  • Russell is an outstanding person with a great life experience and outlook. The bed was super comfy, and Russell let me stayed longer than it's prescribed by his policies. You can also have hearty breakfast out of his fridge (which I skipped only because I slept in, otherwise having fried eggs with cheese would be a bliss). Thank you Russell!

This off-grid log cabin was custom built by my husband. You will enjoy this home as the perfect vacation hideaway nestled in the Magundy River valley with a view of mountains to the south. This cabin sits on 10 acres of trees, mountains and a river. There is a short hiking trail to the nearby river, excellent for wildlife and bird viewing. This cabin is well built, even in Winter time it’s very cozy, after enjoying snow shoeing, ice fishing or watching Northern lights!
We live about 42 km away from Faro, where you could do some shopping, play golf, go for hikes etc. 25 km to Little Salmon Lake, good for fishing, boating etc 30 km away from Fisheye Lake, good for fishing, swimming, canoeing, ice fishing etc
  • Sabine's property is an absolute dream, with the warmest of hospitality to match. My only complaint is that I was only there for one night! I'm already excited to come back for a longer visit, I couldn't have asked for anything nicer.

  • Sabine & Michael were amazing hosts and went above and beyond expectations. Their place was sparkling clean and well worth the adventure! The space is truly a one of a kind Yukon experience. The cabin is tucked away in the wilderness but very easy to find. If you are looking for an outdoor adventure I recommend stopping by here! The hosts are very welcoming and helpful! My partner and I came through in some frigid temperatures and my ski-doo broke down in the bush, that was no problem though as Michael insisted on rescuing my sled even in -20 temperatures and on a dark night... He went out and towed my sled back to the cabins where not only did he just bring it back, he did everything to fix the sled for me! I cannot stress enough how thankful I am. These HOSTS ARE AMAZING YUKONERS! Sabine was a very gracious lady and invited us into her home on numerous occasions to warm up with coffee and goodies. We cannot wait to return to their lovely getaway! If you have not stopped by here I would recommend this place 10000 times over ❤️❤️❤️

  • Beautiful cabin, great people! Hope to get back there soon.

  • It was a great experience in the middle of beautiful nature. The hospitality was exceptional and you immediately felt welcome. The place is easy to find and the accommodation is very cozy. The hut offers a high level of comfort even in winter. I would definitely go back.

  • We were made to feel very welcome at Sabines and Mike's, Their hospitality is simply immense and they couldn't do enough for us. The cabin is spacious and beautiful, as are the surroundings. If we could we would go back every year.

  • This is a wonderful place and experience, in a beautiful cabin. The hosts are so friendly and helpful and can tell you all about the area. The cabin has delightful touches and their story of how it all came to be, is a very interesting one. Excellent value to say the least.

  • Dear Sabine, dear Michael Your patch of earth in the middle of Yukon is wonderful. I enjoyed the time with you very much. For me it was the first time I lived in a log cabin. I liked everything so much that I would like to spend the winter with you. I hope it works.

  • What a great little cabin! Beautiful, super clean great to get back to nature. Yummy baked treats. Thank you Sabine

Our Farm and B&B are located 30 minutes from the Town of Faro, in a stunning wilderness setting. We offer 2 private log cabins that are simple but cozy and clean. They have no electricity or running water and there is an outhouse. One cabin has a double bed. The other cabin is brand new, has 2 twin beds an exceptional views. We offer breakfast and/or dinner upon request. Full breakfast is 12.50 p/p; light breakfast 7.50 p/p; full dinner 24.00 p/p; light dinner 14.00 p/p (all prices in CAD)
Our property is off-the-grid and our amenities are basic. Showers and cell phone service are available at the House...and for the calls of nature we have an outhouse. It is possible to cook simple meals in the cabins. We are 15km away from the Town of Faro. There you will find gas, a hardware and grocery store, a nursing station and the RCMP.
We have no neighbors, and this is a prime location for bird watching (we are located in the Tintina Trench a major migratory route for birds, among them 200'000 sand-hill cranes). The wintering ground for the rare Fannin Sheep is a few miles from our Farm, and you can often see the sheep from the living room, with binoculars. An array of wildlife can be found in the vicinity of the Farm at different times of the year.
  • Best place for your next winter adventure in the area

  • A great place to experience the true Yukon wilderness spiced up with the three cute lamas entertaining your stay at the farm. Yasmine and Doug are very kind hosts and knowledgeable about the trails and activities in the area. Will definitely come back in the winter !

  • Great place to stay and Doug cooks a great breakfast.

  • Our visit to the Yukon was a wonderful experience and this place was exactly what we needed to make it that way. We loved the location, the animals, the hospitality, the food, everything. Even the road from town was a treat in itself, driving past verdant sloughs, sagebrush-covered slopes, and the most beautiful creek, where we saw huge salmon guarding their eggs and eagles perched on low snags on the bank. The farm is in a beautiful clearing in the woods near the river, with views of the mountains above. We had the quietest nights' sleep either of us could remember. It's a convenient drive into town for groceries or to head out to a lake or into the woods. (The hike from town up to the falls is well worth the while.) The place is rustic, to be sure, but I'm assuming that if you looked at Carmacks on the map and thought it would be a good idea to drive another couple of hours further out, you're okay with that. Faro is literally at the end of the paved road and the farm is another 20 minutes or so outside of Faro. We enjoyed the rusticity of the outhouse and the oil lamp in the cabin and the luxury of the cozy bed and hot breakfasts with home-made bread. Doug and Yasmine were delightful and helpful in every way. Their company and insights greatly enriched the whole experience. The dogs, llamas, and horses were a big part of the fun for us. The dogs in particular could definitely be difficult if you're not comfortable with dogs, but if you are they're a delight. I suppose I'm not adding much that's not already in the description or the reviews, but to say that it really was everything I'd hoped for when I read those, and I got to have my dream of experiencing the beauty of the far north come true.

  • Yasmine and Doug's place is a magical refuge at the end of the road. We arrived, had a wonderful home made meal provided for us, the northern lights were out and we slept in the most cozy cabin. That's not even mentioning the great crowd of dogs, two horses and three lamas that all made us feel at home right away! To sum it up: Truly northern experience, including stimulating conversation, and very warmhearted people.
