BBQ Joint

“Aaron Franklin put Austin barbecue on the map. If you are only here for the weekend, waiting in line for Franklin's barbecue will take up all your morning. Bring your own chairs and cooler full of drinks and arrive at 7:30AM and order pounds of your favorite smoked meats. You will probably be served by 11AM-12PM and then you will need to nap for a few hours. It is worth it if you are here for barbecue.”

Japanese Restaurant
$$$
“The key to enjoying the exquisite sushi and dishes at finer dining Japanese restaurant Uchi is partaking in its stellar happy hour, aka the sake social. That’s when the notable restaurant serves up discounted nigiri, hand rolls, and other fun bites (think grilled escolar and sticky rice cakes). Again, Uchi doesn’t take reservations for the sake social, and the restaurant tends to get filled up fast during happy hour (it’s clear why), so get there right at 5 p.m. and grab a table stat.”
