This is a great place to stay with a gang - plenty of room to spread out and feel at home in. We were there for a family reunion, 3 couples and a single, and we spent 4 days exploring the Adirondacks for the first time. It was wonderful to have Trout Pond as a home base, and we took advantage of the great supply of brochures and pamphlets describing where to go and what to see. Even though it rained a lot our group explored the Ausable Chasm, Lake Placid, Essex and Plattsburgh; also enjoyed golf one day and hiking three. We barbecued every night and found the kitchen wonderfully supplied with cooking tools and appliances. Sheila checked in every day to see if we needed anything and it was great to know she was available with advice and support. We also really appreciated the cider donuts and fresh apples she brought from the nearby farm. A very nice Airbnb, top notch hostess, great area to visit.

This was our first Airbnb experience and we were a bit apprehensive at the start. Renting this property was perfect right from the beginning and Shelia was in regular contact to answer any of our questions. The pictures online drew us to the house and showed its beautiful character, but I can promise you, once you are there it is 100 times better. Shelia thought of every little detail to make our stay perfect. The house is beautifully decorated inside and out. From each of the 3 large washrooms, to the 4 unique and beautiful bedrooms, to the spacious kitchen and multiple sitting areas, the inside was just perfect. Outside the porch had an abundance of sitting areas to sip coffee in the morning, watching the sun rise over the mountain. There was a gas fire pit in the front yard that was ideal, a new hot tub that was perfect to relax in as the sun set, and a new fire pit in the backyard. Not only was the house very spacious and beautifully decorated, it had everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was also extremely clean, inside and out. We had a full set of activities to do in the area: Lake Placid, Ausable Chasm, climbing Whiteface, and visiting Vermont. Our only regret of our 3-day stay was that we didn’t have a 4th to just relax in this beautiful home. We kept saying how perfect it would be in the winter – it’s such a cozy home! Since we have been home, we’ve been sharing our photos and raving out the house to everyone we know. We can’t recommend it enough and we also can’t wait to say here again! Thank you, Sheila for everything!!

The house was more then we asked for. Sheila is so attentive and helpful. The location of the property is ideal for anyone looking to be close to the Lake Placid area and Ausable. Enjoyed many days and nights just sitting on the porch relaxing, listening to the Yankee game on the radio, and watching the kids play in the yard. Oh and the hot tub is a huge plus, I believe we went in every night as a little night cap. We will be back and for a longer stay in the future as we easily could of stayed 2 weeks no problem. Big hit with the kids is the Wilmington beach and park area just 25 mins away.

Sheila and her hospitality should be the Gold Standard for AirBnB hosts. Throughout our entire stay, Sheila made my family and I feel welcomed. The house is very inviting and was perfect for our group of eight (four couples). There was plenty of space throughout the house and we never felt like we were on top of each other. The downstairs bathroom has a large shower and a large tub. There are also three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, both with showers, so if you have a large group there will be no issue as far as facilities. The house is beautifully decorated and has well manicured gardens, an incredible porch, an outdoor gas fireplace, cute ponds, and best of all - a giant jacuzzi. The location is in the Northern Adirondacks. There is a great day hike at Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain just a fifteen minute drive away. Ausable Chasm is also close and driving around you will find plenty of farms open for visits selling fresh produce. The house is also very accessible to Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, and even Montreal. Our entire group loved the place and are still talking about it. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family and hope we have another opportunity to stay with Sheila sometime in the near future.

Dhvani.. The review... A beautifully decorated house welcomed us with a box full of Donuts !!! A house with a very well manicured garden and a warm fireplace next to a cute pond with a running water fountain was a delight to our eyes & ears.. Colorful flowers all around us was the best part of starting our day every morning... The backyard of the house had a giant and modern Jacuzzi for all of us to relax after a long & tiring outing.. The place was freshly painted and each bedroom had its own unique style & class.. The house was well equipped with towels, kitchen amenities, and the basic bathroom toiletries.. The owner was kind and hospitable to pay us a friendly visit at our arrival & gave us a short tour of her gorgeous house... She was available at all times to answer our queries.. The house is 15 minutes drive to Ausable Chasm and 40 minutes from Main street, Lake Placid & Mirror Lake.. This place is an absolute must if you want your Lake Placid Holiday to be a perfect Vacation !!!

Accessible and communicative host. Accommodation and amenities as described - the house has everything you need. We wanted something central, in a quiet area where we could take our small dog and were not disappointed. Minor point; could be cleaner (we are neat freaks). Would stay here again.
