This cozy hillside guest house (casita) is in a gated hide-away in a garden setting, only minutes from down-town Escazu' shops and hospitals. It's primary living space has a simple kitchen, a bed, and seating for four. Bathroom has shower and jacuzzi. Its big porch has amazing views of mountains above and the valley below.

The space

The guest house is on a terraced hillside in a private gated complex with a 2 acre botanical garden. It's big porch offers great views of the San Jose Central Valley, 2000 feet below, and of the volcanoes that ring the valley. Shopping and great restaurants are only minutes away in down-town Escazu.

Guest access

Guests have the stand-alone guest house to themselves, free parking, and access to the entire garden area and paths down to the river. An art studio is also accessible, with table and chairs, and outfitted with high-speed internet and computer.

Interaction with guests

A site manager is on-call to help with your needs. We (your hosts) are often in the USA, but love telling guests about places to visit in Costa Rica.

Other things to note

There are several families living in this small gated complex. We ask that privacy and good neighbour policies be respected. Pura Vida - this is a lovely place and with good neighbour policies in place we believe you and all other guests will enjoy it!

Great place close to the city but with enough separation (and plants/nature) to feel like a little bit of sanctuary out of the city.

Robert and Celia were great hosts. We got there late at night and they were very accommodating. The apartment was very clean, the king sized bed incredibly comfortable and was in a very safe area. It is centrally located and near the neighborhood of Escazu that has many restaurants and shops. The view from the porch overlooks San Jose and is beautiful, especially at night. Will definitely stay again when we return to San Jose

It was so great to stay here. I was in town to have my baby and be close to a hospital - but wanted to be far enough out of the city centre to be able to take long walks in the mountains and be away from traffic and noise. It was exactly what I wanted and completely as described. Great views from the guesthouse we loved spending time on the porch. Would definitely go back :)
