We will be pleased to welcome you in our two apartments, made out of a recently restored old barn, located in a large farmstead dating back to 1600.

The space

The second apartment is called “Il Fienile” and it is located on the first floor. From its windows you will reach the hills running down to the river Arno. It is made of 2 double bedrooms, bathroom with shower, kitchen, a dining-sitting room and a solarium overlooking the swimming pool, for a number of 6 beds.

Guest access

The estate is surrounded by a huge garden with swimming pool, among the vineyards and olive trees which cover the hills around Fiesole, just a stone throw from the city centre of Florence.

The accomodation is loacted in a very lovely countryside between olive trees and vine grapes. Eugenio was a nice host and offered to help when needed. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this appartment.

Eugenio, his wife Claudia and their friend/assistant Alessandra were all so very lovely and helpful. They went out of their way to assist our family during our stay--I can highly recommend them as wonderful hosts. Between assisting with rides (thank you!), calling a doctor to make a house call, or just bringing over some treats, they helped make our stay feel like we were truly guests in their home. Great people---thank you so much!! The apartment was perfectly clean and having the washing machine was a huge convenience. We loved picking the apples and pears from the trees! One thing to consider--there are very steep stairs leading to the apartment, so if you have limited mobility or small children, perhaps request Eugenio's ground floor apartment.

Thank you so much! Come back anytime, the garden looks so empty without your children!

Our family had a great time staying in Compiobbi. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place and is surrounded by olive trees and grape vines. We also managed to catch site of a wild boar, deer and a peacock all close to where we were staying. We found the air conditioning was very useful in the heat of August. We also enjoyed the terrace and while we were there we were given an umbrella for additional shade when using the table and chairs. There was a place to park our car and we also found the train a very good way to visit Florence by parking in the station's free car park. Be aware that trains run once an hour and sometimes less. The apartment is one of three and they all share the communal gardens and swimming pool. The apartment ‘Il Fienile’ itself was spacious and clean. Eugenio kindly gave us a list of restaurants that he liked and we particularly enjoyed Artimide in Molino del Piano. La Torre in Pontassieve was also a great place to have pizza. He was a gracious host and keen to help. For travellers visiting in August be aware of the mosquitos which are particularly active at that time. Also we found many restaurants were closed for the holiday. There are some things travellers visiting should be aware of. The swimming pool is very small and turned out to be a temporary one that had been built in, which we didn’t expect. This meant it could be crowded if more than 4 people try to use it from the 3 apartments. The pool water seemed to be very cloudy and when something fell to the bottom it couldn't be seen even when wearing goggles. Also, some of the chairs by the pool were broken and need replacing. In the apartment, the shower cubicle also contained the toilet, which was unusual. The apartment was a barn conversion using cupboards and bookshelves instead of walls. Therefore there was minimal sound insulation between the bedrooms which could be an issue for some people who want privacy in their bedroom. The only issues we had with the apartment were with the water pressure occasionally dropping to the point when the toilet would not fill and the shower could not be used. We also found the water did not drain very well from the shower. Although we experienced a few issues, we had a great holiday and enjoyed staying at Eugenio's apartment.

Great location in beautiful countryside, although the walls in the apartment are thin. Easy and convenient for Florence by train.
