Soak in the calm of Provence in an effortlessly stylish escape.

This house in the historic town center of Forcalquier is laid out as two apartment-style spaces across three levels, ready for friends, couples, or families as a perfect base to explore the Luberon and beyond.

While the bones of this house may go back centuries, it's been thoughtfully updated with all the creature comforts for a modern traveler. Enjoy what's truly timeless, without feeling lost in time.

The space
Head up to the first floor and you'll find the first apartment, which we lovingly refer to as 'Charlotte' (after Mme Perriand, the noted midcentury designer). Here you'll enjoy a spacious one bedroom suite with a Hay chaise longue and work desk, along with a full kitchen, dining area and bath.

Continue to the top two levels and you'll find the master apartment, 'Yves' (inspired by a certain flash of blue you may find...). This space is split between a master bedroom, bath, adjoining lounge (w/ pullout couch bed) and gym corner; and a rooftop kitchen, dining, and TV area with a large outdoor terrace overlooking the rooftops of Forcalquier and the foothills beyond.

Both kitchens are fully equipped and ready for cooking all of your farmers market bounty. They also include automatic espresso machines using beans from our favorite roasters in Marseille, Fellow kettles for brewing coffee or pourovers, and a playful mix of midcentury French and contemporary local ceramics and serving ware.

All bedrooms feature:
-Luxurious Kipli natural mattresses with percale cotton linens
-Bedside device chargers
-Personal desk (the upper bedroom includes an Apple display to connect your laptop to)
-Bang & Olufsen wireless speaker
-Provençal toiletries
-Hangers for storage
-Linen robes
-Unique art and posters from midcentury and contemporary artists who've lived and worked in the region

The house also includes:
-Fiber internet
-Samsung Serif televisions in each apartment (designed by France's own Rowan and Erwan Bouroullec)
-A Peloton for workouts (a true rarity in this country!)
-Refillable Aarke sparkling water bottles (in the upstairs kitchen)

Guest access
You'll have exclusive access to all living areas of the house across the two apartment-style spaces. On the ground level there is only a storage area, which will be blocked off.

In the kitchens you're welcome to use any equipment you wish and whatever pantry staples and spices you like, within reason (we simply ask you to restock something if you use most of it - many of which are available in bulk at Biocoop). There are also some honor bar spirits and aperitifs that will be available in the upper apartment.

Other things to note
From your home base at Les Apparts there are myriad opportunities to explore the Luberon and greater Provence, and we love to share inspiration for meals and day trips around the region.

Rafting in the Gorges du Verdon. Wine tastings with local producers. A boat ride to the secluded calanques of Marseille. Hiking the ochre canyons of Roussillon. Luxuriating over meals in the picturesque towns of Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Menerbes, and Gordes. Art and music programming in Aix-en-Provence, Lacoste, and beyond. Cycling adventures to Mont Ventoux. Antique hunting in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Winter day trips to ski the Alps. You name it, we’d love to help make your journey extraordinary.
