Beach
“A long stretch of beach to the left of the Byron CBD. Majority of this beach is dog friendly, so is a great place to spend the day with the whole family. Also home to the popular surfing and snorkelling spot, known as ‘The Wreck’. The SS Wollongbar ran ashore in storms in 1921, after being mostly stripped for her parts the frame remains and has become a beautiful marine ecosystem, where you can snorkel and see turtles or on the right conditions catch a wave. There are also, numerous banks dotted all along Belongil Beach where you can often catch some surf. Belongil, is also the best place in town to watch the sun set in spectacular colours. With the sound of the local drumming circle in the background, it’s a pretty magical way to celebrate the end of a beautiful Byron Bay day.”

“A great spot to hang at sunset with live musicians and buskers setting up free performances. Also some really good surf to be had off the shipwreck. Main beach offers a really nice long walk towards The Pass which is a great wave for learning to surf.”

“Byron Farmers Market is supporting locally grown and sourced produce, most of it is organic or bio dynamically grown. Currently the market is located at the Cavenbah Centre on Ewingsdale Rd, every Thursday and is a lazy morning to browse produce, listen to chilled music, and scoff on a wide variety of amazing and healthy food. Who doesn't love a breakfast Taco? ”

“The Pass Cafe provides great indoor-outdoor dining. Dine on the covered deck or choose an outdoor table under a market umbrella. The Pass Cafe is footsteps from the beach - at the best surfing break in Australia - and it offers a wide range of meals, snacks and drinks. This licensed cafe not only has tasty menu options, grab-and-go snacks (think fish and chips), ice creams and drinks but the friendly staff will welcome you warmly - even if you’re barefoot, in your swimmers and a towel over your shoulder. Enjoy the beachy vibe!”

“If you’re wandering around the industrialrArts & Industry estate looking for boho clothing, accessories, artisanal items, hand-made jewellery — and galleries — make 100-Mile Table your watering hole, where you can recuperate and re-energise, ready to hit the road again. Opt for the shared table, where locals and holidaymakers rub shoulders and interact, or choose your own small table where you can dine quietly while catching up on your holiday reading or emails, while sipping on your latte or savouring the fresh, ever-changing menu of culinary delights. Recommended for the taste, freshness and laid-back Byron vibe. Don’t miss. Call in for a casual brunch, lunch or your fave coffee and cake - and you never know who you’ll meet. Recommended! ”
