Jim's place is very beautiful and pristine. A short stay but a great place, felt better than any hotel and had more goodies. Would def stay here again if I am in the area

This was the second time my kids and I stayed here. It is a great place and Jim does a nice job as host.

There was beautiful white snow everywhere. Jim was a great host, he met us at the road and helped us move snow to park. The mountain slopes scared me a bit, but I wanted nature and that's exactly what I got. Beautiful home with beautiful scenery. We rented both rooms, which are down the hall from each other and are the only two rooms upstairs, so it works out well for a group who needs a little more space.

Jim was a great host. he was available even though he was sick. He came out to receive us as it was dark and late when we reached. He had breakfast set up. The house and bathroom were very clean.

Jim is a very kind and accommodating host, he was very proactive and helpful. The place was clean and well maintained, the breakfast spread was available all day long. Jim knew we had a 2 year old kid with us, so he had prepared one of the two beds with dinosaur theme sheets and also gave my son a coloring book with crayons. we were totally not expecting these extra (URL HIDDEN) kid was crying late in the night and Jim was very understanding. This place was just what we needed, it was quiet, warm and cozy, far away from the hustle of any city. Overall, we had a very good experience and this will remain our choice of stay for all our future trips to Lake Tahoe.

Jim was very attentive and responsive leading up to and throughout our stay. He even personally let us into the house at 11:30pm when we got in later than expected. The house and room themselves are very modern and hip. The turndown service (box of italian puff pastries; chocolates; bottled water; rolled towels; television on) was a nice personal touch that made us feel welcomed. We had a nice chat with Jim in the morning, he prepared us coffee, set out a continental breakfast for us, and he even offered us his egg and sausage breakfast he made before we left. Would definitely stay again!

Jon Christian was a great host, offering suggestions for local activities and even offering a ride to a local winery that he's a member at. The location is beautiful and secluded, offering a retreat getaway type of feeling, but still close to town and plenty of great restaurants and shops. The place was clean and very private, and the bed was comfortable. Great experience overall and will definitely come back!

The house, outdoor deck, bedding and kitchen etc. are very good, and better than the photos do justice. All the matresses are new, and high quality sheets leading to 4 people having great nights rest. The only consideration to know is that the house is situated between two roads that are relatively busy, so you'll hear cars in the background often. But a very good house and value.

What a perfect stay. There were so many cool things to do there(too bad we we were too busy to enjoy all of it. The house worked out great for us. Very pleased with our stay.

Absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. Perfect for family trip, close to jenkinson lake, gas station is near by, Safeway store is near by and if you stay during the week and boat rental location is closed at jenkinson lake I suggest stopping by Sierra boat rentals that's across the street from shell station. Over all we had a great time here, hammock, patio table, seat swing, big rolling cooler, picnic basket, pretty much everything you need to go to the lake and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Host is super sweet, funny and nice guy. Thanks for everything!

If you are planning the perfect getaway or retreat, William's place is it! It's in the woods, lots of Sierras all around. For relaxation, it can't be beat. There's the sturdy new hammock out on the deck, great lounging chairs and table with chairs + caterpillars are all there. It's ideal for privacy and quiet. The decor is delightful, the three bedrooms are nicely done and the comfortable sleep will be appreciated. The bathrooms are very clean and roomy. We were there for the weekend and cooked most of our meals in the fully stocked kitchen, although a great pizza spot is only 4 minutes away & a Safeway market, too. We could go on and on, but in short, William's place is truly wonderful. Now we plan to make it a repeat getaway for our business and personal retreats. And William is a wonderful host; he wasn't there but was always accessible immediately by text or phone. THANK YOU, WILLIAM for everything.

William & Bernadette's cabin is a charming and cozy retreat from whatever ails the urban soul! My favorite part was the deck. I spent each morning relaxing in the hammock listening to the birds. What a treat it was to escape the heat and hustle of the Bay Area and have the opportunity to be in nature in such a lovely location. William is a responsive and accommodating host and the cabin was clean and comfortable. Thanks for the great vacation!

Susan is an amazing host. This tiny little cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It's cute, quaint, and clean. It had everything we needed and more. It was a home away from home with a cabin feel. We wanted to stay somewhat close to the ski resorts to go snowboarding, but not get stuck in all the traffic coming or going. It's about 50 min to Sierra, 20 min more to Heavenly and 1.5 hours to Kirkwood. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Susan was a great host. Very friendly and accommodating. She made sure we had a nice and comfortable stay in her cabin. The cabin is about 1.5 hrs from Lake Tahoe. My three other friends and I stayed in the cabin comfortably and traveled to Tahoe both days. The cabin is located in a calm environment surrounded by woods. We enjoyed our stay and thanks to the host for making sure that we had a wonderful experience. In the description it says they have one bed and a sofa bed which accommodates 4 people. But Susan put her air bed on the sofa bed to make sure we all can sleep comfortably and it did work out well for us.

