We enjoyed our stay in this peaceful and friendly former farmhouse very much. It’s a great location, only a couple of minutes by bike, from the historic city of Xanten. The owner/host is very kind, helpful and she serves a great breakfast.

We are excited! Although it was decided on very short notice that I would not be alone but to arrive, as a couple, this was no problem at all. We were extremely courteous welcome. The "Tour de maison" was due to our desire not to go shopping quickly (it was already after half past eight), a little faster and anyway, we got all the information (including map), which were necessary in order to go shopping to know beautiful destinations to find restaurants with delicious dishes to be able to park our car in spite fair and to know the history of the house. In addition, were still in the case of the case of quite a lot of information. Our "accommodation" (double room with ensuite bathroom) was beautiful .... for a longer stay would certainly have been time to take advantage of the beautiful Bath so but it remained in the shower. Also in the kitchen we felt comfortable - everything you could need is usually present in multiple copies. To use the television, we are no longer come as yet provoked us the games more .... and the time was too short. We will come back .... and then with a little more time.

I had a great time in the farmhouse, the house is sympathetic, place was plenty. The car could park in front of the house, the bike in the hallway. Nice, quiet location, only a short distance you can hear the traffic on the country road with open windows - I've hardly noticed. On foot it is 15 minutes to the old town, with the bike well 5 minutes. To supermarket / bakery it is even shorter, as well as to the Rhine river. I did not miss anything in the large kitchen; If you like, you can take care of yourself. Great I found the info material about Xanten, which inspired to various enterprises. Cornelia was a great hostess, uncomplicated and communicative, and very accommodating at check-in and -out etc. Next time Xanten is the farmhouse for me clearly the first address.

This is not a sterile apartment, but a house with atmosphere, where there is everything you have at home may have forgotten. The hair on soap, tea, coffee to games and a really well-equipped kitchen. The hosts are warm and uncomplicated. I felt very comfortable and can only recommend the house.

That as the second time I stayed in BaurnHaus: nothing more to say. I was welcomed as nicely as the first time, and the place has remained as good. Thanks again :)

We enjoyed our long weekend in Xanten. The house was huge, clean and had everything we needed, including the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. It's an old farm, which made my husband feel right at home. My three-year-old loved the decorations and the books and games. If the weather would've been better, we would have spent more time in the spacious garden. The house is within walking distance of the city centre and a supermarket/bakery is less than 10 mins walk from the house. Or just use the bicycles. Cornelia was a great host and made us feel very welcome. She also had lots of tips for exploring the area.

We booked the accommodation as a group for a weekend and were positively surprised by the generosity of the rooms. The hostess has managed to preserve the character of the former farmhouse with cool ideas and make it as pleasant as possible for the guests. We found everything we needed (there was also a grill). The communication was very friendly and also a few tips for the leisure time in Xanten were given to us in advance. Xanten offers plenty of history also a great leisure center with water sports facilities.

Near Xanten a nice quiet spot to stay and close to cycling. We were received very nice and received several tips and biking handed.

What a delight to have stayed in such a beautiful little Gem! Overall we loved the fact that it was modern, clean and beautiful decorated and had everything we needed to feel at home. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and come back to this same spot. This is a 15 out 10 because of the extras – Dishwasher, Christmas decorations and cookies waiting for us, help and advice about our washing, the use of bikes - was so worth the effort to use Airbnb and would not have found this at any Hotel! Thank you to our Hostess! SATNAV and parking The house was easy to find with our SATNAV and there is safe parking on the premises. Accommodation Modern, looks like a new build with wooden floors, solid furniture and a beautiful coach/settee. Hostess even took the time to do a lovely Christmas arrangement - outside and inside - with candles and fresh tree branches. We could choose to watch TV, or board games and books to choose from! Heating The accommodation was warm and well insulated and we had to turn it down – it didn’t snow and it was still quite warm outside – snow was very late for Europe. Every radiator is adjustable and we could control the temperature easily. Kitchen Well equipped and had a dishwasher that was a big plus for us. Everything we needed to cook - tin foil and oven liner to use, coffee machine with coffee, dish-washing soap and vacuum cleaner. Bedroom Firm and comfortable mattress with enough bedding. There were enough space in the wardrobe and a place to leave our suitcases and hang our jackets and shoes. Bathroom Enough warm water and strong adjustable shower, enough towels for us to use and hand towels. Shopping and fuel Shop is across the street from the accommodation and within walking distance. Fuel stations were on the main road easily enough to find. Shops not open on Sunday except for some ones at fuel stations. Take-aways like pizza close by. To do There were bicycles available for us and actually used it more than driving – great bicycle paths and we could cycle to the Rheine that is less than 20 min from the accommodation. We also used the bikes to do sightseeing around the local attractions.

