Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Self check-in/contactless entry. No tobacco products, e-cigarettes, or vaping inside the cabin. You must pick up after your dog. Only dogs are allowed (1-3 only). Don' let them destroy the furniture with mud & their claws, dig up the yard, etc. absolutely no food/stains on the couches. Look under the furniture, that’s where the crayons and socks went. No guests over and above those in the reservation. No other guests are allowed ever, unless prior notice given. Keep the gate closed.

The space
Always tell me if you are bringing dogs & how many!

The entire cabin is yours to enjoy—-2 bedrooms, 1 hide-a-bed in the living room, 2 televisions, porch, dining nook, living room, full kitchen, full bathroom, laundry room, deck, barbecue, and fire-pit. (In the past some reviewers have said the tap water smelled like eggs. We installed a new water system in January of 2021, and it appears the problem is gone for good.)

The dining area is a good place to use a lap top. But there is no “dedicated” work space or “official” desk.

The cabin is in the summer village of Golden Days, at Golden Days Beach. Our neighbourhood is very rural, quiet and peaceful. As you walk out the front door, you can exit our gate, walk around the corner, and see a beautiful view of Pigeon Lake. There, you will find our village’s boat launch. So if you love to boat, fish, waterski, para-sail or wind-surf, access to the water is quick and easy.

There is a playground nearby. With 5 to 10 year olds, it will take at least 10-15 minutes to walk there. There is a road, so you could drive to the playground easily and very quickly.

Our beach is Golden Days Beach and the playground is in Sandholm.

Our neighbourhood of Golden Days Beach is in between Sandholm/Argentia Beach/Mulhurst Bay to the east, and Vasa/Johnsonia/Itaska to the west.

IF YOU WANT TO BRING A BOAT———We are right next to the boat launch. It will take you two minutes to walk out the front door and down to the water. We do not have a dock. We used to share with our neighbour until they sold their cabin. We pull our boat in at the end of the day and take it back to the yard with us. You can picnic on the beach while water skiing etc., pull the boat up on shore, during that time and then push it back out for more water play. At the end of the day, load the boat up and bring it back to the yard. Again, we are a 2-MINUTE WALK away from the boat launch. Or, we can put in a temporary mooring buoy for your use, next to the boat launch, if you prefer.

The lawn gets mowed and the plants get watered on either Fridays and/or Sundays.

Pigeon Lake, Alberta, Canada

We are a 10 minute drive south from Thorsby, Alberta. Our location at Golden Days Beach is between Sandholm and Vasa. Our local, sandy beach is called Sandholm Beach. We are close to the hamlet of Sunnybrook, the town of Mulhurst, the town of Warburg and the town of Thorsby. Other towns, such as Calmar and Devon are 25 and 30 minutes away, respectively. Leduc is a 40 minute drive away. Please check out my guidebook. There is a lot of information there about restaurants, attractions and other amenities in the area.

During your stay
Don’t forget to take a look at my guidebook. There is lots of info on the best grocery stores, golf, restaurants and tourist spots.

I am a text away if you have questions about anything. But, if it’s very important, call instead. Or try both. After you successfully check-in, I will stop being on call. But I will check for messages from you periodically from there-on-in.

I have also included a binder on-site which will tell you anything you need to know or want to know, from house rules, to how to use some of the appliances & electronics, to a map of our local area and what to do see and do.
