Places to stay in Breitenbush
We are offering you a comfortable private space with a private entry and parking which is located in beautiful Central Oregon. The quiet neighborhood allows fast access to highway 97 (30 min. to Bend) (30 min. to Sisters) (7.4 miles to Redmond airport) and only 4.8 miles from Smith Rock.
Welcome to our sweet and cozy 300 Square ft space which we have put much time and love creating. There is a comfortable queen size bed and the kitchenette is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, griddle, hot plate, blender, coffee maker, and electric tea kettle.
Our neighborhood is country living with acreage surrounding neighbors. The world famous Smith Rock is located just 4.5 miles away. Redmond downtown is 5.4 miles south and easy 35 minutes from downtown Bend and the Old Mill District which has endless access to restaurants, music, shopping etc. Note: my neighbor has a rooster we hear occasionally
  • Linda was an incredible host who from the get-go was very punctual, organized and incredibly polite. When linda told us Smith rock was closed she did not hesitate to advise us of other beautiful spots like steelhead falls which was literally 15min away from the Airbnb. If you want privacy, you got it. You have your own entrance separate form the house and your own lot for parking in the back with plenty of space (my 4runner easily fit in the space). Plus the fridge was stocked with fresh eggs from her own chickens and pancake mix was available as well. It couldn’t have been better. Perfect Airbnb spot that will be easily placed in my favorites list for future eastern Oregon adventures.

  • This space is a hidden treasure!!! Nestled sweetly on a property filled with love, the unit has everything you will need for comfort: heat, AC, extra blankets, sleep number bed, bathrobes, fully stocked kitchen, and even breakfast! Would return again and again. Linda and her family are very kind and courteous.

  • This is the most amazing cabin. There is literally everything you could ever need provided. I severely over packed because the host had everything available, down to a French press, dog toys and blankets, instapot and coffee grinder. In the hundreds of places I have stayed none have ever had such a homey, welcoming feel. We also had the pleasure of meeting nearby neighbors who are named after the main road, they were absolutely lovely and gave us great hiking tips. Best rental ever!

  • We came to Jana’s home not knowing what a gorgeous oasis we were walking into. Wow. The location is fantastic just next to the Salmon River. Was incredible to wake up and be submersed in so much greenery and nature. The home has a fantastic hot tub and wood stove which were definitely our favorite part :) we’ll definitely return to Jana’s lovely cabin in Welches soon enough! Highly recommend!

    Nikki2020-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jana’s place was great! Unfortunately our ski trip was cut short due to the Mt. Hood mountains closing because of COVID-19, but the stay was great the time we were there! Jana is great with communication and any issue we had before, she was sure to clear up! 5 stars for sure

This is a sweet tiny cottage. Basic, well planned, wooded nook.
We are located in the country, 7 miles from downtown Sandy and 4 miles from the nearest gas station and convenience store. The snug is situated about 100 feet from the main house and is accessed by a trail. It's the perfect place to stay if you are looking to disconnect and experience simple living. Deer can sometimes be seen roaming outside the window.
  • Beth is such a hospitable host! She upgraded me to another unit on her property during the COVID crisis, and frequently checked on me to confirm I was doing well. I highly recommend this place! Such great hospitality and space for an amazing price. Plus so easy to access Mt Hood wilderness area!! For those whom crave easy access to the outdoors, this is the place for you!

    Brooke2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great stay with a very thoughtful host. We came up to take engagement photos and rented the tiny house. Beth decided to upgrade us to her other bnb that had a bathroom so we could get ready. So thoughtful and kind. The room was nice and warm all night, she gave us recommendations for food which was absolutely delicious and not too far. Overall an excellent stay. Would highly recommend.

    Jaimalyn2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Snug as described! Beth checked us in and made sure everything was good!

    Jordan2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's place was super cozy and inviting. The place stayed warm on a chilly night, and Beth was very communicative and made check in and check out easy. The bed was comfortable and she had lovely amenities like several varieties of tea that made it feel like home. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

    Michelle2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's place is like heaven on earth! In the morning, the sun was shining through the mist and it felt magical. The cats wandering the property and saying hello was a bonus. Our little chihuahua really enjoyed walking the paths on the property. The tiny house was comfy and warm. Staying at Beth's had the benefits of camping (being in nature) but without the fuss. Thanks Beth for sharing your beautiful property with us!

    Vanessa2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The host Beth is absolutely the sweetest lady ever. She has amazing pets all over the place which made things extremely cozy. The location is breath taking with all the trees surrounded the tiny house. I’m definitely coming back again.

Our cozy modern pet-friendly cabin has been remodeled top to bottom. It has an open floor plan and will comfortably sleep 4 people. There is a full sized bed located in the loft, plus two twin size sofa beds in the living room. Sandy Ridge Trail is right around the corner, Wildwood Park is just across the way, and Mt Hood is a short 15 minute drive. Close to some great Eats and Drinks.
The cabin is approximately 500 square feet, situated on .33 acres, in an older neighborhood of log cabins and homes. The back of the property is extremely private and overlooks a year round creek and lush forest. We have a well equipped small kitchen offering French Press Coffee, Olive Oil, Salt & Pepper. The cabin is equiped with Wifi, Bose Soundlink Speaker and Jotul Wood Stove. No TV and No Microwave. The space is very open. Privacy from your cabin mates is essentially limited to the bathroom. The sleeping loft is open to the kitchen below, and has an opening to living room. We have shades on the front of the house but have left the living room open to the beautiful forest in back. Our cabin has an open loft, ladders, and a wood stove. It may not be suitable for younger children. Please contact me with any questions.
  • I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and when we first pulled up to the place, we were a little hesitant. However, once you step inside it's very cozy and the location is beautiful and makes for a great view! Even though it's small, there is plenty of space for 2 people! Erin is also very accommodating and responds quickly. Would highly reccomend for a little getaway!

    Daniel2020-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The inside has unique little findings like a cabinet filled with board games, books with great titles, and great coffee/mugs. Love the options for temperature settings inside and the sitting area in the back of the property. Also got really excited to have found a huge wilderness recreation center right across the freeway filled with trails opened during this time. Perfect getaway from the city, thanks Erin!

    Nathan2020-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Erin’s place during a family emergency in Welches. It was very clean, unique, and tastefully appointed. Thank you Erin, for accommodating us last minute, and for your prompt communication!

    Katie2020-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Roost was phenomenal. We were moved by how well the natural habitat has been preserved. So many delicate trilliums surround this cabin! The windows treated us with views of nothing but trees, and we kept the windows open to receive the joy of the sound of rain. This space is really special and I have already reserved next weekend as well. Thank you!

    Andrea2020-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Erin's place was fantastic. The hidden creek (and fire pit) behind the house was a special treat. We'll definitely be back.