The location of the apartment is an ideal starting point to explore the city and further afield. We enjoyed wonderful biking (with weather conditions that were far better than the forecast) in the Lower Rhine. Michaela and her family were great hosts.

The central location was ideal for us. We could with the kids (2, 5 and 9) all within walking distance (APX, cathedral, harbor, mill, bakery). Especially enjoyed I have the first sunny days of spring in the conservatory.

Frank's apartment is absolutely ideal! so close to restaurants and the centre of town, and yet tucked away in a very quite and safe area...I heard only birds! the apartment itself is ground floor with a lovely garden view and is beautifully maintained and absolutely spotless. Wifi meant I could work happily and having a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge all to myself was quite frankly luxury compared to the expensive hotels I had been staying in and far below the standard of Franks. Frank was waiting for me on arrival and went far beyond the call of duty but driving with me to the nearby supermarket (to ease directions) and helped me buy all I needed for dinner - considering my german is next to zero, it was a lovely help! He and his wife live in the apartment upstairs and I had the lower apartment to myself. I highly recommend Franks. Thank you Frank!

I stayed in Mr. Frank's home for a One week business trip on Oct. It is a nice, big and clean home same as you see in photos. you will have big bedroom and dining room with nice view of garden and swimming pool. Bathroom is big and there is a separate toilet. Mr. Frank welcomed me on arrival and offered some fruits and foodstuff. He was really so kind that I felt like a gust in his home. He loves his cat too much. Train station is Ten minutes by walk and car park is available infront of house. It is located in a nice and calm area near to Wesel center. I really enjoyed from my stay and have a lovely friend as well. Would sudgest to travelers, hope they will enjoy too. Thanks Mahdi

Die Unterkunft ist sehr zu empfehlen. Sie hat eine super Lage, die Seen sind in einfach zu erreichen und Xanten sowie Römerpark sind nur eine kurze Autofahrt entfernt. Die Unterkunft ist eine schöne, geräumige Ferienwohnung in ruhiger Lage. Sie hat alles was man braucht. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können die Wohnung uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Het is een goed uitgerust appartement, netjes en ruim. De slaapbank maakt het ook geschikt voor drie gasten. Er is een uitgeruste keuken en prima badkamer. De eigenaars zijn heel vriendelijk en steeds beschikbaar voor vragen. Ze dringen zich evenwel niet op. De woning ligt aan een heel rustige straat, op amper enkele km van Xanten. Voor wie de regio Xanten wil verkennen is deze woning de ideale uitvalsbasis. We kunnen ze enkel aanbevelen en komen graag terug.

De locatie van het appartement was echt heel leuk, de meren kunnen in de kortst mogelijke tijd te bereiken en Xanten was slechts een klein eindje rijden. Birgit was een zeer flexibel zijn en inspelen gastvrouw. We voelden ons zeer comfortabel en zal zeker weer terugkomen!

Het is een prima appartement, netjes en schoon en voor 2 personen ruim genoeg. Een volledige keuken en badkamer. Eigenaars zijn uiterst vriendelijk, beschikbaar als er vragen zijn, maar dringen zich absoluut niet op. Het ligt goed, een paar km's van Xanten aan ene rustige strata in een mooie omgeving. Het enige dat ontbreekt is een tuin.

Es ist eine schöne, geräumige Ferienwohnung in ruhiger Lage. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

A lovely maisonette-style apartment in a quiet neighbourhood close to fields. We really enjoyed our stay here. Peter was super friendly and helpful and would always check in to make sure everything was ok. He also allowed our children to play in their garden with his dog which was very nice. The furniture, cutlery, crockery etc. are all of high quality, much better than in other Airbnb apartments that we stayed at. The window panes in the ground floor are covered with frosted glass window film for privacy reasons, so there isn't much of a view here. But on the first floor there is a nice terrace with a view and evening sun. Thank you Peter for being such a great host!

