Characteristic half-timbered detached cottage for 4-6 people, with roof terrace and sunny garden connected to a crystal-clear stream. In the middle of the Unesco Biosphere Pfalzerwoud. From your frontdoor into nature!

The space

In the middle of the nature of the Palatinate Forest.
The original cottage is probably over 300 years old, where the base is made of sandstone. These stones were taken by the villagers from the castle of Elmstein. Because the house is so old you have to deal with low ceilings (living room 2.10). The old wooden beams are made visible again, the half-timbered has been restored on the inside and there is totally renewed bathroom (shower has a raised ceiling)
You have access to the garden through the kitchen and also through an private alley at the side of the house. The garden is connected to a shallow, clear stream. In the garden and on the roof-terrace the sun can be fully enjoyed. On cold days is the wood stove a very nice addition tho the living room.

Guest access

The cottage has the following areas:
Hall with access to living room and kitchen
Living room connected to the dining room.
Behind the dining room there is a bedroom with two beds (200x100)
Through the hall you go to the 1st floor with large landing with a sleeping couch, bathroom with toilet, sink and shower and the second bedroom with one bed (200x140)
By a steep ladder the open sleeping loft is reached. Two beds (90x200)
Beside the house is a corridor with access to the basement where bicycles can be accommodated.

Interaction with guests

The entire house is at your disposal. The basement area has not been renovated yet, but can be used for (bicycle) storage.
We live a half hour drive away, but are at your disposal for any questions.

We (two adults, one kid) went to Elmstein Project for 5 days and had a great time. The house is really sweet and we liked the way it is decorated. You have to be aware that the house is located at the village's mainstreet. During the day, you have quite some traffic and the sidewalks to the baker and not really child-friendly. Thus, during night time, there is hardly any traffic and the cars that do pass by, you don't hear from the bedrooms. The house comes with a sweet little garden that ends to a little creek. The notable supermarket is 10 car minutes away, but you have various hikes starting a few meters away from the house. Our highlight in the evening was the terrace toward the backyard that give you a lot of privacy. Our highlight of the night was the litte oven that we used every night. For self employed ppl: The internet connection is good and the mobile signal is strong as well. Summing up: I will recommend the Elmstein Projects to my friends and family and we might even come back as we left many hikes untouched.

Cool house in a picturesque town in the middle of an enormous forest! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The furnishings are comfy and clean. Perfect for our family of five. Thank you again!

Exactly what we want. Calm, in a house where we're happy to stay. First time I want to go in holyday in the same place another time. Perhaps next year ?

We had a great time. Everything went fine. The house was a little cold when we arrived but once you lit the fire on it is incredibly cozy. Miriam was forthcoming in answering our questions. The area is lovely. Highly recommended!

As Miriam was not around we had to pick up the house key from somebody in the next town. It didn't go smoothly, but Miriam has made better arrangement for the future, she told me. The house is fully equipped, and has a lovely feel. It is on a through road, so it is a bit busy, but not annoying. The bedrooms are at the back of the house. Elmstein is a cute village with a few shops and tourist information. Lovely for going for walks.

Wir haben zu viert ein paar schöne Tage im Häuschen im Elmstein verbracht. Das Häuschen versprüht einen sehr besonderen Charme, wir fühlten uns während unseres Vesuchs wirklich sehr wohl.
