CORONA VIRUS UPDATE: Guests arriving from overseas should follow NZ Department of Health guidelines issued at Auckland International Airport upon your arrival and self-isolate.
Self-isolation means staying in your room as much as possible and not interacting too much with other guests.
It is safe for you to go into the garden or outside deck. It is ok to go for walks to parks and other nature attractions. It is ok to visit a store to pick up groceries for yourself.
You should avoid situations that could facilitate the transmission of the virus such as social gatherings and events where you come into contact with others; in particular child care/pre-school centres, primary and secondary schools (including staff and students), aged care, health care facilities, prisons, public gatherings.
You should not share dishes, drinking glasses, cups, eating utensils, towels, pillows or other items with others living here. After using these items, you should wash them thoroughly with soap and water, place them in the dishwasher for cleaning or wash them in our washing machine.
Practising good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against most viruses. You should:
• wash your hands frequently with soap and water, before and after eating, and after going to the toilet
• cover your cough and sneeze, dispose of tissues, and wash your hands
• avoid contact with others (stay more than 1.5 meters from people).

Vulnerable people, like those over the age of 70 with chronic disease, should cancel their booking stay somewhere else.
The following suggestions are offered to help pass the time:
• Keep in touch with family members and friends via telephone, email or social media.
• Learn about coronavirus and talk with others.
• Where possible, keep up normal daily routines, such as eating and exercise.
• Arrange to work from home.
• Do things that help you relax and use isolation as an opportunity to do activities you don’t usually have time for.

Where you’ll be

Auckland, New Zealand

Onehunga beach, Pah homestead cafe, Onehunga village, One Tree Hill and Cornwall parks all close by. Royal oak shopping mall is walking distance. Easy to get to the CBD.
The property is conveniently located between the city and the airport, among some of Onehunga's finer old homes
Onehunga is a suburb of Auckland City in New Zealand and the location of the Port of Onehunga, the city's small port on the Manukau Harbour. It is eight kilometres south of the city centre, close to the volcanic cone of Maungakiekie/One Tree Hill.
Onehunga stretches south from Royal Oak to the north shore of the Manukau Harbour. To the east are the areas of Orangaand Te Papapa; to the west, Hillsborough. On the southern shore of the Manukau Harbour, and linked to Onehunga by two bridges, is the suburb of Mangere Bridge.
While everyone is combing Queen Street for the latest and the greatest, the real Aucklanders have headed out to Onehunga to shop at the many outlet shops at Onehunga's Dress Mart Mall.
For committed foreshore walkers, on the low tide route, the distance between Blockhouse Bay and Onehunga is 9km and can be done in about four and a half hours.
You need to be self sufficient with gear and supplies - boots, warm clothing, wet weather gear, food and water.
Cafés are available at both ends.
There are numerous exits along the way if you change your mind.
Waikowhai (kowhai by the water) boasts the largest block of native forest left in Auckland city. Originally part of a grant to the Wesley Mission, the land was considered too infertile for farming, so was not cleared. The area was once extremely popular as a holiday spot. Large crowds flocked to the beach to camp, swim, boat and eat their fill of strawberries and cream - bought from the little tea kiosk Today, the forest hosts a valuable sample of Auckland’s original fauna and flora. In spring, the whole valley is ablaze with yellow flowering kowhai, and it is worth a visit to enjoy the antics of numerous tui, rosellas and the occasional kingfisher.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Kathy and David have lived in India for 6 years as missionaries and established the vibrant Door Church in Bangalore. In 2011, they moved from India to New Zealand and purchased the Presbyterian Church in Christchurch. The buildings had been badly damaged by the earthquakes, and they set about restoring the original church building, built in 1910, to its former glory. As well as running regular church services there from 2011 to 2015, they began offering unique accomodation to female only guests in the converted manse of the old church. In 2015 St John's Latimer Church in Christchurch aquired the church from David and Kathy and it has contined to experience dramatic growth ever since. David and Kathy then moved to Auckland NZ where they converted the historic 1890's mansion, Trafalgar House, into a unique Airbnb for girls. Over the next 6 years, as well as the Airbnb, they worked at establishing what is now the largest adult ballet school in New Zealand. During this time they also continued their missionary endeavours in India. David and Kathy are excited about the next chapter in their Airbnb journey with the historic former Sacred Heart Convent in Ballarat. The renovated nun's quarters serve as practical accommodation, a spiritual retreat, and continues David and Kathy's tradition of offering unique accommodation experiences for girls on solo travels. As well as utilising the Convent halls and classrooms as a dance and arts hub, David and Kathy will also offer the Convent Chapel to all believers who want to join them in non denominational worship services, Sundays 10am