I really enjoyed staying at Susan's cabin--it was very relaxing. It is cozy and comfortable, surrounded by forest with a couple other houses on the street. It is just a mile from a nice walk at Cedar Park, and just a few miles to the lake, which is really nice for hiking and swimming. Susan had everything nicely set up. Thank you!

Like Pollock Pines, Susan's cabin is a good mix of being away-from-it-all with handy conveniences when needed. We love Pollock Pines because it's home to Sly Park, beautiful Jenkinson Lake, and has convenient shopping. So if you forgot sunblock or fishing gear Safeway and CVS are just 13 mins away. There are couple decent eating out options too, (we LOVE Burger Barn). When wanting to stay in, Susan's kitchen is handy, cozy and in good operation. VHS movies and board games available for low key evening in. The deck in the back makes for nice time outside too. If feeling adventurous, it's only an hour away from skiing and snow play. This is a great location for small families or buddies looking for a place to relax after a day of outdoor activities. Bring an air mat to lay on top of the fold-out couch as it is like most fold-out couches. I read in other reviews Susan may have one handy for guest on request. We didn't meet the host face to face, but check in was so easy and everything was pretty much set-up, we had no issues that required additional attention. We would definitely come back in the future. This is a good deal for a stay in Pollock Pines.

What a very cozy and comfortable cottage! It was ideally situated for exploring the area as we did, from Nevada City to the North and Arnold to the South. Susan was and excellent host, friendly, available and provided us with many tips and recommendations during our stay. She thoughtfully provided fruit, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and bottled water for us. We really enjoyed our stay.

Chaz is an incredible host. She really cares and goes out of her way to make your stay perfect. The place is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. If I were to create the perfect apartment to rent, I would model it after this one. The cabinets, appliances and everything that makes up Chaz's place is top-notch in quality. The surrounding area is secluded, serene and beautiful. I loved the single cup coffee maker. It makes an awesome cup of coffee! The dogs were very sweet. At the last minute I had to tell Chaz that we would be arriving after check in hours, to which she was very understanding. I felt bad as I didn't want to keep her up. We came from a long ways and were hungry, so after checking in we went into town to eat. Upon out arriving back, we were greeted by Ted, Chaz's husband who was worried that we didn't find anywhere to eat and said that he told Chaz that they should have made us something to eat. Who does that?!! Some incredibly caring people, that's who. It touched my heart. I felt honored to stay at their place. Rent from them, you will not regret it! Thank you Chaz and Ted! God bless.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in Placerville at Chaz's place. The studio was just as described online -- modern, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Chaz was a wonderful host, with great tips about the area. We also loved the 2 dogs, who effused great personalities and immediately won our hearts! And we enjoyed meeting Ted as well, very friendly and a great conversationalist. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit, which provided serenity, peace, quietness, in our otherwise crazy lives :)

We ended up renting Grace & George's place for a long-term stay. The home is charming & the location is excellent- very close to Main Street & the park. Plus, George is a sweetheart! He communicated with us every step of the way & when we finally arrived, he made us feel right at home. Long-term guests may want to be aware that there isn't a dishwasher, but otherwise the home has all the amenities you'll need. Don't hesitate booking a short or long-term stay with them - I know we'll be back! =) Thanks so much George & Grace!

We had such a nice stay at Grace and George's! The house is sweet and in beautiful condition. The whole space is very clean and comfortable, and the kitchen is nicely updated with modern appliances and countertops, well-stocked with everything we needed to make dinner for five. The back yard is huge and private. The house is so centrally located to the center of town - extremely convenient. There's even a lovely playground and public swimming pool just around the corner, which our 5 year old really enjoyed. We visit Placerville to spend time with family, and are so happy to have found a home that works so perfectly for us. We will definitely be planning to stay at Grace and George's the next time we're in town. Thank you for being great hosts!

Jim & Sharee's place was great! My friends and I enjoyed a min-weekend getaway to visit Apple Hill and it was the perfect stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. They even left some drinks and coffee for us in the fridge. I would recommend staying here if you're up in the area.

