The space
The apartment is perfect for families and extended families. There is a large dining table to accommodate families, and plenty of seating space in the living room. Many characteristics of the original space have been preserved - marble floors, a large marble fireplace, tall arched windows in the front of the apartment and two small balconies in the back, bringing in lots of light. The apartment is on a street with small grocery stores, pastry shops, cafes, clothing stores, wine shops, and is across the street from a pizzeria for quick take-out meals. The local tourist office is open year-round. The town swimming pool is open during the summer. Places to Visit: Ponte del Diavolo or Devil's Bridge (Maddalena Bridge); Museum of the World War II Gothic Line, with tours of German bunkers; a monastery; the nearby towns Bagni di Lucca for thermal spas, Barga, a medieval town, and Lucca, a well-known Tuscan city surrounded by walls; Torre del Lago for summer opera and tours of Puccini's house.
