Despite being a stone’s throw away from the hot spots of north Goa, Summertime is an oasis of peace and serenity. Located in a quiet, green and forested area full of birdlife, the villa is a perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries. No matter where you are in the villa, the views are lush tropical gardens and the pools. It is a joy at any time of the day, whether you are waking up to the birdsong, feeling the breeze as you sit under a tree, or watch a koi fish jump up.
The space
A few years ago, our Summertime villa won the award for "Asia's Most Romantic Boutique Retreat", from World Boutique Hotel Awards (WBH) in London.
It was very rewarding to be recognized in this way as a very special place to stay, as a place that has character, an intimate feel and most importantly, a place that offers guests a unique experience.
All this was especially humbling as we are not professionally trained hoteliers or architects and Summertime is simply our personal idea of the perfect holiday home: relaxing from the moment you enter the gates but also sumptuously comfortable.
Located just a stone’s throw away from the popular Calangute and Candolim beaches, Summertime perches on a hilltop overlooking paddy fields and a lush tropical garden. Summertime is a rare villa which enjoys two acres of private gardens, shared with birds, butterflies and peace. There is a large infinity pool which overlooks the gardens and the valley, a waterfall and a koi pond.
Inside, a double height living-dining area is filled with light and breeze. The three generous master suites have large dressing areas, palatial bathrooms and choicest of furniture sourced from our travels to Bali and other places through India. Fully staffed with a cook, gardeners and security, Summertime is a perfect place for a family or a group of friends to relax and recharge their batteries.
Guest access
Summertime is set in two acres of landscaped gardens with an infinity pool, lounge pool, koi pond and waterfall. There is also an organic veg/herb garden across the road. All of this can be enjoyed by our guests.
Under the pool is a private apartment with its own entrance and garden. This area is clearly marked as private and we expect guests to respect this.
One of our staff members stays at villa at night for security purposes. He has a self contained room with ensuite bathroom just off the kitchen. We ask you to respect his privacy too.
Other things to note
It is very important for us that our guests understand and appreciate the character and location of our bungalow: it is a place for people who love nature, not party seekers. We do not allow loud music, drugs or outside visitors. If this appeals to you, then we would be delighted to welcome you at Summertime.
The villa is fully staffed with a cook, housekeeping staff, pool cleaner and gardener. All our staff live in cottages on our own property.
The services of the cook are complimentary. Guests can buy the groceries and food ingredients themselves (or our staff can do this on their behalf) and ask our Chef to prepare and cook the meals at no extra cost!
Summertime is entirely private. It is a two-acre property and the villa cannot be seen from the road.
If guests plan to work from home, Summertime offers free Wi-fi (with two high-speed internet connections) and a 24-hour power backup so that work won’t get interrupted!
There is a washing machine, iron and ironing board, which guests are free to use during their stay.
