Frans was great. Sent emails about arrival, graciously picked us up, (for small fee), was totallly flexible on pick up times, can leave bags, but check in is as described. Lovely and bright suite at rear of canal boat. You live on a boat :)

Frans is a warm, very responsive and a very nice non-intrusive but easily accessible host. He stays next door to the B&B and is just a shout away. The boat house of Frans was very lovely and is located in a very quiet place very away from the bustle of the city. It is perhaps a 10 minute walk from Ecuplein which is the tram and I think also the nearest bus stop. Frans offers pick up/drop from Ecuplein. Amsterdam Centraal is a 45 minute tram journey from Ecuplein. There is nice traditional windmill about 200 metres away from his place. I loved staying there. Thanks Frans.

My husband and I stayed at The Bed and Boat for 4 nights and all we can say is we wished we had booked to stay longer! Everything was as pictured and described and it was absolutely wonderful. The houseboat is located just 5 minutes by bike or a 10-15 walk to the Ecuplein Tram stop which is then just a short ride to Central Amsterdam. There is also a lovely tea 'huis' just down the laneway with amazing lattes and treats and shops that are close by to pick up food wine cheese etc for enjoying. The bikes provided were an added bonus both with large baskets to carry your personal items while riding. It is also a really easy ride into Central Amsterdam with locks provided to secure the bikes. We found it quite peaceful returning here each night after a day of travelling around Central Amsterdam and enjoyed the ducks and swans that came to visit the houseboat each day, we also saw wild parrots in the tree out back and took advantage of the chairs on the dock while enjoying some wine. We wouldn't change anything and would highly recommend the Bed and Boat to anyone! Note: The apartment is 2 levels with a spiral staircase to the lower level. Beware those with mobility issues.....I would hate anyone to be disappointed that I didn't mention this and booked the apt.

Great place and great hosts. Very quiet and secluded yet close to many amenities. All the space we needed and all the luxuries of home. Would recommend this place to anyone. A little hard to find for the first time getting there but with help from Frans and GPS we arrived just fine. 5-10 minute walk from the tram that goes right to the centre of Amsterdam. Just walk on and buy a ticket on the train and enjoy your day with a great place to stay afterwards. Also the two ducks that visit every morning are pretty cool too.