Our wonderful guest house is a cozy studio with a queen bed, kitchen, sofa, and dining table in one large room. There is a bathroom with shower in a separate room. This is a second floor apartment over the detached garage, we live in the main house next door. The property is very secluded well off the road with no other houses nearby and borders the National Forest. Enjoy the spring fed pond in the front yard, a hike along the Sandy river, or a 15 min drive to ski resorts.
Skibowl is an easy 15 minute drive and Timberline is an additional 10 minutes. The Sandy River is a short 5 minute walk, the property is adjacent to the National Forest and close to hiking trails. There are no other houses nearby, so "cabin in the wilderness" is the main effect on this heavily wooded 5 acre lot. There are many nice local flavor restaurants and bars within a 5-10 minute drive.
  • Beautiful, private, and nestled in nature. It was the perfect spot to get away for a few days with my dog to unwind and enjoy the woods. Loved everything about the space.

    Michelle2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Bears Den was an adorable cozy cabin which was close to the mountains. We loved it!! David and Corrine are great hosts!

    Anna2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This has become a regular getaway spot for me and my dog, and it's always a perfect, relaxing mini vacation. I love that the kitchen means I don't have to go out for food, and the national forest being right next to the property makes it so easy to get some nice outdoor time or a hike. We'll definitely be back!

    Caitlin2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great hideaway with comfortable conveniences! I wish that I was there long enough to take advantage of the hiking trails that take off right from the property. The Bear’s Den is so full of bearaphernalia that even the TP is Charmin! Hahaha

    Garrett2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This stay went far above and beyond our expectations! Everything as advertised and so much more! Super clean, super cozy, somehow even more lovely in person. They have planned for every possible need, and the cabin and grounds are just chock-full of amenities. Seriously, there was not a thing we could think of that wasn't provided. They even had sleds for us to borrow to go sledding! They respected our privacy but made themselves very available and had a great guidebook of local attractions. I wish every host ever was like this!

    Victoria2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • They place was spotless and very homey. It had a modern cabin feel and all the amenities were top notch! It was even my girlfriends birthday and they went out of the way to leave a bday banner for her :)

  • It was a great spot! Just as described with wonderful touches.

  • Cloie and Michael's place is such a cozy spot! It's well stocked with kitchen equipment, has super soft towels for the shower, and soft flannel sheets on the bed was a great touch! We thought the water stopped in the kitchen and they were quick to respond and make sure everything was working. Their place is so welcoming, my husband and I mostly stayed inside cuddled on the couch with the many blankets provided, and the ambiance of the wood stove! We did get out one day and do some hiking and the location proved to be a good spot. Also, you must go to the Skyway and try the garlic cheesy fries and cheeseburger! We'll be back, thanks Cloi and Michael.

    Alexis2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I booked the Happy Nest so that we could have a weekend getaway in the woods. And we could not have gotten a better deal. Such an amazing cabin as soon as we stepped inside it felt like home. So close to Mt. Hood and all that it has to offer. We had an absolutely amazing time and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy a cabin in the woods.

    Jaron2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

We are open on weekends alowing for 5 days of rest for the virus to pass and provide assurance that you have a safe home for your overnight travel or weekend adventure.
"Please relax and enjoy yourselves. My hope is that you will find the various spaces I put together meet or exceed your needs. From a TV room to reading while gazing upon the mountains. The kitchen has all the basic needs to cook a meal; breakfast items such as, coffee, oatmeal or pancake mix. It also includes the basics of flour, sugar, coffee, pots and pans to mixing bowls and the all-important chef’s knife. If you need something or forgot something, I probably have an extra one someplace. Like a rolling pin, pizza stone, basil and garlic....... ?
The Neighborhood can best be described as Not Too Many Neighbors. Sage brush and Juniper trees. On the Canyon side its hard to locate a nearby home. Its just the canyon and miles of public land.
  • Jeff's place is beautiful - simple, clean, high-end without being intimidating. Just super comfortable. The views are spectacular - especially from the hot tub. Lots of privacy too. There are numerous hiking trails and picnic spots within easy driving. This is the perfect escape from going stir crazy during the quarantine! Jeff is a great host.

    Cathy2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had an excellent time staying at the Canyon House. Secluded place, easy to get to and nestled in epic beauty. Jeff was a great host, accommodating and provided clear communication. The place was clean and fully stocked. All our needs were met. Very pleased we choose to stay here. We are already looking forward to the next time we can enjoy the hot tub while looking at Mt. Jefferson!!!!

    Allen2020-03-22T00:00:00Z

  • Dale’s place was an entire cabin on his property with complete privacy. We came here for a quiet and relaxing weekend. We particularly enjoyed the covered/private patio that had plants and lights, where we drank coffee every morning. There was snow about ten/fifteen min drive up the mountain but Welches was low enough where we didn’t get snow. Which was perfect since we don’t have the best car to drive in snowy conditions. We cooked most of our meals here with a full kitchen and tons of spices available. The cabin warmed up very quickly with the electric fireplace and a space heater. If you’re looking for a fun bar nearby, I recommend Skyway Bar down the street. We loved the cute space and live music.

    Ashley2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Dale's cabin is cute and unique! He has everything you need to be comfortable, including a washer and dryer which I appreciated since we were doing a lot of hiking and it was nice to dry our clothes. The ladder to the loft is a bit steep, so don't stay here if mobility is an issue for you. Overall really sweet place!

    Savel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful quiet stay here! Very cozy and warm.

    Warren2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin Good vibes

    Joshua2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Dale's place was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Had all the amenities we needed. However we did spend most of the time on the futon when sleeping instead of trying to traverse the loft stairs it was a very comfortable and peaceful stay. So many artistic, and unique pieces of art and trinkets of his travels to admire. My girlfriend and I came for a couples getaway, with less noise from the city. We had hoped for snow but that was out of all of our control but not disappointed in the least, the rain falling on the porch roof was peaceful to fall asleep to. 10/10 will be coming back for another peaceful get away in the future!

    Michael2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty much the perfect spot for us for hitting the ski hills nearby. Its the perfect size for a small family. The kitchen was great the front room heats up nicely and has a comfortable pull out. It was very clean, very well organized and the upstairs loft was perfect. Dale came over to great us and show us around. He is a very nice person and is a ski instructor on the mountain. He had great tips for skiing for us. We would absolutely stay again and recommend it to all we know.

    Lisa2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable cabin great for two. Dale is fast and very helpful with responses. Check in was very easy, and the neighbors are super kind. Definitely will be coming back!

  • This little cabin in the woods was a perfect getaway. My boyfriend and I traveled to mount hood for a few days and the cabin is close enough and easy enough to get to from there. The wood fire place and hot tub were great to use after hiking in the snow. We watched dvds since there was such a large selection. We only had one small issue regarding the shower / toilet system but they responded almost immediately to fix the issue. I would definitely recommend. A little hard to find at first because the address on google maps has you trying to drive through the woods but it was easy enough to find on our own without maps. I suggest not checking in the first time after dark as it gets very dark out there!

