Are you looking for an authentic Costa Rica experience? Wildlife with your morning coffee? Secluded in the jungle, yet steps away from the beach and just minutes from town? Are you looking for a place to stay that is remote and amidst wildlife while not being trapped into having to rent an expensive vehicle or needing a four-wheel-drive? Our cabins are the perfect home base for all visitors: singles, couples, families, budget travelers, and digital nomads too!
The property is a private 1 acre rainforest oasis in the tight-knit, hidden jungle neighborhood of Playa Hermosa, located in the south Pacific zone, the Gateway to the Osa Peninsula. It is just a 10 minute walk (or a 3 minute drive) to Playa Hermosa, one of the most beautiful surfing beaches in Costa Rica: open to the public, popular with Ticos and visitors alike, and home to the famous Envision festival.
Cabañas Glo has easy access by car, bus or taxi. With a bus stop right at the bottom of the hill, the property is friendly to visitors without cars. And with locked gates and fences, the property offers protected parking for those who do bring a vehicle. 4WD (Four-wheel drive) is not needed to access the property!
Playa Hermosa is just 15 minutes' drive south of the popular hippie surf town of Dominical, and five minutes' drive north of Uvita - home to all the conveniences you need (supermarket, pharmacies, banks, cafes, restaurants and more), and also home to some of the best whale watching on Earth at the famous Marino Ballena National Park.
The beach at Playa Hermosa is ideal for all travelers, with lifeguards on duty. Unlike the beach in Marino Balllena, Playa Hermosa is free and open to the public. There is plenty of parking there with food trucks serving things like ceviche, snacks and beers. Never crowded, but always happening.
The property features two rental cabins, a caretaker house, hammocks, and a foot trail to a secluded creek with cooling pools. Fiber optic Wifi and antennas mean the whole property gets reliable high speed internet access. (Well most of the time. We are in the jungle!)

A lot of people come to Costa Rica for the wildlife only to discover that it’s not always easy to spot animals. that’s what made us fall in love with this place and why we’re excited to share it with you. We want you to know that the pictures you see here of animals were taken recently on the land.
Cabaña los monos:
"Cabaña Los Monos" is a special place because there are big mature Mamon trees growing next to the balcony. The trees draw not only monkeys, but also incredible bird varieties like toucan, cusinga, and Oro Pendula, (which especially love the giant mango tree at the rear of the property).
We call it cabaña los monos, because there’s a good chance you will have capuchin monkey families watching you watch them while drinking your morning coffee or afternoon beer. The cabaña is awesome for lying in bed at night and listening to crickets, frogs and nightime jungle life or just meditating on the rain hitting the roof with thunder in the sky. You will wake up to the calls of howler monkeys in the morning.
This cabaña is a classic hand-built wood cabin, screened in fully to allow all the sites and sounds of the jungle. The cabana features a fully stocked kitchen, a comfortable living room, a TV with an Amazon fire stick (ready to log into Netflix), two bedrooms, each with queen-size beds, and a private bath with hot water. The cabaña features a wraparound deck, and below the deck there are hammocks for monkey viewing and chilling. There is a full kitchen and access to laundry area which has a washer and gas dryer.
