All about Sarah’s place

The Authentic Log Cabin is a traditional round log cabin built from homegrown timber in 2005.

Situated off the shores of Lough Derravaragh, this is the perfect escape from the modern world. Relax around the campfire after a day of fishing, hiking and exploring historical sites. There is no better place to watch the sunset and star gaze when night fall.

This is for true nature lovers. The basic facilities and lack of electricity foster togetherness and bring out that real outdoors feeling.

The space
The interior is open plan with traditional timber features such as a half door, bunk beds, seating and dining area. The Log Cabin can sleep four guests; a bunkbed and a sofa which can be converted into two single beds or a double bed. Heating of the Log Cabin is supplied by a log burning stove. Lighting is by candle light. *Please note there is no electricity in the Log Cabin.

The exterior consists of a veranda, campfire, dining area and outdoor kitchen. The sheltered outdoor kitchen comes with a bbq, two ring gas hob, fresh running water, all cooking utensils and a cool box. The toilet is in a separate timber built outhouse.

We have a Shepards Hut available to accommodate two more guests for an additional fee.

The local area of the property is perfect for dog walks, nature spotting and fishing with miles of countryside surrounding you. A truly tranquil spot to enjoy the outdoors. The nearest village, Coole, is 3km from the Log Cabin with a pub and corner shop.

Friendly dogs are very welcome but please ask in advance.