Enjoy everything Mt. Hood has to offer in this one-of-a-kind contemporary and refined A-frame renovated in 2016 to reflect the contemporary aesthetic of the Pacific Northwest. *Most of our listing photos were taken by Christopher Dibble.
** COVID-19 INFO, PLEASE READ ** As hosts, we are doing everything we can to mitigate the risk of having our home be a place where you could come into contact with COVID-19. We are doing a deep clean after each guest checks out and disinfecting surfaces, drawer pulls, and door knobs. Opening windows and doors to let air circulate, and taking rugs and sofa cushions outside in to the sunlight. These are not foolproof measures, we can only hope they’re adequate. While we believe the risk is very small, leaving your home, which you have control over, for someone else’s does bear some risk. We are asking guests to practice social distancing/self-quarantine measures for several weeks prior to visiting our community, and to limit contact with people in our community to avoid transmission – e.g., bring groceries with you, don’t stop for gas. Right now all developed trailheads, Mt Hood National Forest, and State recreation facilities are closed. All of this concern for our guests comes from a heartfelt place of love and respect for our community. ** Rancho Relaxo is a thoughtfully designed and bespoke built A-frame with an open floor plan on the edge of the Mt. Hood National Forest. It is the perfect getaway for groups of friends, couples looking to spend a romantic weekend in the woods, those seeking some solitude, skiers, outdoor enthusiasts, artists, and families. Whether you lay around on the exquisitely comfortable sectional sofa, sip whiskey next to one of the fireplaces, find a new favorite book in our library, or use Rancho Relaxo as a base camp for adventures we know you'll have an incredible weekend. Kitchen features an electric oven/range, blender, toaster, all the essentials for a home-cooked meal, and a coffee grinder + french press to prepare some delicious coffee you picked up in Portland. You'll feel so cozy and relaxed in the winter with a hot cup of tea next to the propane stove. Microwave lovers, please note: there is NO MICROWAVE. Living room has an enormous sectional sofa and a wood-burning insert in a basalt rock fireplace, and an incredible vintage Benny Ourain rug from our friends' in Portland - Kat & Maouche. THERE IS NO TELEVISION, but there are lots of games and books, and the wifi is fast and reliable should you wish to spend some time on your internet device. Backyard has a charcoal barbecue, horseshoe pit, and campfire ring in addition to many tall trees. Upstairs both bedrooms have queen sized beds, high quality linens and textiles, and lots of architectural appeal. Entire house has an open floor plan. Unless you represent a production company with a generous location budget please don't message about one night stays, we have a strict two night minimum and are unable to accommodate requests for one night stays.
Our little neighborhood is close to Highway 26, which means quick and easy access to lots of hiking, skiing, restaurants, and perhaps most importantly, plowed & sanded roads in the winter. However, this proximity also means there's a bit of traffic noise, so people looking for a totally silent retreat may want to take this into consideration when booking.
  • Rancho Relaxo lives up to its name! It is a perfectly cozy, quant cabin to spend a few days relaxing and disconnecting. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom had everything you could need. Be mindful if you are staying for more than a few days that there is no TV, but they have good WiFi, a closet full of games, and lots of great nearby hikes. Overall, a fantastic stay!

  • This is such a beautiful cabin, very spacious, full kitchen, able to do all the cooking you could want. Two beds on separate floors, great get away for two couples or friends. Big living room space with a fire place, great for hanging out or playing games. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a sweet getaway.

  • The cabin is so cute! Definitely big enough for five if one person doesn’t mind sleeping on the couch, but I went for a solo birthday retreat and it was a perfect, peaceful place to be socially distant in a really beautiful setting. Cozy, great design details, and really easy checkin/out process. Highly recommend if you’re heading to Mount Hood!

  • The cabin was great had everything we needed and more. Location is great and close to everything. Hot Tub was amazing too!!!! Very homey, adorable cabin. Thank You so much for your hospitality. Great place for family gatherings or just a romantic getaway.......

  • Awesome place for a nice weekend getaway. Will book again. The sauna and hot tub are the best. The ski chalet style of the interior was awesome as well!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway to the Mt. Hood Lifestyle. Many nice touches allowed us to cook and remain very comfortable inside (a good thing, given virus-related closures everywhere). Would not hesitate to book again!

  • Why are you reading this instead of booking this place already? Because you are hoping this review could convince you to stay for a few extra days. We looked at a lot of other places in the mountain before we picked this one. It is beautiful. It is peaceful. It is at a great location. The cabin is so creatively put together, and it has little touches here and there that make you smile. The hottub was wonderful, and the sauna must be too (but we got too busy to use it. That's why you should stay for a few extra days so that you'll have time to try everything). Why did we get so busy you ask? Well, there were a lot of things to do in the mountains. Also because the cabin has a wonderful kitchen and fire pit. We couldn't resist spending extra time to make wonderful food for every meal. The kitchen has everything you need to make a great meal. It even has proper knifes. You know, those big ones without serrated edge so that you can actually cut things (and a cleaver too! So many places I've stayed at didn't have proper knives). The ONLY thing I didn't like about the cabin was that it didn't have an absolutely huge pan. I like cooking things in huge pans.

  • We give this place 5 stars! Great amenities for the whole family! And conveniently located.

  • Truly the dreamiest slice the PNW has to offer. The luxurious amenities and curated coziness make the worries of everyday life melt away as you walk through the door. The wide open deck expanse is perfect for nourishing morning yoga, soaking in the stunning view, and sipping a coffee or tea. Easily accessible from PDX, yet isolated enough to relish in solitude! This is our second stay at the East River Rest and definitely not the last! Thank you, Sarah and Duane! 💖

  • Beautiful, tranquil place. Ron and Barb were so kind and responsive. We loved everything about this home. The beautiful views make you want to stare out the giant windows forever. We loved the pizza oven! Such a treat! We will absolutely stay again!!

  • One of a kind. Absolutely loved it.

    Alisa2020-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • As international travelers, we’ve stayed at various Airbnb rentals. Our experiences have ranged from poor to outstanding. We recently stayed at Ron and Barb’s place for a few days to get away, socially distance ourselves, and to celebrate a birthday. Our stay at the Treehouse on the Little North Fork was outstanding! The place was clean, spacious, well equipped, comfortable, and safe. The beautiful setting was also peaceful and relaxing. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. We will definitely return!

  • Beautiful and relaxing weekend. We really enjoyed a quiet weekend away

    Cindy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ron and Barb’s cabin is a great escape from the city. The space is clean and stylish, the beds are comfy, and the view from the cabin is beautiful. Great proximity to hiking and outdoor parks/picnicking.

    Anna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here to get away from the city and enjoy the outdoors, the hot tub, and lack of people. The area and house were beautiful and we loved the sound of the river. The weekend was exactly what we were hoping it would be! We both highly recommend staying here if you are also looking for a little forest getaway. I do recommend bringing your own food or being prepared to drive a bit for food because all the restaurants we tried in the area were just okay. We hope to come back when the weather is a bit warmer and explore more of the trails in the area.

    Allison2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We love this place! Beautiful location and a clean, well-appointed cabin. Perfect for relaxing by the fire or just watching the river with a cup of coffee. The cabin is about 15 mins from the trailhead to Shellburg Falls, which is a great hike!

