Maza is a charming village with the most hospitable people. Make sure you have a vehicle since there are no buses directly to the village. But it is a great location to check out nearby towns, cities and nature trails. Peaceful and quaint. Antonis’ house is just the right place for enjoying a relaxed holiday. He himself is a wonderful and generous host, who is very accommodating of the guests’ plans and is great company. Had we had our own vehicle, we would have surely stayed much longer.

We had a fantastic stay at Adonis house,-everything was like described! We wanted to feel life in a small cretan village and we felt it! I loved it, to stay in the garden under the trees and to use the water from the outside sink. Adonis made our stay very special, with his open heart, his stories and his own humor,-and of course his raki, that he brought us often in the night......... we`ll always remember everything with a smile!

This place is the best place on earth if you are looking for peace and quietness. And also if you are looking for genuine Crete hospitality. Antonis is the best host you can have. He is extremely helpful, a wonderful chef and an amazing person to talk with. And Maza is the most picturesque little village. And the one restaurant that there is servers the most amazing Greek food. For me Maza and Antonis house have been the best place on earth for me to be on my journey in Crete. Antonis is the best host you can get!!!

We just had the best time in Maza and Antonis'. Eventough we couldn't find the way up to the house, he was patiently waiting for us and afterwards welcomed us with vegetables and Raki, we've been enjoining very much. Because of a misunderstanding about our leaving, he prefered to make his old friend upset and let us stay another night.Thank you, Antonis. I hope your friend showed up the other day, otherwise I hope you kicked his butt

Adonis is a great, very authentic host. He is always available for help f.e. with public transport. He was very kind to bring us in the early morning to the bus station to go to Samaria Gorge trekking and bring us back in the evening. It is great that we could taste how is living in a small village in Crete. We won't forget his Greek coffees and his homemade - simple breakfast. We learnt also a lot through the many, nice conversations we had. Thanks a lot! Hanneke and Damiano

I'm Antonis and I'm retired. I have traveled a lot in my life but now I have returned to the village in which I grew up. I keep rabbits and chickens and I enjoy cooking, following the recipes I learned from my mother. If you would like I can cook lunch or dinner for you as well, for a small extra charge. I enjoy meeting people and introducing them to the Cretan way of life.
