We stayed here for 3 nights (myself, my wife, and infant daughter). We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the cabin was. We also loved how isolated the cabin was, we could leave the windows open at night and hear the birds and crickets without hearing other people/vehicl…

This was a great stay for us and the kids. We had friendly dogs play with the kids, horses to pet and feed, a fishing pier down the hill and a beautiful lake view. Kathy was so friendly and warm - a truly great host.

This wasn't really a cabin in the woods but rather an old house. It was very convenient and easily housed all four of us. if you are looking for a private vacation or get away, this is the place. We saw very few other boats on the lake and they never disturbed our fishing or boa…

Response from Kathryn:
The first thing I tell my guests is to ask me if they need anything. Although that little 10' incline to the piers has never presented a problem to anyone else, if you had mentioned Susie's knee replacement and that you were having an issue with it, there were MANY possible solutions. One would have been to use the other pier. I typically pull my car within two feet of the pier if I have stuff to carry. We have a variety of elderly and physically challenged friends and family members and we have never failed to get them down there and out on the boat. But I know you liked that nice floating pier. You could have driven down to the red pier and walked along the little path (I think it's about 30' between the two) to the other pier. That is all perfectly level walking. Or I could have hauled stuff down in the UTV! The solutions were many and all so very simple. Please folks, if you have an issue, say something! We have many ways to make our guests comfortable but we can't help if you don't tell us. It is our pleasure to make your time with us special.

I was up in the area to visit my daughter who is at a camp 45 minutes away. This was the perfect "home base" for the trip. The setting is serene, natural, rustic and incredibly relaxing. Any surprises were good surprises, like seeing a bald eagle. I picked up groceries before a…

Our family of 5 including our two senior fur babies enjoyed our stay at Kathy’s during the week of 4th of July. Her rental was clean, quiet, and relaxing. Our kids loved feeding carrots to the horses in the evening and fishing from the dock. We pulled our boat with us and enjoyed…

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house was immaculate and we loved not having to bring all our own linens. For us the location was perfect for accessing shopping and spending time on the lake.

Wonderful week long stay with our 9 and 11 year old grandsons and 3 year old Airedale at Kathy’s cottage, which feels like a remnant from yesteryear, but with modern amenities. The cottage, actually the original farmhouse of the property, is set in a large meadow close to their p…

I am definitely a home body. I love to be at the farm, working in the yard, mowing the pastures, kayaking around in the bay, or playing with the dogs and horses. I love the beauty of the north woods no matter what the season. I pretty much live outside. Animals are the spice of m…
