Located in a residential area walking distance from shopping and the beach. House is very cousy, and was able to sleep us (4) very comfortably. Good internet connectivity and internet TV selections. AC kept us cool in the Bajan heat. Almonds beach is less than 5 minutes away, and Port St. Charles and Port Ferdinand are within 10 minutes walking distance. Speightown has easy access to shopping for food and other goods that you might need. There is a Chefette near by that your kids (my kids) enjoyed eating some local 'fast food' Good snorkeling all around, and plenty of options to Jet Ski and other water sports. Mango tree in the back yard gave us treats each day.

Small comfortable little house, perfect for a family. The beach at Speightstown was wonderful, a five minute walk, and we even got to see a turtle. Bring your snorkeling equipment, because there is a lot to see in the water. We could also enjoy fresh mangoes every morning from the tree in the backyard. We had AC in every bedroom and it was very appreciated. The only thing that bothered us was that there is no drying machine. We had a wonderful time in Barbados and we recommend this place.

Linda and Katrina are great hosts. They are there if you need anything and they will answer your questions fast and accurately. The house has everything you need. The kitchen is fully furnished and the house is super clean. Beach is a 2-3 minutes walk from the house, nothing that will stop you from going. Beach is quiet and you will most probably be alone there unless it's high season. In May we pretty much had the beach for ourselves. Neighbors are quiet and very friendly. You will feel safe there if you bring kids. Make sure to check the GPS and add the adress to your adress book before driving there as adresses are a bit messed up making it a bit difficult to find (not the host fault) there are mangos in the backyard. A fish market is in town for you to get fresh fish. Try the Marlin, it is delicious. We were able to see turtles in Speightstown. Otherwize Dover/Worthing beach is great to swim with turtles at no fee. They will come to you and there are a lot of then. Bring your snorkel gear, you will be amazed by the marine life, we saw trunkfish, puffer fish, many angels/wrasses/parrot fishes. Plus you dont need to go far in the water but i believe you have to be an average swimmer at least as you wont touch the bottom of the water. There are green monkeys running around the neighbourhood so with a bit of luck you'll see them as well. Overall this is a great place, and great value for your money. You will not be disappointed:) we highly recommend

We have just returned from 3 weeks in Barbados - our first visit there. We are a British couple travelling with 3 children, aged 4, 6 and 8 years. We stayed at Linda's house in Speightstown for 11 nights, and then moved to another AirBnB in Rockley for the rest of the holiday, just to experience to different parts of the island. We had an amazing time in Speightstown, and specifically Linda's house. It was spacious enough for the 5 of us, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Location: it is just over 5 minutes' walk from a picture-postcard beach. With the kids this took us more like 10-15 minutes, but that's because they walk very slowly and enjoyed watching the monkeys/geckos, pointing out the pomegranate bush/coconut and mango trees, and so on! The house is on a residential estate, which is mainly local people living their lives, rather than a 'holiday home village'. The estate felt very safe and friendly - everyone we saw smiled and said hi. At no point did we feel like we couldn't leave all the doors and windows open, or let the children play in the garden or on the street. It's nice to live in a 'real' place rather than in a holiday village. Speightown has everything you could want, including supermarkets, fruit/veg vendors, bank, shops, cafes, and restaurants. We particularly recommend the Juice for Health kiosk, which does amazing fresh juice concoctions as well as delicious (and cheap) vegan burgers and roti. There's also a fab bakery opposite the Reefers and Wreckers dive shop, which does very tasty sweet treats. The house: really clean, really comfortable. Spacious. We appreciated the air con in the bedrooms, which we put on for an hour before bed each night, otherwise it was too hot to sleep. Personally we find air con too noisy to sleep with on, so when we headed to bed we switched over to the ceiling fans, but that's just our preference. The kitchen was well-equipped with good quality pots, pans, and everything else that you could need. We cooked our meals every day, so it was great to have things like weighing scales and measuring jugs, and the kind of things that you have at home but don't necessarily get in a rental. We really appreciated that there were some food-basics in the cupboards (things like herbs, spices, oil, vinegar, ketchup and salad dressing, chicken stock, chili sauce, even things like flour and rice). As I say, we cooked every day and being able to add some flavour to our meals was fantastic - without having to buy whole packets of herbs when we only need a pinch of things.) Despite the house being for 6 guests, there are only 4 chairs around the dining table. This was ok, as we were able to bring in one of the chairs from the outside dining table on the veranda. There were lots of board games, which was brilliant for keeping up occupied...

Linda always responds promptly and has great advice and recommendations about Barbados. Her daughter lives close by and is super helpful. It's nice and close to the Almond Beach which has great snorkelling opportunities. Lots of colourful fish and sea turtles to swim with. Speightstown and groceries were within a 10 minute walk and the bus was just a 3 min walk. Beautiful home and friendly location.
