Cozy Bear Hollow is just 2 minutes from Mariposa, the "Gateway to Yosemite." Two Bedrooms, a cozy living room, full kitchen, two bathrooms, and a hot tub under the trees, it sleeps 4 or more. Relax here after a busy day in Yosemite.
Grace Oak's Cozy Bear Hollow is a lovely little home for your retreat or getaway. Nestled in mountains, just a mile and a half from Mariposa, 'The Gateway to Yosemite,' and decorated with the theme of the wildlife that roam nearby, you'll enjoy coming home to this retreat after a day in Yosemite, or Historic Mariposa. The home features a hot tub, deck, fire circle, TV, Books, Wifi, a fully functional kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. Nearby Mariposa and other historic towns like Coulterville, Hornitos, Bear Valley, the Mariposa Museum, and the State Mineral Exhibit are fun to explore. In the summer the town is alive with tourists, weekend 'Music on the Green' featuring local artists in a lovely park setting, occasional open air movies on the park lawn. A fun time to visit is in the spring, when the falls in Yosemite are running. Mariposa has it's butterfly festival, and parade (usually the first weekend in May.) The poppies in the Briceburg canyon are breath-taking. Fall is also wonderful; Starting with the Labor Day Parade and old fashioned Mariposa County Fair. I love the colors that come with the changing of the leaves, and the crisp air. Winter is great, especially if we have a few snows! The Mariposa Christmas parade is usually the first weekend in December, as is the annual Christmas Craft fair. Yosemite offers some fun activities at the Ahwanee, as well as ice skating, and skiing in the village, or it's always fun to drive there to see the Lord's majestic Creation. It's also fun to just relax at Grace Oak's Cozy Hollow... away from the hustle and bustle...sit on the porch and watch for deer, (which I see here everyday) wild turkeys, quail,& rabbits, while you enjoy a good book...
( and I just saw a coyote there today.) Roast marshmellows around our gas fire pit, or hang out under the stars in our Hot tub. Nothing beats a family Christmas away from the city. Get away and remember what a simple quiet CHRISTmas is really all about. You can't beat the price... two bedrooms, a gathering room and a kitchen for the same price of one little stuffy hotel room. What do you have to lose?. ;)
We have Dish Network, WIFI, pool table, games, washer/dryer, refrigerator, coffee maker, waffle maker, griddle, oven, toaster, crock pot, and many other conveniences.
Interaction with guests
We are not far away if you need anything, but we try to honor your privacy.
Other things to note
Grace Oak's Cozy Hollow is just down the hill from Grace Oaks Vacation retreat.
Cleaners come in before your stay, and change sheets, put out a towel for each guest, mop, vacuum, clean the hot tub, etc..but they are not expected to wash your dishes, or pick up messes. Games are provided, but guests must put all pieces back. Basically, put things back where you got them from, so the next guest will be able to use them, and the cleaners won't think you took them during inventory.
There is a county ordained 'quiet period' between the hours of 10pm and 8 am. Everyone is asked keep noise at a minimum (no loud chatter, or outside music) to show courtesy, and respect the privacy of the neighbors. Our home is intended for family fellowship after touring. Partying, drunkeness, and illegal drug use are not allowed.
Children must be supervised at all times. There are cleaners, electric outlets, stairways, a hot tub, and many other dangers to children.
Pets must be preapproved, on a leash when in the house, and crated when not within your direct line of vision.
Until confirmed, rates are subject to change.
Because of low pricing during "off season" (Sept 15 thru April 15) hot tubs will only be running during peak season. Peak Season months are April 15 through Sept 15. If you have your heart set on enjoying the hot tub during the 'off season,' let us know, and for $25 we can fill and turn on the hot tub, 24 hours prior to your arrival. Although we put a toilet paper in each bathroom, Consumables, such as paper products, coffee, soaps, propane, etc..are not provided.

In addition, we ask that you put away anything you used in the place from whence you got it. (Games. Blankets, kitchen appliances, etc) Do not move the furniture. I could tell you a crazy story about that. lol If we have to hire some strong young men to put furniture back, it. will come out of the damage deposit. Wash and put away your own dishes. In regards to linens, it is difficult to get them all washed and dried before the next group arrives. Please leave used beds UNMADE, and put the towels you used in the washer and turn it on.
Guests must bring signed contract with them, or Docusign before arrival.
This is a privately owned home. Home owners cannot be responsible for any death or injury to guests during their stay.

I am a Christian mother of 7 and grandmother of 12. My husband proposed to me 41 years ago, and we are still very happily married. It has been a dream of mine for many years to host a vacation home. I have worked for other vacation homes and a Bed and Breakfast, and looked forward to the day that I could buy my own.
