The space

El Pajar is a 150 year old house with pool which has been carefully restored and fully equipped with all the comforts to host up to 4 persons in two double bedrooms. Located between palm and olive trees in the center of Santa Lucia de Tirajana town in Gran Canaria, this is a site privileged by nature, where such beautiful environment blends its footpaths up to the top of the mountains and down through the valleys to the sea. El Pajar can be rented with 2 double bedrooms for 4 persons for 115€ per day or with 1 double bedroom for 2 persons for 85€ per day. If your are just two people just ask and we will give you a reduced price.
El Pajar was originally home of farmers who grew vegetables and fruit trees around it. The house was restored in 2006, when it was awarded opening license by the Canarian Tourist Board.
El Pajar has a typical canarian "patio" with a corridor around it, two double bedrooms, large bathroom with spacious shower, fully equipped kitchen, balcony with beautiful views and a large and cozy dinning/lounge area on the first floor.
El Pajar finds itself in Santa Lucia de Tirajana Municipality, 500 meters high, half way between the coast and the top mountains. It is an ideal place, not only to enjoy a tranquility environment, but also to set as a starting point for excursions to different places of interest in the island. Santa Lucia village is only 2 km away where you can find 6 restaurants, 1 supermarket, 3 corner-shops, 3 bakeries and beautiful streets to walk around.
For large groups or families, El Pajar can be rented together with "La Labranza" which can host up to 5 more persons. "La Labranza" has also two double bedrooms. Both cottages can host in total 8/9 people.

This place is idyllic. So quiet, so peaceful. Diego's done a cracking job restoring this old farmhouse. It's really tastefully done, and everything's easy and convenient. Diego pops round every couple of days with fresh towels, fresh bread, and a bit of gossip about the area if you fancy. It's so safe for kids, great stargazing at night, and views of the edge of the crater from the garden. And a lovely little pool for lounging after a day's walking in the area. Not a peep of cloud or wind the whole time. Couldn't be more different from the full-on coastal parts of the island. Thank you Diego!

Our stay was very good, cottage is in amazing quiet non-touristic place with great views and landscape around. Diego was very helpful and hospitable, great host! The only problem is that description of the house was not precise enough, we didn't expect that we need to share pool with other guests and that entrance to house and our outside relax area would be not isolated, on the path to the pool.

A perfect place to slow down and relax. Sorrounded by beautiful mountains and some palm trees and other local varieties; birds singing are the only thing you can listen when you wake up. The place, brand new rebuilt is clean and tidy. The pool is perfect and sunny. Diego very friendly and avalilable all the time.

Beautiful setting - a corner of paradise and perfect escape from a cold English winter. If you love the countryside and want a perfect base for walking and to live the outdoor life then this is for you. We got to love the little town of Santa Lucia too which is walkable in daylight

The location of this place is absolutely stunning - we had some great walks around the hills and the "barranco" (which translates as 'ravine', but that sounds a bit too scary!) and the little town of Santa Lucia, which is totally charming (bring a torch if you are planning on walking back from there at night!). We loved our stay in this very special place, and both Diego and his friend Paco who got us from the airport went out of their way to provide an excellent friendly service. The house has everything we needed and the bed was noticeably very comfortable. On a side note: when we booked, it wasn't clear in the listing that the pool area is shared with the other house mentioned (which is literally joined onto this one), and that if someone else is staying there at the same time as you, the outdoor area with the dining table and terrace won't be private. Just worth mentioning in case you want to be alone :) PS, a tip: for uniqueness, a look inside the castle-shaped museum in the town is WELL worth the 2 euro entrance fee. Apparently its opening times can be a little erratic. Try 11.30ish AM. You won't regret it!

We spent a bit over a week at Diego's secluded and quiet place in a beautiful mountain setting and didn't want to leave. It was a peaceful time in a very nice and comfortable house. Diego was waiting for us on arrival and stayed in touch to make sure that we could find the house and kindly showed us around explaining everything. Everything was just excellent. We'd love to come back.

¡Hi, I'm Diego! Having lived and worked in different places, I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing better than traveling and meeting people to have a comprehensive and objective view of what is happening around. One of the most important conclusions I have reached…
