“Barton Creek Square is an enclosed shopping mall located near the intersection of Texas State Highway Loop 1 and Texas State Highway Loop 360. You'll find Nordstom, Macy's and Dillards here among many other stores. At the time it was being permitted there was strong local opposition given its location on the environmentally sensitive Barton Creek Watershed Recharge Zone. The developers won out but the important environmental organization called Save Our Springs was formed from this early development fight.”