We booked at the very last minute, and Jim and Sharee were so quick to respond and extremely accommodating. The house is close to Sly Park Recreational area, which has beautiful trails. The house is comfortable, though the kitchen is on the smaller side (small fridge, basic supplies). Everything is super clean. Overall, we had a great time!

Great place, we traveled here for a relaxing weekend away from the Bay Area, and this provided a great base to relax in a comfortable setting, while being close to Lake Tahoe and other great hiking sites. The house is well equipped with everything you need, the hosts were very welcoming and responsive. I would definitely recommend this place.

The place was cozy! It had a lot of linens and extra blankets, very welcoming upon arrival. Communication was easy and we had no complaints during our stay. The directions were clear though the house is hidden. It was a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

Lovely little place in a secluded area of the Apple Hill region. We visited on New Year's Eve, so the owners graciously left us some chocolates and a bottle of champaign -- a wonderful surprise. One thing I should emphasize is just how important it is to follow the directions the owners send you. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)maps hasn't quite mapped that area out, but the owners' directions are phenomenally detailed so you should find this place easily enough. Thanks!

My family had a peaceful and rejuvenating time at the Jade retreat. The place is a refuge from the city. The stocked pantry with spices was the cherry on top to making our feasts\dinners at home even more delicious. We listened to music, played games, and engorged ourselves. Perfect!

We had a wonderful time at the Jade Retreat. Our family packed for every possible situation and we were pleasantly surprised on how well the home was stocked. From the kitchen and pantry to the bedrooms and linens and even a wide variety of books and games to keep everyone occupied.

We had a great time staying at the Jade house. It was a darling cabin tucked into the woods. I woulderful smell of the pine trees greeted us on our arrival and everything was just perfect. Judith made sure we got all the info for a smooth check in.

This place is a real treat. Judith's home is spacious yet cozy; we hiked and fished all weekend, and being able to come back to this cabin was absolutely great. It was a great getaway!

We three ladies and a teenager had a fabulous time at the Jade Retreat! The home is warm and inviting and has every amenity you'd want for relaxing, sleeping, cooking and enjoyment. The teenager particularly loved the loft with its own TV. We ladies loved cooking in the kitchen (waffles for breakfast!), the comfy beds, nicely appointed bathrooms, and meals on the deck. We all enjoyed several board games that were available, and walks in the neighborhood. We enjoyed being only 20 minutes away from Apple Hill, where we spent all of Saturday. Judith is very friendly, accessible, timely and helpful in all her communications, both email and phone. Her instructions and home rules were clear and easy to follow. She also resolved a minor glitch very promptly and satisfactorily, which added greatly to our enjoying the weekend. We can't wait to come back!

Our family reunion at the Jade Retreat couldn't have been nicer. The smell and embrace of the tall pines was worth the trip and the accommodations had many extras, like a pool, shuffle board, ping pong and other games....for our grand children and ourselves. The neighborhood felt safe, and accommodating, and we were so close to the lake for our daytime ventures with the canoe. Thanks to our hosts for allowing us to dwell in your special space for 3 days.

Justin & Jodi were great hosts. The location is scenic and a quick drive down to lovely Jenkinson Lake. I love the outdoor area surrounding the fire pit. My group and I had some great times staying at this spot.

Very nice, quiet and cozy place. Right down the street for the lake which we were looking for as well as minutes away from Safeway, CVS or any other place you'd need. Jodi was very nice and even left out some dog beds for our dogs as well as a kiddie pool for them to cool off a bit and enjoy, awesome! We are very satisfied with our stay and will definitely be back someday and would recommend anyone looking looking to give them a ring you won't be disappointed. Neither will your dog :)

Adam and Angela were very welcoming to their very nice house in a lovely country area of Placerville. As others have mentioned the room (and bathroom) were HUGE and just right for the four of us. We'd be happy to stay there again.

We had a great experience with Adam and Angela. They had our accommodations set up perfectly and we're awesome hosts! They provided us great local knowledge and were just ao friendly! Great house and the space we stayed in was huge and very comfortable.

Adam's place was great! Huge spacious room, large clean bathroom, and a private entrance with deck - all exactly as described. Great location situated between Placerville and Coloma. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay here again.

We had a great time at Adam and Angela's place. As listed, the room is quite large and we were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. Located just minutes out of Placerville made it an ideal location to relax after a day at Apple Hill. Adam knows the area and shared some interesting local history as well as some local spots to check out. On a final note, our 4 year old had a blast playing with their trains. In fact, our son already wants to come back to see "the train lady" and we hope to stay again in the future.

