Delightfully private, spacious 2-story suite with private entrance & rooftop deck on edge of a field with powerful view of Guardian Mountain. Upstairs: king-size bed, bathroom with tub & shower, and roof deck! Downstairs: queen futon, kitchenette. Easily accommodates 4.
If you would like us to make up the futon downstairs for sleeping please let us know. We ask a one-time fee of $25 to make up the futon -- unless you are already paying the $45/night fee as an additional guest.
This space really has options! A beautiful downstairs room, large enough to be kitchen, dining room and living room -- and even a bedroom if you open up the futon. Upstairs is cozy with a king-size bed and a full bathroom -- plus a door leading out to a deck.
Please note that the kitchen is designed for light-weight food prep! Here is what it contains: a coffeemaker, a toaster oven, a hot plate and kettle, and a refrigerator. Plus a large sink. There are dishes. It works great for breakfast and light meals.
You will be able to let yourselves in through the private entrance, a sliding glass door that takes you straight into the living room downstairs.
Interaction with guests
We try to meet every guest in person, and to be always available by text/phone.
Other things to note
This is a great quiet spot on the edge of a field but steps away from the center of Woodstock.
There are several places within a stone's throw that are popular with guests: The Station is a lovely cozy artisan-beer bar housed in an old train station; Nancy's serves ice cream made on the spot; Euphoria Yoga offers regular classes and for anyone who loves indie film we are steps away from Upstate Films -- housed in what was once a church -- a true piece of authentic Woodstock.
* no shoes!
* no garbage in outdoor trash cans (it attracts devilish raccoons and feisty bears)
* treat our space as if it belonged to a good friend
* read the blue card on the table with a few more details on how to be comfortable in the cottage
Although your space is completely private, it is part of our home. We consider you our guests and we will do all we can to make you comfortable. We ask for the same kindness and respect. Please treat the space gently and leave it in the condition in which you found it.
In addition, please: no smoking, open flames, or pets. Thank you!
Fred and I are both writers and artists. Together we facilitate a program we call Authentic Writing, offering weekly groups in our Woodstock home as well as gatherings in Manhattan and further afield. We both love the town and community of Woodstock and look forward to sharing it with others!
