If you want a a really different and unique and 100% swiss experience you will not be disappointed here. Cornelia is warm and very helpful with information. The rooms are clean and comfortable. VERY rustic and fascinating. Very old home. SUPERB walking trails thru forests and mountains to neighboring towns. Just beautiful. Highly recommended to anyone who loves something different.

Excellent place... Cornelia's kitchen had the wonderful perfume of freshly baked bread when I arrived. Everyone was exceptionally cheerful and made my embarrassing late arrival something of insignificance. Massive breakfast, very delightful indeed. Highly recommended.

Cornelia's listing is very charming. The old Schloss has been renovated so that it is clean and has good furnishing and heating but still keeps the unique historic characteristic. It is the once in a lifetime experience. Great location since we were travelling from Italy back to Germany. The family was genuinely friendly and made us feel at home. Breakfast choices were excellent. So many homemade products from the farm were served for us. It was so delicious. I ate so much and slept well here as it is very quiet. A true Swiss Alps village. You must experience it yourself.

Nufenen is a beautiful little village in Graubünden, in a sunny valley. You can take walks from the house in different directions with varying degrees of difficulty. Splügen is a 5min drive from Nufenen where you can enjoy specialites fromthe region (Kapuntz is a must eat). We had the big family room with 5 beds. One double bed is seperated from the rest of the 3-4 beds by a door. Below the bedrooms, is the living & breakfast area. The rooms were well heated, eveything clean. It`s an old wooden rustique house, so it creaks when somebody walks around in the room. Very good breakfast. There is a "Sennerei" (cheese & yoghurt producer) behind the house where we bought local cheese.

Lovely place to stay! "Countryside village" is what I would call Nufenen (the town name). It's easily accessible by bus (a 5minute walk from the station). From Zurich I took 2 trains and a bus and was at the airbnb in 2.5hours (very easy to navigate). The home itself is beautiful - old farmhouse castle - stone hallways, wooden floors, olden style locks on the doors -very charming. Cornelia's family is a family of farmers, yes, the milk served at breakfast comes from the family cows. Cornelia gave me a tour of their animals, where they store the hay, and showed me a map with hiking trails. Their "backyard" is essentially the hills of the Swiss alps...behind the home are grassy hills, across the street are snow covered mountains.breakfast was great, and there's a small "self serve" store downstairs where you can buy some cheese to take with you. If you're looking for a quiet stay in an authentic town, I would recommend this. Basic and no-frills. Don't rely on having access to stores if you forget any items, this is a town of 150people with one little store with limited hours. There is one restaurant in town where I had dinner both nights. Cornelia was a great host ! I had a sore throats and she went out of her way to find some honey and lozenges. Also worth noting, I speak no German! And the family speaks no English. But we communicated just fine with lots of sign language and the occasional (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate check-in :)

This was easily our best stay of a 14 day trip through Italy, Austria and Switzerland. We had some trouble finding the apartment because we second-guessed (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps and then, given Cornelia doesn't speak English, something got lost in translation and we ended up the next town over (10 mins away) but if we'd just put the address on the listing in (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps we'd have been fine. When we arrived parking was easy and then Cornelia welcomed us with a smile and just started talking friendly German at us and miming various things. Once you just go with it, laugh along and do your best it mostly works out, if you're not sure you can use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Translate (on the spot or after exchanging airbnb messages). The rooms themselves are pretty much the definition of rustic, but we loved them, lots of clearly made-by-hand, original stuff. Shortly after arrival Cornelia offered to take us when she milked the cows, but we declined. Then we went to dinner at one of the half dozen hotel restaurants in the area (she has some recommendations on a noticeboard - in German - that I could (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Translate). The next morning Cornelia provided a delicious breakfast that we all raved about for days, more than we could eat much of it grown on her own small organic farm. Then, after breakfast, she took us the couple of hundred metres to her farm and gave us a tour, the kids loved the goats and cows and learned a little about what a real farm is like. Finally, just before leaving we had a look through Cornelia's little farm shop with everything from meat and cheese to hand made crafts, and we bought a dozen different things. This was a one night stay, just meant to be a way to get from Austria to Milan airport, but staying with Cornelia made it so much more and we're so glad we did.

We enjoyed our stay with Cornelia in Nufenen very much. The house has a true historic charm and is nicely refurbished. We spent a very relaxing day at the close by hot spring in Andeer and then the perfect finish of a day at the cozy oven in the house. Excellent and huge breakfast the next day!
