This is a 1750's cottage on a country lane in an extraordinary location, 20 minute walk to the small town of Nailsworth, and a pastoral walk through the abundant waters & garden valley leading to Ruskin Mill Centre & Cafe (best homemade food around!)

The space

This is a 3-storey cottage, with an overview from kitchen and sitting room of tall trees, green hillside and sky. Both upstairs bedrooms have this special vista. We can often accommodate extra guests downstairs on bed settee besides.
The close proximity of Ruskin Mill Trust (see below) puts us in the heart of all that inspired the vision for young lives and land and waterways.

Guest access

All amenities of the household for general cooking and laundry [self-serve] and 'hanging out'. Often can co-ordinate car-shares/rides to urban hubs; Stroud/Bristol etc.

Interaction with guests

Organic! And always according to the desire and intention of each sojourning traveller.

Other things to note

Heading directly across from the cottage, you can climb through the woods to Ruskin Mill's newest construction, a university classroom in the round, with inspiring talks often open to the public. Walk on a little further to Ruskin Mill farm shop for fresh produce, goodies snacks and treats.

Me and my son had a really lovely time at Heather's place. I had visited to explore the local area and check out Ruskin Mill, Heather kindly met me down the road to ensure I didn't get lost and took me back to her home. Heather's home is so full of love, you can really feel it. I was able to relax and not at all feel self conscious of my little feral wilding child, he's only two but Heather and her family were so very tolerant of him and showed him kindness and care. Our room was spotless and very relaxing, I loved the vista, you are right in the middle of woodland, it's so beautiful and little Blue-tit birds spend time eating rose-hip berries right outside the bedroom window. My bed was comfortable, nice quality bedsheets and plenty of extra bedding if I needed. The ensuite made it feel extra private. I will definitely return if I need a place to stay in Nailsworth again. Thank you Heather for a lovely time, lovely tea, biscuits and conversation.

Heather's house was cozy and comfortable and located in a beautiful setting. The house is a little remote, but that added to the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Heather is an absolute delight!

Response from Heather:
Thanks for all your feed back Nancy, I will definitely put a map on my page ~ I'm hoping a friend will give me a hand as I'm getting up to speed with computers ! It's a bit unfortunate that Simon had just arrived home after twelve years of living away ! No one else is turning vegan, so the butter and cheese is arriving, specially as my siblings arrived today to celebrate our birthdays (; Once again it was great to meet you and I hope the rest of your trip is fun (:

- Heather was a great host - The cottage is in good condition and the room and ensuite very tidy - The area is safe and quiet at night - The road "Horsley Hill" is closed in the moment, so the access to Horsley is only from the West following the B4058
