This is a 1750's cottage on a country lane in an extraordinary location, 20 minute walk to the small town of Nailsworth, and a pastoral walk through the abundant waters & garden valley leading to Ruskin Mill Centre & Cafe (best homemade food around!)
This is a 3-storey cottage, with an overview from kitchen and sitting room of tall trees, green hillside and sky. Both upstairs bedrooms have this special vista. We can often accommodate extra guests downstairs on bed settee besides.
The close proximity of Ruskin Mill Trust (see below) puts us in the heart of all that inspired the vision for young lives and land and waterways.
All amenities of the household for general cooking and laundry [self-serve] and 'hanging out'. Often can co-ordinate car-shares/rides to urban hubs; Stroud/Bristol etc.
Interaction with guests
Organic! And always according to the desire and intention of each sojourning traveller.
Other things to note
Heading directly across from the cottage, you can climb through the woods to Ruskin Mill's newest construction, a university classroom in the round, with inspiring talks often open to the public. Walk on a little further to Ruskin Mill farm shop for fresh produce, goodies snacks and treats.
Having lived through 4 teenagers emerging, our Heinz Variety dog, AND elderly
Mother through final dementia years, plus foreign students throughout, Airbnb house guests are a breeze! Basically, when there are multiple house guests we observe courtesy quiet times easily enough by agreement. Pets mostly don't work since we have dog and cat. Smoking okay in the garden.
