Other things to note
Important about cell phone signal: The signal from the carriers is quite limited in Caraíva. The Vivo operator usually offers the best coverage, but the service can still be unstable at times. Take this opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the tranquility of the place!

Ecoticket: When arriving in Caraíva, it is essential to pay the Ecoticket. This amount helps preserve the village, especially in caring for garbage and maintaining our incredible natural surroundings. Your contribution makes all the difference!

Energy Use: Energy demand here is high, so we ask that you help by saving. Remember to turn off the air-conditioning when you leave. If it is left on, an extra fee will be charged.

Water and Electricity Supply: As we are in a region with high energy demand and subject to weather conditions, power outages can occur. In some cases, this can also affect the water supply. No worries! It's a perfect opportunity to disconnect and enjoy candlelit moments, which only adds to the charm of being in Caraíva.

Housekeeping: Housekeeping is performed every other day (every other day) to ensure your space is always comfortable and pleasant.

We do not offer breakfast. A kitchen is available for guests to prepare their meals. There are also bakeries, markets and restaurants very close to our place.

Neighbourhood highlights

The Xandó district, also known as a part of Caraíva in southern Bahia, is a place of extreme natural beauty and rich cultural history. Located near the indigenous reserves and the Monte Pascoal National Park, Xandó is located in an area that houses one of the oldest villages in Brazil, the village of Barra Velha dos Pataxós, located about 6 km from Caraíva. This region has been the home of the Pataxós for centuries, preserving traditions such as the artisanal manufacture of flour and the production of handicrafts, which is one of the main sources of income for the local indigenous community.

Monte Pascoal, visible from the coast of Caraíva, was the first spot sighted by Europeans on arrival in Brazil in 1500, and today it is a cultural and ecological landmark, protected within the national park. The park is an important area of environmental preservation, covering rainforest and native fauna, which contributes to the uniqueness and richness of the place.

The Pataxó handicraft is particularly notable, being produced with sustainable materials and inspired by the rich indigenous culture. Visitors can find necklaces, bracelets, and other items made with local seeds and woods, which not only enchant the beauty but also carry deep cultural symbolisms
