Private, self contained cabin with convenient access to the beautiful Huon Valley, Cygnet (5 min), Bruny Island & Hobart (45 min), Hartz Mountain National Park & World Heritage Area (1 hr). Bush surrounds, stunning views of the Huon River & Hartz mountains. Beaches, bushwalking, markets, relax by the fire or on the deck & admire the view. Fat Pig Farm is a few mins drive or 45 mins walk, Cygnet market 1st & 3rd Sunday of the mth, Huon Farmers Market every Sat, except some of the winter mnths.
Bright, airy and roomy inside with double doors opening onto the deck. Freshly painted, new bathroom, wood fire set & ready to go, new kitchen with a microwave, induction cooktops, bench-top oven and barbeque outside seating area adjacent to the studio for your use.
Kids are welcome, in addition to the single bed, we can supply a porta-cot or a mattress on the floor and extra bedding. Just let us know what you need.
There is a full size tv and dvd player with dvd selection. A separate area has a single bed and although it is not an enclosed room, it is private from the main area and can be screened for extra privacy.
We have super fast NBN for all your internet needs and excellent mobile phone reception.
The studio is private and separate from the main house, has an endless wood supply for the wood heater on those cooler nights or an electric heater for instant warmth. The old apple boxes outside the deck will have something fresh growing for you to pick to eat - unless the possums have been!
Wander around the garden, walk to the river; or relax and enjoy the view!
Full access to the studio and outside garden and 18 acres of bush. You are welcome to drop into the house should you have any questions. We are always available and happy to help.
You are welcome to any fresh produce we may have available from our garden and eggs from the chooks. We'll ask if you'd like something or just let us know or we'd love to share what's available.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to help with questions, recommendations etc. Our friendly dog, Tess, will also like to interact with you and loves to stand on the deck to say good morning - please let us know if this doesn't suit you. She is very polite and won't come in to the cabin. She loves, kids, adults and other dogs.
There is a range of brochures for nearby attractions and a manual to help with all you need to know about the studio and for local services and eating options.
We respect your privacy and will interact as much or as little as you'd like. We want your stay to be all you hoped for!
Other things to note
We provide a range of breakfast cereals, tea selection, fresh coffee beans, grinder and stove top coffee maker, or instant coffee. We also provide long life milk, olive oil, salt & pepper, soap, shampoo & conditioner. The nearest shop is 6.5 kms away for your own supplies.
We have solar hot water and rainwater tanks for your personal use. Thank you for using wisely.
The fire is a wood heater and is very efficient. Let us know if you need to know how the vents work. Alternatively, there is also an electric heater to warm you up.
On a sunny day, the sun will adequately warm the cabin and you might find you won't need any heating till later in the day.
A washing machine, laundry detergent and fabric conditioner are provided.
We supply information about where to go to eat and play nearby and for your general information.

Smoking is allowed outside.
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
Please separate your rubbish and use the recycle bin provided.
We are a family of three, with a dog and 9 chooks. We adore our property and surrounds here in Southern Tasmania and are lucky to be part of a creative and dynamic wider Cygnet community. Phil's a big reader and published writer, I am generally busy in the garden with Tess, our dog and our daughter is a keen drama student with a passion for soccer. We love meeting new people and we find hosting to be lots of fun.
