This single-level, rustic cottage provides easy access to a plethora of nature trails, open pastures, and a nearby river, perfect for hiking, fishing, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the wilderness. The open-concept design creates a spacious and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both relaxation and entertaining.

Come on in and make yourself at home! Just a short stroll, about 250 feet, and you'll find the beautiful West River. It's worth keeping in mind that sometimes, especially after a good rain or when the dam releases water, the river levels can go up and down. For a truly delightful and worry-free swimming experience, we highly recommend a quick 12-minute drive over to the Stratton Mountain snowmaking pond. Imagine crystal-clear waters and a lovely gentle slope – perfect for a refreshing dip and soaking up the sunshine!

Welcome to your own slice of Vermont paradise. This wonderful property boasts over 50 acres of gorgeous pastureland, lovingly cared for with hay harvests twice a year. You can take a lovely walk along our private access road, which meanders along the tree line and offers stunning views of the countryside – perfect for a leisurely time.

Our estate is naturally framed by the gentle flow of the West River, the charming Turkey Mountain Brook, and the scenic Route 30. We know you'll want your furry friends to enjoy the space too. While the town of Jamaica has a leash law, your pets are welcome to roam freely and happily within our expansive grounds. We hope you and your companions have a fantastic time exploring.

Outdoor Activities:

Safety Note: The river edge extends over 1/2 mile with rocky, slippery terrain. Please exercise caution and supervise children closely.

Alternative Swimming: For safer swimming, visit the nearby Stratton snowmaking pond with its warm, clean water and gradual beach.

Exploration: Enjoy natural wonders like Pikes Falls and Hamilton Falls, both located within the town of Jamaica.

Where I went to school: hard knocks
Domenic graduated from Green Mountain College in 1991 with a BS in Business Management. Grad school was the school of hard knocks touring the country visiting 48 states living out of a Subaru with two dogs (missed North Dakota and Hawaii). Returning to Vermont he began a wood manufacturing company Jamaica Cottage Shop. After 26 years the company was sold in 2021. Today you may see Domenic in the yard as he works extensively on building and supplying affordable homes to the local area. When Domenic is not planning his next cottage design, he can be found snowmobiling or four-wheeling out in the wilderness, following Phish, or enhancing his rustic homestead in Northern Maine. You may also see him swiftly depart the property at any hour as a first responder and firefighter, Domenic has been a volunteer member of the Jamaica Volunteer Fire and Rescue department since 2012.
