Casa Carolinda is a cozy gem of a "villista" in the Abruzzi Mountains, two hours east of Rome, one hour from Pescara and the Adriatic Sea, one half-hour from medieval Lake Scanno, one half-hour from Rocarosso Sking, and five minutes from Sulmona.
Casa Carolinda is attractive, neat, clean, comfortable, with t.v., wifi, open concept, loft with a stained glass wall loved by children or adults, matrimonial bedroom, and single bedroom. It is bordered by a cobblestone path on one side and the balcony on the other side overlooks a cobblestone street where one of the two Introdacqua bands often march by. Friendly neighbors and village folk make their own wine, tomato sauce, olive oil, cappucino and more. It is off the beaton tourist track, where you get to see how Italians live. Hang out in the two coffee shops, beautiful churches, two great restaurants with reasonable prices, and relax and enjoy. "Buon Giorno" and "Bueno Notte" open many a conversation! The village appreciates Americans and other Europeans. Frequent the Thursday morning "mercado" and the Wednesday and Saturday ones in nearby Sulmona for fresh foods of a great variety, bargain clothing of the newest fashions, and hanging out in the cappucino/wine bars. All of the restaurants in Sulmona are also great.
Make yourself at home in Casa Carolinda. You will have everything you need in mia casa and in Introdacqua.....all within 2-10 minutes walk!
Interaction with guests
You can reach me at (email hidden). I can mail you a key, and your guardian angels will be Maria and Peppino di Benedetto on Via Tripoli 16. They have a key as well, and are eager to help you with anything you need or have a question about. Do not leave your key in the door lock inside, or you cannot get back in!!!
Other things to note
Roads are easy to drive on. From Rome, Autostradde 1, direction Naples, and then 24/25 direction L'Aquila and then Pescara/Sulmona/Introdaqua. From Pescara, Highway 17.
From the Introdacqua Welcome sign, drive straight through the tree-lined street, up the hill, to 17 Vicolo San Rocco, "Carol's casa" to the locals.
Being friendly brings friendliness in return, and be gentle with the furnishings. Mainly, enjoy!!!!