    David2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • If you are at all hesitant about staying here, don’t be! It’s as nice as the pictures make it look, and even more peaceful and relaxing. If you love the outdoors, there is so much good hiking all around. You will not be disappointed!

Trout Creek Camp is a family-owned property of nearly 200 forested acres with streams and wildlife located in the foothills of the Willamette Valley, about a one-hour drive from Portland. Your rustic cabin is located directly on the confluence of rushing Trout Creek and the sparking Molalla River, a tributary of the majestic Columbia.
The cabin sits at the confluence of Trout creek and the Molalla river; the white noise a meditative backdrop to your stay. Within the cabin you'll find a master bedroom with 1 queen bed, large tv, love seat, side tables and reading lamps. In the living room / sleeping loft you'll find two queen beds and two full size couches, reclining chair and reading space with a good little selection of books and a couple board games all close to the charming warmth of a wood stove. The kitchen overlooks a picturesque swimming and salmon fishing hole known throughout the area as the best and deepest around. Our hot tub is nestled a mere 20 ft from the river. The cabin is well outfitted with a full size fridge, electric stove/oven, dining table and chairs, microwave, coffee maker, and utensils. The bathroom has a claw foot tub/shower, toilet, sink, mirrors, hair dryer, plenty of towels, and typical toiletries. Our place is old and full of memories! A sitting porch overlooks the confluence, perfect for reading, writing or relaxing. An outdoor fireplace down a small path sits on the creekside of the cabin and offers another completely unique setting with a wood -fired grill and cedar picnic table. Swimming is encouraged and for the hale and hearty the extra cold Trout Creek makes an excellent plunge! The soothing sounds of the river and creek together will wash away the stress of modern living and busyness of long travel days. Plunge into the crystal clear water or hike up the creek and enjoy the irreplaceable unique beauty of our mature rain forest. Enjoy rhododendron blooming in the spring or pick blackberries, salal, and oregon grape in the summer. Hundreds of mushroom species thrive at various times of the year. Try your luck fishing for salmon in the river or fill your frying pan with Pike Minnow and maybe a trout in the summer. (license required). Hike the trails on the property or through the adjacent conservation lands. This rustic retreat is ideal for nature lovers, writers, hikers, fishermen and contemplative types. If you require all the modern conveniences, this beautiful property may not be the best fit for you. Cell phone service is spotty. But we've got enough comforts to keep your mind and body happy and to check your e-mail!
We're pleasantly without neighbors. Our caretaker lives next door to the cabin and is reassuringly close.
  • I almost don't want to write this review in order to selfishly keep this place a secret. It is simply wonderful. The cabin is rustic and yet, still has all the amenities you need. No matter what direction you look, you are surrounded with the vibrant beauty of the Temperate Rain Forest. There are plenty of things to do and nature to enjoy.

    Heather2020-05-06T00:00:00Z

  • Wonderful space! Loved hearing the sounds of the river night and day. Hottub was warm and clean, perfect for an soak under the night sky. Hike down the rivers edge was steep and adventurous but glad we made the trek to the little waterfall for a afternoon relax by the river. The kitchen was adorable and had all we needed. Beds were clean and comfy. We will definitely be back!

  • This was an amazing and relaxing place to stay. It was really cold when we got there but letting the fireplace burn for a while warmed up the living room and loft area. The room was too cold though, so much so that we did not sleep in it. All in all , i would definitely come back. Just to experience such a relaxing get away was more than i could ask for. My children loved it so much they kept saying they wanted to live there. We hope to go back soon.! Reserve this place if you love nature and want to get away from society. You will not regret it!

This is a rustic cabin that sits high above the Sandy River with views of soaring evergreens and the rushing river below. The interior is decorated with sweet vintage furniture and has a large rock fireplace to relax by after hiking or skiing!
This is a vintage treetop cabin overlooking an acre of evergreen forest and the confluence of the rushing Sandy and Zig Zag Rivers. It has one bedroom and one bathroom, with simple amenities and charming interior. We have young children, so this is definitely a family friendly cabin with books, movies, and toys for toddlers to use. There is no Wifi or cable, but there is a TV with DVDs, a record player with albums, and a nearby charming cafe with internet access if you need it.
This cabin sits in a neighborhood of other cottages and cabins. It is close enough to not feel completely remote, but also private enough to feel like you are escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. There is another cabin on one side of ours and a meadow on the other. Once inside the cabin, the private views are of the acre of forest below and the Sandy River beyond.
  • Cozy, rustic cabin with great stone fireplace and wonderful surroundings and sounds of the Sandy River!

    Carolyn2020-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to relax. Private setting up against the trees with a view of the Zigzag river.

    Kip2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is so cozy and inviting I found myself wishing that I had booked for a week instead of just the weekend. It's right on the Sandy with a little trail leading down to the river. The record player is a very sweet addition and the record collection is top notch! I will definitely be booking here again.

    Karina2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is an absolute dream! Truly every detail from the antique kettle on the stove to the wonderful and eclectic vinyl collection culminates its rustic charm. It was very clean (which is mighty impressive considering it's an old structure in the middle of a damp woods) and had all the necessary amenities, including a thoughtfully composed binder of hikes and suggestions on where to adventure in the neighborhood. We had a great time hiking and exploring, and I cant imagine a more perfect place to come home and make dinner, listen to some records, spend a little time reading on the back patio, and cozying up to fall asleep hearing the soothing sounds of the rushing river through the bedroom window! I'm fully in love with this cabin!

    Randi2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • So much character! Love the 70's vibe. It was cute and cozy and clean. This trip was my second time there. It's my go-to cabin near Hood!

    Claire2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin. Hard to find at night as others had mentioned. Great record collections and I really enjoyed the “cabin toast” how-to on the fridge. Who knew oven toast was so good!

    Grace2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great home! The location is beautiful and the photos don't do justice to how beautiful the spot is. Would definitely stay here again!

    David2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time at the Riverwood Cabin and once again, it felt like home. The moment you step in the door, you know you're in for something special. We brought dvd's for the tv and never even watched a single one because staring at the fire and playing scrabble was all we needed. The two green rocker chairs suck you in and you never want to leave. It was relief knowing that we didn't need to pack specialty kitchen items this time, after learning how stocked the kitchen was last year. The view of the river and the sound of its constant roaring will erase all memories of the city. We will continue to return as long as it is offered. A home away from home.

