Stay in a beautiful house "museum" - Not only are you within walking distance of tourist attractions and minutes from Providence, all proceeds benefit the Preservation Society of Pawtucket! Yay!

The space

*** There is now a new mattress and created a 'sitting room' to respond to feedback. ***

This is a hidden gem of Pawtucket. An 1828 federal style house, it was lucky to have an owner who ardently pursued preserving the history of the city. As a result, the house is a beautiful collection of the past, from the wallpaper to the furniture. It hosts a large yard to relax in, a unique kitchen and that warm comfy feeling you get when surrounded by history.

Guest access

We lock the 'museum' portion of the house. Accessible area still is furnished and decorated with preserved pieces.

Interaction with guests

We sporadically have programming (such as a knitting circle or garden party) at the house, which you are welcome to attend.
We offer a brief tour if desired.

Other things to note

With this house you get a built in tour guide! Not only are we in love with Pawtucket, and happy to share tips and history with you, you are walking distance to the Visitors Center and Blackstone Valley Tourism Council, both of whom are valuable assets to making your trip memorable.

We loved staying here. Very comfortable and wonderful historic home. Remember, you are in an historic home (old) and so, you will be reading at night, talking and playing board games; no tv. House was wonderful to explore and we found everything we needed. Great location! Enjoy and relax.

Overall this was a wonderful place to stay, we enjoyed the no TV and exploring. The home is so unique and brings you back in time. Tim was very communicable and responsive.

This antique home is beautiful but basic. Convenient access to the highway. Beds are old and not verycomfortable. A truly unique place to stay

Dwelling needs upkeep, toilet leaks, vermin droppings on basement floor. Host takes no interest. Rental is a hobby for host. Jocelyn states "I seldom check Airbnb messages." Airbnb messenger preferred communication. Pawtucket appears economically depressed.

Response from Jocelyn:
As our review stated, we tried several times to assess and fix the problems that Richard complained about. We asked that he communicate by phone so we could more clearly understand the problems, but he refused to call anyone. The house is owned by the Preservation Society, we all maintain the house, and all live within several blocks. We went there more than once (though he was out) and tried to address Richard's issues, but he frankly was more invested in complaining than in resolving anything. We should add that he left the house key in the mailbox without bothering to return it to our secure locked box. Richard was a guest in our 1828 carefully restored house, and he treated it and us poorly. We're sorry our experience with him did not warrant a better review, and we can't recommend him to anyone as a guest.

The home was a definite adventure all around. We enjoyed our stay and uncovering the layers of history in and around the area. The home was as promised. It was like stepping back in time. I was happy to have an updated bathroom. The bike trails nearby were great fun. Thanks for opening up this interesting home.
