Our house is a house in transition, it has been a house for the fish industri and been used by fishermen and their families. Now we have renovate great parts of it to make it as genuine as possible but adds some more comfort then it was before.

The space

Two bedrooms apartment (and it is possible to add one extra bed ) with fantastic location when overlooking the harbor and mountains. Also optional to add a adjacent separate room.

Recently the apartment has been carefully renovated in order to maintain a sentiment of history. That is, supplementing the accommodations with modern comfort.
The kitchen is fully equipped with stovetops and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, juicer and dining table with four chairs.
The bathroom has underfloor heating and is tiled in classic style.
The master bedroom has a double bed 2*90 cm mattress with a very comfortable mattress (Medium soft in upper layer and quite firm in the core).
The second bedroom has a 120 cm mattress with a very comfortable mattress ( soft in upper layer and quite firm in the core).
Towels and linens are included.

FAQ:
Will I have the apartment to myself?
Yes, we shown how everything works, then you are left to your own devices.
Is the apartment available on date XX?
If the dates are free on the calendar, then the apartment is available.
Do you supply towels/bed linen?
We supply freshly laundered bed linen and towels.

Some things to know is that we have excellent tap water with fantastic taste and it is almost as cold as ice.
Pets are allowed in the house except for in beds/ sofas etc.
It is a old wooden house and it is a living enviroment so there is sounds now and then and if you are looking for a place that are totally quiet then this is the wrong place for you.

Nearby there are restaurants and cafés with a local touch. different opening hours during seasons.
Close to fishing, climbing, paddeling kayak, snorkeling, diving, art and galleries.
Enjoy the fantastic nights with northern lights (aurora borealis) in the winter season (september to april) and midnight sun in the summer.
The Lofoten beaches are probably the best in the country and may be in Europe with shinning white sand, the Rambergs Beach is one of the most famous beaches, thus its a little bit cold in the water.

The apartment is located in a house from 1930 - formerly used as a fish landing facility . Secondly as a home for the fishermen during storms and other bad weather a Rorbu.
Free parking available only 50 meters from the apartment. Bus stop right outside the house.

In the period between january to april there is plenty of snow and you can go skiing both down hill and cross country. Some times you are able to start a couple of weeks later and for the late period if you climb to the higher mountains there is snow in to the first part of the summer.
During the period from late april to october there is fantiastic oportunitys to hiking and go all trails and explore the fantasic mountains in Lofoten.
All year around there is good posibility to find and explore whales and orcas. You find several diffrent tours around Lofoten.
In the the area near by you find lots of See Eagles and seals.

Patrik has a beautiful place in lofoten, Very artistically furnished, very peaceful, overlooking the village with sea & mountains. It was our best 4 days stay in Norway.

Patrik and Lena's place is a dream vacation house. We initially wanted to stay only for 2 days, but extended to 3 because of the minimum stay requirement. And we're so happy to have done that. Those 3 days were some of the best of our month long vacation. The beautiful house is located in a great place and has amazing views. It can easily accomodate 3 people. 4 people if you don't mind the squeeze. Patrik had kindly ensured that the kitchen is stocked with basic supplies - oil, spices, pasta, coffee, sugar, honey etc. which helps a great deal if you're planning on doing some cooking. It's evident that the home has been refurbished with a lot of love and care. It's so much more than a regular 'Ikea house'. It was well decorated and very clean as well. We never got to meet Lena, but Patrik was extremely friendly and went out of his was to help us. Prompt from the time we contacted him regarding availability of the house, to keeping his word of showing us Lena's artwork and taking out time over a Sunday to give us tips and directions for our drive through Sweden. If Henningsvaer is part of your itinerary, it would be incomplete if you didn't stay here. If we go back to Lofoten, we'd definitely go back just to stay here. We loved every minute. :D

Me and my husband stayed one week in Henningsvaer. Patrik and Lena made us feel right at home and the appartment was just beautiful. The view on the mountains is just stunning (even more so after trying to climb them)... We were lucky to see the northen lights just from the livingroom. Which gave our stay a magical touch. Henningsvaer is a perfect spot to get around the Lofotenislands even by bus it is no problem at all. We would highly recommend this stay and are hoping to come back someday.

An excellent place to stay in Henningsvaer - and a great base from which to explore Lofoten. Really loved the hip authenticity of the space. Beautifully restored. We felt right at home - very comfortable. Great views too! And the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the aparment for 3 nights. We liked everything about it! Its in a very quiet area but there are plenty of little shops and resturants within a 10 minute walking distance. The view... the view from the apartment is stunning, it looks out over the small harbour with the mountains in the back. Henningvaer is a good central spot if you want to see the Lofoten. Patrik and Lena were very nice hosts.