Perfect Mt Hood vacation rental in Rhododendron area. Far enough off hwy 26 for privacy; a short 15-20 minute drive to ski resorts, cross country, and sledding. Spring and summer brings hiking, biking, and fishing with the river steps away. A night out? Eateries can be found along hwy 26 and Government Camp. Inside the cabin is a river rock fireplace, stone and tile shower, washer and dryer, and a nice kitchen. Living room has a big screen TV and WiFi. Deck includes an in-deck hot tub.
The cabin is quaint and cozy. At the same time it has modern amenities in a rustic setting. Sounds of the nearby river help wash away the stress of city life. Tucked a block away from the national forest, this enchanting cabin shows off knotty pine interior, fir floors, river rock fireplace, updated interior, 2 main level queen bedrooms and an upstairs sleeping loft. Enjoy an inviting hot tub on the back deck and make Smores in a natural backyard fire pit.
The cabin is truly in the woods. There are other cabins scattered along the country roads, but not a side-by-side neighborhood. There is no one behind the cabin with the exception of a storage building that can be seen on the other side of the gully. Roads into the cabin are not paved, but are passable in most weather. The country air, tall trees, and forest sounds, make for a relaxing environment.
  • This place is amazing! Although it was our first stay here at the Podunk cabin, it felt like coming home the moment we opened the front door. It should be noted that I grew up in a small town in the mountains and so have an affinity for well-thought-out, rustic cabins. Behind the rough hewn lumber exterior, guests will find a well appointed home with thoughtful touches & cool design. From the well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, amazing river rock shower and fireplace hearth to the sparkling clean hot tub situated in the ample deck just out the kitchen door, this place is ACES!!!

    Tim2020-05-10T00:00:00Z

Coziest & cutest cabin in the village of Government Camp. Truly a rare gem in a superb location. Quick walk to historic Government Camp, restaurants, stores, and Ski Bowl Adventure Park. Short drive to the ski resorts, mountain lakes, scenic hikes & bike trails. Oversized and super steamy hot tub is the ultimate place to unwind after a long day taking in the mountain.
The cabin is in the village of Government Camp. There are other cabins nearby. You can walk to National Forest Land from the cabin in just a few minutes. You can also walk to center of town in about 5 minutes. It's an amazing walk in both directions as you're looking at mountains and there is often snow.
  • Amanda's cabin is a great place to relax, even if you don't ski. It is very cozy, especially in front of the fire or in the hot tub. Since we were here during the Covid 19 shutdown, Government Camp was empty, but the general store was open and had everything you could need. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking, so we had some gourmet meals. It was an excellent spot for hanging out with family and playing board games! We were the only ones on the street, so it was very peaceful, too. I'll definitely be back again.

  • We loved our 2 night stay in March. There was still plenty of snow to play in but it was pretty private and quite. It was very clean and the bed were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

  • We loved our stay at Amanda's cabin! The hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing, and we loved that they supplied robes and sandals as well. The cabin had all of the small touches that provided a cozy stay for us, and we definitely hope to return again soon!

Come relax and recreate at our beautiful riverside cabin. Forested charm with modern comfort. Covered deck. Indoor & outdoor stone fireplaces. Clawfoot soaking tub. Skiing, biking/hiking, fishing, golfing and great cuisine nearby.
Welcome to our family's Mt. Hood cabin on the Sandy River. We look forward to sharing this beautiful cabin with you. We love the place as do our friends, family, and guests who have stayed with us so far! Please check out the reviews, and we think you'll see it really is a special place. But to tell you a little bit about the cabin, it has all the essentials a mountain cabin needs: a big river rock fireplace inside, a large covered deck that wraps around the cabin and outdoor fireplace, big French doors that join the living room and outdoors together (during warm weather, of course) and a big spacious upstairs shower, plus a relaxing clawfoot tub for soaking in the downstairs bath. Although it is a "cabin" our cabin combines ambience with convenience. The fireplace provides the cabin feel, but just turn up the furnace and you'll be warm in no time. The open kitchen has a gas range, an icemaker in the fridge, and a dishwasher. It is also well-stocked with amenities so you don't have to bring them. The cabin is nestled in the woods for privacy and has beautiful river or wooded views out all windows. The property abuts the river, but sits up on an upper terrace, providing a little margin of safety for kids. We hope you'll come be our guests and enjoy this beautiful wooded gem as much as we do! The entire cabin will be yours so you'll have it all at your disposal. So make yourself at home. And if any problems arise, we are just a phone call, text or e-mail away if. This is a quiet wooded riverside neighborhood of old and new cabins, not a gated community. It is very private and feels miles away. But follow the path up the river and you'll be at some great restaurants, a coffee shop and bars in just a short walk. It is about an hour's drive from Portland but in the middle of a myriad of recreation options. Skiing is 15 minutes away, 20 if you choose Timberline Lodge where you can ski year round on the Palmer Glacier, or 30 minutes to Mt. Hood Meadows. Fishing, hiking, and biking are just a few minutes away as is an 18-hole golf course. The cabin sleeps 12 based on 2 per bed in each of the four bedrooms and 4 in the bunks. Note that the bunks are listed as a 5th bedroom as people get confused by the listing, but the loft is open to the living room, so can be noisy if you party by the fireplace until the wee hours. We find that more than 8 adults can get crowded, with room for only 10 comfortably around the dining table. So we suggest limiting your party to 8 adults and 4 kids, although you are welcome to have 12 adults if you don't mind sleeping in bunk beds. They are very nice custom built bunk beds that can fit an average adult (our teenagers always sleep in the bunks instead of beds when they have friends over), but they are really intended for kids.
  • Loved it. Beautiful, well appointed cabin in a gorgeous setting. Very comfortable and lacks for nothing. We had a wonderful stay!

    Jenna2020-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Such a nice cabin. Everything we needed for a great family getaway!

    Carmen2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful gem with my daughter and me. We had some chilly evenings and mornings and the access to plenty of wood and 2 magnificent fireplaces made our stay extra special and cozy. My daughter and I especially enjoyed cozy fires, cooking together in the well-appointed kitchen, and relaxing excursions to the Salmon River Trail and around the property. We got to see a pair of mating bald eagles across the Sandy River! I enjoyed a couple of bubble baths before sleeping well in my very comfortable bed! Thank you for being such a great host and for sharing your wonderful cabin with us.

    Lynn K.2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Like the many great reviews say, this place easily accommodated our group. Beds are comfy, the owners supply all kinds of extras like shampoos, coffee ect. not that we needed it but it is just to have all that stuff incase you forget something. (And actually we did appreciate the full spice rack and made some homemade croutons with a dash of garlic powder). We skied at both Timberline and Mt. Hood Meadows - a short drive but worth it to have have a place that could accommodate us all in one spot. We loved that we could expand the kitchen table for playing games and also enjoyed keeping a fire going at night which was mainly for ambiance since the place heats up nicely with the furnace. A great cabin in a great setting.

    Kierstin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a gem. My family comes each year and it's been perfect for groups big or small. You can definitely tell it's a beautiful family cabin built with love.

  • Wayne’s place was ideal for our family to be together for a few days. Beautiful setting and cabin, the perfect layout, clean and well kept with everything we needed for a lovely stay. Quick communication as well. Would definitely stay again!

    Lauryn2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our family vacation at the cabin was the best. The cabin is very secluded and quiet, which we loved. It was stocked very well with everything you need from cooking for a large group to having plenty of towels for showers. The fireplace in the front room makes it feel especially cozy. The cabin was very clean and the personal touches were nice. Having two coffee maker choices was great because some like drip and some like to grab a quick k-cup when headed out the door for a day of skiing. Ski-bowl is only about a 15 minute drive. Thank you again for an awesome place to stay.