Would like to give a more positive review. The three positive points were: Peter's friendliness right after my booking; No noise at night; Clean linens. Otherwise I was unpleasantly surprised, how dirty the apartment and how extremely small the bathroom. In the bathroom no towel holder for large bathroom towels and hardly enough space to dry. The wipes for the kitchen and the floors were crumpled under the sink or in the bucket - both very dirty and bad smelling. Had to hand over and clean all floors. The carpets, of course, I could not clean - they did it very much. The smell in the house due to the lack of cleanliness is unpleasant, and also long air did not help. WLAN usually did not work.

Very nice hosts are truly concerned about the wellbeing of the guest. Great place to stay with lots of space and good facilities. The environment is very quiet and located right in the countryside. All TOP! Thank you, we had a good time.

Peters Ferienhaus im Grünen is a very special experience. Idyllically located and lovingly furnished, it offers enough space for recreation and yet you are in the city quickly. You have your own parking lot and we were allowed even with Peter's permission in his natural lake. We will be back definitely!

Peter is a wonderful host, very open, friendly and courteous. The accommodation is exactly as described and perfectly equipped. We have felt very comfortable and would have been very much longer. In this region, the guest of Peter is definitely always our first choice.

Beautiful house in a quiet neigbourhood. We had access to the gorgeous garden that you see in the photographs. The house is very well taken care of, with great attention to detail. Peter had left two champagne glasses with some bubbly, a very sweet gesture. The ground floor has a very well equipped kitchen and the living room. The bedroom, TV, sofabed and a fantastic terrace are upstairs. We were here with two adults, a young boy and a baby. Great for a small family, keeping in mind that to take the little kids to the toilet at night one must climb down the stairs. Peter was always very prompt in replying to any messages, and overall was an excellent host. We only met briefly as they were away on vacation as well, but next time we will be sure to have dinner together :-) Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Thorsten and his family's place! They are genuinely nice and friendly people, we couldn't feel more welcome! Also, they were very flexible with our arrival and departure times, which was highly appreciated. Their home is fantastic, with so many beautiful animals living the high life in their amazing garden! We loved that Thorsten took the time to show us around and tell us all about the animals. The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable! It was a great place to relax after the Halderpop festival, and to end our roadtrip in Germany. We took some time to visit Xanten which is a really beautiful city nearby, with a great italian restaurant (Teatro). I heartily recommend staying at Thorsten's place to anyone.

Also in winter times this is a fine place to be: this warm and comfortable apartment is a perfect starting point for running or walking trips through the fields or the forest. And after enjoying some outdoor exercise nothing tastes better than a Glühwein or a Kaffee mit Kuchen in one of the nearby country towns.

We had a really nice time at the farm of Thorsten, Sabine und Lenja. Nice people, they comfort us in every single way. We were their first guests, so that was special! The house is perfect. It is clean and modern. With a beautiful bathroom, relaxed bed, nice living room and a complete, modern kitchen. We did not miss anything. The farm is so much fun. They have donkeys, chickens, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, a zwein. Lenja likes to show you around. She fed the animals together with our daughter. Which smiled all day long. They have besides the animals, much to play in the yard. Like a swing, slide and a trampoline. Thorsten, Sabine and Lenja are very friendly and want to help you with everything. But they let you go ahead if you are looking for peace. The setting is lovely. The forest you find already at the end of the street. Xanten is a place in the neighbourhood that is very worth to visit. And you can also make beautiful walks, as soon as you walk out of the house. There are just a few hills, so for biking it is good too. The only thing you can find unfortunate at the place is that it has one bedroom. Maybe with two children a little tight, but because the farm has so many great things to offer, we would sleep with two children in the bedroom too. It’s big enough. And maybe in the summertime, it is possible to put a tent outside. That would be fun! We slept with our baby of 15 months and for her there were things in the house like a baby chair and a baby bed. In short; it’s a perfect location for a week or a weekend getaway. We live in Amsterdam and it is only two hours away by car and you find yourself abroad!

