Woodbury Farm Cottages - Tawny and Kestrel are 2 miles from the riverside town of Dartmouth. You’ll be in a quiet and peaceful, rural setting, but still very close to everything. There are a variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops.
Tawny and Kestrel cottage both sleep six, with two kingsize beds, one en-suite and a twin room sharing the family bathroom. Upstairs is the open plan-living, dining, kitchen area with vaulted ceiling, giving a light and airy space great for relaxing in.

The space
We have two cottages, both sleeping 6, Tawny and Kestrel, ideal for two families or friends holidaying together. The cottages are part of a grade II listed barn, converted to retain the original features and roof trusses with vaulted ceilings. The windows have all been placed in the original openings, so each cottage is unique. Much of our furniture has been up-cycled and hand painted. The 3 bedrooms are on the ground floor with an open-plan living, kitchen, dining area on the first floor. The wood burner is perfect for warm cosy relaxing evenings. Quality white bed linen, towels, pillows and duvets are provided. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses, kettle, toaster, fridge with small freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is a washing machine in a separate utility room. We have a covered play barn with ball games for children. Great to keep them amused and if it rains. There is a barbecue available for each cottage. We are 10 minutes drive from Britannia Royal Naval College, families often stay when they are attending Passout Parades.
If you need anything or directions just ask and we’ll try our best to assist. The farm is our home too and we want you to feel welcome and have a great holiday.

Guest access
There’s plenty of parking in the yard and a seating area outside the cottage. Why not wander in our orchard paddock, the grass has been left long to attract wildlife, sit quietly and see what appears. You’re welcome to pick apples. If you’d like to meet our horses in the stables or feed our chickens please ask.

Other things to note
Woodbury Farm Cottages, Tawny and Kestrel are part of a converted barn set in a courtyard of buildings along with our grade 2 listed farmhouse. They were once used as cow sheds on the former dairy farm. We have plans to convert an adjoining barn, which was once stables into another cottage. There are other farm sheds used for storage of machinery and hay. This is a rustic setting with free range chickens and our horses. The track leading down is bumpy so please drive slowly and beware of free range chickens in the yard.

Tawny Cottage is a barn conversion on our farm. Woodbury Farm Cottages are just off the A3122 10 minutes drive from Dartmouth. There are two cottages Tawny and Kestrel both sleep 6, ideal for large family get togethers. If Tawny is booked have a look at kestrelwoodburyfarmcottages (Airbnb).
We are 10 minutes drive from Dartmouth, a historic riverside town with plenty of cafes, pubs, restaurants, galleries and shops. Also home to the famous Britannia Royal Naval College.
You can take the ferry to Dartmouth Castle, a boat up the river to Dittisham or trip on the steam train, which leaves from Kingswear.
Our local beaches are award winning Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands which stretches for 3 miles, within South Devon’s area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
For keen walkers there is a bridle path just across the road, this leads down to Old Mill Creek and then into Raleigh Estate, with woodland trails.
Although just off the main road, this is a quiet, peaceful rural location where you can sit and relax or pick apples in our Orchard paddock. Maybe you’d like to help feed our chickens or meet our horses.

We have lived here for 10 years and have been busy renovating the farmhouse and converting the barns into lovely holiday cottages. We are so excited to share our small piece of the South Hams with you. It’s also home to our 2 horses, 7 chickens and our cat Bella. All very friendly too. Recommend you try our free range eggs, first 6 complementary. I’m a keen rider and you’ll often see me going for a hack on my horse Billy.