    Debbie2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Another amazing stay at this gorgeous cabin! This was our second reservation with Wayne and he was nothing short of wonderful. The cabin was clean and beautiful as it had been on our previous stay and Wayne is a very thoughtful and responsive host. We asked last minute to extend our stay. Wayne was very accommodating and was able to make it work for us! The cabin is well stocked and comfortable and the kids love the built in bunk beds! The location of the cabin is beautiful and well located for food, snow rentals and groceries. Once you get off the highway, getting back to the cabin can be a little confusing due to the rural, winding nature of the neighborhood (also part of the charm of the location), but once I figured it out the first time I had no trouble navigating back and forth. The first time we stayed we arrived in daylight and had no trouble, but this time it was dark which made things a little more difficult because the road looked like people’s driveways that didn’t go through. If I had a flashlight to see down the side roads to find the turn it would’ve made things much easier. No fault of Wayne’s at all, just a tip if you plan to arrive after dark. I can’t suggest Wayne or his cabin enough and we can’t wait for our next stay! Thank you Wayne!

  • Incredibly cool spot. Classic cabin in every way

    Geoffrey2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, cozy, art-filled, funky. So many wonderful things about this property that it's hard to know where to start - gorgeous driveway, kitschy kitchen with everything we needed for simple meals, handmade art all over the walls (one of my favorite parts of being there was really looking around, up and down throughout the space and spotting all of the hand-selected and handmade touches!), a CD player with a fantastic selection of throwback tunes, the tiling in the bathroom, nice heavy quilts on the bed for cozy sleeping at night, proximity to the perfect kind of river for rock throwing and sailing leaf boats, and our very favorite part - the string of fairy lights leading to the hot tub. More evidence of the magic of this place: Someone had left a collection of sticks spelling out "hi!" right before the hot tub. If you're the kind of person who is filled with delight of the thought of that, this is the kind of place you want to be staying. I really hope we can come back someday <3

    Jenna2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy and relaxing place. A wonderful weekend getaway. We enjoyed the fireplace, comfy coach, wilderness view from the window and the hot tub in the middle of the woods. I would recommend staying at least for two nights and a full day, one night is not enough to utilize the value of the place.

    Sinem2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Sylvia's cabin for two nights as a little get-away for my girlfriend's birthday and it was perfect for us. Only 20-25 minutes to snowboarding, an intimate little hot-tub under the trees, and a wood stove to cozy-up inside was all we were looking for and this was definitely the spot. Will be back when we need another retreat.

    Ed2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is even cuter in person. I loved how secluded it felt, and there were cute little touches everywhere. I plan to be back.

You did it, you found the perfect mountain getaway vacation spot! This cabin is only an hour outside of Portland and only 15 minutes from Government Camp/Ski Bowl. This Cabin sleeps 9 guests and has plenty of parking; conveniently located off of Highway 26 and tucked far enough back to where you only hear the sounds of the Sandy River. It has a very open floor plan with 25 foot ceilings and plenty of exposed logs. The cabin has just been updated and has a very homey and cozy feel.
This Cabin is fully furnished and we have supplied it with everything needed to enjoy your vacation without having to pack extra household items. We have a fully functioning kitchen along with a microwave, coffee-maker, and toaster. The cabin has air conditioning and a heater and can also be heated by a propane fireplace along with plenty of cozy blankets to wrap-up in (for winter time, of course).
The cabin is located in the Timberline Rim Community (right off of Hwy 26/Brightwood/Welches area). The cabin is very close to the Sandy River. There are multiple restaurants and a grocery store all within 2 miles of the cabin. Very close to all mountain activities; Sandy Ridge Trailhead.
  • This is a great cabin to get away and relax! The hot tub is so nice and the cabin is in walking distance to the river. We really liked the big dining table and enjoyed playing games and the fireplace works super well!

Magical 1935 knotty pine cabin situated along the Sandy River on a half acre. Its location offers the best of both worlds; remote enough to escape the bustling city, while still within proximity to fantastic eateries, convenience stores, and sporting shops. Minutes away from beautiful nature trails, and 30 minutes to popular ski resorts. Or if just looking to spend the night in, then relax in the hot tub or play board games around the fireplace. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
This is a rustic cottage with an open floor plan of the living room and kitchen. There is a master bedroom that looks out to the backyard. At night, if you crack the window you can hear the sounds of the rippling Sandy River as you fall asleep. In the common space, there are steps leading up to the loft where we have twin and queen beds for more guests. There is a 3/4 bath. Walking out to the back deck, there is a grill for bbq. We have a neighbor on one side, but the surrounding trees provide for a private space.
The neighborhood is a close-knit community. There are neighbors across and next to us, but the surrounding offers a lot of privacy if you're looking to have a restful, peaceful stay.
  • My boyfriend and I have stayed at many Airbnb’s and this was one of our favorites! Beautiful rustic cozy cabin. It is secluded and surrounded by trees and a roaring river. The hot tub right next to the river was amazing. Dustin/An Diep were extremely quick to respond when we had some trouble starting the fire and helped us find extra kindling. Will definitely be visiting again in the winter!

  • This is our second time returning to the little red cabin. We came last year for my now fiancées birthday and came again this year! It has become a tradition! The place is so cozy, with amazing log cabin vibes. The hot tub by the river is amazing, so relaxing and we got in and out to sit by the fire pit in between hot tubbing! We played a lot of Fun games and enjoyed the wood stove with our pups. Can’t wait to return next year!

  • Great stay!

    Emily2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • The little red cabin on the Sandy river is a perfect place if you need some outdoor therapy but all the amenities from home ( plus some). We loved the hot tub at night with the sound of the river flowing and the twinkle lights were a perfect touch! The loft was awesome for my 13 year old and 10 year old boys! In fact, both of the boys slept over 10 hours each night. Which made it nice for my husband and I to enjoy coffee on the swinging bench in the morning listening to the river. Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to a family emergency. We did not ask nor expect any sort of refund but the owner was kind enough to send us a refund the same day we left. We would love to come back in the summer when we can spend a few more days and do some more hiking! Thanks for your hospitality.

    Tiffany2020-03-22T00:00:00Z

  • Social Distancing got you down? Well, you can still be a responsible citizen and do your social distancing part while enjoying a lovely getaway in the mountains. Maria and Chandlers place was perfect. My husband and I stayed there the first weekend we were all told to sequester and this place was perfect. It is on a big property with great views, was clean and had plenty of cookware for making a meal. Watching the snow come down in a cozy cabin made the world feel not so crazy. Thanks Maria and Chandler.

  • Very clean, comfortable cabin with fun and tasteful decor perfect for the setting. We found there was plenty of room for our family get together (9 of us) and my step dad said the master bed was very comfortable. Nothing better than coming in from a day of snowboarding and have a hot tub waiting for you. Between the well supplied kitchen, WiFi and fire pit, you really will find everything you need for a fun and comfortable stay. Great place.