This place is amazing. It is very quiet and it is on a farm so you can pet the animals as well. My wife and I went for a nice walk through the country side and woods. We couldn't find anything to complain about the entire time.

We had a very relaxing stay at Thorsten's family's guest apartment! We biked in from Xanten (~10 km) along mostly flat bike trails and were welcomed by Thorsten's family. There was always someone there to help us with any questions - they're really friendly and communicative people. We even were offered fresh eggs! The other animals were always there to greet us on our walks through the property. ;) The apples from the trees were very tasty as well. About the apartment: It's just like in the pictures with nice floor heating, the temperature easy to regulate. We definitely will look to see if Thorsten's place is available next time we're in the area.

In het weekend, mijn vriend en ik trakteerden onszelf op een pauze op Thorsten en zijn vriendelijke familie. Wij - en ik denk dat zelfs onze hond - langer had kunnen blijven. Het appartement is goed uitgerust, tiptop onderhouden, het uitzicht vanuit de keuken prachtig en de douche een droom. Maar het hoogtepunt voor mij persoonlijk is de mooie tuin met de vrije uitloop kippen en eenden. Idyllisch, kan het niet zijn. Veel dank aan onze gastheren, we komen terug!

A stay in the Ruhr is always complex and stimulating. Here a holiday idyll (with a comprehensive feature set and all things of daily use) to discover and revitalize worn by ezinem charm which necessarily also a stay by the sea - at least atmospherically - implies involved in a real family garden, this very friendly and always talk open , as attentive as discreet hosts over three generations (a few flowers in the hallway! Another beer? buns on Sunday!) was a very pleasant surprise. What more do you want? Maybe extend the stay - which unfortunately did not work - or at least come back, we are very seriously involved in our plans for future travel with.

We spent two nights in Duisburg and felt from the beginning. The whole family greeted us very nice and the rooms are lovingly furnished and decorated and there is everything that you need during your stay - and even more :) We were more or less just there to sleep, but if you also have some time spend in the apartment or in the evening want to sit outside, you can do that very well, thanks to the quiet location. When we are next time to visit with my parents, we will definitely sleep there again! :)

Everything was great! We spent 21 nights at Tanja's place. We felt like home. Tanja and the family are super nice. Anything you need is there. I went with my wife and a one year old daughter. Tanja prepared everything for us before we arrived. She even managed to get us a highchair for the baby. Thanks so much Tanja. We really enjoyed our time there.

Je vindt hier alles wat je nodig hebt van koffie tot thee, handdoeken en zeep kortom super verblijven in het appartement van Kirsten en Wijnand. Enorm bedankt dat wij bij jullie mochten verblijven.

Es war ein richtig toller Aufenthalt bei dem einfach alles gestimmt hat. Kirstin ist sehr nett und hat uns sogar noch spät abends empfangen. Der Garten durch den man geht war wundervoll beleuchtet. In der Wohnung stand Wasser bereit für uns und alles war außerordentlich sauber. Das kleine Apartment ist mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet. Und der man schaut ganz wundervoll über Felder und in Bäume. Das Bad ist ein kleines Wellnesserlebnis. Wir waren mit unserem 16 Monate altem Kind da und die Wohnung passte perfekt für ein kleinen Raufbold und seine Eltern. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen!!!!

Thorsten's place is amazing. We greatly appreciated the small signs on the road helping direct us to the house. The apartment is very modern and amazingly clean. It is very large and would be great for a large family or several friends or even just a couple. Thorsten greeted us and showed us around, his wife invited us to help ourselves to the fresh cherries on the tree outside. My husband relaxed in the small backyard garden. We greatly enjoyed our 2 night stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. We would highly recommend staying here.

Het is een fantastische woning! Compleet ingericht van alle gemakken voorzien, zeer rustig gelegen, goede bedden. De woning is voorzien van beddengoed en handdoeken. Thorsten en zijn vrouw zijn erg vriendelijk en hulpvaardig, hout voor de openhaard werd direct verzorgd!! Zeker een plek om met plezier terug te komen!!

