Elsewhere you may find units-under-tall trees. Here you are INSIDE a horizontal tree, embraced 360 degrees by its low branches. Unrivalled Privacy & sense of Exclusiveness.
This is the only self-sustained Eco-Caravan directly on the sea-front, it is the closest to all beaches. You can walk to the rocky beach seafront in 2 minutes. Over 6 hectares of privacy at the wild beauty of Cabo Espichel.
The tree-caravan is part of a project which celebrates the poetry and philosophy of Portugal's famous poet: Fernando Pessoa and his pseudonym Alberto Caeiro. The love for nature which he expresses can be found in this lovely space which is in the middle of nature and directly on the sea front. We let nature speak for itself without the need for fancy adornments.
-You have your own rocky beach where you can let the waves crash over you in the rocky pools.
-Located INSIDE, not 'under' (giving you much more privacy) a rare centenary horizontally grown typically Portuguese pine tree. You have your own table, chairs and sun-deck from which you can view the sea and unforgettable sunsets. In the distance the Sintra mountains and the lights of the bay of Lisbon can be seen. The tree-caravan is tastefully decorated with distinctive wallpaper, real wood cladding and cork. It has all basic amenities, such as a 2-pit gas stove for cooking, a small fridge and your own sun-warmed outdoor shower. The (dry) compost toilet is shared.
-The tree-caravan is situated within 15.5 acres (6.3 hectare) of agricultural land which gives you unparalleled privacy and exclusiveness (you can see but you cannot be seen ... )
- You can walk to the seafront in two minutes or to 'Foz beach' in 15. The Village has a small supermarket, and a great bakery, a coffee/lunch place and a few restaurants. We have good contacts and are happy to advice you and book you a table.
Ask us about the good life and the answer is to stay here (and if you don't believe us: read the guest reviews!).
For more detail & practicalities:
-Merely 40 minutes from Lisbon. With your own car you would have greater autonomy which gives you the opportunity to explore the area really well.
However we also have a couple of bicycles available and upon request we can also pick you up from Santana if you take the 207 bus from Lisbon.
The entrance to the land is reached via a 3 km good dirt road from the village of Azoia on Cabo Espichel. Shout if you need help!
By foot, you can also exit the land at the bottom from where you reach the rock-pools and from where you start your walk to the beach.
Interaction with guests
We can give you all the necessary information on local restaurants and places to visit (please see references).
Nuno is extremely fond of the well known Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa and is happy to talk about his work (specially Alberto Caeiro, his pseudonym).
'We had a wonderful time! They truly turned this piece of earth into a paradise. The caravan had all you need, is very clean and super cozy. You are at your private beach in 5 minutes and can enjoy an awesome sunset! Nuno and Suze are great hosts and helped us with everything we needed to know. They even gave us the most delicious sweet potatos! It's a shame we could not stay longer, we'll come back for sure!'