Escape to a unique gem nestled in the forest overlooking the Sandy River, perfect for a romantic getaway.
**Due to the coronavirus, we’re adjusting our reservation policies to support the health of our community, such as blocking nights in between guests. Email your reservation request and we’ll share all the details.** Built by two Alaskan prospectors in the 1920s, the main cabin is the only cordwood cabin on Mt. Hood. This construction uses log slices in its walls, giving Little Yew Lodge its endearing polka dot exterior. Rough-hewn timber beams maintain its historical allure, while the décor is updated with a vintage/modern feel. After you're done playing on the mountain, enjoy drinks on the deck overlooking the Sandy river. A grill and picnic table allow for al fresco meals surrounded by 100-year old Doug Fir, Cedar (and Yew!) trees and the sound of rushing water. Once inside, you’ll want to cozy up on the Chesterfield in front of the original fireplace, assembled by hand with local river rock. Complete the mood by playing a record from a collection featuring everything from jazz and classical to 80’s and afrobeat. The armoire houses games from Jenga to Settlers of Catan. A brand new bathroom with a soaking tub is just off the dining area. Climb the rustic wooden staircase to the loft where you’ll find books, an HD DVD player, movies, and a flat screen TV streaming movies, news, sports, etc. via Roku. A queen bed serves for sleeping or just more area on which to lounge. Though there are many restaurants nearby, the kitchen is well stocked for preparing your own cabin-cooked meals. The adjacent cottage hosts a second bathroom, featuring a rainfall showerhead, and bedroom with queen bed and over-sized goose down comforter. [One night stays are usually allowed if a) reserving within 10 days of arrival or b) surrounding nights are already booked, leaving only one night available - but are not currently being accepted due to coronavirus adapations.]
All of Mt. Hood’s attractions are close by – summer and fall guests can embark on classic hikes, kayaking and innumerable fishing spots. Winter and spring guests are a quick drive to ski resorts (15 mins to Ski Bowl; 35 mins to Mt. Hood Meadows).
  • Beautiful space , antique rustic feel , a record player ! The host left notes to help along the way . Fire wood is ready to use . The view is AMAZING ! The bathtub in the main cabin is so incredible ! Perfect location ! We will be back

  • This place is amazing... from the location (right on the Sandy river!) to the design, layout and decor. At first we were sad there was no TV in the living room only to find that we ended up spending our time listening to her many (great!) albums, enjoying the fireplace, playing games and enjoying time together much more than watching TV!!! We got engaged there and it was the perfect place to do so... on the deck overlooking the river. We'll be back... many times!

  • Really great secluded cabin right on the river. Very clean and casual and had everything we could ask for. Comfy beds (yes we spent one night in each bedroom) with cozy bedding and HOT water. Atmosphere was relaxing and great places to eat close by. Rebecca is an excellent host. She communicated well before our reservation date and gave clear instructions on everything inside and out of the cabin. I highly recommend staying here, I know I will be back 😃

  • This home is a lovely getaway, right on the Sandy River. It was wonderful listening to the water rush by every night and we enjoyed the hot tub which is right next to the river. We found a great hiking area further down the road, the Barlow Wayside Park. Most other hiking trails in the area are closed due to Covid.

    Catherine2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, comfortable, clean, the hot tub and fire pit were a plus. So great to fall asleep to the sound of the river. We will be back.

  • Perfect quite location to escape the craziness of real life. Cabin is beautiful with plenty of room for a large group. We'll definitely be back again soon.

    Jason2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything exceeded our expectations! The access from 26 was convenient but it felt like no one else was around. The kitchen was extremely stocked with more than we'd ever need. The hottub was perfect for the chilly nights. Will definitely be returning as soon as possible.

    Kristin2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • I’m already looking forward to staying here again!

  • Great space. The river is beautiful. Hot tub and fire pit are the perfect amenities.

    Keith2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin exceeded out expectations, in every way. It was clean, spacious, and the hot tub next to the rushing river was sheer relaxation. We were able to make great meals, both on the outdoor grill and in the oven. The property owners don’t brag about how well stocked the kitchen is with equipment/pans/utensils, but it is. Being able to run our own music through the stereo system via Bluetooth was a nice touch. Definitely give this cabin a hard look. It is everything they advertise it to be.

    Shea2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The space is comfortable and in a beautiful setting. Four of us shared the cabin over the weekend and enjoyed the fire place, hot tub, and the proximity to Mt Hood. It really is a special place. Would recommend and hope to return one day!

"Glamping at its' best"! 16' x 16' TreeHouse, suspended between 3 large fir trees, queen size bed, loft w/2 twin beds, composting toilet, much more, situated on 20 acres with a pond. Gas heater, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot. IMPORTANT: this is a Tree House! Going up the spiral staircase is an adventure in itself, so pack small bags (or packs) (large suitcases are not appropriate). Be sure to look at the pictures & read our reviews... that provides the most information. Happy Travels!
Our Tree House sits on our 20-acre property at the base of Mt. Hood (about an hour east off downtown Portland - a great city to explore!). We are 30 minutes west of Ski Bowl and the Mt. Hood National Forrest. We are within 30-60 minutes of three Mt. Hood Ski areas. You will ascend a unique spiral staircase up to the Treehouse. The Treehouse is approximately 200 square feet, with an 8'x10' sleeping loft. The main floor has a queen bed, bistro table, reading chair, mini frig, coffee maker, microwave, composting toilet and cold water sink. There is a seating area below the Treehouse as well, so you can sit by a fire and enjoy the outdoors even if it is raining (a good thing in Oregon). Picnic table (not covered) and gas grill (in covered area) are available for your use. If you like camping or backpacking, you will love the treehouse. It is 'Glamping' (Glamorous Camping). If you prefer more amenities (like porcelain toilets and an indoor shower (but there is an OUTDOOR SHOWER with hot water! - *not available when temperatures are below 40 degrees), check out the guest cottage on our property, also listed on AirBnB). This is a unique property, please view "House Rules" prior to booking. This is NOT suitable for children under AGE 7, due to spiral staircase and ladder to the loft. The Magical Treehouse was featured on the BuzzFeed series "HomeBuddies." You can view the episode (and get a great idea of the property) by going to Youtube, use the search terms: "Buzzfeed Homebuddies "I lived in a treehouse". There are multiple episodes and the treehouse is episode 4. The Magical Treehouse was also featured on "TRIP101": Nine Treehouses in Oregon That You Should Book Now. Visit their website to read the article. PLEASE NOTE: Due to both demand and to ensure that each guest gets the full experience of being here (which can't be done in one night), the minimum two-night stay is non-negotiable.
The Neighborhood We are mid-way between Sandy and Welches on the flanks of Mt. Hood. We are six miles from town (Sandy) so it is quiet. Most neighbors have acreage properties. The area is forested and beautiful. There is another "Sweet Mountain Guest Cottage (also listed on AirBnB), a pond cottage(available by request only), and our personal home.
  • Amazing and peaceful getaway location. The treehouse was amazing. It was well laid out and clean. Perfect size for a couple or small family. The property was also amazing with lots of activities . Woody and Jessie are very friendly and like to keep you company. I would definitely recommend this location.

