The property is beautiful so it's a shame that it felt more like we were renting beds rather than an apartment, and that the facilities were randomly provided. I had read previous reviews which raised some issues, but assumed that things sometimes happen beyond an owner's control, whereas, the experience lead me to believe that the owner has chosen to provide the property as is - in which case they should say so on the listing so people aren't disappointed. Some of our issues (group of 11 people): Broken lightbulbs in the landing lights were a safety concern (someone had already mentioned a lack of lightbulbs in their review - so I was surprised to also have this happen - especially at night when kids have to visit the loo; no side lights in most rooms, so you have to have overhead light on; no bedside tables; no wardrobes!; door handle on the 1st floor bathroom fell off so the door couldn't be locked, no doors on some bedrooms - no privacy, therefore, with a house full; no door between the master bedroom and shower-room, so no privacy for those showering or those using the master bedroom; curtain rod hanging off in the dining room; not enough seating in the living room for 13 people, let alone the 11 that we were; only 2 teaspoons and 4 mugs; we had to search and enter a private closet to find towels; 1 key between 11 people!; the loo door latch leaving huge gap so everyone can see who is in there; the plug in the bathroom which couldn't be taken out, the top floor room with a blanket rather than a curtain across the window... it is really quite a list of things that are little details which everyone expects to have been thought about and not to have to do without, unless specifically told that the rooms come with a bed, and that's all. It could be such a nice place with a few home comforts - it is certainly large enough to accommodate more furniture and doors. That said, we slept well, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was otherwise well stocked with utensils - though a toaster would have been good. I understand a host can't always be available, but having to collect the key 5 minutes walk away with a suitcase isn't ideal - there are lots of shops really close by where you would hope he could forge a relationship to leave a key when necessary? The price was attractive enough to lower our expectations from 'home from home' to 'basic lodgings' but the lack of attention to detail for what anyone would commonly expect to find in a basic rental space meant we felt there was a fair bit to critique rather than to compliment. With some forewarning, we might not have cared about the lack of some of these.

This is the second time that I stayed in this nice place. It is in a quiet, beautiful part of The Hague. Close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Very easy to reach, very convenient for a family or a group of friends. I highly recommend it

The WiFi was pretty weak on the main floor in the living room, but it was strong in the bedrooms. When we arrived, there was wet laundry set out to dry all over the house, and the washing machine was still running. We couldn’t find clean, dry towels for awhile. Other than that, we had plenty of space and really enjoyed the patio.
