly and there were plenty of times when no one was around (if that's your preference). Overall, a great experience.

I've done Fire Island shares in the past, but having our own apartment was really nice. The place was clean and very nicely appointed. Bonus for having air conditioning, as homes on the island without it often smell mildewy. We'll definitely look to Alan and 281 Shady Walk for our next stay in the Pines!

Cute, clean apartment inside a beautiful historical home. Comfy king bed. Good A/C. Located steps from the main street with quaint stores, and tree lines streets. It's lovely to walk the neighborhood and view other historical homes. It's also great to have the ocean and docks just blocks away.

Amazing apartment. Really comfortable and modern while keeping the traditional historic look. It was the added little touches that really put it over the edge which showed how much love and effort Kimberly really puts into the place. Will definitely be recommending this place to friends.

Kim and Keith are such wonderful hosts! My husband, pup and I stayed here in the midst of a move after we sold our home and the space was perfect. The apartment has such a warm and cozy feel with a great location just a few steps away from downtown Bay Shore. The hosts were so sweet to check in and make sure we were comfortable while staying there. I would definitely recommend this space to anyone looking to stay in the area!