    Ruben2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing trip and visit! We had to cancel our second night due to COVID-19 and our hosts were generous and understanding. We worked together to make this possible. We will certainly be back for a full trip as soon as possible!

    Lucia2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This Treehouse is the real deal. We were excited to come check it out for months and it still outpaced our expectations. The hosts were absolutely lovely, easy to communicate with, and provided last minute recommendations about where to check out Mt Hood and do local hiking. The treehouse is an effortless combination of rustic and glamping. Bed is comfortable. You feel as though you are waking up inside the trees and the property is silent at night. There is a gorgeous pond on property with Salmon under the surface. Truly a special place. Lucky they are willing to share it with the world! They have two adorable dogs that accompany you throughout the day and two cats that followed us at night. Can’t speak highly enough of this place!

    Miranda2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay 👍👍

    Brian2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is spectacular! The treehouse was well thought out and is super cozy. Dave and Hollis have a fully stocked Keurig coffee station for your enjoyment as well! Nothing like waking up after the best rest you ever got in any one of the bed options to a quick make cup of coffee to enjoy while you cozy up in the breakfast nook with a fave book, feeling the peace of the forest wash over you. There's a special energy about sleeping in a tree, I must say – one I highly recommend. In addition to that awesomesauce, there is a pond and lots of outdoor games (bball, carpet ball, horseshoes, zip line, etc.) all waiting for you to come and play, PLUS 20 acres of forested trails to stroll. Please do consider the spiral staircase and tight quarters if ease of movement is a concern for you due to physical constraints (including firm sleeping surfaces for those with back support requirements). Various parts of this experience require a bit of limberness and adaptability. It's well worth it if you're able though.

    Heather2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is well worth the money. Whether you’re going for a romantic getaway, or a family outing, this place has it all. The property is amazing with a pond, walking trails and plenty of activities. Highly recommend this unique experience.

    Chris2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy little treehouse set in nature. Even in the end of oct it was kind of chilly but the heater kept us warm. Lots of activities to do in the summertime but we we were still able to feed the fish in the pond, played disc golf, hiked around the property and roasted marshmellows on the fire pit underneath the treehouse.

This lovely cottage is nestled next to the Mt. Hood National Forest and has a view of the Zig Zag River. Enjoy the hot tub, fire pit, beautiful kitchen, and wood stove at home; then go skiing, hiking, biking, or fishing within minutes! Sleeps 8-9.
The great room is a fabulous space for a large group or private weekend. You can watch the fire inside, watch the fire outside, watch your family in the hot tub, and listen to the Zig Zag River all while cooking dinner in the newly remodeled kitchen. Having the three bedrooms upstairs allows for night-owls to stay up downstairs while others turn in at night. The hot tub right outside the door means you won't have to tramp through feet of snow or mud to get there.
Listening to the Zig Zag River is the best part of the cottage, and you can even see it through the trees from the deck & firepit! The proximity to hiking and skiing is perfect, too!
  • Such a beautiful spot & they thought of everything! Highly recommend!

The Woodlands House sits on five acres of wooded property. It is a beautiful 3 bedroom home (plus kids room) with two outdoor decks surrounded by beautiful trees. It's perfect for getaways or a trip to the mountains, as it's a 25 min drive from Mount hood skiing, 15 minutes from hikes, and only 45 min from PDX. We take extreme pride in our cleaning and disinfecting practices. Please ask for a list of the specific precautions we are taking, if you have any concerns :)
Our home is a restful and relaxing space. The home is filled with vaulted ceilings and a wood-burning fire place on every level. We have furnished the home to feel like a mix of Scandinavian and Mid-Cenutry design, while at the same time having some fun and rustic cabin vibes. The large deck off the main level that overlooks a trickling stream, is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee and watch deer come to the water for a drink. The deck also features a large 6 person hot tub, that is perfect to soak your bones after a day of skiing or hiking.
The neighborhood is tree-filled and very rural, so you probably wont see neighbors as every one pretty much keeps to them selves. There is a chance you could hear some neighbors hanging outside if the weather is nice, but the trees keep the home very private.
  • Absolutely magical. The space is breathtaking - open & gorgeous while also cozy & inviting. Surrounded by large, lush trees - you feel completely nestled into the perfect forest oasis. Great for a weekend getaway with friends, loved ones, or even a small group retreat. We're so happy we stumbled upon this dream cabin & can't wait to return!

  • I walked in the door and let out a sigh so big I almost cried. The atmosphere of this place is pure relaxation, the whole place inviting you to sit and consider the trees and read a good book, and I can't wait to go back sometime. Thank you Rachel and Rico for sharing this beautiful space

    Joe2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • An ideal property for a cozy getaway. This property is incredibly versatile and can easily be enjoyed by friend for a gathering, an intimate getaway or families getting out of town. We traveled with our family of five and were impressed by the functional and stylish layout and decor and were pleasantly surprised to see it is much larger in person. It was the perfect spot for our family to enjoy the snowy backdrop while cooking, enjoying books and playing games. The hosts provide very detailed and accurate driving directions and helpful and clear notes about navigating the home. The home provides a warmth and beauty and is very comfortable. Hosts quickly respond to any inquiries. This property functions as an ideal Airbnb .

    Chelsea2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • One of my most favorite Airbnb stays! Hard to get away now that I have a toddler, but the house was completely baby proofed, which made the stay so relaxing! Styled SO well, and in the most beautiful PNW setting. There was a light dusting of snow when we woke up on our last morning, which made things even more magical!

  • This was a beautiful place to stay! We also wanted to extend for one more night on the morning we were supposed to leave, and they responded and made it possible immediately. Kitchen is absolutely beautiful and already has some spices in it!! Thank you!

  • Beautiful home with everything you need!! Kobe the kitchen especially and the outdoor fire pit. I would say the bbq is the only thing that probably needs a good cleaning on. Everything else was fantastic!

  • This house was amazing and great for our large party to get out of Portland for a weekend! The ample space and open floor plan was perfect for our needs, and the hot tub was lovely. We ended up not bringing kids on the trip, but I did notice it was pretty family-friendly with toys, pack and plays, etc available.

  • What a great location. This house is perfect for big families. A ton of open space on each level. The bathrooms are really nice and luxurious. The hottub was perfect for after a long day of skiing.

  • This house is perfect for a group getaway! There is so much space - the pictures don’t do it justice - and we had no issue fitting 12 people very comfortably. Enough seating at the dining room table, plenty of kitchen amenities to make meals for the group, and the sleeping arrangements were spread out. We never felt cramped here. We found the house plenty private - we are a large and rather loud bunch but felt just tucked away enough that we knew we weren’t bothering anyone. Everything was clean, worked well, and instructions were clear. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants a no-fuss (but lots of luxury touches) spot to unwind with a big group!