The place was far better than I expected. The area is quiet and secluded but just a few minutes from a quaint ski town. Adam was very accommodating and the room was huge.

Had a great stay in this lovely room. The bed was comfortable, the space was warm and gracious, and I had everything I needed. I had to spend much of my time there working online, and had the quiet and privacy I needed to do that. Didn't get to interact much with Adam and Angela, but they seemed very nice. Only thing I noticed that was a little off was the fact that the bathroom was frigid. But they had provided a space heater, and it was quick to heat up enough to make taking a shower less intimidating. Overall a great stay.

Our stay at Adam's place was perfect! We actually were offered to stay at his AirBnB property just a few minutes away. The villa was wonderful (it's also used as a wedding location). We stayed in one of the big rooms with our private bathroom. We sat outside on the balcony for quite a long time and enjoyed the view. We will definitely stay here again when we are back to the US.

Very clean and well furnished cabin in a quiet area. The house was full of food when we arrived! Nice and cheap stay for rafting and hiking with friends.

The guest house was clean and tidy. The host met us as we arrived and explained the details of the space. Marylin was very helpful during our stay and helped us with local attractions. The house was inviting, the bed was comfortable but felt small. The kitchen was well supplied which made it an easy place to crash after a day of travel.. The location is rustic, we had deer and wild turkeys greet us on the way in. The downside is that the cellular coverage is very spotty. AT&T worked but Verizon would not support a data connection.

Our stay at Marilyn’s cottage was absolutely wonderful. The location was gorgeous, quiet, yet convenient to where we ultimately were heading so totally spot-on. Marilyn was very responsive to questions, friendly when we arrived and offered excellent recommendations for perusing Placerville. I will definitely look to book with Marilyn the next time I head toward Placerville and recommend others do the same. Mahalo Marilyn!!

This is a beautiful little home in the woods. It is secluded somewhat but the owners are available if you need them. There were nice little touches like cookies in a jar, fruit and little snacks in the fridge.

We had a wonderful time at Saskia's place. We had also taken our 4 month old puppy to experience his first snow. Saskia was very accommodating and had the house in perfect condition with everything we would have needed, in place. Her home is beautiful and we would love to re-visit in the future.

Saskia's Mountain Retreat is far more beautiful than the pictures. If you appreciate artistry, a feast of beauty and ingenuity awaits you. This is not a cookie-cutter log cabin. I love how Saskia has combined accents of Mexican tiles in the bathroom with her woodwork. The toilet paper holder itself is beautiful. If cleanliness is important to you, you'll be delighted. Saskia's home feels brand new, and she is very tidy. The towels are plush, the bed is comfortable, and the room is spacious and well appointed. At the end of the day, I had the great pleasure of enjoying Saskia's company and delighted in hearing the stories of her home, clearly a labor of love. When I commented on how good the upstairs hardwood floors felt on my feet, I learned the story of where she reclaimed the wood, how splintery the fir was, and how she had to use a palm sander to work the wood. No wonder those floors feel so good! Saskia's Mountain Retreat is what AirBnB is all about. Jenkinson Lake is a bonus. I look forward to returning time and again.

We had a great stay for our first stop on our California road trip for our 10 year anniversary. Merick was very helpful and his place was a great place to come home too after sightseeing and hiking in south Lake Tahoe.

Merick's place is lovely. You'll have all the true comforts you could ask for. Perfect for a family style vacation to the South Lake Tahoe region. Clean, comfortable, and close (by car) to most of what you could ask for while staying in South Lake.

We were welcomed with M&M bars, craft beer in the mini fridge, and a cosy, warm place. So clean and just perfect for us. Sleds in the backyard, fresh snow on the ground and only 15 minutes to the resort. The 200 channels on the TV were plenty to entertain the kids in between snow play sessions.

We were in town for a friends wedding which was only a few minutes away, so the location was perfect for us. We are arrived to a bottle of wine and Merrick making us feel very welcome. The apartment is private cozy and comfortable and exactly as described. Great value.

The hosts were very nice. The place was clean and just what i expected. Lovely area, great view. There's even a hot tub. Nearby Lake Jenkinson was *packed* on the day i went, with thousands of visitors (cause it's also a camp ground).

Brenda and Burt were fantastic hosts. They were both incredibly fun and hospitable, providing us with a comfortable room, home cooked Southern food, and plenty of games and activities to enjoy.