Wir haben mit einigen Freunden das Silvesterwochenende in der Unterkunft verbracht. Schon seit Jahren fahren wir regelmäßig zusammen weg und haben noch nie in einem so hervorragend ausgestatteten Ferienhaus gewohnt. In der Küche gab es absolut alles, was man so braucht - bis hin zum Waffeleisen. Der Ofen macht das Wohnzimmer unglaublich gemütlich und Thorsten hat uns netter Weise Brennholz zur Verfügung gestellt (wovon wir zugegebenermaßen ziemlich viel verbraucht haben :-D). Das Haus ist total idyllisch am wunderschönen Niederrhein gelegen und fußläufig gibt es ein Wald-/Moorgebiet mit Wanderwegen. Wir würden das Ferienhaus unbedingt weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne mal wieder!

Very nice place to stay, little farm with lot of animals - pony, goats, cats, emu...Spacious caravan was old, but clean. Family was nice and communicative.

The appartment was super! We asked to come the next day, but Tanja gave a quick confirmation and in this way we had a fantastic stay. the appartment was spacy, bright and very cosy "like-home" :) Tanja and Klaus are very charming and welcomed us very friendly. The helped us with a map of a nice walk in the neighbourhoud. Thanks for the nice weekend. Recommended!

We (4 adults) we felt welcome and at home and go for walks both in the open and the City tour and / or church attendance, it was a great starting point. The car was able to stand the whole time. In the kitchen you can comfortably talk with great views into nature. It was all there. Even fruit on the table and beer already in the refrigerator. Tanja is an incredibly nice and warm hostess and gave us great advice. Even for the migration during the drive home. The large walk around the lake (10 Km from Kevlar) was incredibly beautiful. Tanja and her husband Klaus are the best people in the world. We could every night, enjoy the outdoor terrace, where we equip even the heater !!! All one needs to find here. Fully equipped kitchen, great room, large bathroom and two toilets. !! Great hosts who do not have a problem with anything. There is nothing to criticize, recommend it to everyone. As a bonus, this is all for brutally low price !!! Thank you !!!

We were greeted very nicely and always had nice conversations with Catja. The Stallburschenzimmer offers a super mixture of calm and country house romance including morning wake by the cock. From here you can start beautiful bike tours or simply go through the beautiful landscape to the lake.

Beautiful estate, a warm welcome by Catja and their nice family, a cozy room (even with hot chocolate and gummy bears), great bathroom and kitchen. Country life with all you need. Highly recommended! We look forward to be back in Haldern to the next opportunity.

What a wonderful place. I have been to dozens of places with AirBnB and this one really stood out for it's friendliness and cosiness. Catja was very easy to communicate with beforehand and her and her family gave me a warm welcome into their home. Throughout my stay they were very generous and it very much felt like home. As they have stables one is in a wonderful environment surrounded by a whole variety of animals. The room itself is very cosy - I slept very well and there being a sink there meant that the bathroom being further away didn't pose a problem. I booked this place because I needed somewhere to stop in the area on a long cycling, now I would look to go back just to spend some time there. Very highly recommended.

My vriend and I enjoyed the stay at Catja's farm very much as it is a wonderful house in the forest. Our room was large with a comfortable bed and warm down blankets. Catja is an attentive host. She made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. What I liked best is the fact that our room was above the stables and the horses. Wonderful bathroom and a small kitchen. I would recomand staying at the farm in Spring or Summer, but it is also very beautiful here in the winter.

It is a beautiful spot in the woods, interesting with the horses and other animals. When you this love then this would be a very good b & b for you. Catja and their children are very open and hospitable, we enjoyed it. The room is clean and the breakfast was perfect. Catja thank you!

We had a spontaneous night at Catja and were directly inspired by the yard and the room - totally comfortable, individually and creatively! (You can learn a lot when it comes to remodeling ideas of Catja ;-) Right next to the room there was a small kitchen and the bathroom connects, you have everything you need there. First of all I recommend that you can at least halfway to chat in English, because Ward is still trying to learn German. It would be very helpful, When are the guests like that, too. For visitors to the fair in Dusseldorf suitable outstanding 1min. Walk to the bus stop line 906 4 stops to the U79 travels directly "on the dam" where the trade fair. 1min. walk to the bus station to get the bus 906th 4 stops to "Auf dem Damm" to catch the Metro U79 straight to the fair in Duesseldorf (Entry East).
