A charmingly rustic home-stay with basic comforts expected by urban dwellers. Gaunap, a village inside Binsar wildlife sanctuary in Uttarakhand Himalayas, India is far away from the usual hustle-bustle of cities. No roads (yes, you have to trek 3 km to reach the village!) and poor mobile connectivity (perfect digital detox!) give you an opportunity to experience nature at its best.

The space
Far from the madding crowds of the bustling cities. Lots of nature all around you. Breathtaking vistas of the Himalayan peaks. Read a book or even write one. Watch the sunrise through the windows of your room. Wake up to the chirping of birds. Do some bird-watching. Mingle with the villagers. Visit the local school. Be charmed by the curious, twinkling eyes of the of the village kids. Try your hand at farming. Be pampered by the highly hospitable Bora family. Help them in the kitchen, if you please. Visit the Binsar zero-point to catch a glimpse of the famed view of the mountain ranges. Or walk up to the village temple to get the same view. Go on short hikes if you will. Or just chill.

Our recently renovated home-stay has 4 comfortable rooms with a western toilet (probably a basic amenity for a city dweller but a luxury in a remote village!) with a skylight roof

Please note that our tariff includes accommodation as well as breakfast, all meals, tea and snacks (MAP plan). It also includes meet-and-greet at Binsar TRH.

IMPORTANT: Note that the village is not connected by road. It is a 3 km downhill trek through the forest from Binsar KMVN TRH. Uphill on the way back. Since the trek is through a forest, the guests have to reach Binsar TRH before 4 pm, so that there is still light when they trek to the village.

Guest access
We have four private rooms with attached toilets. There is a common dining room too.

Other things to note
