Here, people call each other by their first names and you can hear fado (Portuguese traditional music) in every corner. Alfama is one of the most special neighborhoods in Europe and our apartment is here.
It is located in a building from the XVIII century, in the heart of Lisbon, north of Tagus River.With its alleys, narrow streets, stairways, tiny squares, churches, white houses with tile panels, Fado, grocery stores, our neighborhood is the authentic historical soul of Lisbon. Alfama is also known by the Popular Saints Festival, which occurs here, especially on the night of St. Anthony, on June 12.
Alfama is like a village within a big city where everybody knows each other. Even so, our building is not in the middle of Alfama, but at its entrance close to Santa Apolónia, where you can still feel its pulse but have some privacy.
The apartment, is small, has 30 squre meters, is on the 3rd floor, without lift, and its renovation works were completed by February 2013. We retained the majority of the features of the original house, adding a modern and practical décor. We included double-glazing that protects the house from any potential outside noise.
The apartment has natural light and a river view. It’s a cozy and charming apartment that includes one bedroom with a double bed, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room with a single bed. The kitchen has all the usual appliances and utensils. Towels and bed linen are included.
Located next to the Fado museum, the Pantheon and the flea market (feira da ladra, in Portuguese), this house is within walking distance from downtown. You are a stroll away from Praça do Comércio, Castle of São Jorge, as well as the beautiful viewpoints of Portas do Sol, Graça and Senhora do Monte and the legendary tram nº 28.
Served by several buses and 5 minutes away from the subway/train station of Stª Apolónia, our house has a convenient location.
According to Portuguese legislation, I'm required to provide some data about my guests to local authorities. Therefore, kindly fill-in the form I'll be sending to you or fill it during check-in.
This apartment is situated in residential building, so it is important to respect the neighbours and not make noise after 10 PM.
Check-in is after 15H00 (3PM), and check-out is before 12H00 (noon). In cases when we don't have guests before/after the booked period , check in/out could be flexible.
