The space

A magical and elevated site overlooking the River Shannon and situated just outside the village of Labasheeda, less than 20kms from Kilrush in County Clare. This welcoming home is an ideal base for a family or group of friends with plenty to see and do in the area. Killimer being the home of Shannon Ferries is just 8 minutes away which links the counties Clare and Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way is an easy reach.
Free WiFi Internet
Once you walk through the front door you’ll find a traditional kitchen with dining room adjoining. As a guest of the home you have access to an Aga stove which provides nice warmth and is wonderful to cook with, also on the ground floor is a bathroom with shower. Once you walk up the stairs you will find three bedrooms and a bathroom with a free standing bath.

On a sunny day, why not unwind in the rose garden to the front with outdoor seating to help you enjoy the panoramic River views. From this holiday home one can enjoy day trips to Loop Head, Cliffs of Moher, Burren National Park, Kerry, Galway and Limerick. Just two kms away we have recently had sightings of bottle-nosed dolphin. (That’s our little secret though!)

In the evenings enjoy the open fire in one of the two lounges, or have a beer in the house's cosy bar which is housed in one of the sheds. The three bedrooms accommodate up to 6 people comfortably and are left in the original country style, with comfortable bedding.

Currently, we have a duck and some hens in the courtyard and we welcome you to pick up the fresh eggs you’ll need each morning for breakfast. Your host as part of a welcome gift will leave some home baked bread and guests are welcome to join us on the farm some 5 minutes away certain times of the year as well as come hunting game with the hosts during the winter months.

Interaction with guests

Usually, we offer tea, coffee, cordial or wine on arrival. We also offer set meals if guests choose not to travel out again to dine.

Geraldine and Trevor were fantastic hosts! They own a cattle farm and our children absolutely loved being able to milk a cow and feed the calves. Trevor was very knowledgeable above it the places to see that weren't tourist spots. Thank you for the great stay and we will stay again when we make it back to Ireland!

The Killofin Hosue was fantastic and perfect for our group! We stayed in a quiet area with access to city services just a short drive away. Geraldine and Trevor met us as we arrived and provided very helpful information. We learned a great deal about Ireland and the area from them. The house was perfect for our group. I'd definitely contact Geraldine again on our next trip to Ireland. Thanks for making our trip memorable.

The house was not easy to find, but when we finally arrived, we felt very welcome. With no restaurants open nearby and empty stomachs, Geraldine made us dinner with homemade bread, cheese, jams and wine. She was a very nice, involved/ helpful host. The house is beautiful en very nice renovated. A wonderful experience which we highly recommend if you're done with the tourist routes.

Hello, I enjoy being in my home and sharing it with others, hearing others stories and being a host. I have a great respect for food and it's origins and I hope we can share this here. I hope you don't mind my two cats and two dogs who live outside but certainly are part of our home. My partner and I offer outdoor guided hunting activities such as fishing, shooting and foraging in local unspoiled terrain.
